Description of Work: I've had excellent service from Universal Insulation over the years... Universal Insulation is a highly ethical company. When I originally contacted them about helping me me eliminate the 'cold spots' in my home; I had thought that I needed additional insulation everywhere... in my attic, walls and floors. Since I'm on a slab the Universal Representative pointed-out that floor insulation was not a concern... and added that even for homes with a crawlspace under the house, floor insulation is usually considered last (after the attic and walls) as the place to add insulation for the best effect. I scheduled a home visit, and a few days later the Universal Rep took about an hour to measure my house and meet with me. He then described to me that my walls were already properly insulated, but my attic was in need of additional blown-in insulation. As a matter of fact some areas in the attic had no insulation at all; likely missed entirely by the original Builder 25-years ago. I had also had a squirrel infestation at some point and he shown me photos of the old nest and mess that was up there. I opted to have Universal remove the old insulation, fully sanitize the attic and blow-in the new insulation. The whole process took about a day; and they left my home and driveway spotless as the two workers cleaned-up meticulously after themselves. This solved my 'cold spot' issues, except for one area where the Universal Rep showed me with his infrared thermometer 'gun' that a leaky window in that room was the cause of that 'cold spot'. So the Rep pointed me away from spending money on areas where I didn't actually need help, and helped me maximize the money I did spend. * Universal uses blown-in cellulose for the new insulation. * They determine costing by measuring the relevant areas and calculate the cost on a Sq Ft basis... so you only pay for what you need. Description of Work: I called them to add attic insulation and add insulation to the walls. They had the cheapest bid, were on time, did an excellent job cleaning up and were very responsive. Would use them or recommend them again.

Description of Work: Kevin turned up on time for our estimate - had a good look in all my attic spaces and told me I did not need any additional insulation! Ours was at an adequate standard at R28 and he advised me not to bother increasing it for the area we live in. I respect his honesty and professionalism.

Description of Work: The were great. they came an inspected my attic and said I did not need any insulation. I already had enough. the problem was with my windows. They did not charge me for the visit. I think if it was a dishonest company, they could have charged me to put insulation in the attic the was not necessary. I appreciate their honesty and professionalism.

Description of Work: Insulated 1300 sq. ft of attic space in my home. I had existing R-11 and went for the recommended addition of R-19 to bring the attic to R-30. He gave me the option to use blown cellulose as the insulator, but as my attic ventilation is different from most folks homes, I opted for the batts in order to preserve ventilation space. Very nice gentleman who gave me the quote and the three guys who came out one week later to install the batts were very polite and professional. Work completed in roughly 2 to 2.5 hours.
