Excellent Service from quote to final. Great communications and follow-thru for all the steps in the process. The attic insulation has made a very pleasant home to live in. Highly recommended service provider. Will definitely hire again.

From the quote through the installation, Universal Insulation, Inc. were courteous, prompt, and professional. There was no hard sell. Both the sales person and the installers arrived on time. They cleaned up after themselves. I couldn't be more pleased with them and the price. I have noticed that now that the insulation has been installed, my house stays warmer and i don't have to run the heater during the day.

Great, better than expected. They were prompt, professional, and extremely helpful. I truyley cannot express how pleased my wife was that they did not leave a mess and did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves.

Kevin came out free of charge to check the situation--one room that is uncomfortably hotter in the summer (and colder in the winter) than any other room in the house. He checked the walls and attic and registers and looked outside. He didn't find any particular reason for the temperature difference in the one problem room, but he gave me helpful information and adjusted the register vents a bit. There was really nothing significant to do, but at least I was then confident I was not overlooking anything and he did not charge me. I would definitely hire him if I needed insulation work done--very professional and knowledgeable and I trust him.

The bid/consultation was great -- Kevin was friendly and informative, giving his recommendations without being condescending. Scheduling was convenient and responsive -- way better than some others we contacted. The actual fill was uneventful and fast. Didn't interact much with the workers but they worked quickly and without any issues.

The guy checked my house and told us we have enough insulation, and provided us with upgrade plan if we want to go higher standard. Really appreciate the honesty, will definitely recommend to our friends.

Very professional from the time they came out to inspect and gave a quote to the day they finished the job. It took 3 ppl 4 hrs to finish the insulation work in my 1600 sq house. I realized the quality of their work during the June's heat wave in bay area.

Change of scope when installers came, due to difficulty of performing proposed work. Change was handled satisfactorily and original price was not changed even though final product was more expensive than quoted product.

Every part of the interaction was prompt, honest and reasonable. The owner visited me two days after my first contact and gave me a written cost on the spot. Less than a week after I accepted, the work crew cam precisely on time and completed the job in exactly two hours. They vacuumed the part of the floor and closet that they used. The cost was the lowest of three estimates I obtained, and near the average according to price information I read in preparation.

They did a great job, very pleased with everything.

Did not pick up phone. There was no voicemail box to leave a message. Did respond to email at uibi@sbcglobal.net after 24 hours, when I asked for an estimate. Email said they will only travel as far north as Redwood City. Will not consider my house, which is only 2 exits off the highway north of Redwood City.

The service call for the estimate was on time and professional and the estimate arrived promptly. The install team was also on time and finished their work within the time frame given initially. There were two problems with the install, but both of them were immediately and professionally addressed: 1) The was some extra mess inside the house because of some sort of malfunction with a hose carrying the insulation. As soon as my sales rep. Kevin was made aware of this problem he happily agreed to cover the cost of house cleaners to come clean everything up. 2) A few of the patches on the outside of the house for the wall insulation blistered out, but again, as soon as I called Kevin about it he had his installers out the next morning to fix the problem. I would definitely do business with Universal Insulation again.

Kevin came out to give us an estimate. He was very friendly, the estimate went quickly and we booked with him right away. His price was the best we found. The workers came early in the morning worked quickly and cleanly and were finished in a couple of hours. Overall a great experience.

Kevin came out promptly after I called his office to take a look at my attic. I discovered during renovations this summer that the attic had only R7 insulation (house was built in 1953). Kevin explained the process thoroughly and when I mentioned a concern about lot of roofing debris in the attic, he ensured that his workers would remove it. I had to reschedule the appointment once because of a conflict, but that presented no problem. Kevin's crew came out this morning promptly at 8:30 and were finished two hours later. It's a fascinating process to watch, and the two guys who did the service were professional and competent. They let me climb the ladder and take a peek into the attic after the work was done. The few nesting spiders I could see up there are going to be very comfy and happy! I will soon put the house on the market, but I'm sure the new owners will appreciate the attic insulation during very holt/cold days.

Two guys came to insulate our house in the morning. They arrived on time and did the work and cleaned up after themselves. House feels good and insulated. Was really easy process.

We had a great experience with Kevin last year to insulate our attic and bring it up to R38. Kevin and his team accommodated us during the busy winter and was able to get the work done in time to take advantage of the PGand E rebate that was expiring at the end of the year. He walked me through the process in detail and the quality of work was really good. The crew was professional and they cleaned up nicely after they left. Highly recommended!

Kevin Byler was very pleasant when he came to give us an estimate...he told us what need to be done to make the house fully insulated and gave us an estimate cost. He explain what material that is in their product to eliminate rats, termites, bugs in the attic. We set up an appointment and the work was done...fast, efficient and clean.

What a wonderful company! All the reviews are correct! Kevin is such a honest and ethical person. He came over to my house to give me an estimate for insulation in my attic. Upon examination, he said that I had sufficient insulation and that he would just be taking my money if he replaced the existing fiberglass insulation with cellulose insulation. Kevin said that even if he did replace everything, I wouldn't notice a difference in temperature so I didn't need to bother. I'm glad that there is one contractor out there who isn't just looking at his pocketbook!

My experience with them was great. Basically, they did it all in one day. They were great. They came in, in one day and did it. It made a huge difference on our heating bill and how comfortable our house is. If you've got an old house, you've got to do this. I've already recommended them to friends. They're the best.

We contacted Universal Insulation to have a look at the insulation in our attic and provide us with their recommendations and estimate after seeing the positive reviews on Angie's List. We have just bought our home and we were told at the home inspection that the attic insulation was insufficient and noticed that the house doesn't stay heated well. The person that came out (Kevin) was right on time and it took him just a few moments to a**** the situation in the attic. His findings were that the current insulation in the attic were below the norm for newly built homes, but still more than adequate for the home. After explaining to him about the issues we were having to keep the house warm, he looked at the wall insulation, which turned out okay as well. After this, he took the time to look at the total picture of the house and made a few helpful recommendations like changing the old analogue thermostat to a new one, which would be much more efficient at heating the house and more cost-effective as well. We did this meanwhile and it has made a huge difference! It was great to meet a knowledgeable professional that gave us an honest assessment even if this meant not selling us anything. We really appreciated he took the time to look at the heating situation in the house and give his insights on this even if this was beyond the scope of his visit! We were really impressed with their service and would definitely highly recommend!

He said that he does not service my area and he is not on Angie's List, it is just people putting him on because he is so good. I looked him up on Angie's List and there was a review within 5 minutes of my home. I called Angie's List and they verified that he has been on the list since 2005.

I was concerned about the insulation in the attic so I contacted Universal Insulation and Building Inc. for an estimate. Kevin arrived at the confirmed time. He let us know that we currently had R-30 in the attic and that was fine for this area. I then asked him to look at the garage since it right under the master bedroom. He told me that I didn't need it there either because I already had the best solution which was venting in the garage doors. Loved his departing comment "Believe me I really do sell insulation".

They arrived at the time we had agreed upon, were very thorough in protecting the floor where they were walking, and did an excellent job cleaning up. They completed the job within a 1/2 hour of the estimated time. I found them very courteous and knowledgeable. I would recommend their work to others.

My mother used to say and quot;if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it at alland quot; so I am hesitant to write this review, but I feel Angie's List works best if I rate my good, and not-so-good, experiences fairly. I had asked for 3 quotes to remove insulation from our attic and Universal was on that list b/c they had a high rating on Angie's List. I was really disappointed, and here's why. We had had birds nesting in our attic in the insulation, and apparently there was a dead mouse or rat (or two) up there, plus our roof had been leaking and so there was water damage to the walls if not the insulation. While I am all for saving and re-using resources, and I really try not to be wasteful in any area of life, I did feel that in my humble opinion the insulation in our attic was old and nasty. I tell you all this because while I am all for being educated and not spending money, especially when it is not necessary, my husband and I were pretty set on having the insulation removed. Kevin who came to do the quote informed me it didn't need to be removed and so it felt like a struggle to convince him to give me a quote. I am sure that in many cases it would be useful to have a honest business person steer clients away from unnecessary spending, but I was left feeling like he wasn't listening to what I wanted. As such, he didn't get our business. I hope this is helpful.
