Description of Work: Tune up on furnace. Took forever to them to return emails. Missed several appointments. Finally came out. Gave estimate of more work thr needed done. I agreed. Missed several more appointments. Had to call office to finally get them out I house. Did okay job but made marks on ceiling and cover to attic. I wanted them out so told then not to worry about. Would not recommend.

Description of Work: My Heater was not functioning right. The thermostat was out of control!! I called UMC heating n air and not only did they provide me with excellent service but "Miguel was one of the most helpul and efficient workers... I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO EVERYONE WHO NEEDS PROFESSIONAL, AND HONEST WORK TO BE DONE!! :)

Description of Work: "Acid wash. I was fine with the labor, but I have not received a contract for the 2 times a year maintenance. I called and Larisa(?) said she'd mail it to me. I now have buyer's remorse and very put out. This job was done on 9/3/13. Your ""Big Deal"" makes me wonder and I was thinking of another ""Big Deal"". Not so sure now. Bernadette Tanita "

We gave this customer and appointment between 4-6. that day my all technicians were extremely busy. When customer called me back to confirm the appointment time dispatch informed him that technician is runny late because the previous call took longer time than we expected . Dispatch asked the customer whether or not he would like still keep the appointment or reschedule he choose to cancel the appointment. that was around 5 o'clock it wasn't even 6 our show up time was between 4-6.

Description of Work: I recently had UMC come and install a new thermostat for me in my home. The technician Miguel was first class from our introduction to our goodbye. I had to have Miguel out again because my thermostat was acting up, but he showed me how to reset it and the problem was solved. I highly reccomend this company for their knowledge and especially their customer service.

Description of Work: Our kitchen was visited by a rodent intruder who decided to chew its way threw two of the plastic pipes in our dishwasher––causing a leak. One pipe was easily replaced; the other, however, was attached to the unit and thus the entire unit under the dishwasher had to be ordered and reinstalled. We were told that since the part had to come from the manufacturer it might take up to 10 day

Description of Work: The problem was that the fan associated with our HVAC system would not turn off. Alex, from UMC, checked over the system and concluded we needed only a replacement thermostat. I told him I wanted a simple thermostat, and he had on the truck only expensive commercial ones. He came back the next day to install the type of thermostat we wanted. He gave us a 10% senior discount when we asked. Alex was quite knowledgeable and prompt.

Description of Work: Our refrigerator stopped working. The repairman came; the temperature controller had burned out. He brought a new one the next morning and installed it. It promptly fried, because the problem was the compressor. The repairman told us it wouldn't make sense to buy a new compressor; we needed to shop for a new refrigerator. While we had to pay for the part, he didn't charge us for either visit.

Description of Work: Back in June of 2010 I had an issue with a dishwasher and called UMC for service. As I said in my report at the time, they told me they did not work on my particular brand but would arrange for another provider. The experience was great, and I said the next time I needed major appliance service I would call them. Over the weekend there was a power failure and my electric wall oven came back with a failure code. I called UMC for service and in describing the issue, Yurik told me that before he came out he wanted me to try to trip the breaker and see if this worked. (It was a control panel issue.) Many a repair company would prefer to make a simple service call instead of giving an honest answer. Bottom line the $0 fix worked. Again, I appreciate the honesty and professionalism and will be back should I ever really need a service call.

Pleasantly fast and to the point.
Description of Work: A/C stopped working, Yurik showed up and very quick determined it is the thermostat and replaced it, with a better one. And he inspected everything to make sure all is good. Now everything is back to normal

Description of Work: The work included replacement of all heating ducts in the crawl space under the house, redesign of duct layout and proper hanging of ducts from the flooring rafters. Every return was sealed and the system works better than ever. Our job was successfully completed in the promised time frame by Moses and Steve - - they were on-time, responsive to our requests and were very thorough. We would definitely use this company again.

Our AC broke on one of the hottest days of the year. We called several companies, but because it was a Saturday, most couldn't come over the weekend. Yurik said he was booked, but he was going to try to squeeze us in the following day, on Sunday. He charged us $97 to service the AC, change the filter and get it back running. He gave my husband tips on maintaining our AC and heating system to prevent further problems ( we are first-time home owners). He was extremely polite and professional; we liked him alot. Before he left, we also asked him to check our broken stove. He told us that the cost of new parts and labor ($345) may be close to that of getting a new stove and he recommended that we check out new stoves before we fix it. Even though initially he thought was going to be done in one hour, all the AC work and the stove inspection took almost 2 hours of his time. Despite our offering to pay him more, he refused. We felt that he was very competent and did not try to rip us off.

I was desperate. I had no AC, called Yuri at 6:30, he said he would come as soon as he could. At 8 PM he was here, figured out what was wrong and fixed it. He was very nice, very professional and just fixed the short. If all contractors were like this, home ownership would be a whole lot easier. I would recommend him to anyone.
Description of Work: My AC broke. Yuri came to my house at 8PM, figure out I had a short in the AC unit itself and fixed it. He reinstalled the thermostat and cleaned up.

It went great, I couldn't have been happier. Everything was on the dot, they came in the morning and were done by late afternoon. My dad was home with them and he said they were very professional and personable. Everything went very smoothly.
Description of Work: My sister had some work done by these people and she said she got them from Angie's List. She was very happy with their service and the quality of their work. Called and got somebody to come out for an estimate. Had gotten a few from others and UMC was the cheapest. Scheduled the service for a few weeks later. Always on time and prompt to answer my questions regarding the AC/heating installation.

No problems or pop ups. The guy was here for nearly 6 hours. Very smooth day! I got more than what I paid for because it can't be this easy to deal with contractors.
Description of Work: We had a leaky AC pipe. Got a few estimates then my friend told me about Angie's list and I logged in, checked it out and called UMC within a day they came around gave me an estimate. I said your hired (because they were the lowest) scheduled them to repair the pipe a few days later. They charged me $97/hr. + parts. The guy was very nice, knowledgeable and personable. Would definitely call them again for all my AC/Heating needs.
