+ 0 moreI was dissatisfied with the work performed for the following reasons: The time that was spent servicing each unit was a few minutes per unit and we feel that that was just not enough to do a proper inspection/Service also the job was not complete because the Air Conditioner filters were not replaced and installing new filters was part of the Tune Up package that we purchased. Also the technician failed to inspect the inside portion of the units (the blower) even after requesting for this to be done. Because of this failure to inspect the blowers I ended up having damage to my ceilings because water backed up and overflowed which could have been prevented if an inspection was done. After I called their office requesting to get our new filters, they agreed to come back and we set up an appointment, nobody showed up. We called back to express our dissatisfaction and to request for the owner to come over and re inspect the units and bring the filters and he told us that we would have to wait about a month if we wanted him to come over. At that point I was so dissatisfied I said forget it.
Description of Work: I requested an annual service on my air conditioning units which was to include inspecting the actual outside and inside AC units along with the thermostats and replacement of air filters.

+ 1 moreMy AC unit had completely stopped working. I called in the morning and Yurik was able to come by in the afternoon. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad capacitor and changed it. He advised me that freon was low but said no need to add at this time. He also advised me that blower fan was blowing at low rpms and may need to be replaced in the future, but again suggested that nothing needed to be done at this time. I felt very confident in his assessment of the problems and will definitely use him in the future for all my HVAC needs.

+ 0 moreSet original visit for 4/30; however, due to vehicle trouble appt was changed. Miquel (Head Tech for UMC) called to advise of the problem several times and on last call was able to reschedule appt for 5/1. Showed up promptly at noon. Called prior to that advising of ETA. Was personable and knowledgible. We also discussed uneven AC flow thru vents and he said that adjustments are possible and would advise and suggest via E-Mail. AC unit is on roof of second story and will no doubt need routine inspection in the near future. If additional service is needed at any time, I will be contacting UMC (Miquel)!
Description of Work: Miquel checked out furnace & thermostat as is indicated in purchase order. Adjusted thermostat; setting date, time etc. Replaced filter. Advised furnace motors were self contained and all looked in good order.

+ 0 moreThe, technician, Miguel, showed on time and was very friendly and helpful. There was a problem with my fuse box and Miguel was able to fix the problem. There was only a $97 fee for the work provided. Miguel noticed that that my system needed maintenance and provided me with a maintenance contract for a year which was the bet solution for my system. I'm very happy with their service and I will definitely use this company again for their excellent customer service and I highly recommend UMC.
Description of Work: I was having problems with my heating system and I called UMC and the person I spoke to over the phone was very polite and helpful so they scheduled an appointment for the following day.

We agreed on a price for all the parts and labor and within 2 hours he was at my house working on the Air Conditioning unit. He was dressed professionally and didn't smell bad. All the work was done within a 4 hour period and they left my house just the way it was when they first came in. Yurik was fast to respond, did the work fast, and cleaned up afterwards. I would recommend him o anyone needing Air Condition repair.
Description of Work: Replaced Air Conditioning Condenser and serviced the whole Air and Heating system.

+ -1 moreI called yesterday afternoon about 2pm, hoping I will get someone to come right away, sure enough Yurok answered all my questions over the phone and was at my property within an hour, did not waste time went did his evaluation and right away gave me the quote, very reasonable price much better than others that I called before, he was very pro and knew the problem right away, extremely professional and respected my time. After agreeing the price he went straight to fixing the problem, I was very impressed of the efficiency of his time and knowledge. He got himself a lifetime customer. I would definitely recommend him for any job that I would have, and definitely will let all my friends know about just a professional company, which is not many these days. + 0 moreThey did great work. They came to check that everything was okay not that long ago. I would definitely work with them again. They were great. I like the fact that the guy really seemed to try to understand what we wanted, it was a little complicated of what we wanted and he seemed to be very intelligent about trying to design something that would work for what we wanted, and I believe he achieved it. We did got a couple of cheaper quotes but their design, experience and knowledge was really worth it for us. You could probably get somebody to just buy the parts and throw them in for cheaper price. There was a heat wave or something and they were up in the attic just really long hours putting the stuff in and stayed really late couple of nights to get it done on time so they are really, really good.
Description of Work: We did work with UMC Heating & Air Conditioning Refrigeration. They took out a furnace and put in an air conditioning and heat pumps.

+ -1 moreI had no response from them for a few days until you told me to contact them direct. They did come soon after that. I don't really know how to rate them as they did not do the work. I had to have a new furnace because the firebox was cracked. I had to use my home warranty plan because obviously the cost was going to be high. I think he was honest because the Home Warranty company didn't even question the inspection I had.

+ -1 moreWe were very happy with Yurik and his install team. Prior to install he came out to do a comprehensive onsite estimate, free of charge. He went into the attic space, checked the existing furnace, recommended a compatible AC unit, and gave us recommendations on running duct work to the additional rooms. He was very up front with us that the existing furnace and the compatible AC unit were right on the edge of being able to handle the volume of space we were asking, but we were comfortable with that. He estimated that the entire contraction would take approximately 7 days. Once we decided to move forward, Yurik?s team was on site on time and ready to work every day. Each day they draped the floors to keep the mess down, and were very good about picking up after themselves. Hi team was very efficient, and was able to get the job done in half the estimated time. All the new ducts are sealed nicely, and each register is clean. Yurik?s team also installed dampers in each of the ducts, to help regulate the air flow to the new portion of the house and the original and they took the time to properly calibrate the dampers so that each room is nicely balanced. The whole house now benefits from central heat nicely (we tested the AC, but as it?s winter we won?t have a solid test for a few months). One thing to note is that they are definitely quicker to respond to phone/voicemails rather then email. Not a horrible problem, but if you want a quicker response that?s the way to get it. I would definitely recommend UMC for AC work, and we?ll be using them to service the equipment in the future.
Description of Work: We have a house originally built in the 1940's where the garage and an addition were converted into living space in the 1960s, but no heat or air was ever run to the garage/livingroom or the additional bedroom. The main house had existing central heat from a previous owner.

+ -1 moreIt was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They absorbed the money for the checkup because my heater was dead and I needed to have one completely replaced. They were a good company and quite reliable. They called multiple times to make sure that everything is still working right. They are very earnest people and they are a good company. Even though it was an extreme amount of money, it is a big house and I thought it was a pretty good deal. My other system was 24 years old. They said this one will last 25 years. I will absolutely use them again.

+ -1 morePoor Communication. Angie's List told me this company will call me two days after I purchased the service. Well, guess what? I had to call them after 7 days when no one bothered to call or email me. Their reason: "you did not leave us your contact number." Hello??? Don't you have it in my AL's account? This is the only company I dealt with from AL that asked for my contact info. Poor Service. When the technician came with only 3 small tools in one hand (may be 3 screw drivers) I thought he had no intention of cleaning my furnace according to the contract. True enough, after looking at my furnace and let it run for a few minutes he told me my furnace is defective and needs to be replaced. He was sorry to give me the bad news but he will send me a quote for a brand new furnace system. Well, guess again? The quote never came...no calls, no nothing! He was in and out of my house in less than 10 minutes. That was easy! I ended up cleaning the furnace myself, thanks to YouTube. Now my furnace is running good and I'm enjoying my warm winter. There is a good reason for the B Grade for this company. The only reason I hired them is proximity and low price. But as they say: you get what you pay for!

Description of Work: I purchased an A/C tune-up. It took me three tries and lots of waiting around before they finally showed up. I waited two hours for them to show for the first appt.; they never came. I called, and the woman who answers the phone was very frazzled and went on and on about how busy they are, and they forgot. Okay, fine, I get it. I forget stuff, too. So, I made a second appointment. Again, I waited for three hours, and again, no one showed. When I called, she said that the technician had called both my home and cell phone several times, and that I didn't answer. SORRY, wrong. I was at home the whole time, waiting for them. NO ONE called either phone. She and I went back and forth about it for a bit, but there was no use in arguing. Clearly, the technician just didn't show and then lied to his company and said he couldn't get a hold of me. I made a third appointment. This time, they did show up, but 30 minutes late. The guy was here no more than 10 minutes, so I don't even know if he did what was promised in the description. I just now re-read what he was supposed to do, and there's no way he did it all because one of the items was to check my thermostat, but he didn't even come in my house except to give me the invoice. It also says he's supposed to replace a filter. He did not do that. I should have printed the description of the service and given it to him while he was here, but I figured...it's his job to know what to do. And, honestly, I was so annoyed with this company that I didn't even care at that point. I did notice the guy had someone waiting in his car for him, so I guess he didn't care about finishing the job. This company was horrible, horrible, horrible and unprofessional in multiple ways.
