Description of Work: New roof. It took seven days to complete the roof but, they had a lot of roof jobs to complete before the rain. I wish they would have called each day to let me know how long they would work. Workers were very neat and professional.

Description of Work: Justin was professional, informative and honest it was a pleasure doing business with a contractor that has these qualities. The crew that removed and installed the new roof covered our pool to prevent roofing material and nails from falling in, kept our property clean during the construction and did an excellent job installing the new roof. We are very satisfied with Brea Roofing and would recommend them to our friends and family.

Description of Work: I delt with Bob Simmons. He gave me the estimate and explained what they would do to fix my roof. Also explained and put in writing the cost of further material ie: wood replacement if necessary. He called to let me know when they would do the job. I was at work when they came. Bob said he arrived as they were finishing. He checked it and said they did a good job and explained about the dry rot and why the wood had to be replaced' He said he called my place of work and was told I had left. He waited for awhile and washed off my pavers while waiting for me. I had a doctors appointment and arrived home after he left. I called him and he explained everything to me. He said I could just send a check to the company. I was very pleased with the professionalism he demonstrated. Louise Baumgart

The was a grate experience. He was finished on time and his employees where awesome. They where working during school hours there is a great deal of safety that is needed to be considered. I will call them in the future for any other projects of this nature.
Description of Work: We have a Deck at our elementary school that was leaking into the resource room below. Justin came right away and gave me several different options on the repair. They removed the entire deck sheeting and put down new sheeting and installed a great product called Hydro-Stop.

Very professional and prompt. Only issue I have is charge was $450.00 and 2 workman completed job in less than 30 minutes. I realize you pay for what people know not just what they do, but at that rate we're talking $450.00 pre hour (30 minutes - 2 men), seems a little high....

Our home is a single-story house with a detached garage built in 1948. Our roof was a wood-shake roof. We don?t know when the original wood-shake roof had been replaced, but, our existing roof was weathered and crumbly. Our home insurance was canceled in January because the roof was made of wood and because it was weathered. We decided to replace the roof with composition shingles. Since we liked the wood-shake look, after a long search, we settled as a replacement on Owens Corning Woodmoor Chestnut shingles. I measured the roof from ground level and came up with an area of 30 squares. We obtained five estimates from roofing companies for the job. Two were solicited by email, and three were solicited from salesmen who came to our home. Two of these salesmen climbed onto the roof to make their own measurements. They never shared with us their results. The estimates for the job ranged from $15,000 to $18,000, with provisions that the cost could go higher if any wood needed to be replaced. After researching the licenses of the roofing companies, viewing some of their completed roofs, and reading customer reviews of their work, we settled on Brea Roofing. The Brea Roofing salesman was Dan Shirley. We visited the Brea shop one time and met Bobby, who would oversee our job. The roof removal and new installation went quickly and cleanly. The job took about four and a half days to complete with three roofers doing the installation. The lead man was Nacho. Some debris did fall in the attic because the wood-shake roof was on top of open sheathing. Before the roof removal, I covered in the attic a central ceiling fan with a plastic sheet. In the garage, I hung over the beams plastic sheets from wall-to-wall to catch the debris. We had some concern about how a conical section of the house roof above a bay window would be covered. Although Brea didn?t follow the OC installation recommendations for the conical section, the finished conical section and the rest of the roof look great! Neighbors and passersby have commented how good the roof looks. Some have asked for the name of the roofing company. I think we should get a referral commission from Brea! There was one surprise when we got the invoice. We were billed for 33 squares. For this reason, I climbed on the roof and re-measured it. I confirmed that it is 30 squares! I went over the measurements with Dan Shirley, and I learned that the roofing company practice is to make approximations. So, beware of this practice! We came to a compromise, and we paid for the extra three squares of materials that were delivered, but did not pay for the installation costs. This brings up the interesting question: Where did the extra three squares of material go? One bundle of shingles was left for us by the roofers. The roofers took about two and a half bundles back to the shop. The rest appears to us to have been cut during the installation and thrown away as waste. Our roof has multiple hips and valleys. Our observation was that the shingle pieces that needed to be cut to fit the hips and valleys were simply thrown away. The roofers made very little attempt to reuse somewhere else the left-over larger cut shingle pieces. The emphasis during the installation seemed to be on speed and not on material economizing! After the job was finished, I discovered that almost all the soffit vents were clogged with debris. I removed, unclogged, and cleaned all 22 of them. Also, I unclogged, on the attic side, the vents above two showers and a pantry. Roofers aren?t eager to enter attics because of the danger of doing damage to ceilings!
Description of Work: Our wood-shake roof was removed, and replaced with composition shingles.

My wife and I were extremely happy with our experience with Brea Roofing. You hear horror stories of jobs started and left uncompleted, but with this company they started in and didn't stop until it was completed in about 5 days. We had excellent comunication with Justin Shirley. Justin had gone over what would happen and had given us a timeline, and the job unfolded pretty much as he said. The tear-off crew did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. The roofing crew leader (Nacho) was very good about asking whether or not we wanted certain elements of the roof replaced (he even left notes on how much replacement wood was being used). The finished roof looks great. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this family run roofing company to anyone. Everything about this transaction was transparent and professional from beginning to end.
Description of Work: Brea Roofing stripped and removed our old roof, which included asphalt tiles over wood shakes. They replaced about 350' of termite damaged tongue-and-groove board over our back porch, installed a "light tube" style skylight in our kitchen, replaced 2 standard skylights on our porch roof, and installed 2 roof vents.

After deciding to go with Brea Roof I spoke to Justin regarding start date. It was to be several weeks out. I explained the situation of parents health and that they would be out of town for a week. He readjusted their schedule to accommadate my situation. His crew came out on a Sunday to start the tear off. Then they spent the rest of the week removing and replacing facia board etc and installing the new paper and shingles. They cleaned up all the debris they made every day they worked and left the premisis immaculate when finished.
Description of Work: Tear off and replace entire ashphalt single roof. Replace almost all facia boards on 2 story house/

They did a very good job. We had one problem a few months afterwards with some peeling paint and they took care of that promptly. One negative thing is that when they were installing the gutter system they came up a foot short and we had to get them back to finish it. They did take care of it. All in all, it was a very good job and we were very pleased with them.
Description of Work: They shingled our house. They did have to tear off the old shingles and hauled them away. They did some replacement where there was rotten wood.
