Henderson Tree Service

We bought two certificates and when the estimator came out he said we could only do one and not both at the same time. I called the office and they said they could do both. Called for the estimator to come out again and an estimate was given to remove a tree and cut back others. They came out and worked one day and left, with what we felt was a not completed job. No coment was made about returning nor did we receive a cal about the work. I finally called and was nicely told that she thought the work had been completed, but would check. After not hearing anything for awhile I again called, and was told that they would be back out to finish when the weather allowed. They came this week to finish the job. The woman at the office was always nice and ultimately the job got done, but I would not use them again as the estimator was not particularly friendly or helpful and it took to much work on our part to get the job done.

These guys showed up on time, with enough guys and equipment to get the job done right. I had several trees to deal with, one of which is approximately 30 + feet tall. I have them trimmed usually every other year, and this was the best job done by far (I've owned this property for 10 years now). They helped me with an additional tree they weren't counting on, and didn't charge me a bit. I highly recommend these guys - they really know what they're doing.

.I paid the $99 for a special deal worth so much (I don't remember). I forgot about it for a while then called and they came to give me an estimate which was double other estimates. We agreed on different trees to be trimmed, he wrote out an estimation and said his office would call with a service date. They have never called.

They did excellent work and cleaned up well afterwards.

When they came I had them trim my avocado tree and trimmed some branches off the top of my orange trees so we could reach the fruit. They did a terrific job! They got right to work and worked very quickly. They even took the time to pick the fruit of the branches they trimmed off before they disposed of the branches. I had never seen anyone take the time to take the branches and leave the fruit and I would certainly use them again!

While the work was fine and i was very pleased with how the tree looked after the trimming I was not happy with the price. When the estimated came initially I was quoted a price of $2300. I thought that price was outrageous and told him I only wanted $400.00 worth of work done because I paid $199 for $400.00 of work with the coupon from Angies list . He told me he could do that but the tree would not look trimmed and that it would not be healthy. I said then I didn't want the work done. After he left I called the company and complained about the price and how I did not think it was reasonable. After much discussion, he said he would send the guy back and give me a new estimate. In the end it cost me a total of $$999 ($199.00 for a $400 coupon plus another $700. According to the guy I got $2300 worth of work for $999.00. I only did it because the guy told me that the tree would likely not do well and may even fall if work was not done. I felt like I do at auto repair shops where they tell me I need something done that is very expensive and if I don't do it , I am putting myself and others in danger. I admit the tree looked beautiful and healthier after the trim but I do not feel comfortable that the price was fair and reasonable and I did not like the tactics used to get me to pay more. And if I did not go along with the recommendation, I felt like I totally would have wasted the $199 coupon. I felt caught between a rock and a hard place. Maybe the price was fair... but I just don't know.

Three months after the tree trimming, the palm tree started to die (it was a healthy 20+ year old tree, until then). I called Henderson about it but they told me that they never had this kind of thing happen. I called an arborist and he came and told me that, most likey, the palm tree caught a disease when it got trimmed and it was beyond saving. That, often, spores can get transferred from cutting a diseased tree to the next tree from the chain saw blade if it is not sterilized before use (I watched Henderson trim my palm and they did not sterilize). I usually have another tree service trim my palm but this time I went with Angie's List and Henderson because of the deal; my other service (Bishop's Tree Service) always sterilizes their blade. We called Bishop's tree service to have it dug up and hauled away. Although I suspect the cause, I cannot prove it.

The work was done well and in a timely manner. I would definitely use them again.

They were very friendly and professional, but we ended up going with another company because, even with the Big Deal, the final cost would have been almost double what other companies would have done the job for.

I am satisfied with the work that was done.

Care was taken with each plant. Some were in very difficult areas to access. I was very impressed with how thorough and skillfully the job was handled. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this service and look forward to working with them again.

Nancy, the scheduler, is very efficient, responsive and professional. Juan, who gives the estimates, arrived on time and listened closely to my descriptions of work. He gave a reasonable estimate on the spot. The tree trimmers arrived late due to heavy traffic (but Nancy called to advise me the crew would be late). The crew worked long and hard and did good, careful work. My only complaint is that the crew was tired by the end of the day and did not do a thorough job cutting back a big stand of bamboo.

Not a trustworthy company.

I had gotten another estimate for about half the price of Henderson's for more trees than Henderson trimmed. I would have just gone with the other company, but I had already bought the Angie's List coupon and it was non-refundable. So, they were supossed to do $800 of work for $400, but instead we recieved $400 of work. This was not a good deal at all, because they wanted to charge us much more than what we paid for the same area that the other company would have done for half. We went ahead and let them do the little bit that they would do for the coupon and had the other company come out to do the rest for much less. And yes, the other company did a wonderful job!

They arrived on time, went right to work, and obviously had experience as a team. They left my patio looking a great deal better, not a twig nor leaf was extra. They were very responsive to my questions and made me certain I had called the right team. I'd have them back in a heartbeat.

Juan came to give us an estimate and we agreed to have the work done. The team was very punctual and did a wonderful job of trimming three trees. They also cut down a 4th tree and cut it into logs for us and removed the stump. They were very professional and did a great job of cleaning up the area afterwards.

I used an Angie's List Big Deal to enlist the services of Henderson Tree Service to do the annual seed pod removal from my back yard Queen palms that are near a pool. One of their crews happened to be working in my neighborhood, so instead of evaluating my job and scheduling the work to be done, they were able to complete my job later the same day! They pointed out one trunk of a multi-stemmed King palm was resting against the house's tile roof and agreed to remove it along with trimming the other two Queen palms. All work was carefully and safely performed, and all tree debris was removed. I would gladly recommend Henderson Tree Service and will likely use them in the future for this and other tree maintenance.

The estimator arrived 1 hour late. He told me they would charge me $400 to remove ivy from 20 feet of tree trunk. I know this price is very unreasonable because I personally removed much more ivy from the tree next to it only six months earlier. I requested a full refund from Angie's List, which was cheerfully provided.

What a great company. The staff is great...even though they were overwhelmed with Angie's List calls. The staff is very polite and very professional. Their equipment is unbelievable. We could not believe that they can trim the highest trees and clean up with the same machine. Great piece of equipment . We have never seen anything like it. We will be using them again...hopefully there will be another Angie's List Deal.

Henderson Tree Service trimmed back two large trees on our property. One was done perfectly and the second one was done differently and didn't match the other. So I sent Nancy (the wonderful women in the office) a picture in an email and she agreed they should look similar. She sent the guys back out and they trimmed the second tree to match the first. I was a little worried that they might not see it the way I did, but they were very responsive and quick to respond to my request. I used an Angie's Deal on these trees so it was a fantastic deal.

I had a quote from another company for the removal of three trees (2 palm and 1 magnolia) and thought the "special" would cover this job. I purchased the deal and the very next day Henderson trees contacted me to have a technician come out to the house to give a quote. This happened 2 days later. The technician was very knowledgable and courteous. He also gave suggestions as to which trees to cut and explained that grinding the stumps was not feasible based on the irrigation and electrical wires under the trees (the other company were going to grind the stump!) were cut due to their roots growing under the foundations of the house. I scheduled the service for 3 weeks later and the technician came out with the crew so I didn't have to take time off work to show them the exact trees to cut. They came the appointed time and when I came home that evening the trees and any debris were gone. It was a very clean and professional job.

They were great. They were very quick and cleaned up the yard great. I would use them again.

We are very pleased by the work done by Mr. Juan Ortiz and his two man crew. Mr. Ortiz described the work that would be included in the price of the Tree Service Big Deal. He answered our questions about the cost of additional services. We agreed to spend an additional $350, a very reasonable price. We highly recommend Henderson Tree Service.

They came out to perform the initial estimate. When it came time for them to do the actual work, they couldn't make it out when they said they would. The first occasion they called and let me know they could not make it and rescheduled for a later date. The next time, their truck broke down. I wasn't informed of this issue until after the scheduled appointment time. Furthermore, they could only come out a week and a half after this date. All in all, things just didn't make sense and I had taken time off work, only to have no work performed. It seemed like they had maybe over booked themselves. They also didn't make much extra effort to make up for any inconveniences.

They cleaned up after themselves and were very efficient. I did end up buying another deal with them and was very impressed.
