Henderson Tree Service

They were very pleasant and did what they said they were going to do. They worked quickly and efficiently.

One Word to describe my experience with Henderson Tree Service would be -- EXCELLENT. First, they were the only one I contacted that both answered the phone and could come out the same day for an estimate. The work being done is in a very tough area, alot of hills, and the ground is full of rocks. I was told that Juan would be out that afternoon around 4pm. At 4pm Juan showed up, looked at the trees, tried to save me some money by removing the stump myself, but I said I wanted them to do it. After looking at our yard(sloping, rocky, hard to access, power and cable lines running through the branches of the pine tree) he gave me an estimate of $1000, and said they would be able to get the work done on the 9th of July. His professionalism and confidence was all I needed, the price seemed more than reasonable, and I told him I had another person coming out for an estimate. Well, after he left I thought it over and called the other 2 companies back and told them I had made my decision w/out even letting them give me an estimate. Day of the work: I was at work until 11am, and I knew they were working, because I could hear their equipment with my security system. I came home to find the 2 trees gone, and Juan and 2 workers were working on the Eucalyptus stump, by hand, no stump grinder. The 2 workers seemed a little nervous because what I saw was my 4" main sewer line cracked in two. That is why we were having the trees removed, and I had warned Juan of the situation. I was actually happy, because I could see the problem, and would be able to fix it myself, but that in itself is another story. They continued to work on the stump with chainsaws and prybars for a few hours and finally got as much as possible out. They cleaned up the yard, and left. I have already recommended them to my neighbor, and would highly recommend that you give them a call before you have any one else do any work.

Tree trimming looks good to me (husband handled everything but Angie's list keeps hounding me to give the review so I'll do the best I can). The trimmers had some miscommunication with my husband and they did the trimming before my husband gave the the go-ahead, although he was planning on giving them the work, so ultimately it worked out ok. Bit of a surprise though. We are having them come back to do more work.

I didn't like them at all. This is the kind of thing you hear about happen, but is happened. They come out and I showed them the things that I was interested in and then they come back and said that will be $499 or something like that it is way more than double. What do I get for $99 it was like we will trim this orange tree. I have a guy who is a gardener who does most of my trimming so I have a sense of what things cost. The guy talked to somebody their head quarter and so I ended up paying more and they cut like five branches of tree and then when the time to pay they were back up to their earlier price and I had a hassle with the lady who said no, no they didn't cut the whole and she just gave me a really hard time and I felt like a rip off. I never doing that again I didn't like quite focused it was an Angie's list thing because I thought the Angie's list is my I go by your people and I know that if you ever had a bad experience we should call you because that your whole reputation is based on. Finally I had to put the little guy on the phone who did the clipping to tell her know you didn't do all that. It was really annoying.

Showed up, said he could do it and we discussed a day. On the day, I came home from work and the tree was gone. Not only gone, gone without a trace. No dust, no dirt, no trace. It was amazing. Love this guy.

Henderson Tree Service was okay. We had them do just a little bit more work. Their attention to detail and stuff like that wasn't as good as I had like. I was also there for part of the job, I felt like especially if I hadn't been there, it just felt like kind of rushed. Maybe I'll use them again depending on what I need done.

Everything went very well! From the initial call up until they finished the work, everything was handled in a professional manner. The results were just what we were hoping for. We will be using them again in the future.

They came out and gave me estimates. Then I bought one for my daughter, then we went up there. We agreed on what they're going to do and they didn't really do a very good job. Then I had to go out and finished cleaning on that afterwards they were going to clean up a wall of plants ins front of our house and they left weeds and they didn't cut back. I spent $400 on things that I don't really got $400. I've gone out since then and hired people and gotten a lot more work for $200 here and $200 in our daughter's place. I wasn't impressed. I just got my three small trees trimmed last week for $100. They did really even trimmed, they didn't really go inside and trimmed them up all over, they're not that tall, they're pretty small, they just kind of cut the stuff outside. And then in our daughter's house they trimmed up a large hedge but they didn't do the top of the hedge, they said it was too high. And then they were to clean up an area, maybe 15 feet by 2 feet, they said they were going to clean that up and trim up the plants. She had some palm trees and some birds of paradise.

It was fine and there was no damage done! He was very punctual and they had a nice office staff. The foreman on the job was professional as well!

Completed requested work efficiently.

The Henderson people were very knowledgable and proficient. It was especially interesting to watch because the tree was large. They did an excellent job and cleaned up all the mess before they left. We were happy with their services and professionalism. We wanted some rounds from the trunk of the tree, and a stump to put it on to make a table for plants and they made a number of them for us. We were pleased with the job they did. When they gave us the estimate for the job, it seemed a little expensive, but we needed to have it done. I would recommend the Henderson Tree Service to anyone who needed a tree trimmed or cut down.... Thank you Henderson !!!!!!

Purchased an Angie?s List Big Deal for Henderson Tree Service in December 2012 when we had just moved into our first home, expecting that we might need tree service sometime in the following months. Called Henderson in April 2013 to schedule an appointment for the estimate. Spoke with Nancy Dench and mentioned the Angie's List voucher I had purchased. She scheduled our appointment for an estimate for the following week, on Tuesday, April 23rd, and we met with Mr Ortiz on that day. He was punctual while we were ~10 min late due to traffic. He was polite, professional, and gave us a written estimate. He said that Nancy would contact us to schedule the service. Three days later, when we hadn't received Nancy's phonecall, I called to follow up. Nancy said they didn't have the schedule for May yet and that she'd call me as soon as they did. On May 1st I called a 2nd time and got the same answer. On May 13th I called one last time and asked Nancy to help me understand what schedule she was referring to and how it was that she couldn't schedule our service for any specified date. She said that Henderson didn't have other work scheduled in my area (we live in the North County coastal area) and indicated that she didn't know if or when they might, by not directly answering my questions. She did say that Henderson would honor our Big Deal after the expiration date of June 23, 2013 as we received the estimate prior. When I asked what the typical wait time would be to service clients in my area - 3 months, or 6 months perhaps? - or if I would have to wait indefinitely until I heard from them, she suggested that I contacted Angie's List to request a refund. Nancy was polite, but I give Henderson an F for responsiveness. It does not instill confidence nor trust in a customer when a service provider cannot provide an honest, direct answer as to their service area or to the expected date of service. This experience was disappointing and, unfortunately, an unnecessary waste of time to me as a customer.

I purchased an online deal of $200 in October. Once the purchase was made, I called the number to schedule the pruning. I was told that someone would call back to schedule coming out to give us an estimate of the job. Weeks went by without hearing from them. I called back and told them that I had not heard from anyone to come and do the estimate. Finally, someone did call and I scheduled the appointment. When he arrived and began preparing a quote, I realized I had made a mistake by letting him know about the deal I purchased. I should have let him quote my for the trees I wanted pruned, and only then let him know that I had the coupon. The reason being that I don't have a clue whether I actually got a good deal or not. I don't really know if I received $200 worth of trimming. So that would be my recommendation others...let a company quote the work and then tell them you purchased a coupon. When the actual service date arrived, they did arrive close to the scheduled time. The trees that were quoted did indeed get trimmed. The verdict is still out regarding the quality of work. it has taken a growing season to see whether it was well done. I am not sure whether I would use the service again.

They were good. They trimmed two different trees in two different locations. I did have to ask them to do a bit more after they said they were done, both times. Both times they did end up doing it for me, but I was glad I asked them to trim more, as the trees still needed a bit more.

I got an estimate from them and another company (I used previously and they were about the same, but I had a coupon ($400 for $800 worth of work) so went with them. The guys showed up 2 hours early but the job was a lot more then either of us thought so I was a good thing they did. The palm had either grown a lot in the 5 months since the estimate or both companies got it wrong because it took almost 4 hours. The guys were great and went ahead with the job even though they said it was more than they expected. They took it down to a low stump with only minimal damage to surrounding trees and plants which had grown into it. They only A-minus I would give would be on quality as the clean up was not perfect, but it was such a pain to get down I didn't ask them to clean up the rest of the sawdust from the bed, few pieces of bark that fell into other plants etc. I would definately hire them again.

Using our coupon, we wanted some tree trimming but discovered that the coupon was not sufficient to do the trees we hoped to have trimming. We amended our project, spent an additional $200 and got the most important trees trimmed. The men did an excellent job.

They understood what I wanted and did it. They didn't break anything and hauled away their mess. They didn't take too long and the price was as quoted. Everything was quite acceptable.

This was a great company to work with. It was easy to schedule. I did have some trouble the day I was scheduled only because the trimmers were late and didn't notify me. This caused me to call around to see if they were coming. But, when they arrived, they did a wonderful job and exceeded my expectations.

They were prompt and did a good job removing the tree. We did not like how much debris (sawdust) they left behind.

Workmen were polite and knowledgeable. They had prior experience here, with these trees. They made a successful effort to follow our instructions re the overall shape of the trees. We would certainly continue to use them to maintain these trees. The Pines are on a very steep slope, and are difficult to reach, the workmen did not complain about the obvious difficulties involved.

The service went fine. They got the tree out and did a great job. I had no issues with their work.

They had to reschedule one time since their mulcher wasnt working the day originally scheduled, but they were prompt in letting me know. Before the job they came out and walked the yard with me going over the scope of work and then provided a quote. On the day of service they arrived on schedule and performed the work we had discussed. The only problem I had was that a couple of the large branches they trimmed from high up fell on some hibiscus bushes below breaking some of there limbs. I don't know if they even realized it and I didn't until after they left. Overall I was satisfied and would use them again.

They came in wihle I was at work and did a great job. Everything was clean when they left. They were friendly and very flexible.

The workers were prompt, courteous and professional and I will definitely call them again for future tree work.

The Henderson Tree Service people showed up with an army ready to go to work. They trimmed five different trees and hauled away all the waste in a matter of two hours. Amazing work. They were here at the time they promised and before I knew it, they were finished and driving away. If you need tree service, I would say to give Henderson a call.
