Since I've lived in my home for over 10 years, the place never got a thorough spring cleaning. I'm expecting guests and my house was dingy. So much needed be done it was overwhelming. Mr. Michaels made a preliminary visit. He was punctual and very polite and friendly. He didn't try to sell me on anything. We went through the entire house and discussed what needed to be done. He gave me clear details on what he interpreted needed doing and we made a plan. He explained how many days he thought it would take and how many  people would be helping him do the work.  
 The following week on the agreed upon date and time, he and his workers came on time with smiles on their faces. Mr. Michaels introduced me to each worker and explained what they'd be doing. The house was abuzz with activity.
When I returned from work on the first day, the place was sparkling, and they'd only just begun! I was so pleased. The next two days were the same with Mr. Michaels and crew coming on time, with smiling faces and getting to work. They did everything from washing windows and cleaning baseboards, to detailing grout in the bathrooms and cleaning the soap scum off a glass shower door.
Long story short, I was so happy, that I made an appointment with Mr. Michaels and his crew to come back before the holidays.

The experience was amazing. Dennis and his team were consummate professionals. Their care and attention to detail was exquisite. We didn't even think it was possible for our house to look this good! We threw a party the following day and many of the guests went out of their way to comment on how clean everything was.  The most impressive thing, however, was how Dennis went and above and beyond to provide customer service without parallel. His team accidentally broke a salt shaker -- and Dennis personally drove to an antique shop on Sunset Blvd to replace it with a comparable piece. It was a really nice gesture and one that won't be forgotten by this homeowner anytime soon. I would gladly recommend Dennis and his team to anyone who wants their house to sparkle and shine in ways they never imagined!

My house is cleaned in a normal fashion every week but when Dennis came over to do his initial assessment, I could see his brows furrow (in the politest way possible)as he took in the scope of the job.  You see, he sees dirt in a savant-like way, noticing every speck of grime, every stained bit of grout and he itches to get at it.  Yet he is a lovely guy, instantly likable who evokes immediate trust.  After he gave me the estimate, Dennis & his crew arrived for the day and a half job exactly on time.  If you've read the other reviews, you don't need me to tell you how meticulous he and his crew are, nor how hard they work, nor how nice they are, nor how perfectly clean my house was when they were finished.  Let me just say that in my many years with Angie's List I've never had anyone do a better job.  As if that weren't enough, he did quite a bit of extra cleaning for free. What else can I say?  There's no one like him. He's worth every penny and probably a  lot more.

If Dennis and his crew would live with me, I'd happily put their names on my mail box!   This is the 3rd time I have used the brilliant services of Dennis Michaels and his team.  #1 - Years ago, my husband was suffering from chronic respiratory infections; Dennis and his team came and cleaned, scrubbed, dusted, vacuumed and sanitized every inch of my 3-bedroom house, including closets, drawers, mattresses, box springs and pillows; anywhere that dust mites could possibly hide.  #2 - We have 4 cats and needed to "de-cat" the house in preparation for a visitor with allergies. In 11/2012, Dennis and his team came again and with a wave of their magic cleaning tools and brilliant attention to detail, my visitor survived the 4 day visit with very few problems.   And, finally, #3 - last week, the cement floor in my office was demolished and rebuilt.  But the construction crew didn't properly insulate the rest of the office area.  As a result, cement dust was everywhere and in huge quantities.  Dennis and his team, once again, went above and beyond all possible expectations and attention to detail.   They cleaned and re-cleaned every wall, ceiling, floor, window, screen, shelf, counter, appliance, desk, chair, ceiling fixture, book, telephone, computer cable, pocket door and anything else they could reach and touch.   For hours this team focused on ridding my office of abrasive cement dust without causing any damage to the surfaces they were cleaning... absolutely brilliant!!

Family members were about to arrive the following week and our house was very grubby and the windows were filthy!  We searched Angie's list to find a cleaning service and although initially Mr. & Mrs. Mike & Son seemed a bit more pricey than others, the reviews were great and we decided to call.  Dennis Michaels came to give us an estimate and we were immediately impressed with his great attitude and knowledge of cleaning.  He worked with us to find the best ways to make the most of our budget and gave us a detailed and comprehensive estimate sheet.
Dennis and his cleaning team arrived promptly and were soon working at their various jobs.  We were really happy that Dennis stayed the entire day: he was able to supervise and keep the whole job moving along.  His team were great and worked hard cleaning the kitchen, bathrooms and all the windows inside and out. At the end of the day the house looked wonderful!  Dennis and his team were so friendly and efficient that it really was an enjoyable experience.
We feel that Dennis Michaels not only understands all about cleaning but he also really cares about doing a good job which makes all the difference.  We can thoroughly recommend his cleaning service, Mr. & Mrs. Mike & Son, and we definitely plan on using it again.

Dennis and his crew were everything I had hoped they would be. I was getting a neglected 3-level townhouse ready for sale and needed a deep, deep cleaning – far more than a standard "maids" job. I had read many of the Angie’s List reports and liked what I read. Dennis came first for a look-see and to give me a quote for the job. I found it refreshing that Dennis was another extremely organized person (we're very rare) and had a detailed checklist (!!) he used as we went through my home. When we sat down afterwards, he discussed all of the tasks in detail and made sure I was clear on everything that he proposed to do. While the cost was a bit higher than I had figured on, it was reasonable for the scope of the work. Again, this was a “deep” cleaning, not just visible surfaces. Dennis’ crew was thorough and efficient and did a terrific job. I was very happy with the results and my real estate agent was quite surprised at how my place turned out. “Sparkling” is not a word that’s usually in my vocabulary – but it definitely applies here.

We bought a house that was in such a filthy state that we could not move into it. Dennis came to meet us and gave us a detailed evaluation of what it would take to make the house inhabitable. I could tell that his attention to detail was going to be exactly what was needed for this huge, overwhelming project. We hired him at once. He and his four-person crew spent four full days cleaning the house. They were cheerful, flexible, and very, very good at their job. Special attention was paid to brass fixtures and antique glass. I could not believe the transformation of the house when they were finished. We moved in, secure in the knowledge that the house was clean and safe.Dennis Michaels is an absolute angel. He is kind, funny, honest, and meticulous. He has my very highest recommendation, and I will always remember him with fondness and gratitude.

Dennis Michaels was prompt, professional and extremely careful of all work done in my home. He was there from start to finish with his crew and monitored all work done. He showed his true expertise and was exceptionally detailed. I never found any other service provider who cared about my home as much as he and his crew did. They shined, no pun intended, on all counts. I will definitely call them again.

Dennis arrived on time with two women and one other man.  Dennis does not merely supervise - he actively takes part in the cleanup.  The four of them were methodical, thorough, and determined.  Dennis told me that in the case of the travertine floor, it was simply not possible to remove the dust by hand.  He told me this only after one of his crew had gone over the floor of the front bedroom three times with a wet mop.  They were only able to remove the dust to Dennis's satisfaction by using a machine.  There was no extra charge for this.
Dennis and his crew were on-site, working steadily, for five hours.  When they left, we had a house we could move into with pleasure.
Is he expensive?  In my opinion, yes.
Is he worth it?  In my opinion, yes.  I completely got my money's worth.
Would I recommend him?  Absolutely.
Would I use him again?  Absolutely.

Went very well.  Arrived on time and they worked straight through until the job was completed.

     Dennis was there all the time to supervise his people.  He was very easy to do business with; personable and knowledgeable.  Before he did any work we signed a contract detailing everything they would do.  It was an expensive project, but when it was all done, we decided we got our money's worth.  The house shined.  We were amazed at the transformation.   They were on time, and worked very hard.  Dennis came back the day after they were finished to clean up something they had missed.. No hassle, no problems.   I highly recommend them.

My house sparkled when Dennis and his crew were finished!  Dennis returned my weekend call promptly and arranged for an inspection meeting for the first working day of the week.  He made his estimate on a very detailed pre-printed form, which was very appealing to me, since I am a stickler for detail. His crew appeared promptly at 9am and did not leave until they were completely finished at 6:30pm !  Besides doing everything he specified in his bid, Dennis did many "extra'" things such as mounting the venetian blinds, repairing the blind brackets,  improvising a way to install a slightly too small screen, and above all, pointing out problems that needed attention that I had not observed.  One of these was a slow flushing toilet.  Further investigation revealed a clogged sewer system which I was able to get resolved before they finished cleaning the bathrooms. He did not charge me anything for the extra handyman work or for the length of time over his estimate that it took to complete the job.  He is a perfectionist and will treat your home just like his own.  He made my windows shine and "let in the outdoors."

I especially appreciated his good nature about working around an electrician who was making an emergency repair and then around the drain man.(He had to re-wash the bathroom floor when the drain man was finished.)

Don't hire anyone else !

We had a total house remodel and the construction dust was everywhere! Based on reviews I called Dennis and within a day he was at the house to review the job and give an estimate. I knew I could get a cleaning for cheaper, but I knew Dennis would get the job done right and he would be sensitive to our particular situation (I am 9 months pregnant!). I felt the money would be well spent. He had a very detailed check list that he used to catalog the scope of work and we were able to find a day to have the house cleaned. On that day, Dennis and his crew of 3 lovely ladies arrived on time and with their own supplies, stepstools, etc. Dennis was at my house all day, which made me feel really good about going about my day and not needing to be home the whole time. He took me through everything they were going to do and even added a couple things on the spot without charging me extra. He was so pleasant to work with and I also feel that he treats his employees really fairly, which is important to us. I would highly recommend this service!

I have used this company for basic housekeeping services for over two years.  Dennis Michaels and his crew have always done exceptional work.  Recently, however, I asked them to complete a "deep clean" of a rental property.  The previous tenant had left the place filthy, and several contractors performing repairs in the unit had added to the mess.  Bottom line:  The place was a disaster.  As usual, Michaels and crew, worked their magic.  The place was so beautiful when they were done that I almost cried.  It looked as new as the day I purchased the property.  In fact, the unit had been remodeled over six years ago, yet several potential tenants touring the unit had asked if it was newly remodeled.  We highly recommend Dennis Michaels of Mr & Mrs Mike & Son.  Thanks again Mike for coming to our rescue!

They went above and beyond.  They were only to spend 8 hours but they spent 14 hours cleaning.  They such a good job I did not even recognize my own house!  It was a pleasure having them out and I will definitely have them back.  I have already recommended them and would continue to recommend them to everyone.

We met Dennis when we called for "help" in getting our home cleaned and organized after having moved in 1.5 years ago. With 2 working professionals, it's been extremely difficult to see the furniture between the boxes. 

We were pleasantly surprised after Dennis' 1st visit to assess the job. He wasn't scared about taking on our 2000 sq foot  - 2BR, 2bath home. we were impressed with his ability to quickly and professionally evaluate our needs and we subsequently agreed to give him the job after having received 2 other cleaning proposals from competing companies. Dennis Michaels Cleaning service is a 1st class operation. Especially impressive was his ability to clearly explain the different levels of service [and price] he could deliver. We did not feel like we were being "railroaded" in any way, since he did not come in and just throw out one figure to clean the whole house. He broke it down into how much or how little YOU wanted to go. From his vast experience he clearly and skillfully explains the choices of how he customizes his services for your space, which made it refreshingly personalized. 

No window, wooden floor, kitchen cabinet, ceramic tile grout, shower glass enclosure was overlooked - every detail of our home was given love over 2 days of labor of Dennis and his staff of 4. 

Dennis' indefatigable good humor and willingness to go the extra mile to the job done was commendable. He even called us to source where we store our light bulbs for our porch light fixture replacement. We can't recommend Dennis to Angie's List highly enough.

Our house had been somewhat neglected for the last year since we had to let our house keeper go due to the recession. We have a large house and its been near impossible for my husband and I, both working parents, to keep up with the housecleaning. With overseas guests and family coming to stay, we needed some help fast. Dennis met with us, helped us select which "battles to fight" and arranged his schedule to meet our schedule (which was rather last minute). 

Dennis and his team spent three days cleaning every inch of the areas that we discussed. When finished, our house was actually cleaner than the day we bought it. Dennis and his team are miracle workers! They are personable, detail oriented, took direction well and were very pleasant to have in our home. Dennis went out of his way each day to go over the jobs completed and to take input on those areas we thought could use just a bit more work. There weren't many of those as Dennis is pretty picky about that work that he and his team completes. 

I hardly recognized my house when they were finished. Even though we are hiring a regular cleaning service, we will still be hiring Dennis and his team to complete spring and fall cleanings as I don't believe anyone can clean a house as well as they can.

Dennis arrived shortly after my call to him.  He walked through the house, completed a detailed checklist, quoted a price (which was over my budget) - and worked with me to take things off the list that weren't as dire, provided a discount, and hit my number.  We agreed that his team would start at 9, and finish around 5:30.  They arrived promptly - early in fact (as I found them sitting outside, awaiting the appropriate hour to arrive, so I invited them in.)  They set up their materials and immediately started to work.  Each one hand their assignments and were well versed in how to do their tasks.  One removed items from shelves, cleaned the items and dusted the shelves and replaced things perfectly.  Another commenced on sanitizing the bathroom.  Another started on glass items; detailing chandeliers (including one that hangs so high it had never been cleaned), and windows, and another set about vacuuming furniture.  As the day progressed, they each progressed to other tasks.  The outcome is this:  My house positively gleams. 

Were there any problems?  Honestly, no.  The company was professional from start to finish.  This is a company of people you can trust to care for your home like you do yourself.  Or - perhaps even better!

Here's the bottom line:  They are not inexpensive, but this is a world where you get what you pay for.  Cleaning something with the wrong solution or material creates damage, and Dennis and his team use the right cleansers, have the right tools, and come with more commitment, dedication, professionalism and  "elbow grease" than I've ever seen.

Would I hire them again?  Indisputedly yes...in fact, I already have.

I would also give Dennis Michaels an A+!  I liked Dennis right away; he is so nice and has such enthusiasm for his work.  He went through every room with me very thoroughly and asked me what I wanted done in that room.  He makes suggestions but won't do something unless you want him to.  For example, he asked me if I wanted them to take out light fixtures to clean the insides, and I told him that wasn't necessary, just clean the outsides.  They also won't take books down from shelves to clean them or take things out of cabinets to clean them, unless you ask him to do that. The paper he has to itemize the quote is extremely detailed and he went over it thoroughly.  Although the price was higher than I thought I'd be paying based on some of the other prices shown in the reviews, I realized it was fair because this has been our family home for 45 years and we've never had any professional cleaning done before!  (Also, it was so many hours of work with so many people, and very hard work.)  Though of course my mother did clean and I helped, things got harder for her as she got older, and harder for me as well.  I've lived here alone since 2005 and it's too hard for me (due to a chronic illness) to do the tougher cleaning jobs like washing windows and scrubbing the shower, so I had just let that stuff go!  Also, there was a lot of cigarette smoke soil on walls from some years ago, including in the living room which is large and has shutters, so that was a huge job for them to wash it all, and the walls look a lot better. I could go on with details like how the shower tile looks brand new, the wood floors are shiny, and the oven is cleaner than I remember ever seeing it, but the bottom line is that I don't feel depressed about the state of the house now!  After so many years of things getting worse & worse, it feels great!!  Now that it's clean, this will give me the incentive to keep up with dusting and other light cleaning.  Dennis told me I'll never have to have this deep of a cleaning done again, because of the level of dirt that had built up, but I would like to hire him and his crew periodically for touch-ups.  He also told me not to hesitate to call him if I have any questions about cleaning.  He has been doing this work since he was a boy and is an expert on how to clean everything.

Too bad an A+ isn't an option. Dennis could not be nicer. So knowledgeable, devoted to his work , and kind, it is a pleasure to work with him. He knows a home inside and out, right side up and upside down and where the dirt is. Super prompt and thorough in his intake, with consideration to anything a home would need. Extraordinarily communicative and careful with love for your home. Once again, very professional with his team who take great care to cover/drape everything so as to care for the surfaces. Remarkable in how they will come as a group and take on elements of the home, top to bottom. Get out the sunglasses for when they are done so you are ready for the shine ! When they are done, you would really need to look for a place that hasn't been cared for properly. Makes it fun to create a mess knowing you can invite Dennis back...

Dennis Michaels came over the same day I called and meticulously went through what I needed.  He has a very extensive order sheet for his staff that clearly lays out what will be done.  Mr. Michaels was very clear about what would happen and what the cost would be.  There were no hidden charges.  The job was set up right when I was talking to him and he stuck to the dates. Mr. Michaels brings his staff with him and supervises them.  I felt comfortable with him at the house. Mr. Michaels is very good about communicating with you on when they are coming and what all the day will progress like. The house and windows are spotless and my family belongings have been carefully cleaned.  The staff were really nice and very hard workers. The job took a day and a half and there was a lot of work to do.
