Competitively priced, they appeared on time, finished the job on time and as promised, very professionally done; taking care of the cable issue, and the fence. Nice clean up job, too. I'm very happy with the company.

The man who came out was able to give me a detailed, itemized estimate on the spot. They came out when he said they would to do the work. They were very professional and cleaned up well. The prices were fair as well. And most importantly the job was well done.

Prompt bid, Showed up on time, Great crew. Very careful about hauling debris through yard and not damaging plants. They offered a discount if we kept some of the wood, received a bill for the full amount, paid bill and pointed out we kept some of the wood, They sent us check for the discount after we paid the bill with a nice note.

Ponderosa was very responsive, had someone come out quickly to give an estimate and showed up on time not long after to do the work. Work done quickly and any resulting mess cleaned up without needed to ask. All together a very professional experience. Note: The amount I listed here may be off - I had someone else billed for the work and did not send them a check myself.

Ponderosa came out promptly and when he said he would. His estimate was way too much money for us. So we probably won't go with him. We will get a second bid so we can get a comparison of prices.

Excellent folks to work with. Arrived right on time, and finished in about 3 1/2 hours. Cheerful, friendly, even funny sometimes. I think there were about six in the crew, but they never stood still long enough for me to count!

They did what they said they would do. I have no complaints.

Overall the service was good. They did have an English speaking individual on the job that did a walk thru with me after the job was completed. A couple of days later, I noticed that there were some low level dead limbs left on the trees, I also feel that the thinning of the Redwoods could have been done a little more thorough.

Their price was good. We set up an appointment with them, and they did not show up on that day and did not call. When I called, they were very apologetic because they were very busy and set up another appointment. They did end up taking 10% off our final bill because of this issue. They did a satisfactory job, so I would use them again in the future. I would also recommend them to others.

One thing that amazed me was that he had a printer in his truck so he gave me a signed and printed estimate. He also gave me a copy of his insurance. He did amazing work. In two and a half hours they were completely done, and you couldn't even tell that they had been there. They even came early and moved some of the things that I hadn't moved for them, and they put them back.

He was very nice and straight forward. He told me that the tree was fine and that it needed a different type of care. He didn't charge me for the tree consultation and he then went ahead and did the work and also gave me an estimate on some oak trees and I will probably have them back out to do the trimmings on those. The estimated are very reasonable.

Mike Veneziano arrived promptly to give an estimate, and at that time he showed his expertise in listening to our needs and in making suggestions. He went out to his truck and returned with an estimate immediately! The price was reasonable in comparison with other estimates. We arranged a work date within the week, and Mike, himself, came with the crew. Within four hours, the job was done. The premises were left in perfect condition, and we were very happy with the work.

Michael did not show up for the first appointment, but we made another and he came and apologized profusely for having missed the first one. He gave us an estimate, which was in the ball park with another one our neighbor got. Since the tree is mostly on their property, they chose their gardener's services to do the job. We were very satisfied with Michael--he's a very nice guy and everything he told us about the job made sense. If it had been up to us alone to decide, we would have given the job to him.

I have a Walnut tree in my back yard that I've been trimming myself for years. Needless to say it was time to bring in a professional. I only called Ponderosa. It wasn't going to be a huge job and previous reviews on Angie's List were glowing, so I did not get multiple estimates. I know, that's breaking the rules. I called on a Tuesday around 3:00 pm. Around 5:00 pm Mike was here to give me an estimate of $450 which I accepted. At 5:30 pm another Mike called from the office to set up a time to do the work. Here is where I was really impressed. I had a coupon for 10% off that I forgot to mention when I received the estimate. I mentioned it to Mike and without me even asking he said "no problem" and applied the discount. The crew was here the very next day and did a fantastic job.

Mike appeared within an hour, promptly identified the tree (it's not in my tree book), described one of the problems with the tree, and was completely straightforward about his uncertainty about the other problem. He took a sample, consulted with a colleague, and called me back about 3 hours later with the full story, plus estimates for trimming the diseased portions of the tree and for removing it. He also assured me that the problem was strictly cosmetic and that such work was in no way "necessary." I was extremely impressed with his promptness, his knowledge, as well as his ability to say "I don't know, I'll find out for sure." (And I was also impressed with his Japanese pruning saw.) The next time I need some tree work done, I'll call him first.

Excellent, prompt and friendly service from start to finish. Everything was done exactly as we were told it would be. Very nice crew. Excellent safety standards, great attention to detail. I am recommending them to everyone.

The estimator arrived on time, was pleasant, informative, professional, and comprehensive in evaluating the job. He clearly discussed the options and assessed my needs. Scheduling changed because a storm arrived when they were due at my house. Since our work was not time critical, rescheduling was perfectly acceptable. (I actually appreciated knowing that, if I had critical storm damage, I could count on them for emergency response.) The work traditionally takes one day, but because they started on a Friday afternoon, it stretched over two. The crew clearly worked well together, liked what they did and communicated effectively throughout the job. The crew chief introduced himself and kept me informed of their progress. They cleaned up before leaving each time. They did an excellent job on both trees, but especially the Oak. They opened up the canopy allowing much more light and air into the yards. The end result included, in equal parts, practicality and artistry.

Very friendly and professional, and they really seem to know their stuff. They did a walk through when they gave me the estimate and made recommendations about what was needed. They were very fast and I thought the price was more than reasonable.

Kerry Bliss who scoped the job is very personable. We discussed what was to be done, and he took notes. He did not accompany the crew when they did the work. His instructions to the crew, however, were incomplete, and not everything that we had agreed on was done. I was able to contact him immediately, and the crew came back to complete the job the same day. Their tree work is done with a good aesthetic sense.

The estimator and job foreman, Michael Veneziano, were very friendly and professional, knew their business, gave me good advice, and managed the job well. They sent about 6 men to get the job done quickly. The team worked together well and seemed to be enjoying themselves at the same time. I'll definitely call them next time I need tree service. Since other companies never returned my calls, I wasn't able to compare prices, so I can't comment on that.
