Ponderosa Tree Service

Everything went well. Kerry came out to give the estimate. He listened very carefully to what we wanted. Sent his estimate as promised. Today, Johnny ran the crew that came to do the work. He was very attentive as I explained what I wanted. Repeatedly, during the work, he sought me out for my input - which is what I had requested. The crew worked carefully and quickly. When the work was finished the clean-up was thorough. I would use Ponderosa again.

It went extremely well. Michael's staff is very professional and friendly, from the moment you call the office, to the final clean up. Michael and Javier showed up promptly to provide the estimate, John worked with me to revise the estimate, and the appointment was made very quickly for the following week. The pruning team arrived and started to work in the back yard, then the cleanup team arrived, and then the stump-grinding crew. I was kept apprised at all times of what they were doing, and when they had questions, they didn't proceed with the work until we were both in agreement. The trees were pruned beautifully - Francisco is, indeed, an artist - and the shrubs were removed so professionally that you'd never think any large, overgrown plant had ever been there. Safety is clearly important, as everyone wore hard hats, harnesses, and safety goggles. They took extra care with the plants next to the house, and were very mindful of my neighbors' yards. They left my yard cleaner than when they arrived. Ponderosa's work is outstanding and their prices are very competitive. I don't plan on using anyone else to care for my trees and shrubs.

Michael came out and he is very informative, professional, and courteous. I haven't yet decided to go forward with the job.

Scheduling an estimate was easy and Michael showed up right on time. He was very nice and friendly and gave me a good assessment on all the trees we had inherited with our new home. 2 palm trees in the front lawn, an orange tree, lemon tree, and banana tree in the backyard. He gave me estimates for different options and that was it. We ended up not going ahead with the tree service mainly cause we have so many other home projects going on at the moment, but when we do need some tree work done we will definitely be calling Michael!

Kerry Bliss came out and looked over the work I needed done. The next day I received an estimate and scheduled the work. The crew arrived on time. We reviewed the work to be done and they quickly and efficiently got it all done in 3 hours. They cleaned up all the debris. The Palm Tree removal was interesting - the neighbors even brought out lawn chairs to watch. I would highly recommend Ponderosa.

They promptly and professionally gave a bid via that was very reasonable. I ended up using another company.

The workers were very professional. The workers new how to trim the tree. They cleaned up really well after themselves. They were very good.

The work was scheduled for a Friday but it rained and they decided to do all the Friday work on Saturday. Saturday was not raining and they arrived in the afternoon and went right to work with about 5 workers. There were about 3 guys in the back pruning the trees and two in the front trimming the hedge. It took them about 1-1/2 hours -- the results were very impressive. Before they left they cleaned up all the branches, etc. It was a very pleasurable experience and I won't hesitate to use their services again.

They were late for the inspection and estimate, but they called to let me know. Their price of $600 was 2/3 the price of the next bid at $900. They couldn't give me a time on the day they were going to come for service, so I planned to be home the whole day -- a moderate annoyance. The crew was friendly and professional. They did a great job and made sure I was satisfied with the work before they climbed down from the tree.

They were a bit slow sending an estimate after looking at the trees, but to be fair I asked for the estimate when they came to do work for my next-door neighbor and they were very busy. The estimate was good: much lower than the tree service I normally use. Ponderosa's estimate was not the lowest, but they were the most professional and amiable of the companies who gave lower estimates. The office staff was very nice and helpful when I called to inquire about the estimate, which I got the next day. The estimate clearly showed (in a drawing) of which trees were to be pruned, and the per-tree prices clearly reflected the size of the trees. The crew that did the work was right on time, and were professional and amiable. The pruning looks great. They cleaned up very well before they left. They even blew the pine needles off my roof and back deck! They respected my wishes and kept out of the front garden, even though that would have been the easiest path to access the trees. My only gripe is minor. I got the invoice about 5 days after the job, and it was marked as due in 30 days. On Friday 7/22 (one week after the work was done), the owner called and asked if he could come pick up the check that very day. I didn't have my checkbook at work with me, and couldn't go home to get it mid-day. We arranged for him to come by my house at 10:30 AM on Saturday the 23rd. He never showed, nor did he call to tell me he would not be coming. I mailed the check Monday the 25th, after he didn't respond to my phone call to tell him I'd mail it if he didn't come to my house for it. While inconvenient, it certainly won't stop me from using them again.

I called them to ask about a leaning tree and Michael came out. I would have spent money if he told me there was a problem, but he was totally honest and we discussed why the tree was leaning (We'd pruned it on one side) and he looked at another tree I may have to have removed eventually due to fungus. I highly recommend him. Honesty, was there early (after calling to see if that was ok) and a really nice guy who knows his trees. He deserves your business.

The arborist Michael that came out to inspect the tree was great. He arrived on time and gave me some good advice for the other 2 trees (the still alive ones!). The crew came out a week or so later and removed the tree pretty quickly. They actually arrived a bit early, but that was ok. They removed the tree in less than 4 hours. A plant and a few ornamental things lost their lives (I kinda wish they had told me to remove the ornamental stuff, but it was only about $10 in damage, no biggie). They cleaned up the mess as best as they could (my front yard looked like the bottom of a hamster cage!). They left behind some mulch/ground cover and a large stack of firewood (I told them I had a wood fireplace). It was very nice of them to cut it and stack it for me. All and all, I'd totally use them again.

Overall, they were good. Their price and quality was good. They were responsive, punctual and professional. I would use them again in the future.

The service from Ponderosa was awesome from the beginning!!!!! I called for an estimate, the owner, Mike, came out the very next day. He was very patient, professional, knowledgeable and thorough in explaining what he thought should be done with the tree. He said they could very successfully trim the tree. He promptly gave us an estimate. When we called to accept the estimate, they scheduled us for the very next morning. The crew arrived promptly the next morning. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! You would not believe how beautifully they trimmed the tree!!!! We were awestruck. The head of the crew, Francisco, said he was an artist.....AND HE IS!!!! On a scale of one to ten I gave them a FIFTEEN!!!!!!!!! Not only that, but I said I wanted to save the lemons. I said I would remove them from the cut limbs. But they said they would remove them for me......they just needed a tub. Well, they filled a huge tub and then asked for another. I felt like they had done enough, but they insisted. THEY FILLED TWO HUGE TUBS WITH LEMONS when they had enough to do. Watching them gingerly pick the lemons was enough to make me recommend them to all I know!!!! They did a super thorough job cleaning up. I wish I could include before and after pics of the tree....what they did was amazing and super reasonable. Now when I walk around and see overgrown trees I feel like knocking on people's door and tellling them to call Ponderosa Tree Service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't recommend them highly enough. I would have more projects done around my house if I could always get such stellar service. Thank you Ponderosa!!!!

I got them off the list. I spent $300 on that work. They were competent and very reasonable. I though one tree needed work and they told me it did not. They could have easily don?t the work and charged me for it. I had some suggestions which they followed and they were also careful not to do any damage to the tree.

I'd gotten an estimate for just the lemon tree and stump removal back in December (see previous report) and finally called when I needed some other work as well. Michael came out to give estimate, price was excellent and was able to schedule work that week. The only hiccup was that at first the lemon tree cabling wasn't done as agreed, but when I called it was remedied right away. Considering that the tree required a somewhat unusual solution, it was understandable. Very happy with overall service and price.

At my initial call they promised to have someone out the next day to give me an estimate, and they did. He was professional and friendly and gave me a written estimate on the spot. I accepted as the price seemed reasonable but I didn't get any other estimates as I was in a hurry. Only problem was some miscommunication about when the work would be performed - I thought he said the next day. I may have been mistaken. When I called the company back they said that I needed to call and schedule. They sent a crew the next day at the appointed time. They were fast and efficient, cleaned up all debris, didn't disturb anything else and left. I was pleased with the service.

I called just before Christmas with some rather vague questions about the trees in my yard. Mike offered to come out and look at them, on the week between Christmas & New Year's no less. He answered all of our questions, gave us tips on pruning and non-toxic pest control, and offered to give us an estimate on removing a stump and redoing the supports on our prized lemon tree. The estimate was very reasonable, and there's no good reason that I haven't followed up and had Ponderosa come out and do the work. The stump doesn't present any major problems to me, so I just keep forgetting. I'm sure I will make use of their services soon.

The owner provided an verbal and written estimate on the spot. The quote came 30% lower than a quote I received from a different company. I was able to schedule the work w/in 1-week's time. The crew came in on time, and worked incredibly quickly. My only minor comment was when they blocked the street w/ the chipper equipment. Other than that, it was a positive and stress-free experience.

Ponderosa was very responsive with an estimate that I accepted. We had to do a couple of reschedules because of an emergency with another client and rainy weather. Pondoersoa called for 2 reschedules and were professional while discussing the need to reschedule. While I was eagar to have the stump removed sooner, I was very happy with the work. I have some other work and will certainly give Ponderosa a shot at doing the work.

They were very good. They were very professional and very efficient. They came out on time. Everything about them was good. They did a great clean-up. They cut up the tree and took away the pieces. We will use them again in the future, if required.

Overall the quality of service was good. Found Michael to be more knowledgeable than others who quoted on the job. They had to reschedule our job once because another job wasn't completed in time. A little slow replying to emails and voice messages sometimes, but always did eventually get back to me. My neighbor complimented me on how nice one of our trees looked after the pruning. Overall I am happy and in fact have contacted them for another job.
