Albert Nahman Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling

A guy came out who was nice enough, but he smelled heavily of cigarette smoke which did not mix well with rain and my asthma. He stated he the furnace could not be fixed and that the parts could not be located and that we would need to replace it with a wall unit which would require pulling permits and doing wiring/heating duct work to the tune of about 4 grand. He said he would send us a quote and never did. We were without heat for over a month until we contacted PG&E and the guy came out and lit the pilot and we have had heat ever since. Also, the guy tried to run my card through several times for payment and finally gave up saying he couldn't get a good signal. We later received a bill stating that they had been trying to reach us by phone and our card was declined. I never received a phone call from them and the card was not declined. We paid a lot of money for something that should have been free. If the guy knew anything about the type of furnace we had he should have advised us to contact PG&E to light the pilot. Additionally, when I called them and asked was there a special through Angie's List they told me no I didn't need that.

The technician was extremely helpful, courteous, and did excellent work.

this is actually my first real contact with an anglie's list recomendation. how did these ******** gather so many positive recommendations? makes me question the value of angie's list.

It went very well. Technician arrived within the first hour of the 2 hour expected time. Job was completed as stated and work place was left uncluttered and clean.

My furnace quit working about a week ago. I called a different company; they sent a technician out. He told me that the blower was frozen, and since the furnace was made in 1969 I wouldn't be able to get parts for it. He said I need a new furnace. Wonderful. His company gives me an estimate of $4800-$5300. A second company gives me an estimate for $5800-$7400. I called Albert Nahman Plumbing and Heating for the third estimate. Tony shows up on time, I tell him I've been told I need a new furnace. He takes a look at the old one, starts digging around in it, and has it working again in about 30 minutes! Tony was professional, extremely competent, and knowledgeable about the replacement process (that I no longer needed). To say that I am happy with not having to go through the hassles of a furnace replacement is an understatement! Tony saved me thousands of dollars and days of what would have been wasted time waiting for code inspections, not being able to leave the house, etc. THANK YOU!

Well--but there was supposed to be some follow up with another part.

The repair person showed up on time, quickly diagnosed the problem, had a replacement part on hand, quickly repaired the wall furnace, cleaned up the dust/debris, and did a CO2 check.

Great. Tech knew how to approach the problem, understood where the issue likely lay, quickly diagnosed. Gave us a total estimated price and then proceed to do the work. He also replaced the emergency stop valve for the toilet while he was at it. Said valve had begun to fail.

Several false starts, wrong parts (partly because the hardware being replaced was so old), short term fixes didn't work well. In the end though they made it right. I would use them again.

The work they do is very good, but I want people to know when you pay per hour you pay for them leaving the office to get to your home, you pay for their lunch, and even pay when they leave to get the parts. I feel they pad the estimate on how long it will take them to finish the job.

They responded to my request in a timely manner. The service they provided was very reasonable for an "emergency" repair and communication with the office was perfect. Highly recommend.

We decided not to use Nahman. They were timely, friendly, and very professional, but their price was a good 30% higher than another highly effective supplier..

I last used them to fix something that somebody else started and did not get it right. They did finish it up, but not quite like I thought. Generally they are pretty good. They are professional. The workers clean up after themselves and are professional.

Nathan was knowledgable and professional and did a great job explaining the problems. I was also very appreciative that he wore booties in the house. Will use again for sure.

The second time they came out was good. The time I used the Big Deal was not good. Their plumber put in a new toilet and when he carried out the old one it had blue cleaning solution in it and he completely ruined our white wool carpets. When I asked him to come back and clean it he didn't try to do that and when I asked to suggest some kind of remedy he didn't offer anything. I think it was just that particular person not the entire company because I have had them back.

It didn't. he tried to overcharge me by at least 50%. He then proceeded to play the car salesman game of calling his supervisor and "seeing what he could do". It's no wonder they are so timely and punctual, they probably do very little work and spend most of their time driving around looking for suckers.

I'm a carpenter, now retired. I have used Nahman plumbing several times over the last 16 years, and I started recommending them to my friends and customers after the first time. They have fixed it right the first time each time for me, and every time I have recommended them, my friends have thanked me afterwards and usually gushed about how good and professional they were. I'm very comfortable recommending them to anyone.

Albert Nahman Plumbing and Heating came in with lowest bid. But the reasons I chose them were different: they inspected the site the same day I called, came up with an alternate route around huge retaining walls, and hired landscapers to trench the ground, avoiding the roses. Job completed and inspected within 48 hours. You can scarcely tell where they trenched. They are honest, quick, smart, and very professional! Kudos!

The project manager, Mike, was thorough in walking me through the pre-project and available 24/7 for the entire job for any questions or concerns. The foremen, Rafi and Damien were on top of every aspect of this major job and even stayed late to make sure everyone was set up correctly for the evening, even though the job was not finished. The crew showed up on time, if not early, polite and respectful, did a great job. This is the second major job I've hired them for because the first job was so professional and went so smooth.

The plumbers who came to the house were consistently good. Although I had a negative experience with the main office, the actual plumbers that came to do the work did a good job, were prompt, friendly, and helpful. But everything else was difficult. It took 3 months of visits (every 2 or 3 weeks) to fix a faucet: an initial repair that didn't work, a follow on visit, finally a faucet getting replaced, and then replacing that faucet because it didn't meet expectations set. Follow up calls (to select a faucet for example) were promised but never made. I always had to call and track someone down, and usually multiple calls. The initial faucet they put in did not meet the expectations set. I spoke to Albert on the phone, and he quite reasonably agreed to replace it and do a partial refund. When the plumber arrived a week later, he had no idea that such an arrangement had been made and spent 1/2 an hour on the phone trying to track down someone who did. They never did reach Albert, but did replace the faucet for free, although I never did receive the partial refund. They also tried to sell me a "premier customer" service for a monthly fee. Which, obviously, seems pretty absurd.

Great. Quick and professional.

I contacted Albert Nahman on 2/5/16 to schedule an estimate to put a water softener in. I was contacted by the customer service manager who said someone would be there tomorrow (2/6). I was contacted on the afternoon of 2/6 and told the estimator could not make it and he will need to look at the estimator's schedule and get back to me. Well he did get back to me the next day (2/7) and told me the estimator was still tied up and he will have to get back to me as to when he could schedule this. I received nothing Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and by Thursday I said forget it and contacted another plumber.

Sal was friendly and professional. Really a super nice guy. My husband and I did not feel rushed at all. He did a really good job.

Overall went well. Plumber was very good at his job. On one of the faucets because the pipe extruding from the wall was made of copper and short, it took a while longer to do. Plumber was courteous and prompt. I had purchased a $139 coupon but the job cost me $120 more which was a surprise.
