Albert Nahman Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a plumber. I paid over $200 for this company to come out and fix my toilet. He service technician came out for about 15 minutes and then told me that he could not fix the toilet, but he has it working now. He then tried to sell me new toilets for my home. The toilet completely fell apart fifteen minuets later after he left my home. I proceeded to call the Customer Service department, and the told me they would send someone else, but they could not guarantee the problem was fixed. The service technician came back two days later. He was complaining, rude, and being very unprofessional. He then told me that he doesn't deal with residential homes, just large companies. His conduct was to terrible, I canceled the check and asked him to leave my home. I main complaint was that he was not honest with me the first time.

They did a good job with the concrete work. They knew what they were doing, and they worked hard to fix all the problems. They are very straight forward with the pricing, and they have excellent quality work. They were also very responsive as well.

We had a problem with our kitchen faucet--not enough pressure to trigger the instant hot water heater, so were only getting cold water. Also, we had had a leak on that faucet for months, so we knew it was probably time to replace at least the handle. Albert Nahman looked like a good bet on Angie's List, so I took advantage of the discount "membership" so that we could get a discount on a new faucet if that became necessary. The company representative came in record time--apparently he had a break so could come over earlier than arranged--and very carefully went through the process of finding the problem. Corroded nipples seemed to be the culprit. Mike, the plumber, explained that he could clean them out if we chose not to purchase new nipples. He also explained that would probably take care of the leaking faucet.We chose to purchase new nipples and a new faucet, but we never felt pressured by Mike to do this. We appreciated that kind of service without the hard sell.We'll definitely be calling Albert Nahman Plumbing & Heating the next time we have a problem. And we'll most likely be talking to them when we decide to invest in full replumbing of the house (something Mike warned we should consider soon).

They were very good. All three of the toilets in the house seemed to have various problems at the same time. Rather than just replace the toilets, we decided to have someone come out and take a look and see if there was a fix that each one of them required. The guy came out and fixed them and it was great. One of them didn't' get fixed properly or efficiently. They happily came out and re-did the work without any issues at all. It was really terrific. I think their price was good. Plus, there was a discount for being an Angie's List member.

They were fine. The tech was pleasant and I haven’t had any problems since with that pipe.

tankless water heater was suddenly producing cold water mid-shower. after some diagnostics, he found that it was caused by insufficient water pressure in the shower due to a water-saving valve/filter. I removed it and walla, all fixed.

He was quick to figure out the problem and get it fixed. He was very professional and reasonable priced.

I called them because we had water damage in a bedroom. Albert Nahman plumbing helped us try to figure out how the water was coming into the house. They helped us rule out several sources. They also cleaned out the gutters in the back of the house to rule that out. They then recommended a restoration company

I sent a request for a estimate to redo my plumbing via email and within minutes I got a call from this wonderful company. The project manager came out to my house exactly at the time he said he would be here, took copious notes, measurements and inspected the plumbing underneath my house. He also made several great suggestions on how to fix the mess of pipes under and in my house from previous work done by "not so professional plumbers." The Project Manager said he would send me an estimate within 24 hours - which he did. The estimate was broken down by the area of the house, type of work to be done and the cost for each. I have never seen such a comprehensive estimate! I felt like I had finally found a plumbing company that I could trust. I agreed to the price and the work started about 2 weeks later. From the first minute they pulled up in their truck I knew I was dealing with a great company! The technicians all had on company coveralls, they covered their shoes with plastic coverings, covered the entire area that they were going to be working in my house with plastic so they wouldn't track anything inside. I had to have a few holes cut into my walls so they could access the pipes. This company handled that - I didn't have to call in a sheet rock specialist to do it. They also came back after all of the inspections to patch and re-texture the walls.They did a perfect job! They also moved a few large pieces of furniture and appliances out of the way because it was too difficult for me to do it. The technicians were here for a week and I looked forward to seeing them each day they were here. They didn't dally around - they were completely focused on their work. The Project Manager came by each morning to make sure the job was going well and to see if I had any questions. My drain pipes don't leak and now drain, I have water pressure that I haven't had since I moved here 27 years ago and beautiful new fixtures in my bathroom! I have recommended this company to all of my friends and family. I have never done business with such an incredibly caring and professional company!

1) Water heater replacement, repiping When we moved into our house, we needed to replace the water heater, and the long runs of pipe from the main and within the house were (tired) galvanized pipe. We hired Albert Nahman Plumbing & Heating to replace the water heater and to repipe the long supply runs in copper -- the previous owners had renovated the kitchen and bathroom, so the local pipe in those areas was copper already. Their price was in the middle of the three quotes we got on the work. Selling points for us were: (a) Gabe, who quoted the work and was in and out while it was being done, was incredibly friendly and helpful, and (b) they had a clear plan to run the pipe from the main WITHOUT tearing up the sidewalk. The crew showed up on time, were tidy, polite (actually, really nice), finished on time, with no evidence they were here except new plumbing. Would not hesitate to recommend. 2) Drain clearing Had an emergency drain situation in early 2011-- lost control of a pan of very hot pasta, in the sink and clogged the drain (even with the disposal). They got someone there within about an hour of the call. Otis was friendly, fixed the problem right away, and even fixed the slope of the drain pipe so it would work better. I think they might be slightly expensive for this, but I don't have a good basis for comparison-- it wound up being a bit more than $100, but the service was first rate, and I would rather pay a bit more for service of this quality.

I had used them before. They came the same day I called. They were really quick with the install. They were AMAZING! I would highly recommend them to anyone. I'm so glad I found them off Angie's List.

He was on a magazine that we get every month. He did a beautiful job. A lot of people thought they were expensive, but when they come down not everything is the same. When he came down, he told us exactly how much it is going to be. He told me it will take 4 hours, but it didn’t take 4 hours, it took 4 hours and 45 minutes, but those guys were so good, and I am amazed. Then we had an inspector come over and he really liked the job that they did. They did really good. They are not cheap, but their job is very good. I recommend them.

What started out as a simple bathroom sink replacement turned out to be a lot more complicated than we expected. We'd had several other plumbers come out and look at our problem; the drain nipple was protruding too far from the wall, and our tiny new sink didn't have enough clearance for a standard P-trap. They all scratched their heads and gave up, telling us we needed to get a larger sink. Finally, a tech from Albert Nahman showed up, a seasoned pro, and after initially having the same reaction as all the others, he stuck with it and came up with a brilliant solution. He used a 1.25" P-trap set, with bushings, instead of a 1.5" set, and it just barely cleared. Hooray! Unfortunately, in roughing in some longer pipes to our sink water supply, the tech must have dislodged some gunk in the old pipes. After he left, we noticed our toilet wasn't flushing properly. The toilet supply is immediately downstream from the sink, where he'd been working, and obviously the pipe debris had run down and clogged our toilet valve. We called to complain, and soon Albert Nahman himself called me, from his vacation, and assured me the problem would be fixed free of charge. The next morning we had a new, low-flow toilet valve in our old toilet. But within a few days it kept getting clogged up. We called Nahman and they sent another tech, who tried snaking the toilet. He found that it had been clogged, probably for years, with a metal flange that somehow got flushed down the toilet. Our old valve set had a very high water capacity, probably strong enough to overcome the blockage most of the time, but the new low-flow set had revealed the problem. They recommended replacing the whole toilet, but said it would take a few days. My wife was 8 months pregnant, and now we had no toilet at all, just a hole in the floor. Once he understood our situation, the tech immediately got on the phone, rearranged some schedules, and by the end of the day we had an excellent, high quality toilet, with all new guts, installed and working beautifully. After I buttoned up the hole in the wall, patched and re-painted, I called Nahman and they sent another tech to do the final install on the sink. It fit perfectly, and all seemed well, until the next morning, when we saw a couple of drops of water under the P-trap. Another call to Nahman, and yet another tech came out and, after several attempts, finally found the source of the leak, which turned out to be the way the faucet had been improperly attached to the sink by someone other than Nahman's techs, but they fixed it anyway, free of charge. When I'd received the first tech's original estimate for the sink replacement, I thought it was a bit pricey, but he was already there and ready to start, and he had come up with the solution with the problem, after all, so we went ahead and OK'd the work. We probably could have kept looking and found someone who would do the work for less, but in the end, I'm so glad we went with Nahman. Their techs were thorough, well-trained and beyond competent, every step of the way. Just as a telling example, every single person from Nahman who entreated our house (and by the end there were probably half a dozen) always paused at our front porch to put on little blue booties, to keep our floor clean. We received a polite follow up call after each phase of the work, just to make sure we were satisfied and that everything was OK. And, even though annoying problems kept popping up at every turn, the Nahman techs took it all in stride, and just kept working quietly until everything was perfect. Even though they had to send several techs to our house, several times, they never charged us anything above their original estimate. In the end, we got more than our money's worth, and never had any headaches, because we happened upon a truly professional company. The next time we need a plumber, I'll just call Albert Nahman, knowing they will do right by us. It's a good feeling to know there are still people out there with integrity, who take pride in their work.

He (Gabriel) was very professional, timely, and had a quote to me with in half an hour.

This wasn't an easy fix. It took three trys to get the right part. The first try was Albert Nahman's error -- the service plumber read the part number incorrectly. Michael who came with the wrong part apologized profusely, worked with the Grohe rep to track down the right part. We didn't get charged for the visit. The second try was the Grohe reps fault -- he found the wrong replacement part. We didn't get charged for the visit. The third try was the charm. Right part, quick installation and now we can take a cool shower on a hot day. Throughout the whole process Michael the plumber and all the staff at Albert Nahman's were professional, diligent and courteous. Michael was mortified that the second part was wrong and apologized profusely. Even though it took 3 attempts, it was a pleasant experience.

Our kitchen sink became clogged on a Saturday morning, we tried everything we could to unclog it from plunging, snaking with a store bought 10-ft snake and even removing a section of pipe under the sink! By Sunday the sink would still not drain, so we used called Albert Nahman. They answered my call immediately and had a technician out within a few hours. Stanley arrived and immediately went to work. First round clog would not clear, second time around he was able to finally clear the pipe. Throughout the entire process he was polite and patient with us as we stayed and watched while he worked. He talked to us the whole time providing an education for us would-be do-it-your-selfers. He even took the time to answer some other plumbing questions we had and made recommendations for us. Because of our positive experience with Stanley we will hire this company again when we begin some home improvements in the near future. All in all, it was a great experience and we should have called Albert Nahman Plumbing first before wasting a whole Saturday trying to tackle the clog ourselves!

The technician was very late. He told us we can find the part because he wasnt sure he would be able to find it. He did find it himself. He installed it, tested the work and said it would take time to confirm a fix. he left. tenant checked hot water, nothing... why would he give a false excuse of why it wasn't working at the time he left? ALSO - I used a coupon and he warned me that the coupon is to cover 20.00 off the service, but if I used it I could not use it for 50 off a new waterheater... How does he assume we will need a waterheater in the future??? This is BS! I will never use them again... Angie's list rated these guys as one of the best... W**?!!!

Having a broken shower in a house with no bathroom is no fun. Albert Nahman Plumbing sent someone out within an hour of my calling. The plumber figured out immediately why the shower had no water pressure, and was able to remove the rust that was clogging the pipe within a few minutes. Since the job was so quick, I asked about another lesser issue with the water pressure in the kitchen. It was the same problem! The plumber fixed it immediately as well, for no additional cost.

They quickly solved the problem. They are always on time, and they complete the work beyond my satisfaction. They are very courteous, gracious, and go out of their way to help. They have done many other repairs for me in the past, and I am always very happy with their service.

Found Albert Nahman on Angie's List. They had good ratings and were used frequently in my area. Called and spoke with a nice young man who set up an appointment for Stanley to come by the following Tuesday. Stanley was on time, put booties on before he came into the house and was even friendly to our 5 month old puppy who really, really wanted a piece of those booties. If all of Albert Nahman's plumbers are as good as Stanley, he's one lucky employer. We've had a leaky kitchen drain for over a year, Stanley is the 3rd plumber to look at it and the only one who told me that the trap was on backwards which was why it was leaking. He told me two options to fix it -- open the wall and move the incoming pipe or trim the existing pipes to force a fit -- he suggested trying the less intrusive (and cheaper way) first....and it worked. He also gave fixed a leaking bathroom faucet the inexpensive way, installed two new hose spigots outside, and diagnosed why my shower was scalding me and ordered the part for later install. Plus I got a lesson on water heaters, galvanized pipe and he took it on himself to clean out the head of the kitchen faucet to improve our water pressure. And I learned that there really is an Albert. Will use them again.

The dispatcher had someone out to us to scope the job and give an estimate within two hours of our call about our leaking water heater. The estimator was on time, thorough and very professional. He did a great job explaining the pros/cons of our various options for replacement water heaters and possibly relocating the water heater. The installation plumber was out on time the next morning with all the tools to complete the job. He was quick, clean and explained to use all the features of and emergency procedures for our new water heater. I highly reccommend Albert Nahman Plumbing and Heating and would not hesitate to use them again.

We hired Albert Nahan to install a gas safety shutoff valve. They were courteous and gave a reasonable estimate. They had a promotion running on Angie's list (which they ended due to its popularity after a couple recent earthquakes) so were able to save an additional $75. They were able to do the job within a couple hours as they estimated and were very professional. I'd call them again for estimate on plumbing work.

Other than the water heater repair, the other repairs were time consuming due to the age of the plumbing. Stanley did a great job. He was extremely thorough and took care to keep the premises clean. He was also very knowledgeable about his trade and had some suggestions for future plumbing work I might consider. I don't know what Nahman pays Stanley, but it isn't enough.

Overall, things went well. I was called prior to the plumbers' arrival as they completed their previous job earlier than anticipated. I was asked if they could come earlier; I agreed so they arrived early. I explained that both the kitchen and bath emptied into the same drain pipe and periodically one or the other would be clogged. Also the pipe under the kitchen sink had sprung a leak. They checked all the bathroom pipes and found that the pipe from the tub was fitted with an incorrect type of pipe. To replace it would be an additional fee. I agreed to the replacement, They cleared the clogged main drain and replaced the necessary pipes. All of the work was guaranteed with the exception of the old galvanized drain pipe which needs to be replaced. I was given an estimate for its replacement. They gave me two possible scenarios of how the work could be done: either tearing out part of the wall or setting up a new bypass pipe.

I'd used Albert Nahman Plumbing for other jobs and knew they did excellent low-hassle work, so I looked them up on Angie's List, got their coupon for $20 off and gave them a call. We arranged for the plumber to arrive between 8:30 and 9 on Friday (today) and they called Thursday night to confirm. Otto showed up at 8:30 sharp which is always such a change from anyone else I deal with. They say 8:30-9:00 and they arrive at eleven. Otis came in to fix the low-flow problem and immediately recognized the problem and with very little fuss told me what the issue was, what it would cost and how he would fix it. 30 minutes later the job was complete and cleaned up. Everything in life should be this easy. Otis, you are a credit to your profession!
