I used Smart House Cleaning in February and contracted to have them come on 3/26/12. I drove home from work at lunchtime to let them in at the agreed upon start time of 1:00. When they did not show up, I called at 2:40 and was told they they were in traffica and would arrive at 3:00. I had to go back to work and when they did not arrive at 3:40, I called to cancel the job. I was told that they were in route and would be there shortly. The crew arrived at 4:00 and I worked with them to complete the agreed upon job. As a person who works outside the home, I cannot wait three hours for service. Unfortunately, as much as I liked the work they did, I would not use them again.

We were looking for a housecleaning service that would do a quality job with the best test being how well they could clean the bathrooms and kitchen. We tried a couple of services and Smart House Cleaning won heads and shoulders above the other very well-known service that we tried. We have been using them ever since. Initially and for the next couple of visits, the owner, Josue, did the work along with a couple of others from his company. We've had the same folks now showing up every other week for the past four or five months and they do a great job. Couldn't ask for a better house-cleaning. I would highly recommend Smart House Cleaning to anyone wanting a quality, friendly housecleaning service who's always on-time (within a reasonable grace period of a few minutes due to traffic).

Smart Housecleaning is very smart indeed! I have a small condo in Long Beach that I share with my boyfriend. We are fairly clean & tidy, but also busy, busy, busy. And I want my living space to be clean and neat and cozy and comfy. But, I HATE cleaning! I want to enjoy what free time I have biking at the beach, putting around on the ocean, brunching with my baby, or kicking back with my Kindle and a mimosa. So, I went looking for a housekeeper. As seems to be the case with all kinds of service providers, the 1st two I contacted were no-shows. What?s that all about?! WHY DON?T THESE PEOPLE AT LEAST CALL BACK OR SHOW UP? So, by the time I got in touch with Joshua at Smart Cleaners I was a bit put out, and told him I didn?t have any interest in scheduling another appointment for a quote. I described my living space to him, and he quoted me over the phone. Thank you! We made arrangements to meet so I could give him keys, and he showed up! On time! Thank you! Since then, his team has been coming every other week to do all the tedious yucky stuff like windows, base boards, blinds, cabinet doors, door jambs, etc. All I had to do between cleanings was run the vacuum, wipe up the kitchen floor & light dusting. The weekends after he cleaned were HEAVEN ? spotless home that I could just relax in. Priceless! Also priceless - no more spats with my honey over chores, BECAUSE THERE AREN'T ANY. Instead of falling into bed tired and cranky from juggling work, exercise and keeping the place clean, we curl up blissfully in a nicely made bed in a dust-free room. Speaking of price, the 2nd best thing about Smart Housecleaners is the price. Very, very reasonable. So reasonable, in fact, that I recently upped the schedule to weekly cleanings. Why clean at all if I have Smart Housecleaners to do it all for me efficiently and inexpensively? Plus, they bring all their own cleaning supplies and vacuum cleaners. That saves me money right there - my cleaning supplies now last months instead of weeks. Bottom line ? this is a great service. I have had housekeepers of one sort or another all of my life (life is too short to spend every Saturday scrubbing), and you don?t have to be rich to have help in the home. Do yourself a favor & give Smart Housecleaners a call. Enjoy your life and let Joshua see to the mess.

We were happy with the service. I think their price was right on. They did a good job. They were very professional. I would refer them to someone else. We are going to have them come on a regular basis.

I got them from Angie's List and I think they are fair; not great, but fair. They are lacking in the areas of communication and thoroughness; they are not quite as thorough as I want them to be. Their price is pretty cheap and I will use them again in the future.

Have used this firm since its establishment and its people for longer than that. Happy to include items I have cleaned on an irregular basis along with the usual cleaing. Very friendly staff. Expect to continue using them for the foreseeable future

It went wonderful from the start to the finish. They were there for about 4 hours and our house is about 3,000 square feet. I will be using them from now on every 2 weeks and I am very picky!

Overall, they did an excellent job. There were 4 young energetic women that they sent to clean my house. This was the first time we used them and we were very satisfied with the work. They worked hard, diligently, and didn’t stop at any time during the 4 hours. They also did not talk at all the whole time. I’m going to talk to the owner about the fact that they broke a bottle without telling me, but I think if I would have told them from the beginning to let me know if they broke something, they probably would have. The price was quite reasonable. We will continue using them to clean the whole house on a monthly basis.

Excellent work, even cleaned all the blinds. Very thorough and professional.

Mediocre at best. Owner was very friendly and willing to come out for an in house estimate since we felt estimate over the phone was not enough. We explained what we wanted done and he even agreed to have the crew come on Saturday because we were still having work finished in the house. When only 2 women showed up for the job, we were a bit worried. It didn't help when they asked for trash bags because they didn't have any. They stayed for 4 hours. They were friendly. Before leaving they asked if there was anything else. My answer...YES! Walls were still dusty throughout. Kitchen floor needed to be mopped a second time per my request. It still didn't look clean. Several of the furniture pieces were never touched, and anything above arms reach was left filthy. Then there were the windows, which we paid EXTRA for! Dirt, rocks, and dust were left in all the sills and ledges. This was a specific thing I asked to be cleaned due to the construction. I'm sure the cleaners would have attempted to finish, but after asking them to go over 3 or 4 OTHER things, quite frankly, I was done. Plus, we had guests arriving. They left, and we made plans to finish up the rest. Bottom line...overpriced for the quality of work that was performed. After paying that amount, you don't expect to have to finish up the work yourself.

They will be coming again today. I like them. They charge per visit. They are really good. Andrea in particular is good. I felt really good when she did the work, but when somebody else came I felt good about it but not really, really good.

After having the house tented for termites, we wanted a deep cleaning of the house and called Josue to help us out. He was able to squeeze us in to his tight schedule at our last minute request and two of his employees showed up promptly on-time for review of the house and tasks at hand. For several dollars more, we had them also clean out the frig to help ease our concerns of a gas-filled house full of pesticide. The house was immaculate after a few hours of cleaning. Baseboards and crown moldings were cleaned. Bathrooms were sparkling at the very end. We were quite pleased with the service and plan to supplement our usual house cleaner with Josue's team for the annual spring cleaning. My only negative criticism was that the windows did not appear to be cleaned, but once I pointed it out, one of the employees offered to do it. Considering the amount of work performed for the day, I wasn't interested in adding more work to their plate. I wish I had asked for their help in cleaning the inside of the cupboards since we still had to wash all of the dishes, utensils, and pots in the kitchen after the tenting. Lesson learned for the future. If you're in a similar situation of having your home tented for termites, have Josue factor in the cost for deep cleaning EVERYTHING in the kitchen. His team is more than capable of doing it and will save you valuable time.

I was impressed by the work ethic Josue and Andrea (and their team) showed on day one. They got right to work and didn't mess around. I stayed outside so I wouldn't get in the way. When they were done, in about 4 hours. my house smelled really clean and looked really good. I didn't notice until later that there had been a few missed items, but it was overall very well done. I hired them to come back in two weeks. I have now had Smart House Cleaning come three times. I really want to give them an "A "because they work hard, and more importantly, I trust them. But I have to point out a few things that may seem like picky details, but cleaning is all about details, right? The first two times entailed an incident where the clock radio in the guest room was changed during dusting and the alarm blasted at 12:00 AM the next morning - twice. They fixed this the third time. I have had to point out a couple of things that never got dusted the first time, and although these are not highly visible, they do have a surface. Anything with a flat surface should be dusted. There were also things like finding the waste basket from my home office in my bedroom - not a big deal alone, but there were several items that wound up in places that were wrong. On one hand, I get the fact that they move things to dust, which I like, but getting things back in the general vicinity of the original location is indicative of paying attention, and there seemed to have been some minor lapses there. Two of the most annoying things were that after they cleaned the bathroom last week, the shower head was left pointing outward. So when yours truly turned it on the next morning, I received a faceful of shower spray that also went all over the place. The other thing was - and I hate to bring this up because they do show initiative in some ways - they emptied my shredder last week and correctly put the contents in the recycle bin. But they didn't bag it first, and when the trash pickup came today, I guess you can imagine the confetti I ended up with all over the front of my yard. So I really do like and recommend Josue and Andrea, but I think the people they bring with them need to be a little more diligent about the details. Being in a small business (I am, too) is all about doing the best job you can do each and every time, and learning from the things that go wrong. I hope to be able to follow up this report with straight A's in the future.

Overall, the company did a good job of cleaning my townhouse. The owner, Josue, brought over two house cleaners and then set them up to do the work and then he left. I did not mind that they were more than a half hour late to the appointment. Unprofessional, but they still showed up and they did the work. The problem that occurred, and the reason I will never hire the company again - at some point during the house cleaning one of the cleaners broke a statue that sits in the corner of the living room and rather than telling me what happened, the statue was poorly glued back together and never mentioned. The statue is an inexpensive piece of art. While it cannot be replaced, it is not the end of the world. However, I can no longer trust that anyone in the company will do the right thing in the future when the workers in my home were not honest over something so small. Disappointing.

Smart House Cleaning does a great job. They are very reasonably priced. They have been cleaning our house for a few months now and they have always been punctual and dependable.

I have been using Smart House Cleaning for approximately a year. I like them because: 1. They get my house really clean; 2. They are always reliable and punctual. When they say they'll arrive at a certain time, they do; 3. They communicate. If I need to change something I call them one time and they do it; 4. They bring their own supplies and equipment. I do not need to worry about anything; 5. They get my house really clean; 6. They respect my belongings. Nothing has ever been broken or taken; 7. They are friendly and neat. I am happy to have them in my home. 8. They get my house really clean.

I contacted Smart Cleaning to get a quote on cleaning a 4 bedroom/2 bathroom home every 2 weeks. Josue (one of the owners) was thorough and professional. He came by within a day of me contacting him to see the layout of the house and provide a quote. His team is professional and get the job done. There was one instance where there may have been a breakdown in communication in terms of what I wanted clean but Josue was very responsive and the team is thorough. I plan on continuing to use the service! Thanks Josue and Team!

Everything went as described above, no issues to speak of, just a great company and personal staff.

The work was amazing from start to finish. On time, cleaned items that had not been cleaned by prior cleaners and was in and out quickly. They are my new clelaning service and glad to have found them on Angies list.

Andrea and her husband are wonderful! She is prompt and gives reasonable estimates. I love coming home to a clean house on the days that they come! I found her via Angie's List and I am very satisfied. I have referred them to everyone I know and have hired them for one-time jobs here and there as they pop up. I am so happy I found them, they come once a month to do a deep cleaning and get the things I don't want to worry about on a day-to-day basis. I have two cats at home and feel very comfortable with Smart House Cleaning coming when I'm not at home and making sure the cats don't get out. They really go over every corner and I love to come home and see even the smallest items have been moved to clean around/under them, they don't cut corners. I am very happy with Smart House Cleaning.

Wow! The service is in the details! My ceiling fan lights were sparkling. My older sink turned to new again! My house looks fabulous! I would recommend Smart House Cleaning to all my friends. No complaints here.

I have used them a few times. I usually spend about $100 on their services. I like their availability. I can always get them out even on a short-term notice. Sometimes, they forget to do some things, but if I ask them to do it, they will do it. I think you need to be very vocal about things that you want them to do; you need to be very specific. I will consider using them in the future.

Calling Josue to get a quote was easy. He returned my call within an hour. Without seeing the house, he could only guesstimate, but after a quick visit to go over the scope of work, he provided an estimate of $435. Our 90-year-old grandmother still lives alone in her house she has owned since it was built in the 1950s. She is starting to slow down and can't keep up with the housework the way she used to, and she recently fell ill and could not take care of herself. The cleaners were incredibly responsive to the issue, patient with our grandmother, and unfazed by the bodily fluid stains on the carpet and furniture. On the day of the cleaning, a crew of 4 people arrived right on time and were able to finish the whole house in four and a half hours. We had expected the job to take a minimum of six, so that saved us time as well. Even our grandmother, who was skeptical that she needed her house cleaned at all was impressed and very pleased with the job they did and their price.
