I usually hate leaving negative reviews, and I've been refraining myself from writing one even though I noticed really soon after they left how terrible their cleaning service was. But every day, I found more and more negative things that I feel like I have to write one to make sure they'd do a better job in the future. Josue and 2 other people came to clean my house. They left after 4 hours, cleaning a house that was pretty much empty since we just moved in and hadn't brought our stuff in. This means they didn't have to do any furniture moving and all the floors and cabinets were easily accessible for cleaning (I was hoping to give them more cleaning time so I get my clean house). During the initial walk through for estimate, I specifically said I wanted my baseboards and kitchen cabinets cleaned. But nope! They were still dirty. And I'm not talking about dirtiness that requires heavy duty cleaning. I was able to take a single Clorox wipe, run it over the baseboards in one room and it turned black from all the dust. Cabinets did require more scrubbing, but it was really doable (since I ended up doing it myself). Their floor cleaning was also terrible. After they left, some part of my hardwood floor was really wet, so I just wanted to dry it a little bit. I took some paper towel, and started wiping my floor off. To my surprise, they turned black almost instantly, when my floor wasn't that dirty to begin with! Regarding the carpet cleaning. I was initially going to use a separate professional carpet cleaner, but they assured me they can do my carpets professionally too. So I let them charge me $120 for that. In the end, I found a lot of hair that didn't get vacuumed properly and just got pushed to the edges. I let my iRobot Roomba ran in one room a few days after cleaning (this room was still empty and unused by then), and it seemed to pick up some small dirt/debris as well. So I honestly have no idea how clean my carpet truly was after they cleaned it. The only good review I can give them is how well they tried to accommodate me. I kept flip flopping and changing my service date, but they were still able to schedule me in and come on time. I also didn't find any issues with their windows cleaning. But let's just say, I ended up having to do the work that I was hoping to avoid by hiring them. And I feel like I just wasted $400 for nothing. I was actually hoping to use them for my regular house cleaning. Sigh.. looks like it's time to hunt for other cleaners..

The house cleaning was extremely poor. Not only were area's poorly cleaned but other areas were ignored altogether. They charged $230 and I would have been disappointed even if they charged only $50. We renovated our house just in the last few months so the toilets are basically about brand new as with other areas of the house. No calcium build up, etc so when they were still showing rings I knew how bad the cleaning was before even inspecting the rest of the house. The floors/carpet were either barely touched or not touched at all. The house was basically given a very light once over with no scrubbing whatsoever. I have no idea how this company got any good reviews, the only thing I can think of is that if you're house is barely dirty, you wouldn't notice how bad the cleaning is. I have many detailed pics but not sure how to attach them to this review.

I expected a cleaning crew, but only 2 people arrived - a man and a woman. The woman could not speak English. I am fluent in Spanish, and I explained what I wanted done with the house and I had to run an errand and came back. In two hours they had only done two rooms. He told me he would be done by noon. The house was practically empty since I am preparing it to move. They said at 1:00 that they were finished but they had not done a thorough job. I told him that they had not done $300 worth of work and that I felt the job was only worth $150. The man called his wife, the owner (Andrea) and she showed up and they would not leave until I paid the them full amount. She said she dialed the police and I asked to see her phone and she started screaming to the police on the phone that I was hurting her. I paid them the balance and asked them to leave immediately. She did NOTHING to try to do anything to make the job right. The people were very, very slow and the job was not completed.

They did a fantastic job overall. Most impressed with a nasty stain they were able to remove from the master shower. Also moved all furniture out of the way to clean.

They did a great job. They even dusted the ceiling fans and really did a good job on the bath tub. Thinking of having them come in once a month.

From the moment that I contacted Andrea Landaverde, the owner of Smart House Cleaning, she was courteous, professional, and conscientious. Andrea was easily reachable via phone and text, and extremely responsive. Andrea and her husband provided me with an excellent estimate for bi-monthly cleanings of my parent's home. On the first day that Rosalva and Luisa arrived, we were greeted with happy and kind faces that were so very polite and professional. They heartily tackled my mother's bathroom which had seen better days about 10 years ago. We were astounded by the incredible amount of hard work and tireless effort in cleaning that Luisa took to get the bathroom so immaculate. My mother was in such happy shock when she arrived home to see all the sparking bathrooms and sparkly floors. Rosalva was so diligent with cleaning our walls, baseboards, dusting furniture, and ridding any and all cobwebs, the kind of stuff that I so dislike doing. We have a rather large 2,345 square feet one story home and I am a very particular and fastidious cleaner myself, but I was amazed and so impressed by the super clean appearance of all of our laminate wood floors. No streaks at all because of the concoction of vinegar that Rosalva and Luisa use. I recommend this type of mopping. It's clean and environmentally friendly. These two ladies are so diligent about entering the house and getting the job done to their best ability. They are quiet, friendly, and dutiful, hard workers. They even skipped their lunches on their first day. I was so concerned about them being too hungry and working too hard without a meal. I highly recommend Smart House Cleaning and cannot say enough good things about the company and in particular, about Rosalva and Luisa. A real breath of fresh and clean air!

I called Tuesday for a quote, call back asap, they cleaned on Friday. Now that's service! My house is clean, but due to illness things were falling behind. The ladies they sent to clean were very warm, spoke perfect English and did a great job. Time to enjoy the weekend relaxing not scrubbing. Thank you! SHC

The longer we use the services of Smart House Cleaning the happier we are with them. We have the same two girls come out every week and they have almost become part of the family. They arrive and start to work immediately on those items my wife and I can no longer do (yes we are old). The work is excellent; the girls are very friendly, and cooperative in every way. I can't say enough good things about Smart House Cleaning. If for any reason we have to reschedule a visit, a call to the owners, Josue and Angelina, a couple of days ahead of time is always met with "no problem." They are wonderful people, doing a great job, and my wife and I hope they are very successful.

Smart House Cleaners are always great. They are punctual, efficient, and friendly. I have a small one-bedroom apartment. I appreciate their responsiveness and the price. They have done a great job at squeezing me in at the last minute when they can. I trust them in my home with my things and with my pets. I call them every time.

They are always punctual and do a good job without breakage or damage to anything in my house. Their customer service is excellent. I can make changes to dates or ask for special services and they are quick to respond and adjust to my needs. They will also provide a deep cleaning service the first time they come, which costs more, but is worth the expense. You can request the deep cleaning whenever you want extra service. I would recommend them to anyone who wants regular house cleaning from people who will take care of your home the way you would.

Where to start? .... There are so many positive things to say about Smart House Cleaning!!!! Ok, so Andrea and her husband Josue (the business owners) are not only very professional but they are also truly kind people. My husband and I feel lucky to have met them, not only for the service they provide but to know them as people. They spread kindness, thoughtfulness, and love. We wanted to schedule a weekly service before my daughter's birth (last December) after we saw what they could do when they deep-cleaned our house. The hospital stay/birth didn't go as well as we had hoped and our baby had to stay in NICU for a little while only a few hours after she was born. We didn't share much details with Andrea and her husband but they just took the initiative of cooking delicious and healthy meals for us when we got back from the hospital, they came to visit, they brought books for our new baby girl who had a rough start in life, and surrounded us with so much love and thoughtfulness when we needed it the most. Guess what? We had only met them once and did business once for the deep-cleaning!!! We got to know them some more when they visited and "took care" of us. They are genuinely kind and caring and are ones of the most beautiful people we met. Now about our weekly cleaning crew. They are just super awesome! Guadalupe and Henry are also super hard workers and kind people. They leave our house spotless and we don't even need to ask them to do things, they just clean away! They take initiative, and their work is fantastic. Every week they make us happy to come home :)

They were on time for both the free estimate and the work itself, which is so very important. The crew was personable and upbeat. They did good work and were professional so I plan to hire them again in the future and have already referred my neighbor and friend to Smart House Cleaning.

Smart House Cleaning has been coming to my house every other week for over a year. I am not the best house keeper, and I have a couple of dogs with lots of hair and a lazy teenager. So the place is usually a mess. They do an excellent job and have not raised their rates no matter how messy my house is.

My 2/bd 2/bath condo is only 900 sq', so it's pretty easy to keep surfaces/tubs/ floors clean. But it's the BIG stuff I want done and boy does Smart Cleaning come through. 1st, they supply all their own cleaning supplies (a cost savings right there), and perform all the general housework one would expect. It's the EXTRAs that make them superlative. Every week they would rotate those little extras that makes for a very CLEAN home - ceiling fans and all knick knacks cleaned, all base boards cleaned the following week, all windows cleaned the following week, etc., etc. I would (and have) recommended them to all my friends and neighbors. They are prompt, courteous, professional, fast and thorough. I had a criminal tragedy in my home, and they were even willing to come out on a Saturday to help my cope with the chaos of broken furniture, shattered glass, and even blood smears on the walls. Now that is DEDICATION! If you want a clean & sparkling house, done by honest, hard-working, dedicated professionals, then call Smart House Cleaning. I know I wouldn't EVER call anyone else!

Josue came out first to look at the house and give me an estimate, and explained what they would do and answered my questions. On the day of the cleaning, they were running a little late, but I was called ahead of time and kept aware of when they would arrive. Two people cleaned the house for four hours, and they worked very hard. They left the house spotless, it was the best cleaning job I have ever had done.

Here is my review...I've copied the message I sent to them via Angie's List because this is how we made contact and our initial appointment. The work was done on a Friday in less than three hours. I had to leave so I did not have a chance to do a walk thru prior to them leaving. By the way they are a nice couple. But in my humble to be opinion, it seems they are mostly interested in getting first time business to validate the higher cost than they are at maintaining repeat business. Here is my message to them that was sent two days after the service. It's been three weeks and I have yet to receive a response. 5/12/2014 Hello? I wanted to give you all feedback regarding my housecleaning on this past Friday. I paid $150 for the first time visit with the understanding of it being a detailed cleaning; one request being that all my window sills were cleaned. However, that was not done and there were several areas not dusted at all including portions of the bathroom countertop, my bedroom dresser and living room table to name a few; my new closet mirrors were left with several water streaks; the bathroom mirror was not wiped down at all. Unfortunately, I was not there when you all left to do a final walk-thru and in good faith left the money in hopes that the job would have been complete. Please let me know when would be a good time for you to come back and complete the job or for some other arrangements.

At first we had some schedule conflicts as they are trying to keep their staff working, they sometimes shift the times at the last minute when they get a cancellation. I trusted them with a key to my apartment, scheduled a regular day, the last Friday of every month, and they always performed timely and well. I even forgot to leave the check once and they still cleaned and let me mail them the check. They have an outline of the work they do on their website and they stick to the work and do it well. I was always so glad to come home at the end of the day to a clean apartment. I've also had them clean the carpets and windows. They do this for a reasonable fee. I recently moved from my condo and had them do a major clean, refrigerator, windows, balcony, cabinets plus the usual cleaning which they did all for just $170. They did a fabulous job! I will continue to use them when I have tenant turnover and wish they came up to LA. I highly recommend them:)

Good work! Two points less than A performance were being late, and having to apparently park at some distance so that once they had confirmed where I lived, they were gone for 20 minutes to go get their cleaning materials. The other "downer" point was a pretty strong bleach smell from the cleaning solutions. Overall highly satisfactory.

Although they arrive a bit late because of transportation issues, they jumped into the job immediately. They cleaned every inch of our house which included washing the windows - inside and out. What an impressive service. They didn't miss a thing. Every thing from blinds to ceiling fans were left spotless. They even cleaned areas we hadn't asked, like dusting off the window shutters on the front porch. Their service was impressive and delivered in a pleasant and personable manner. We could not have asked for better service. In fact, we were so impressed we decided to make this a monthly luxury for us!

I have used Smart House Cleaning for over 2 years and highly recommend their service. They are dependable and thorough. We have bi-weekly service scheduled, but they are flexible and responsive when I need to change the schedule.

I hired smart housecleaning folks to clean my house weekly. They did a pretty lack-luster job. After a few months of giving them additional chances to get it right, I finally asked them to stop coming and am searching for someone else who cares a little more about the job they do and meeting customer needs. Examples of failures by cleaning team: - A few weeks ago, I had spilled some coffee on the floor on my way to answer the door to let smart houseleaning folks in. After they left, I noticed that the floor they supposedly cleaned still had a coffee spill from that morning. Though they had "mopped" my floor, this obviously wasn't a very thorough mop job. Another week we found piles of dust in front of our sofa. It appeared they swept all of the dust in the room to the area between the sofa and the ottoman, and then just left it there, not only leaving the dust, but also clearly they failed to mop in that area. -ceiling vents (air conditioning) not cleaned, serious dust buildup now, since they haven't touched it in two months of coming weekly -floor vent (heater) -- never cleaned, lots of dust buildup. -cat trees not vacuumed. I have long haired cats. they leave hair behind that has to be vacuumed. Not rocket science. This is something that we discussed upon the first visit. Nevertheless the cleaning crew refused to clean the cat trees. I spoke with them, and they mad a half-hearted attempt. The next week they did nothing. I left a message with the owner about this. He failed to respond. I continued to speak with the crew, with continued lack of results, but they never said "no", they just said OK, and then didn't follow through. This awful service was a significant reason I cancelled their service.

Their staff are on time and know exactly our needs. They complete their work quickly while always doing a thorough job. We have birds in the house, so they know to use animal-friendly cleaning materials and procedures. Any special requests are honored without fail. Finally, they are completely trustworthy in all respects.
