It went very well. The plumber arrived as scheduled. All the valves were checked -no leaks found.

After staying home in the afternoon for the 2-4pm appt., I received a call from the plumber asking me the same questions asked when I made the appointment. He was curt and stated he had the wrong hydrojet and could not do the job. Evidently, all the other jets or the right size were deployed in "Los Angeles". He hung up and let the receptionist, who was very apologetic, do the dirty work of giving me a call back and letting me know they had to reschedule. When I talked to the plumber, I had the sense that late on a Friday afternoon just wasn't a time he wanted to problem shoot. I gave a B on professionalism because the receptionist certainly did try.

Justin from Western Rooter provided wonderful customer service when he fixed my backed up sewer line. He stayed overtime into the evening to make sure that I had a working bathroom before leaving. The price for the amount of work was reasonable and I would definitely call them again to fix my older home.

Brad, the serviceman, arrived a few minutes early!! He quickly got to work in the bathroom working to replace the faucet. We purchased the faucet and when he was replacing it he told us he was going to use our original sink stopper rather than the one in the packaged faucet we had purchased because it was better made and would last longer. We appreciated this advice. We then showed him the backyard dripping faucet. He advised that we needed a new hose bib which we did not have. He left our home and went to purchase a new one for both the front and backyards. He returned in a very short period of time and completed his work. He had spent $26.18 for the parts. Our total bill was $161.18, and we consider this to be a GREAT value for the work performed by Brad. We have used Western Rooter for a number of years to clean out our main line due to camphor trees which line our street and fill the pipe lines with tiny roots. We never thought of them as plumbers and now we know we can count on them for more than one type of service. We appreciate the work ethic and finished product which Brad provided to us. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company as they show up when they tell us they will, they perform the work needed, and they do it for a reasonable price. What more can a consumer expect? We'd used their services once before when we had a similar plumbing emergency on a weekend night, and we found them here on Angie's List, called them, and they sent someone out immediately who diagnosed and fixed the problem in less than an hour. It's been long enough that the details of the first incident have faded, but what remains clear in my memory is the professional and courteous young man who was dispatched to help us, and how quickly he took care of the problem, not only explaining what happened but how what we can do in the future to avoid a repeat problem. The incident in February was related to the first but not exactly the same, but the service was just as good this time as the first time. As a result of the inspection we found out that what we imagined to be the problem wasn't as bad as we thought, which was reassuring, and the solution suggested was nothing more than regular maintenance of the lines (which we should have been doing for years now) which now involves the visual inspection once a year. I'm happy to pay for the once a year check up if it means staying on top of potential problems. We would call them in a heartbeat and would recommend their services to anyone who needs a plumber, and we always seem to need a plumber when it's least convenient to deal with whatever is leaking or backing up in the house!

Mark came over, checked out the roof top air conditioner, determined the capacitor was not strong, so he replaced it. Mark was great.

Manny did a great job cleaning the dirt and dead roots out of my pool drainage pipe. He had to return for a second day and use a stronger drill bit on the Hydro Jet but he was very persistent and was able to get the pipe draining properly. I will definitely use Western Rooter in the future.

See above for additional detail. I called another plumber and he fixed the venting problem for $275. As of today (07/14/14), the water heater is still working.

Replacing gas pipe approximately 65 feet and install a shut off valve.

They came out promptly and took care of the problem. The price was pretty good too.

Called a couple of rooter/plumbers by 9am due to backup in the bathtub and shower (separate). One of the rooter/plumber couldn't come out until Tuesday and another responded to my callback number after speaking with Heather at Western Rooter. Heather was quite pleasant and put me at ease by telling me there was an individual serving a client in my area and after completing that job he would come to my home. Heather informed me that the individual coming to my home was Jimmy. and called me later to inform me that the plumber/rooter specialist was enroute to my home. Jimmy was amazing.....professional and very knowledgeable. He checked everything and told me how he would handle the clearance. Jimmy completed the job and left everything cleaned before presenting the invoice. I also had him to check the bathroom sink's slow drainage he did and explained it would be extra and I gave the okay to complete that job as well. I've added the Western Rooter card (presented by Jimmy upon arrival) to my file for future jobs.

Garbage disposal, just a problem with electric outlet

Western did a remarkably efficient job, getting done in an hour (thus charging for only 1 hour of labor). I was concerned that I would have either a wall or tile to repair when they were done, but they had a special tool that allowed repairing without damage to tile or wall, double bonus!

I was very satisfied with the services performed by Manny and his team. As multi-family property manager, it is very important to me that contractors conduct themselves professionally around the tenants and minimize the disturbance to tenants. Western Rooter showed up on time, worked hard to do the job as quickly as possible, gave me updates during the process, left the job site tidy at the end of each day and restored it to its previous condition at the end of the job. Excellent work - worth every penny I paid. I will definitely use them again.

Technician was capable and pleasant.

Plugged with old cartridge remnants and water was leaking approx. 4 gal/hr before technician arrived. Technician properly identified problem as broken bits and rubber gaskets from old cartridge blocking pipe and preventing new cartridge from going in. Diamond Plumbing came by earlier and did a visual inspection without even shutting off water or looking inside copper pipe. Their estimate was $1680-2300+ and involved tearing into both sides of wall and replacing entire valves and installing a new cartridge that was going to cost over $600 for the cartridge alone. (a $20-30 item at any hardware store!) Called manufacturer and consulted with another plumber outside our service area and even emailed photos of problem. Both conferred solution was to just fish out broken parts and install new cartridge. This is exactly what Tommy Ojeda, responding technician for Western Rooter diagnosed BEFORE I revealed my previous discussions. Called Western at 7:30pm, they are located approx. 15 miles from us. Told to expect call from technician half an hour before arrival and that he would be there within 2 hours. At 8:10pm, received a call from Tommy telling me he had arrived! Outstanding afterhours service. He was so professional and competent that we asked him to evaluate and estimate 2 other minor problems we were having. In doing so, he identified a major impending issue related to the age of our plumbing and walked both my spouse and I through the problems and identified several routes of action to take before the problems grew worse. All told, the work and evaluations took just under 2 hours during which time he was not pushing anything, not trying to upsell, just provided an honest assessment with various options for future service and employed temporary solutions that would buy us time to make the right decision. Tommy was thorough, professional, knowledgeable, courteous and sincere. If he is representative of Western's employees and their commitment to good, old-fashioned customer service, we have found a plumber for all of our future needs. I gave price-structure a B because, even for afterhours service, thought $135 (time and a half) was a little pricey but not an unreasonable deal-breaker. Now pondering options for future work. With some working knowledge of engineering ourselves, we feel assured that Western and Jimmy can provide quality solutions and work we can trust. Will follow up this review when we decide to have long-term repairs performed. Fast. Professional. Thorough. Knowledgeable. Reasonable pricing. Thank you, Western.

He came out on a Saturday well within the 2 hour timeframe that Western Rooter allotted. He had it fixed and was gone within that same 2 hour timeframe - so it went very well and very quickly.

I CALLED THEM FOR MY ELDERLY PARENTS AND I DID NOT HAVE TO BE THERE. THEY WERE PROFFESSIONAL AND NICE, TIMELY AND ACCOMPLISHED EVERYTHING WITHIN A COUPLE OF HOURS. THEY WERE CLEAN AND CLEANED UP. I WILL DEFINATELY USE THEM IN THE FUTURE.

Very professional and friendly staff. John, the technician, arrived promptly as scheduled with a helper. Access to the main line clog required inserting a large snake line through a bathroom drain vent on the roof. John and his helper were extremely careful to avoid any damage to the roof and had to run approximately 80 feet of snake line to clear the clog.

Western Rooter was sent out by my homebuyers warranty company for an estimate after another provider gave them an estimate that was very high. My homebuyers warranty company decided to go with Western Rooter. Western Rooter's price was 1/3 the price of the other company. Western Rooter replaced my tankless water heater with a conventional tank water heater and did a very good job. The city inspector looked at the installation of the tank water heater and said it was the best installation he had ever seen. He pointed out a few things to me about how they did certain things and commented that they were done very well and that most contractors didn't bother to do these things. The people who did the work were very nice and honest and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I even asked them if I needed a new circulating pump for my new heater since a previous contractor said I would. They said no- I didn't need it and what I had was fine. I highly recommend Western Rooter and would use them again.

I had a leaking pipe just below the water pressure valve (above ground at the front of the house). To remove the valve and insert a new small piece - a job that took all of 40 mins, the cost was way high probably because they arrived just after 5.00pm on a Friday evening - I don't know. But it was very expensive in my opinion even allowing for a house call charge and cost of parts. I should have just delayed my call and arranged for a plumber in normal working hours as it was not a crisis situation.

On a Sunday afternoon, water backed up and flooded part of the lower level of our home. After getting the water out and drying the floor, we called a highly rated local rooter service found on Angie's List. Unfortunately, after hours of waiting for their technician to show up (and being unable to use any water in the house in the meantime), the first rooter service was unable to perform the necessary work due to a lack of proper equipment for the job. We then called Roto-Rooter, but they had no one available to come out until Monday morning. Finally, we called Western Rooter. Even though it was 8:30 p.m. on a Sunday, the telephone was answered immediately, in a friendly and professional manner, by a live human being. I explained our problem and was told that one of their technicians could be at our home within 2 hours. Western's telephone agent got our details and contact information, and then went over the pricing for the job, which was reasonable and comparable to what we had paid for the same service from our regular plumber on a non-emergency basis. Shortly after booking the job, Western's agent called back and advised that the technician was en route and would be at our home in approximately 45 minutes. She also advised that, due to the nature of the job (i.e., the distance from the clean-out to the street), it might be necessary for a second technician to be brought in. If that was the case, a different pricing model would be in effect and we went over those rates. She told us that the first technician would start the job and make the determination if the second should be brought in. This was also acceptable. Western's technician arrived in good time and inspected of the drain clean-out. We discussed what had happened earlier in the day and the history of this particular problem. He had me run some water in the house and confirmed the problem was in the sewer line. He then brought the snake/rooting machine up from his van and got to work. It took a while, but the line was cleared without needing to bring in a second technician. We were very pleased with Western's rapid response, professional service, and the friendly yet business-like demeanor of both their telephone agent and the technician. We would not hesitate to use their service again.

Cesar arrived about 15 minutes before his scheduled appointment. He checked out the water heater and told me what the problem was. The gas company had been out earlier and told me the very same thing. He answered all my questions and I had many. He told me exactly what he needed to do to install the water heater and that is what he did. When he had finished installing the water heater he showed me how to turn off the gas, light the pilot light, turn off the water supply and also how to drain the heater. I really appreciated that Cesar took the time to inform me about the maintenance of the water heater. I am very happy with the work that was done and I would use Western Rooter again..
