Western Rooter & Plumbing

For the longest time I had been searching for a reliable plumber to no avail. Other company's estimate to replace the water shut-off valve alone was over $400. Through Angie's List, I contacted Western Rooter and Plumbing and was impressed by the company's professional response and the services provided by Josef, their technician. Josef was puntual, courteous, and very patient. He answered all my questions in terms I could easily understand and, with ease, completed the job that was needed. THANK YOU JOSEF!!

Homar came by to do a sewer inspection for a property we were buying. He was on time, professional, and did an excellent job of explaining his findings (which fortunately were relatively normal) considering the property's age. Would definitely call western rooter again for future plumbing needs.

They responded quickly to my request and performed all three services professionally and for a fair price.

Manny came out to my house, and was professional and courteous. He was going to come back later in the afternoon to do the job. Later than expected, another employee showed up, Caesar, saying that Manny was in an accident, but he was going to help. I had to start from the very beginning and explain to him about filling the CEA form as well as putting the straps on the water heater. He called the office about the form, they were not able to help, because the person in charge had gone home. I was told that they would contact me again the following morning. I think it has been nearly ten days and never did get a callback from Western Rooter. BTW, I ended up doing the work with my son...:)

The cost was very reasonable. They are prompt and quality work.

From start to finish we installed a new gas line with a shut off valve. Then cabled the main line sewer drain. Great job These guys are always friendly, on time and the staff is great. They installed a new gas line as well as installed an emergency gas shut off valve. Cabled my drain and I would have them come back again!

Having struggled for two days with a back-up drainage problem, checked Angie's list to find a nearby plumber (Western Rooter), called mid-morning to describe the problem and the receptionist asked if I would be home between 12 and 2. Yes! And Aaron Islas appeared shortly after 12. We walked through the problem, he located the line entrances, did some water flushing to locate the blockage, ran the router to clear what turned out to be roots. Continued working to make shut that the sewer line was flushed thoroughly, and cleaned things up. All very professional and informative as he answered all my questions. It took a little over an hour. I now have a wonderful plumbing service, for recommendations and for any future problems and ongoing service. Highly recommend Western Rooter.

Omar and Justin were lifesavers! My mom's house flooded yesterday due to the sewer line getting backed up. Luckily she was home when it happened and was able to shut off the water. I went on Angie's List and she called Western Rooter. Despite the pouring rain they were at her house before 8 am. They spent over 7 hours in the pouring rain fixing the problem having to dig deep in the front yard to excavate the sewer line as the house is old. Omar and Justin were extremely professional and courteous throughout the day. Omar even kept his sense of humor despite being in the rain for so long! My only suggestion to the company is that they provide their employees with rain suits for weather like this! Poor Justin was drenched because all of the rain suits at local stores were sold out. We would certainly recommend the company and definitely hire them again to do work at our home.

They did a good job on that. They didn't actually connect them to the wall or anything. I don't know how much they do but I didn't expect that and then we had to make a hole and put these things from the dryer, so I was surprised because they knew that's what they needed to do is run the connection and my boys ended up doing that. We had to add them quite some time before they came out and checked it and then I didn't hear from them and I've gone on vacation and we have never heard. When I called again I did find out that the main guy that usually helps me out was off for about two and a half months and they remembered coming but they incidentally didn't make a report on it. Their work is pretty thorough except for this time this was a whole different thing than I had them do before liking cleaning out the drains or doing other plumbing problems like cleaning out the water heater.

It went well. Aaron, the technician explained what he was doing. He explained where the clog might be depending if much water came out of the outside outlet or not. It ended up being somewhere in the piping under the sink. He was professional and got the job done very quickly. He answered other questions I had and was very helpful. I would definitely use Western Rooter again. There was an additional charge because I had used Drano before calling Western Rooter and I understood that. They don't recommend using Drano because it is really h****** pipes and on their equipment.

Jimmy from Western Rooter came the same day i called, arrived within the 2 hour window his service said, surveyed the problems, brought in a fancy electric auger machine, and made short work of my blockages. The company is very responsive and Jimmy seems very experienced and professional. I couldn't be more pleased with the service!

We were getting FIOS installed in the attic and the installer noticed a strong gas smell up there. The gas company came out and verified that there was a large leak from a pipe that was inadequately or improperly sealed on installation of our tankless water heater and shut off the gas and put a lock on the meter. We had another highly reviewed company come out that afternoon and they quoted me $325.35 just to locate the leak, which seemed unnecessary since the gas company had already located it, but they stated that they needed to independently find the leak due to liability issues. They also quote a rate of $500-$800 to repair the leak based on how many inches of pipe needed to be repaired, so I was looking at about a $800 job in the best case. Although having the gas shut off was a big issue, $800 is an even bigger one so I contacted Western Rooter and they were able to send someone out 4 hours later (I think his name was Mike?). He actually listened to the gas company's findings, inspected the pipe and agreed with them. He took out the pipe, cleaned, resealed and reinstalled it using correct plumbing methods and was in and out in 2 hrs at $90/hr. $180 is much preferable to $800!

Unfortunately, the rooter service was incomplete and the same problem of waste line blockage re-occurred about 1 week later. Female staff (receptionist) very arrogant and stated that I would have to pay for another service call. Did I mention that she was arrogant (and cavalier)!!! I asked to speak to the owner Michael Glenn and was denied. I called another service; however, apparently the owner was apprised of my dissatisfaction and came out and re-did the waste line rooter clean-out. He was apologetic and stated my business was valuable to him (I've used this service about once per year for the last 8 years - and even referred to friends). When I called a some months later to hire their services again I was scheduled for the next day. The day of the scheduled service appointment a female staff (receptionist) member stated they were not coming for the appointment and would no longer service my address. All this time they have been e-mailing me with advertisements and "specials" for using their service but refused my business??? When your waste line is blocked, you need service right away. For them to wait until just before the appointment to refuse service to me is ridiculous no to mention unprofessional. Some of their technicians are not very well trained; but, since I'm a retired general contractor and own a number of rentals I know what's required and often had to instruct their technicians what needed to be done. I think it's childish and vindictive to be dealt with in this manner. Since then, I've used RJ Collins Plumbing service with great success. They are professional, their technicians are well trained and the company is a pleasure to do business with.

Two young men in uniform came promptly after I called. They were very pleasant and quickly went to work and cleared the drain. Cleaned up after themselves. No dirt marks or shoe prints anywhere!

Reuben arrived promptly, removed the old water heater, and left for another appointment while I returned it to the store and obtained a replacement, as it was still under warranty. He was there promptly when I returned with the new heater and pipes, and installed it efficiently. It was a good experience, and my tenant had hot water within 20 minutes!

I am pleased with their service. I am a Realtor. Resolving this issue was critical to closing this sale. I had to get this done and Western Rooter came through. They came out the same day. The plumber was on time. Couteous. Very professional. Even though it was not resolved the 1st visit. I called them back and they wanted to make sure this was taken care of. Manny and Said the plumbers were knowledgable, and Courteous.

I knew that I was dealing with someone I can trust.

Gus telephoned ahead to advise he was in route. He arrived prior to the window of time I had been given. Yay! He assessed the problem, fixed it in less than 1/2 hour. It has been working well ever since the repair. I am waiting to receive the bill.

The job took from mid-morning to the end of the work day, 5:30 p.m. The job was more extensive than quoted; but Western Rooter stood by their initial quote. Omar & Justin took out the old lines, replaced the lines, and tested the lines. Everything seems to be working well. They were very professional.

Provider sent someone (Justin) out and arrived ON TIME ON A SUNDAY! His snaking equipment broke down. So he had to remove the u joint ie the trap to snake out food particles using another snaking equipment. The process was slow but it was completed. He was stayed there to make sure that the trap was properly reinstalled so there would be no leakage when the sink is being used. So far so good.

Two upstairs toilets overflowed while I was at work. I went on to Angie's List to locate a nearby plumbing company that could come out right away. Two other companies did not offer any emergency services after hours from what I could tell from reading their company details since they closed by 5:00, so this was the first company I called to see if we could have someone come out asap. It was close to 6:00 when I called. The person who answered the phone picked up right away, was very pleasant and said someone would be out by 8:00. I was given a price over the phone and I felt it was quite reasonable. A plumber (Justin) arrived at about 6:30 and he was very professional and friendly. He checked the plumbing throughout the house and then snaked the main line twice. The amount charged was the amount quoted. He recommended at some point in the future we do a camera inspection, since we had prior plumbing issues, but he was not pushy in any way. We were very pleased with the service and happy to find a local plumber for any future needs.

The technicians were Omar and Justin. I had a recurring drain clog issue for one of the units I manage. Upon initial inspection, they recommended we simply replace the flange to stop the roots from getting in, rather than do more extensive work (It was refreshing to find a contractor who provides recommendations on what needs to be done, rather than a contractor who just wants to sell you the most expensive service). After further inspection, it turned out that the pipe had a gaping hole in the side from years of wear and even if they had installed a new flange, they would have been back out to my place in a few months to rooter again. They recommended a solution to fix it permanently. Despite it already being late in the afternoon, Justin and Omar stayed for several hours to excavate a hole in the bathroom, dig up the broken pipe, replace the pipe and reinstall concrete around the drain. They worked non-stop to get it done since this was the tenant's only bathroom. They also fixed a water heater while they had some down time. On top of it all, they did all this work on Christmas Eve. Impressed is not a strong enough word for the quality of their work and their work ethic. I have interacted with different members of their team at different levels of the organization, and have been consistently impressed with the professionalism of their entire operation. This is the only plumber I will be calling from now on.

We had been having trouble with our drains and all of sudden on a Sunday morning they were all backed up. I called Western Rooter and the lady on the phone was nice and very helpful. I called at Noon and the plumber arrived at our house at 12:30 PM. The plumber did a good job and had a our drains cleared quickly. We were very satisfied with the service. They charged us more because it was Sunday, but that is to be expected. They did apply a 10% Angie's list discount.
