Barker and Sons Plumbing & Rooter

Normally, I do not write lengthy reviews for work performed unless it is exceptional and Barker & Sons Plumbing and their field service preventatives certainly deserve special thanks. My problem was an underground gas leak. Called my usual plumber and they were too busy to get to it that day. I Googled gas leak repairs and Barker and Sons Plumbing were top on the list. Good reviews, so I called them at 9 AM on a Monday morning. A real person answered the phone and after explaining the problem, he said they could send someone out within a few hours. Already I was impressed with the company. Not only did I receive a phone call (followed up with an email and a text) from the company letting me know that the field service personnel were on their way, the lead field service representative also sent a text letting me know they were on their way. The text contained a picture of the field service representative and a link to Google map to follow the progress of the service van. Both were very helpful and appreciative. They arrived on time and immediately diagnosed the location of the leak. They spent a little time coming up with different options to solve the problem. They presented me with three options and were able to start work early the next day. Again, I was impressed with the company and the field service representative. They began the work early the next day, again a call, email and text from the company and a text from the field reps. They were prompt, courteous, always put on shoe coverers before entering the house, and took pictures of their work (which they provided an emailed copy). You could tell the workers took pride in their work a great reflection on the company. It was a large job and they completed probably 99% of the work. They once again arrived early the next day to finish up and to make sure everything was perfect and that I was satisfied with their work, which I was. The company advertises they may be a little more expensive than other companies, I am not sure if they are since I did not even ask for a second or third estimate for the job. I was pleased with how they were so responsive, always kept me informed and the excellent work performed by the field service representatives. Barker and Sons Plumbing is now my go to plumber for any future plumping jobs. I will ask for Jesse and Jay, the field reps again. Also, I received a thank you card from Jesse and Jay with a Customer Appreciation discount on the next service.

I was told that the technician will take the toilet out to drain because my main line was on the roof and they're not allow to go up for safety. After taking the toilet out, they still can't clear it-I was end up doing the cleanout which cost me $2400 (instead of 1400 with other plumber). After finished, it was good for 1 day and I have to call them again and turn out they didn't seal the toilet and it was clog again. This company go back on what they're saying. I was told that the drain service going to be warranty for 6 months but later they say that during that 6 months they only go out 1 time and that is it. I suggest: 1-Shop around with friends or relatives to a good plumber that you can trust, also check price before you call. 2-Do not believe in what they tell you because if they don't put on paper it will be all bs (as they told me that the drain service is warranty for 6 months but they will only come out 1 time and no more than that-I know that my house has root problem but if it was clear good then they don't have to come out at all) 3-They will try to up sell you something-Don't do it then, wait and shop around (they want me to do hydrojetting to help clear out the root problem and it costs around $700-however, I check and go with another company-only cost me $169 (original price was $274). Their price was 2-3 times higher. It was said to conclude that it is very hard to find an honest plumber :((

The guy was very knowledgeable and explained every step of the way. He explained every question I had and he was very efficient at his job. It was very good.

They charged me $525 to flush the main line. I had to get it flushed out 6 months later and another company did the same thing for $129. They also charged $100 for the camera, where as the company I used that was included in the $129.

Professional and good at what they do.

It worked very well. They did it on a Sunday. There was an extra charge because there was emergency cleaning on a Sunday. I had drain cleaning which was a lot less, but that was during the week. I ended up getting drain cleaning once every year. It's not something I do often enough to be able to comment on what the price is like. Their quality is fine.

Excellent ! Though I did not use Angie's List for this work, as I did back on 09/17/2016, I felt Barker & Sons Plumbing & Rooter deserved a review. I called Missy direct at the office of Barker & Sons Plumbing & Rooter, as we required plumbing service for our two bathroom toilets and we had used this company back on 09/17/2016 (through Angie's List) for clogged drains service and were very pleased with their office response, work professionalism and pricing at that time. Missy took my call and was very considerate on the phone, responsive to my current needs and promptly set up an appointment for the required service the next day (2 hour window). The field service representatives (Frank V. and Hector V.) arrived at my home precisely on time (12 noon), properly identified themselves, came in, completely analyzed the job to be done, gave me an estimate for "best case scenario" and "worst case scenario", as we weren't sure if the "flange" on the loose toilet was damaged or not. Frank completely explained exactly what they would be doing with each toilet, we authorized the work and they got on with the repairs. Once Frank and Hector were able to loosen and lift off the "loose toilet", they found that the "flange" was damaged, would need to be replaced and a new wax ring installed (worst case scenario). Frank showed the "flange" to me and I confirmed it was damaged beyond usage or repair. Frank obtained the necessary parts and proceeded to complete the necessary work. Frank V. and Hector V. are very professional, know exactly what they are doing, are considerate, friendly and were excellent at cleaning up after the job was completed. These two gentlemen are definitely a credit to Barker & Sons Plumbing & Rooter. Frank applied appropriate discounts to the billing and we paid for the excellent work performed and parts obtained. Once again, we are very pleased with the entire Barker & Sons Plumbing & Rooter Team, and will definitely use them again for future plumbing needs. They were excellent. They came, the price was a little high, but not outrageous. They did what they said they were going to do and they went away. That’s all that I asked them for.

I have nothing but positive comments and respect for the service I received Frank and Mike of Barker and Sons Plumbing. I was a little nervous at first, but Frank did a great job walking me through every detail of the sewer pipe lining replacement. He answered all my question and concerns in a professional and courteous manner. Frank is very knowledgeable and thorough about his trade. I appreciated the prompt response to every call. Really Good! Van showed up and on time. Very nice man with little green shoe covers to keep from tracking dirt into my home, i thought that was really cool. He was in &out roughly hour and half. Very professional. I will call them back for sure.

After reading the good Yelp reviews, I called Barker & Sons Plumbing. They sent Brian and Van to my house. After briefly looking at the job, they gave me an estimate of $450. At first, I didn't think they were serious. They were serious and said that's the price. I couldn't believe it. I felt I was being totally ripped off! So I asked them to leave. I called another plumber after they left. He came by later that day and fixed the problem. He did a great job and even provided a brand new diverter sprout. He was in and out in about a half hour. He charged me $155. I was shocked by the price Barker & Sons tried to charge me and would never recommend them. A word of caution: If you decide to call them, I would strongly suggest getting a second estimate!

Very well. Alex Diaz did a great job communicating each issue, and explained what needed to be done and what to do in the future. I would definitely request him again.

I called Baker & Sons with a clogged sewer main due to a tree root in the main sewer line. I was able to get in as an emergency call the same day though the initial appointment was for the next day. Alex arrived and was very courteous. I showed him the inspection cleanout and we both agreed it was a main line clog. He ran the rooter down the line and the clog was gone inside of 15 minutes., then verified the situation with a quick video inspection (confirming what I have suspected for 17 years - a tree root growing into the sewer main). All in all very professional end efficient, though $275 for a 15 minute job with a rooter does seem a bit excessive.

They ended up fixing it, but it still was a lengthy process. Part of the wood floor had to be refinished and they had to do some of the wall. Drywall doesn’t do well when it gets wet. They contracted somebody to do the drywall and to refinish the wood floor. They handled it. Price was average. The pricing wasn’t bad. I would tell a friend to avoid them.

There was a problem in which the owner came by and it taken care of 100%. I would give them an A just for him coming back and taking care of it. I would say that was a fair price. There was somebody a little lower over the phone but then again that can change. He responded right away. He was really good. I would use them again. They actually gave me an Angie's list discount. This guy here, they did great. The second time they came out one of the guys had a bad attitude. I called up and told the owner, he didn't like that. He read the review and said I just want to make that good weather you use us or not just give me a chance. So I said sure yea. We went and did it again.

Disappointing! 1) The crew came out, they say they cleaned line and that I might need to Hydrojet the line which they can do for another $1000.00 above the $300 I paid for the clean out. I said no. 2) Two days later, Main line stopped up again. The guy they sent out, Frank Vega, was a Pompous, Arrogant guy with a terrible attitude. He said this is the first & only time they were going to clean the Main line under warranty. 3) Two days later my drain is backing up again? There is only my wife and myself using the utilities.

The price is very high but their quality of work is also very high. You get the quality you are paying for. They were right on time.

I would give them another shot since the work was performed quickly and completely. However, when making the appointment, I later learned the person wrote my phone number and street address incorrectly which lead to some issues. They were running late on the scheduled day, but obviously couldn't reach me since the phone number was wrong and they didn't try emailing me instead. We rescheduled for the next day, but they went to the wrong address and I had to call back for the office to reach the workers and tell them the correct address. In addition, when I scheduled the appointment, I told the guy on the phone I found them on Angie's list and he didn't say I needed to purchase the coupon to get the Angie's list rate for the water heater flush. I didn't buy the coupon since it was only 3% off the price which was listed at $132.50. When the guys arrived, I was quote more than $300! I called in and Misty was kind enough to authorize the Angie's list pricing and included the 3% discount.

Plumber arrived a bit late, but I received a phone call well ahead of time letting me know. Plumber was friendly, professional, patient. Price was very high but I had no other option so went ahead. Work was completed the same day. Quality was excellent. Cleaned up the work area nicely.

Since the sprinkler was of little value to fighting a fire, I had the plumber remove it altogether and connect the water heater's copper hose directly to the gate valve. I called Barker and Sons at about 1145. and talked to Missy who scheduled a technician to arrive between 1230 and 2:30 pm. Ray arrived at about 12:00 noon and immediately set to work and quickly corrected my problem. Then he even removed the sprinkler head in the garage and the plastic pipe which connected to the "T" joint he removed. They did excellent work and finished earlier than I expected. Total cost was $99.

His employees showed up exactly on time, were extremely professional and knew what they were doing. Frank and Kevin explained and answered every one of my questions ( most of them were annoying) but they never showed it, and answered my same question several times without making a single remark. I spent several days with Frank and Kevin in my home due to the nature of the job. They were always prompt, explained what they were doing, showed me the corroded parts from 1955 and the parts they were replacing. They went above and beyond when I was running late and they even fed my dog! I had complete trust in them and they were here alone much of the time. It is very easy to point out the bad jobs that a few companies do, but in this case I am extremely grateful for choosing Barker and Sons as my personal contractor. I will also tell my clients and place a referral for all agents. It is so refreshing to come across a trusting, honest, fair, and reasonably priced company. One last note, the receptionist was also superb. I think her name is Missy, and she was so polite and professional as well. Overall Barker and Sons, located in Anaheim get a 2 thumbs up.......way up! I am beyond impressed and grateful to Barker & Sons. They are the most professional, hard working contractors I've used. They showed up on time, were very courteous, spent time putting together an accurate estimate that was also completely reasonable and worked harder than any one else I've hired for the extensive remodel we've been doing. One night they were even here working until 11 pm! Ray and his crew were intelligent and never once had an excuse or reason something couldn't be done, they simply got to work and got things done! I will 100% be using them for our future plumbing needs and am beyond happy with the service and professionalism of working with Barker & Sons.
