Dan the Handyman

Dan is the MAN! He showed up on time with a smile. He installed 3 curtain rods w/curtains in my daughter's bedroom. He finished his work in a timely manner and even retrieved my daughter's volleyball from my garage roof before he departed. He has a pleasant disposition and I've already asked him to return to install more curtain rods as soon as the rods and curtains arrive.

Dan's my go to guy. Very punctual, professional, honest and capable. He has a versatile skill set which is just what I needed for the various odd jobs that I had around the property. I'll definitely be working with him again.

Dan was very professional as he was able to fit us in his schedule within a few days. The old faucet was very difficult to remove as parts were rusted and I was not able to do it myself. Dan was able to do so and installed the new faucet with care.

I read reviews of handymen on Angie's list and decided to try Dan because he was so highly recommended. He is everything that people say he is. He is always punctual, through, works quickly, gives a lot of attention to detail, has a wonderful work ethic, never wastes time and takes tremendous pride in his work. He is knowledgeable about so many things - it's really amazing. He will look at a project and if he can't immediately figure out how to deal with the task at hand, he takes his time to figure out what needs to be done. I know that if some thing seems impossible, Dan will figure out a way to get it done. The projects he has completed for us look perfect - I think Dan is a real artist. I also appreciate his suggestions about things, e.g., how high to hang pictures, type of molding to purchase, and that he will recommend someone if a job entails more time than he can give, or that he can't do alone. He always has the correct tools and other things he needs to get the job done. There is never any evidence that he has been drilling, etc. because he always cleans up after a job is completed. Everyone has written about the wonderful attributes listed above that Dan possesses. But I want to add that he is genuinely a nice person. He is professional, wonderful with animals, perceptive, creative, respectful, enjoys people and is has a wonderful sense of humor. It's obvious that he enjoys what he does and it is evident in his work.. We trust Dan completely. We appreciate all that he does for us and will continue to hire him. We strongly recommend Dan to everyone needing a handyman

He is good. He comes to the house periodically. He is very professional and he understands what he is doing. He is local. He is responsive, punctual, professional and thorough.

Honestly, if all the people I hire off of Angie's List were this awesome I would be a happy camper. Dan did an amazing job and went above and beyond what we expected. I was a little apprehensive about the hourly price when he quoted me, but after seeing the quality of work he delivers I am confident that I got my money's worth. Will be calling him in the future for more work around our house.

Went great. Dan arrived promptly at 4pm. He first assembled a vegetable raised bed container in about 20 mins. Then moved onto the screen door. He discovered he didn't have the right size hinge in his truck so went to buy one. He fixed the screen door and then put a new latch in the garage on a small screen window to keep up from blowing open all the time.

Dan has done numerous jobs for me. My opinion of him increases by leaps and bounds each time he comes over. Dan's attention to detail and his skill are unsurpassable. His promptness and work ethic are rare qualities. As I have written previously, Dan is a true gem.

We talked about the scope of work over the phone. When he showed up, he was ready. Our bathroom hot water knob hadn't been working for years. Dan need to run get the part but was back in 20 minutes. Replacing the part was easy. Then on to the bathtub drain. Yucky job. It was done in 10 minutes, swishing water like new. Last he recalked the bathtub by pulling out all the old calking before applying new stuff. The bathtub looks perfect. On a second trip, he did the second bathroom, then sealed windows and doors downstairs. This is going to make a huge difference with the heating and air conditioning bills.

Dan was great. Very professional. Arrived exactly on time, was neat and conscientious, was very careful not to let the cat out of the house. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

He's very efficient. He had all the right tools which put down the amount of time on the job. He sets up everything. He's very neat in his clean up and was going to use him again for putting an attic installation fan.

Dan was AWESOME!! He arrived on time & immediately went to work after I explained my needs. Dan was professional & very honest. He told me that replacing my toilet would be an unnecessary purchase, & the leak could easily be repaired. All of the work was completed in just 2 hours. I called Dan a few days later, (President's Day), when the pilot light on my water heater went out & he again was prompt & professional. Not only was I surprised that he answered on a holiday, but he was at my house in 10 mins! I recommend Dan The Handyman to ALL who live in Altadena... Having a handyman who is local is priceless!

He is simply the best. He always comes on time and does the job perfectly. He is so clean and very good in communicating.

Dan first stopped by to provide an estimate. He determined that the job was applicable for caulking and did not require a re-grout. He indicated the approximate amount of time that he would need to perform the work and the materials (caulk) required. He suggested a color for the caulk that would work well with the existing color scheme in the shower stall and which I agreed to. Dan arrived on time to perform the work. He completed the job in the time that he had estimated. I was impressed with the result. The old grout along the corners was gone, the area was clean, and the new almond colored caulk was applied professionally. Dan did a very nice job.

this work was done on several occasions. He was prompt, flexible, and developed creative solutions to retrofitting dilemmas. We would call him anytime again.

It went very well. We found the back piece was much bigger than the front. The company was in Florida and he tried to call them, but they were closed. I let him know that it didn't matter to me. He scheduled someone to come and do some wood framing around it for me so it'll be fine. He came on time, calling ahead of time. He was pleasant to work with and professional.

He was fine. We kept his number on hand so we will use him again. He did a good job. He returned our call promptly and quickly, which was great. We didn't have to sit around and wait for a long time to hear back from him. The price was reasonable enough that we would use him again.

I loved everything he does. He is personal, professional, knowledgable and never did anything he thought was beyond his skill level. He made some excellent recommendations and it was very comfortable having an elderly person feel comfortable around him and calls him when we were not there.

Everything went exactly as planned. Dan arrived on time, set up his workspace outside, under his pop up shade and was working on the doors promptly. He installed (3) doors/ hardware/hinges and changed the hardware and hinges on (3) additional doors and was done by mid afternoon. He also adjusted (3) other doors that were not closing/opening freely. Each door was installed exactly as we had hoped and they open/close perfectly. Dan left our house clean and without any evidence that he had been drilling, routing, chiseling or sanding. It was nice to discover a handyman that was responsive, did good work, worked cleanly, was clear about what he would do and left you feeling good about using him again in the future.

ast a We have had Dan in several times over the last few years, and he has always been very clear in what he can and cannot do. Also, how we could get things done more cheaply, using someone else less expensive. I have called Dan a few times just to get his advise on some work that needed to be done. He has either explained the matter over the phone, or stopped by the house to see what I was talking about.

He had all of the proper tools to professionally route out the cuts for the hinge in the door, trim the doors to size, and hang them. He had to re-bore the latchset strike on the door frame because I ordered the wrong borehole height for the door, but that took him only minimal time. Both doors hang without dragging, close properly, with smooth latch operation. He's busy, but very professional. Worth scheduling him. He replied promptly to all emails, showed up exactly on time, did good work, and the price was exactly as quoted. I'll be recommending him and hiring him for projects in the future.

She was on time. She followed through and she also did what I asked him to do. The price was a little high but the quality is very good. The only problem is I want to use him again but because he is too busy. He has a lot of deals because he does a good job.
