Andy Castillo Plumbing

I selected Andy based on the positive reviews and experiences of others from Angie's list and got exactly what I expected. Andy was prompt returning my call, first coming over to check out what needed to be done for an estimate (I was never able to get it in writing from him in advance but it sounded well thought out so I took a chance...) and then we set a date/time for all the work to be done... he was pretty busy around Thanksgiving but I was not in any particular rush. On the day of the appointment, Andy came with a helper and they split the job taking about half a day to complete everything. Both Andy and his helper were on time, courteous, professional, knowledgeable and spotless in terms of cleaning up after they were done... and the final price was not far off the original quote. Overall a great experience and I would not hesitate to call on Andy again or to recommend him.

Early New Year's Eve, we returned home from a long day at the zoo. As I was pulling into the garage, I was careless and drove over one of my sprinkler values. The value was destroyed and water filled my front yard. Since my sprinklers were cut right into my water main, I had to shot off the water main. As a result, I had no water to the house. So, I called a couple of plumbers that had worked on my house in the past. The first one said that it was going to cost $200 just to show up at the house. I said I didn't care and to come over. He asked where I was located and said that he would need to come back. When he did call, he said that they didn't service my area. I told him that this wasn't correct because they had been to my house a number of times in the past. Then he told me that they were just too busy. I followed this up to a call to my second favorite plumber, who after 2 hour still has not returned my call. This is when I logged into Angie's List and called Andy with Castillo Plumbing. He answered the phone himself and greeted me with a good afternoon. Even though it was dark out, I could tell that he was still working just by his greeting. He took down my information and came to my house in 20 minutes. In less than 30 minutes, he had fixed the problem, restored the water and tested the line. He charged he a $100, which was half what the first company wanted just to show up and told me that if the presented any problems that he would be back to fix it tonight. Overall, it was an absolutely fabulous experience. And I gained a new plumber for all of my future work.

Left a message on Andy's phone on Sunday, he called back on Monday morning and set an appointment for 3:00 the same day. Diagnosed the problem immediately and fixed the problem. I was so impressed with Andy's workmanship that I asked him to come back after the holidays and give me an estimate on a re-plumbing job for the whole house. Andy is a very professional plumber in which his ratings on Angie's are proof.

I telephoned Andy on Sunday morning because things were clogged. Andy told me he would be at my house between 11:00 and 1:00 on Monday, and he arrived exactly in the middle, just a few minutes after noon. I explained the situation, he and his assistant Omar did some sleuthing and started to work in the pouring rain. About 20 minutes later everything was fine. They checked all the drain lines too as I asked. The price was exactly as he estimated and quoted. Thanks to Andy and to Omar too.

My favorite shower was not providing enough hot water anymore. I thought it might be a faulty water hearter, but Andy Castillo determined that the shower control valves were to blame. He replaced the "cartridges" in each valve and adjuted them so that I am now able to get double the hot water than I used to get. He did a quick and very professional job.

My Moen kitchen faucet -- which has been in use for at least 13 years and possibly longer -- had begun to malfunction. The handle movement had grown a bit stiff over time but over Thanksgiving, it became hard to turn off the flow of water, The handle had to be positioned in a particular spot in order to shut off the water, but on Thanksgiving, we began having to push down on the mechanism in the spot where it meets the sink. I envisioned a complete replacement of the faucet and a large bill. I e-mailed Andy on Thanksgiving night and he called me the next day. We made an appointment for the following morning (a Saturday) and he arrived on time. The good news was that he was able to repair the existing faucet and it works great. The handle now moves easily and shuts off cleanly. My husband and I even think that we get better access to hot water now (probably because the handle can more easily swivel to the left, which accesses the hot water). Parts for this type of faucet are hard to come by, due to legislation that took effect in 2010, banning the manufacture and sale of even plastic elements that support a faucet deemed to have included some lead parts, originally. So Andy's ability to fix this faucet was greatly appreciated.

Coming home on a Friday evening, I discovered that water had been bubbling up from the ground near the house. Water was also pouring from a drain in the backyard and creating a nice pool. Of course I panic, as it is Friday and evening and my thoughts turn to a possible crack in the water main as well as nightmare images of my front lawn being dug up. I found Andy on Angie's List. He returned my call right away and told me he could come out at 7 that evening. He arrived right at 7 and started looking around right away. He had to dig up around the flower beds, but he put down a tarp and kept all the mud and water off the lawn. He discovered that a connection in the pvc pipe had failed. He went out to get the necessary parts and came back and repaired the pipe, flushed the line and had the water back on before we knew it. He was completely professional, honest and easy to work with. I would absolutely call Andy again.

He has been very good. He gave an estimate and was time.

Long standing drain issue with upstairs bathroom tub/shower. Landlord had sent over mediocre (unlicensed) plumber a couple of months ago. Clog and drain issue persisted and got worse. Mr. Castillo came over and thoroughly inspected the tub and hidden access point (we didn't know about!) then proceeded with snake draining. Spent twice the time the previous plumber did, going deeper into the pipes and completely unclogged it without too much effort. Mr. Castillo was very easy going, immaculate in appearance and did the job well. His price was very reasonable and was a great transaction overall. Highly recommended!

It went really well, I'm not sure of his prices. what plumbers charge per hour

The drain was easily cleared and then Mr. Castillo looked at the faucet and immediately knew that the inside portion was rotted. He recommended that I contact the manufacturer to see if they would replace it and he would be glad to install the replacement or a new one (no pressure to make a decision). I followed his advice and received a new faucet from the manufacturer. He installed it a couple of days later. I would call Mr. Castillo in the future.

Very well. A good part of the cost was the expensive, non standard plumbing parts. Andy - as I've used him before - -is always great about what it will take $$ and time to do it. Very responsive. You're dealing with a craftsman, not a company.

It is done well now I will have to see how long it will take to be clogged again. He gurantt for 4 months

I left a message for Castillo Plumbing about 9 a.m. on a Monday morning. My call was returned by 10:30 a.m. and Andy was at my house by 11 a.m. I was at work when he contacted me and I didn't even have to go home since the problem was in my front yard. Andy quickly fixed my leaking pipe and called me at work to say the problem had been fixed. He was kind and professional and I would definitely recommend him/his company as well as use Castillo for plumbing services again.

Mr. Castillo was very responsive and professional. The toilet only required replacement of the flapper, but I couldn't do it myself because a permanent shelf just above the toilet impeded my view and access to the tank. Didn't seem to cause him any trouble though. Replacing the hose bib was quick and easy. The repair of the faucet was a bit more complicated and took the most time. I was hoping the cost would be $100-$200, but it was $265 before the 10% Angie's List discount. Otherwise a flawless experience!

Andy was very courteous and professional. He responded to my call quickly, arrived promptly, identified the problem, and took care of everything. I was very satisfied and have had him back for other issues.

He was always very courteous, pretty much on time and I felt the prices were reasonably considering the quality of his work. He was also able to work around my time constraints.

Andy Castillo came and evaluated the leaking kitchen and recommended replacement. He was contacted when faucet was available for installation and appointment made for the service date. He was personable , punctual and clean

I called Andy on Wednesday, and he was able to come take a look at the system on Thursday. The previous owners had installed a dryer vent system with 3" pipe verses 4" pipe, which was causing a clogging in the system. After listening to the problem and taking a look for himself, he told me he could do the job, and quoted me between $300 and $400. We agreed and he was able to bring a helper and come back the next day. He showed up on time, did the job efficiently and quickly, cleaned up after himself and was done in two hours. The new venting is working great.

Andy and his assistant showed up right on the dot, fixed the problem within five hours, at the quoted price. (The initial contractor claimed it would take a few days.) Throughout Andy was very professional. I was a bit concerned when the smell didn't disperse right away, but I called Andy and he said it should do so within a week (which it has). I'd certainly recommend him!

Mr. Castillo did the work within 24 hours of my call. I supplied him with the faucet and water filter and he took care of everything else. He warned me of potential problems about trying to drill a hole through the my porcelain sink for the water filter faucet and came up with a simple way to solve the problem using the existing 3-hole sink. He was very professional in his demeanor, quick and neat in his work, cleaned up thoroughly afterwards.

Great. Came on time, left to get parts, returned to finished the job. Found a problem with my faucet and returned the next day with parts. Very satisfied.

Andy was extremely courteous, friendly and professional. We met within the hour of our coversaton and he looked around and told me with quiet confidence he'll take care of everything. Within 20 mins, two of his crew came with the rooter machine and they went through the main roof vent. Within 40 mins, job was done. His crew was extremely polite and courteous. They took care to clean up after themselves and made sure they didnt damage anything. All in all, it was fast, professional and friendly. Now I can enjoy a long shower.

Andy was available same day we called, diagnosed the problem right away, had the part in the truck, and all appears to be working well again.

Andy was on-time, professional, and got the job done. Our main drain had been backing up and was no longer functioning acceptably. Andy came out at 6 pm, did not charge us extra, and finished within one hour.
