Andy Castillo Plumbing

Great experience (at least as far as any situation where you have a plumbing problem can be called "great"). Timely estimate, some delays in getting actual service, but a good portion of the fault was with me and my scheduling needs. Provided estimates for various phases of job, from most urgent to least. You get what you pay for. He is not the cheapest, but the quality of his (and now his son's) work is top notch and more than worth it. Highly recommended to those in the greater San Gabriel Valley.

It took a few phone calls to get to him. Finally received a reply after 3 days and a couple of calls. Since it wasn't an emergency, it was okay. Asked him to flush my water heater and install 2 valves (parts not included in the price). Attempted to fix the slow-flow shower, but the parts too expensive to continue the job since it was not a major problem. Overall experience is that he's competent, but the price is too high.

We called them to come do a leak assessment and repair. They gave us a very good estimate price compared to 2 other estimates we had= one company quoted us 200 more, another 200 less, but the one quoting 200 less said they would have to break down an external wall and wouldn't be responsible for the wall repair... They did a great job, were incredibly professional, and very fast. their repair has stood the test of time, it's been 3 months now- and we're incredibly satisfied. In fact, while I'm happy no other plumbing has gone awry, I'm now waiting for anyone I know to need a plumber so I can recommend them. :)

Andy was great. First contacted him by e-mail and he replied right away. Everything went according to the schedule. He was very prompt, and finished quickly. GREAT work.

On time, did what I wanted, accomplished the tight fit I was hoping for with a little innovation. Very efficient and friendly and straightforward. Did not have all the parts needed on hand but was back w/in an hour with what was needed. I wanted someone local and experienced who had some reviews on the list and was honest, and I got all those things.

Andy was excellent. He fixed the drain for the washing machine and included it with the $700 for the no-name slide in dishwasher replacement. Diagnosis was on the beam. Price was a little high for the replacement dishwasher with no written warranty. No senior or Angie's discount was discussed.

Andy found the pinhole leak, cut into the wallboard, removed and replaced copper fitting. Total time was about an hour and with material used, I consider the price fair.

Made an appointment with this company for 11-2 Monday. It's now Monday at 5:00. No show, no call. Obviously this company doesn't value it customers very highly.

I called Andy and set up an appointment. He was on time and very professional. He replaced the toilet seat cover and checked the shower head. It was the shower head and it only needed cleaning. I didn't have to buy a new one. Since this didn't take very long, I had him check a few more things like the hot water heater. He answered several questions that I had, and I felt comfortable with him. I will continue to call him when I have plumbing problems.

Andy knew that I did not have gas and so I did not have hot water. He tried to get this job done as quickly as possible. He arranged for the brush cleanup in my yard and then proceeded to quickly put in a new gas line. I was thrilled with his work and even more excited that I did not have to go out and find someone to clear out my yard for the plumber. I knew I had found my plumber after trying so many before. Andy was good at explaining everything he would be doing ahead of time and taking the time to explain to me. He was also great about keeping the area clean and leaving it looking wonderful.

They unclogged both the bathroom sink drain and tub drain for $140, which included a 10% discount for using Angie's List. They cleaned up everything before they left. I will definitely use them again.

I have used them 3 times and plan to use him again. He is fast and does a good job. His prices are also reasonable.

Andy and his crew did a fantastic job. They arrived on time and were done well within the estimated time frame. Andy checked with me before they had to make any modifications to the counter tops to get the sink and hardware in place. He checked our entire sewer line (well over 200 feet) and showed us the impending blockages and gave a reasonable estimate to clean them out. We had an old badae in our master bath that we wanted removed and he did this at no extra charge. I even asked him about some future plumbing and he recommended a solution that was significantly cheaper than what we had been thinking. All in all, they were professional, knowledgeable and fast. I would highly recommend them to others and plan to use them for all of our plumbing needs in the future.

I had two dishwashers that need to be installed. The installers found a valve that was broken and hence they could not install the dishwashers. I placed a call to Andy who returned my call within a couple of hours. He came to my house that day and replaced the valve with no problems. All his repairs are thorough and quick.

They replaced the closet. They were exceptional. They were very prompt. They were very professional. They cleaned our home properly without leaving a mess.

Mr. Castillo and his assistant were on-time. They laid out ground clothes to capture any debris from the work. He was able to do the whole removal and installation in about a half hour without any problems or issues. The work was first class.

Mr. Castillo was prompt in responding to my request, he showed up on time, and was dressed professionally. He came in with a great big smile and kind words about my home. He is such a nice guy! He also gave me an estimate immediately--which he noted would not be the cheapest estimate, but that he does great work. I wish we could have used him, but we're working within a tight budget. I highly recommend him if you have the resources.

Andy quickly responded and scheduled a convenient weekend appointment time. He arrived on time, did great work, cleaned up after himself, and charged me very resonably. I would definitely use him again and have already recommended him to friends. He also smelled good (as far as I could tell) - that's a knock on the radio commercial by another pumber who I hear doensn't provide as good of service.

Had a blockage in main line. Called Andy on July 4th set up an appointment for the 5th, he was on time made quick work of the problem and was done in less than an hour.

It went well. As I said, had he followed up I would have a new shower that was not the problem and an expense of $3,000 or more.

Very smoothly and professionally. On time, fair and personable.

Andy did a great job installing the system. I thought it was going to be a matter of hooking up the new system to the existing piping but in fact the job was a lot more difficult than that. He initially quoted me about $250 over the phone but the work took much longer but he didn't charge me for the extra time. Since I am an architect by training, I greatly admire the craftsmanship Andy puts into his work.

Andy did an exceptional clean and quality job. He selected high quality plumbing fixtures and priced the job fairly.

He came out very quickly. He was very courteous and polite. He addressed my problem within an hour from the time that I had called him. I called him early and he said “okay, I will be there in an hour.” He addressed the problem, fixed it, and was on his way. I am not going to make a big deal about it because it was only $100 but the only thing that I noticed, and I didn’t want to question him because I was too embarrassed, but his add said if I mentioned Angie’s List I would get a 5% discount. I did mention Angie’s List but the discount was never applied. I don’t know why I am talking about it because it was only $5. If this was a $50,000 job I would have said something about the 5%.

Mr. Castillo did work for us two years ago and we called him back. He came as scheduled and was prompt. We wanted the drain, overflow valve, faucets and shower head replaced since they were 30 years old. Mr. Castillo made all the changes and adjusted the drain stopper. There was a custom part that he didn't have in his truck so he went to a store to pick it up. No problem for us. The new faucets are a joy to see and use.
