Chris had his guys replace the fence for us. They did a great job. The fence is beautiful. It only took them about 2/3 of one day because they already had the fence sections built and brought them along. Really smart thinking. This is the 2nd opportunity I've had to work with Chris. He has done lots of work around the house for us. We are definitely happy with him.

The men came, they saw, they worked, they conquered. I had a long list, and a varied list, from simple fixes to long standing problems. All of the work got done, they were careful about cleaning up, and pleasant guys! Owner Chris came by, also a very pleasant guy, talked through another project I need done in the future. The job with the ceiling fan was a challenge, not just because of pre-existing damage, but it is tough to work reaching up and looking up for a long time, but they were very determined to get it right, and make sure everything fit just so. I am very grateful to have all these jobs done, and can now use the ceiling fan safely, and not worry about my porch collapsing! They were also careful about my dogs not getting out, and reminded me to shut the gate. Thanks very much! Definitely recommend this company!

All went very well. They were prompt, professional and did quality work, going out of their way to address all the challenges of the project. This deal was purchased for and utilized by a friend. It is wonderful to work with such a dedicated business. Chris is very concerned with customer satisfaction..... and delivers it! The job went really well.... considering the new framework that was required because the french doors were narrower than the sliding glass doors, the dust and debris was minimal... so easy cleanup! The french doors look fantastic. Outside stucco and inside plaster work look great... The doors look like they were part of the original home construction. This is the second job Chris has completed for me and I couldn't be happier with his work!

We were out of town when the demo started, they were very neat and tidy. Chris was super responsive and made sure we knew what was happening with every step. There were some minor set backs, but sometimes things happen, and he kept us in the loop. The contractors he used for the cultured marble were great! One piece did not make it, so they quick made a new one and got it out to the house the next day. The glass guy was super fast! We had one small glitch about a week after the job was complete... there was rust under the 6 inches of frame, turns out a non galvanized screw got mixed in and was rusting. No problem, glass guy came back out, removed the offending screw and the shower was AMAZING again within 15 min. I am SO happy with Chris Shipley, I wish I could take him to Washington with us!! Thanks Chris for all you do!

FANTASTIC! Only word to describe contacts with Chris.. he is a professional 100%. His workmanship, I was surprised how nice the new roof looks... he did an awesome job. I would recommend him in a heartbeat!

For those of you that want only the final line: Shipley and Sons Construction performed an excellent job at a very fair price. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a friendly, honest and professional contractor. Now for the details: I have a BBQ island in my back patio that is constructed of stuccoed cinder blocks with a 2.5 inch solid concrete top. I removed and dismantled the old BBQ grill that was currently in the BBQ island and purchased a new BBQ grill that was wider and taller than the one I removed. This required that the space for installing the new grill be widened by approx 7 inches and lowered by a couple of inches. After contacting several contractors listed on Angie's List, I selected Shipley and Sons Construction, not only because of the great reviews they already had on Angie's List, but because of all the contacts I made, Shipley and Sons Construction seemed to have the most knowledge of what needed to be done to professionally complete the job and provided a very detailed estimate of the work to be performed. Chris Shipley, the owner, personally came out to check the work site and provide me the details on what would be required to perform the job. He followed up with a detailed estimate within satisfactory period of time. Subsequent to the estimate being provided and my accepting the estimate, Chris had placed a $250 for $500 of work coupon out on Angie's List. Chris was happy to apply that coupon to the existing estimate. On the day before work was to begin, Chris brought out the person that would actually be performing the work and went over with him the exact details of what would be required. The job took a total of two days, and Chris was also out on both of those days to verify that all was going to plan. I wish I could remember the name of the person that did the actual work, but my memory fails. Anyway, he had a great many of years of experience and it showed in his work. He took pride in doing a job well done, and a job well done he did. One last thought: The estimate provided was to widen and lower the existing space and construct a back wall with stuccoing that matched the current island stucco. Not only was that professionally accomplished, Chris and his employee (without asking and without additional charge) installed my new BBQ grill, caulking all open spaces, giving a really nice finished look. They also installed and caulked in the new storage container I had purchased for the island.

I originally contracted Shipley and Sons to perform 8 hours of handyman services to help get a property we owned ready for sale. We lived out of town, so it was important that we found a contractor we could trust. I immediately felt very comfortable with Chris and Randy and saw the level of professionalism and care they took with our house. I provided Chris with a list of all of the updates and he provided me with a detailed line-item quote. Chris kept me informed of their progress and helped to coordinate the other service providers we hired. I was very impressed with the quality of the work and the efficiency in which so much was accomplished. We sold our house the first day it was on the market, in large part due to the master bath remodel. I would highly recommend hiring them for any size job, but especially if you have a large construction project.

Chris Shipley said it would take two days to complete the job, so I scheduled it for a Friday and Saturday. Two guys showed up on Friday 5/30/14 at 8am as scheduled and got right to work. They worked until 7pm that night to get the walls furred out, insulation in, drywall up, electrical outlets changed out and the wiring for the ceiling fan. The next morning the drywall guys showed up to tape and texture the drywall. They finished in four or five hours. The only thing left to complete on this job is to install the ceiling fan. I wanted to paint before the fan was installed. The job looks great, everything was done to my satisfaction and on time.

Went very well. The few men that came to the site were punctual and professional. They worked hard and stayed long hours to get the job done. I was very pleased. This was not an easy task. I was happy with the way they treated me. They were respectful and honest, hard working men. I felt I got value for money and will use them again in the future for other tasks and work projects. They are very competent.

Chris is a super young guy and professional in his work. He was prompt both in his response time to my fist inquiry online and he showed up on time for our appointment and took care of my initial problem right away.

The bathroom shower was gutted and a wall removed to open up the room. Chris created a new tiled shower that is beautiful and much larger. The project was done timely and professionally. Crews were here on time each day and the progress was updated on a daily basis so we knew what to expect. Chris was open to our needs, very personable and courteous. I would definitely use this company again for future projects.

We hired Shipley & Sons to build a 2 car garage next to our home. From the beginning of drawing up plans and a contract, and working with the county on all inspections, through to completion, Shipley & Sons was top notch. No surprises, quality work professionally completed, expertise in all areas of construction, beautiful finished project and a garage we are proud to have next to our home. Would recommend Shipley & Sons to anyone for any and all construction needs.

Chris had done great remodel work for us earlier this year, but I was a little hesitant to call him on a small job to hang window shades. He didn't have any problem taking a small job, though he didn't do the work himself. Randy, the guy he sent to do the job, was prompt, courteous, and a good worker. It took him approximately 6 hrs to do all 12 windows and 2 curtain rods. These were very large windows on a high ceiling requiring an 8 to 12 foot ladder. I thought the price was reasonable.

Chris did an excellent job installing a custom fireplace mantel and tile surround in our new spec home. The home builder only offered two types of fireplace finishes...stacked stone, or cheap floor tile surround with no mantel. We wanted a mantel...a traditional wood mantel, so we bought this spec home, but asked the builder not to finish the fireplace after installing the gas flame mechanism and fire box. Chris bid on the project of finishing the fireplace the way we wanted it. He came out to the property a few days before we closed. At no charge, he came out to Estrella Mt. Ranch to see and measure the wall and unfinished fire box. He gave us a detailed estimate on installation of a mantel, tile surround, mounting a big screen TV on the wall over the mantel including moving existing wiring, and building a custom media cabinet with shelving. Due to time and budget constraints, we only contracted with him do the mantel and tile install, but he did a terrific job at a reasonable price. We will use him again for other home remodeling projects in the future. I wanted to put this review in the home remodeling category but didn't know how. Chris is much more than a handyman. He was always prompt with reliable communication either by phone or email. He worked out a schedule that was good for both parties. He was flexible and easy going, but very professional in the way he handled his business. He is a licensed general contractor with expertise in many areas of home remodeling, and he was one of only a few contractors interested in doing a fireplace job. If you want to see the quality work he does, please ask him for photos of our finished fireplace. It is beautiful. He took great care getting the right mantel style we wanted and a wood stain for the mantel that matches the cabinets installed by the home builder. He also did a great job measuring and fitting the correct proportions for the mantel and mosaic tile surround that frames the fire box. If this part isn't done correctly, the whole fireplace can come out looking terrible and off center. Our fireplace looks like a $5,000 upgrade at a fraction of the price.
