Normally this would be a simple project, but the main water to the house was 32 feet from our garage. This required digging a long trench and drilling under our sidewalk. Everything went perfectly. The workers were punctual, professional and friendly. We had no damage to the yard or sidewalk and clean up was meticulous.

We read good things about them in Angie's List so I called them to get information for a sstem for our new home. The salesperson was busy so they were to call me back. After several hours I called back, again the salesman was busy but I left a vm on his line this time. The next day I called again, with the same result. So we decided to drive up to their factory. After that everything went well. Very courteous staff, the person who showed us their system was very knowledgeable. They scheduled the installation promptly and arrived as scheduled. The installer was very professional and nice.

Prompt and very professional service. We're remote owners so we met with them and received an estimate for install when we were there but didn't have a opportunity to see the install until months later. The install is exactly as described and the monthly service is very reasonable. There was an issue locating the water pipe into the house and Water Tec worked with the City to resolve.

This is a quality company who is very responsive to any request. They put in a water softner, water conditioner, and a reverse osmosis unit in our newly constructed home. They showed up on time and did a quality installation. It was obvious that this was not there first install. They knew their stuff and were efficient. We have had to them come back out to readjust the pressure in the holding tank for our reverse osmosis system because either the builder or the city keeps readjusting the water pressure into our home, thus the need for them to come out again. I will continue to use them and highly recommend them to anyone.

We decided to use Water Tec to keep our purchase local and because the reviews on Angie's List were positive. Our experience with Water Tec was also very positive and professional. Our estimator did a good job explaining our options, the pricing, and what it would take to do the installation. We decided to go with the Eliminator softener which also incorporates a carbon filter, and a RO filter for under our kitchen sink. We also accepted the 3 year Platinum service plan which includes regular delivery of our potassium chloride and change out of our carbon filter on the softener when needed. We went with potassium rather than the sodium for health and environmental reasons. George did our installation and did an excellent job with everything working perfectly the first time. No leaks, no problems. George knows what he is doing and we highly recommend him. Our equipment is all working as described and we are very happy with our soft water, as well as our filtered drinking water, and the super nice insta-hot and cold faucet for the filtered water. Be aware if you go with the RO filtering equipment under your sink as well as a heater for the insta-hot you will lose a lot of under-sink space. We were OK with that but do have to relocate our trash bin. We had an excellent experience with Water Tec and highly recommend them.

Water Tec was an excellent company to work with. From the people on the phone, to the sales person, to the installer they were all congenial, professional, competent, courteous, and punctual. The initial water assessment at my home was scheduled at a convenient time for me, the sales person Rick was on time and explained their top of the line system to me as per my request. I researched other companies and products, but elected to go with Water Tec for several reasons. First of all the price was right. I was expecting to pay much more, so this was a great and welcome surprise. Secondly they impressed me with their collective demeanor as outlined above. Thirdly, they are a local company and manufacture the systems themselves which is nice for the local economy and for familiarity with the equipment. After I chose to go ahead with the instal, an appointment was set up the very next day. George arrived on time and went straight to work. I had a whole-home water softener/water filter combination installed in my garage and an under-sink reverse osmosis water filter in my kitchen installed. The unit in the garage is relatively streamlined so it doesn't interfere with driving in or out of the garage in the least. The RO under the kitchen sink is quite large, which cut down on our storage , but having clean filtered water for drinking, cooking, and ice is worth the space taken up. The whole install took about 3 hours to complete. There was no mess, no damage done to my home and no errors in installation. Everything is working perfectly. George took the time to explain the basics of each system and answered any questions I had. As to the products themselves, I couldn't be happier. My water is noticeably softer which is pleasant in the shower, for brushing my teeth and of course for drinking. The soft water has also noticeably helped with washing the dishes, cleaning the kitchen counters and getting clothes cleaner. It will also help to extend the life of all my bathroom fixtures, kitchen and laundry appliances. The filtering also made my drinking water as good as bottled water, in my opinion and the ice has no taste either. I think my dog likes the water better now too;) In short, I highly recommend having a whole-home water softener and filter installed, and having them installed by Water Tec especially.
Description of Work: Water Tec first provided an assessment of my water needs and provided an estimate of the costs, including parts and labor. They provided a convenient service date and installed the equipment on the date and time we had scheduled.

No hassles! We have an older home that had never been plumbed for a softener, so they did all that along with the unit installation and laid an underground runoff hose out into the garden for when the system recharges. Price was exactly as quoted. Everything was left neat and tidy, our water is no longer "hard", and we don't even have to worry about checking or refilling the system with salt. If I remember correctly, you can purchase the salt delivery/refilling service even if you didn't buy your system from them. They also sell to DIY'ers. Great company, great service, business the way it should be! We appreciate a local company that we can depend upon to do just what we need, in a timely manner, with no hassle. They are always courteous and professional.
Description of Work: When the technician came to give us a quote he explained the selection of water softeners (with/without purifying systems) they offer and the prices, including installation, along with the other services they offer. We had them install a new water softener and water purification system. We pay a small charge (less than buying salt ourselves at a store) to have one of their technicians come by automatically every three months to refill the softener and do scheduled system filter replacements, so there is no effort required on our part.

George arrived on time, removed the old water softening system and installed the new softener. He explained how it works, how to use it and tested the water before he left to make sure that it was working properly. I had originally written a negative review due to the poor service that I had received 2 weeks prior. When using Watertec, I will request George. He was very professional and took his work seriously and wanted everything to be perfect.

WAs not a good experience at all, see above
Description of Work: I spoke with these guys about installing a water softener at my newly constructed home. I was told they woud need to test the water prior to recoemmending a system. We are on a well, so this certainly makes sense. It took several weeks to get this done, even though I was told they would contact my contractor as soon as they got off the phone with my first call. After the test was com[pleted, I was sent a bill for well over $200 for the water test. This charge was NEVER mentioned to me during the intial call or when I called them back to ask status of the visit to perform the test. Well over a week had passed subsequent to my initial contact. when I recived the bill and discussed it with the "receptionist" (contact was via email, I asked to speak to the owner regarding the situation. That was almost a month ago, and I have never had the courtesy of a return call. I am most disappointed in the service and could not recommend them to anyone. This is unfortunate since the reviews I read on this website originally said that service and follow-up was their strong suit

Response from Water Tec of Tucson, Inc
We are sorry about the confusion concerning your experience with our company. We do wish to clarify a few things concerning your situation and the water testing you asked us to perform. We have been in the water treatment business in Arizona for over 45 years and are members of the Water Quality Association (WQA) and the Arizona Water Quality Association (AWQA). You contacted our office requesting a quote for water treatment equipment for a private well. As members of water quality associations, we followed industry best practices and standard procedures that would apply to determining water treatment needs related to a private well. Specifically, because the well is private, a complete well analysis must be performed by a qualified lab before equipment can be specified. After explaining to you (on the afternoon of Monday January 7th, 2013) that an independent certified lab would perform this test and that it could take up to two weeks to receive the results, you authorized our company to contact your builder to make arrangements for the test and to e-mail the results to you. After contacting your builder we dispatched one of our service technicians to your property on the morning of Wednesday January 9th, 2013 (2 days from your authorization for water testing) and we obtained a sample from your well for testing to be performed by National Testing Laboratories (NTL); the sample was sent to National Testing Labs the very same day. Furthermore, we e-mailed you an invoice for our services on Wednesday January 16, 2013. If there was any disagreement with the charges for water testing, we would have expected a communication from you before we sent you the results of the testing and a quote for water treatment equipment. To set the record straight, we received the results from NTL on Monday January 21st, 2013; and, on Tuesday January 22nd, 2013 emailed you the results and a quote for the appropriate water treatment equipment. All services and communications were performed as fast as feasibly possible and within the timeline discussed and agreed upon during your request for service. It was not until after receiving the results that you responded to our office disputing the charges. Based on the sequence of events, it appears you waited for the results and then on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, you sent an e-mail disputing the initial water testing service charges. Our charges reflect the actual costs of the tests and the same day testing fees (because you requested prompt service) as published on the NTL web site, shipping, and a refundable $80.00 labor charge to drive 150 miles from our office to get the sample. Again, these charges were explained in detail and agreed upon by you during your initial request for service. Furthermore, it was explained that the $80.00 service charge is credited upon a future purchase of services or equipment. After careful review of the facts the only delay we found was your email to our account receivable person in which you stated “Sorry I did not respond to this sooner. It got lost in email hell, and I just saw it now when I was looking for something else.” Again, we found no delays in performing the requested work or any delays in our communications with you. Considering that our average employee has worked for us for 15 years and the procedure for testing well water has always been the same I am doubtful that your representation regarding non-disclosure of our services charges is valid. As for wishing to speak to an owner, we made attempts to contact you by e-mail and phone, yet received no reply. We have voicemail and our e-mails addresses are easily accessed off of our web site. Yet despite such publicly available information, neither owner ever received a reply from you. Our company tends to be an “old fashion” type company where your word is your bond and we have an established reputation as an ethical company. Although we would like to think this is an unfortunate understanding, we are left to wonder if the test results have been disclosed to, or used by, other water treatment companies? Or, was it used to assist you in your “closing of the home” since many mortgage companies require an independent certified water test before the sale of the home. As you never paid the fees which are $210.00 we are requesting that you immediately return the test results and any copies you may have since we have already paid National Testing Labs for your water sample to be tested. Furthermore, we also request a formal letter of representation that you have not used the results or disclosed the results to any third party and have destroyed all copies of the results. Should you decide not to provide such representations as to the destruction of the test results and all know copies, or if you have disclosed this information to third parties, than it is our opinion is that you are ethically obligated for the payment of $210.00. Regards, Jennifer and Leigh DeGrave, Owners Water Tec of Tucson, Inc

We had another local company who was servicing our home with a water softner as a rental that had been in use since before we purchased the home. We thought it was time to look into something more permanent than shelling out money every month. However, the company we were with had extremely high purchase prices for a permanent system. After doing some research and looking at Angie's List we saw that Water Tec of Tucson was rated at the top of the field. I contacted Water Tec and spoke to Marco who proceeded to outline all of our options from rental to leasing to purchasing. I didn't want to purchase a water system without having tried it out first. After discussions with Marco we decided to rent the system and see if it's something we would want to purchase. He told us that we could rent the system and then apply the the sum of the rental costs to the purchase. We also found out that the total purchase price was still HALF of what the other company wanted to charge us. And the other company wanted to charge us interest during the lease to own option. Marco was an exceptional salesman with no hidden agenda. Everything he told me on the phone was exactly how the contract was drawn up. A week later George came out to the house and did a very professional install. He explained to me what he was doing and why during the entire process. Afterwards, he explained to me how to set the equipment in case of a power outage. He then completely cleaned up the work site like he was never there. If you're interested in a water system, check out Water Tec of Tucson FIRST!!! Fantastic job by all!

Leigh, the owner came to talk to us about water softeners and we were very impressed with his non salesman like discussion. He was about the fourth estimate that we received for water treatment and all of the others gave hard sales pitches and over exaggerated our water problems and tried to sell us very expensive systems. He was also very knowledgeable about how our house was plumbed with an existing salt loop. The installers arrived on schedule and were very organized and got the equipment installed in very short order. They also pointed out some plumbing problems under our kitchen sink that were installed wrong and advised us to get them fixed.

First the very good things. The owner of this company, Leigh, is a fine gentleman and put me at ease immediately during my estimate. I was extremely impressed with him. However, his staff keeps him VERY isolated from the public once you begin your business relationship. The finished product of the installations as described seem well done and are operating beautifully. Now for the harder truths. I had an existing water softener from the previous owner of my home but it was not hooked up. Leigh said it was a decent system and quoted me a very reasonable price to make it functional again. I also wanted to install a reverse osmosis system for drinking water. I felt his estimate was fair and decided to move ahead. It took a long while to get scheduled but I am very busy so this might have been partially due to my own schedule. I did feel that there was a lack of communication from WaterTec's staff ( not immediate in returning calls) which caused misunderstandings during our transaction. The technician who performed the work at my home was professional in his demeanor and appeared to be skilled. He began working in my home at 2pm and did not finish until after 8pm, which was exhausting and inconvenient for me. I still do not understand why this took so long and why they did not schedule it for early in the morning if this was a 6 hour job. The water in my house was turned off for two lengthy periods of time. When I went to shower after the tech FINALLY left, it was ice cold. I called their office to leave a message and it was dispatched to someone's house who just said to call back in the morning. I felt terrible that I disturbed someone late at night even though I was upset that something was obviously wrong. I called Water Tec early at 6:30am explaining that I had no hot water. They sent over the same technician later that morning who did a brief inspection and said everything looked fine, that my heater and pump was working. It was a very cold outside and not having hot water in my bathroom was miserable. I hired a plumber who said that my recycling pump was indeed burnt out due to the long periods of time that my water was turned off. They said the pump should have been turned off to avoid this failure from happening during their installation. It had to be replaced. I paid the plumbing bill and did not ask Water Tec for reimbursement as they were denying responsibility anyway. I called their office a week later to arrange for an adjustment of the soft water system as it felt too heavy for washing my hair, etc. When I requested the appointment the woman who answered their phone said they would be charging me for a service call. I reviewed once again what their installation had cost me in terms of personal discomfort and finances. She said she would discuss it with Leigh. A nicer representative of their company phoned me back later and said there would be no charge for a finite adjustment, which was literally just moving a lever a tad. I wish I had been given access to Leigh, the owner, during all this distress. Although I received a standard "thank you" note from him after the installations which invited communication, I was never able to have a reasonable talk about what transpired at my home with anyone. I actually felt like I was bothering them. Water Tec touts themselves as a family owned company which had great appeal to me in the beginning. I feel disappointed because I was trying to resolve these issues but in the end I felt unvalued and disrespected as a customer. I had hoped to use them for maintenance but I am still traumatized by my experience. I should have written to the owner directly and regret not insisting on dealing only with him. Perhaps it would have been a much different experience in the end and we could have worked out a mutually satisfying arrangement.

I researched water softeners and RO systems and decided to go with Water Tec. I am really pleased with this company. They were on time, very professional and explained everything in detail. A water softener was installed in the house when I bought it, but it never seemed to be working. The technician explained that not only was the softener not functioning, my system was hooked to the water heater only and was not supplying soft water throughout the house. I had no idea. When he installed the new system they also installed pipes from the main water supply to the softener to run throughout the house. The owner came out to do the estimate and he is very nice. I felt like the price was very fair and they also will bring the salt out periodically for you and bill you.
