They were on time to do the work. They did not try to bill me for unnecessary repairs. The leak that they fixed they did not charge me for. They are honest people.
Description of Work: They put in heat strips, adjusted the thermostat, they serviced my A/C unit, and they fixed a leak that they had not adjusted properly.

The system check up went as smooth as I expected, as this was a 2nd opinion visit and it confirmed that I needed a new system. The area that I was disappointed in was Perry wanted to play the same old game... quote you a price, when you select another company then they want a 2nd chance to quote. When your A/C is down in June in Tucson, that is not the time to play games. I told Perry I expected their best price the first time, not after they lost the business. The other company was over 10% lower the first time without playing the "we'll beat anyone's price game" and when you are talking a new system that is more than just pocket change. Final comment: Perry Heating and A/C strikes me as a very good company that I would not hesitate to use. But either be prepared to pay top dollar or play the bidding game.

Poorly... Boy,oh boy! What people will do for a buck! So, Perry Heating Came out and checked the air conditioner at no charge as part of the service agreement for the new system I had installed last year. Then they charged me $79.99 for the service call and then they said they couldn't just put a patch the copper tubing going to the swamp cooler. So, he put all new copper tubing on and charged me for 6 feet of tubing. He charged me $11.54 a foot! So, I complained about that cost, but he showed me the manual where it states the charge. Now to the good part. My friend just happened to call me and I told her that the cost of the copper was $11.54. She just had a fit about the cost. Unbeknownst to me, she called Ace Hardware and asked what their price was for copper tubing for a swamp cooler. They said $0.69 a foot. So, I caught the worker as he was leaving. Even though he was nice, I told him to call their office as I wanted to talk to the manager. He did. I told him what I discovered about the price of copper. He tried arguing with me and asked me if I didn't expect the copper to be more than $0.69. I said, "Of course, I expect you to make money from the copper, but not almost $11 per foot. He then tried to put me down and argue. I interrupted him and said, "Don't try getting into an argument with me. I'm much older and smarter than you are. So make an adjustment in the price. I'm canceling the check that I gave the worker and reporting you to better business bureau. He said, "Let me talk to our serviceman". An adjustment was made. Instead of the original charge of $148.99, the new amount was $88.99. It is too bad these kind of things happen. I feel better though. I feel they made profit, but didn't rob me at the same time.

When I called for an estimate the man was here the next day. He always called when he was on his way. Since my house is very old,I needed ductwork across the roof. This unit was put on the roof also. My favorite part is that he brought his computer with him and I had an estimate right away. He showed me 3 different units at 3 different prices. He explained the pros and cons of each unit clearly. The installers were here the next week. It only took 3 days. They were very professional and clean. I am very happy with the results.
Description of Work: Installed central heating & a/c. Installed ductwork and vents and removed old wall heaters.

The technician was half an hour late and seemed to have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed. I had made the appointment specifically for a furnace and cooler service, yet he did not have the parts on hand to replace cooler pads or belts. He said they were "out of season." He did the rest of the service but told me that the cooler would not run because there was a broken fuse socket, which he also could not fix. He then mis-wired my electricity. I called the next bus. day to correct the mis-wired electric. They wanted to send the same technician; I asked them to send someone more qualified with electric. They told me that it was not their fault because I had "pre-existing" wiring problems. I explained that if the work was beyond the tech's knowledge level, he should not have told me that he could repair it and charge me for it. They sent a different tech who fixed the wiring and the fuse socket without additional charges, so everything worked out to my satisfaction eventually.
Description of Work: The technician serviced both the evap cooler and furnace. I asked him to replace the cooler switch inside the house, and he found some electrical wiring that was not done properly inside the switch. He said he could fix it. When he has performing the inspection, he found a bad fuse socket on the cooler electrical box which prevented the cooler from running properly, and found that the belt and pads needed to be replaced, but could not complete any of this work due to lack of parts. He told me I could "do it later." After he did the other work and left, I found that most of the circuits in my house were dead. I went without lights and outlets the rest of the weekend, until Sunday night when I discovered that if I turned the cooler switch to "low cool" the rest of the electrical in my house would work.

I was very satisfied with the service. They have made such a positive impression on me that I signed a yearly contract with them because if I'm going to have them come twice a year to check on my furnace and on my air conditioning unit I might as well pay a yearly fee and save some money. The good thing about this contract is that if you ever have an emergency with the air conditioning it would regularly take at least a week for them to help you because of their tight schedule but if you have the contract you get moved to the top of the list. It is well worth it for an extra 50 dollars to have the contract with them. They always come in on time and are very helpful when I have questions for them. Another good thing about the contract is that if you ever need any parts replaced you get a 10% discount on the parts as well.
Description of Work: I had them come over to do a regular checkup on my furnace for me. They did the checkup in a couple of hours.

I was quoted a price of $80 for this visit to check out the strange noises coming from the air conditioner and was then charged an extra $40, which I felt obligated to pay. The cleaning of the filter did work and all is quiet again. They should, however be more upfront about their pricing policies.

We are new to Tucson and this was our first experience having the A/C units looked at. Steve arrived at the scheduled time and performed inspections on both our units. He found a coil that was showing signs of damage and recommended replacing it, which we agreed to. He was very helpful and took a lot of time explaining the equipment and how it worked, how to do some maintenance/cleaning on our own and what problems to look for. This was very much appreciated.

Respectful and on time. My outrage is the cost. It was a flat fee and even though I was told about and purchased the service contract which saved me money and I used the $100 coupon from this site. I still had to pay $1,237.50 for 1 man for 4.15 hours. The original amount without the coupon or service contract was $1,600.00 flat fee. Yes I did call 5 other places and only one would give me a quote over the phone which was between 1,000 and 1,200 if they did not have to make 2 trips. All the others wanted to charge me for a visit or just refused to come out at all since the unit was under warranty. Holy Cow! That is almost $300 per hour!
Description of Work: The compressor on my roof top a/c unit stopped working. A Perry repairman came out and gave an estimate. The compressor was under warranty which was good news. So all I had to pay was the labor cost which was bad news. After having to wait (busy season, I know)2 weeks the unit was installed with no problems....... the work was started and completed today.

After getting an estimate from Jason Cox, the sales representative for Perry Heating and Cooling, we decided to hire Perry to install a new AC/Heat system. The estimate was somewhat higher than the other companies we got quotes from, but Jason was the fastest and most comprehensive in getting the estimates to us. He responded to emails and phone calls within 24 hours if not the same day. When I needed things explained several times, he was very patient, making sure I understood the features we were buying and how they compared to other units. The work was scheduled within a reasonable amount of time and completed in just a few days. The workmen were very accommodating with my desires to try to put the air return some place where it wouldn't look so ugly. They listened to and even implemented my recommendations about the final spot for the return. The system worked very well and was very quiet. The gas heat portion was much more expensive to run than we expected.
Description of Work: Had old swamp coolers (which had been leaking) removed and replaced with a new Infinity 14 Single-Packaged Air Conditioner and Gas Furnace System With Puron (R-410A) Refrigerant 2 to 5 Normal Tons with a Trane CleanEffects Whole House Air Filtration System.

The technician was on time and very knowledgeable. We had them come out to see what was wrong with the AC and they investigated and gave us their recommendation. We needed a whole new condenser unit which they had installed in 2 days. They could have done it sooner if not for my pricing investigations and personal schedule. We will do business with this company again.

Very satisfied with work and all persons associated. Cost of initial call was $79.95. Second call was just cost of part (circuit board $550 minus Angie's 10% discount coupon.
Description of Work: First call tech performed a diagnostic on our furnace but it did not show a failure when he was there but he did narrow the possible problem to two parts. Called tech back out after a week because I was able to determine which part was defective (based on techs information). He replaced the broken part (circuit board) in a few minutes and everything has been working fine.

The tech suggested I install future filters at the heater front rather than in the duct on a 14 ft. ceiling, saving me "handyman" fees every 90 days. He also told me I didn't have to drain the water heater yearly if I maintained the whole-house water softener. I'll be saving money and worrying less. And I received the listed 10% discount.

The repairman showed up on time, appeared knowledgeable and did an excellent job. The problem I had concerned the labor charge that included over 30 minutes travel time to the job at the full hourly rate, and then an extra 15 minutes on the end for "rounding". I called the billing office about what I considered the excessive labor charge (45 minutes for non-work time) but was told that the bill was correct.

I will call them again if I have any kind of heating or cooling problems! I have several apartments and am always in need of service people. This was the first time I used Angie's List, and must say, I am very satisfied.
Description of Work: Air conditioning had water running from it, on top of roof. Turned out to be the condensation tube was too short to fit in the drain, so they put on a new one and checked everything else out. They were very punctual and were in and out in less than a 1/2 hr.
