Description of Work: Hired to provide and install a new variable speed pool pump and a 330K BTU heater. They also arranged for all installation, building permit, etc. We have solar heat as well so requested the connection to be set up in a certain manner which we were assured could be done but the installers weren't informed. They trenched from the gas meter to the heater site for a new gas line and set the pipe for gas company connection. The initial installers set the pump but were unfamiliar with its operation so we needed to bring in a supervisor to set it up. For electrical connection, they removed the tabs from the existing mechanical timer so that the power remained on but they didn't remove the old mechanism so the motor still turns the dial. The variable speed pump failed after a few days while they were still working on the job so they brought in a new unit. I questioned the installation routing (gas heater then solar is the way it is installed) but one of the more expert crews told me that would be disadvantageous for a number of reasons which did make sense. Overall, start to finish took a little over a week and the site was cleaned up prior to their departure. The system seems to be working well although our pass-down was limited. I'm working with the speed settings on the pump in order to find the optimum setup. Overall we're satisfied with the work and would likely use them again but withheld an overall "A" rating due to mixed expertise and familiarity with the equipment by some of the crew.
