We believe in providing a fair, honest service to our customers at a fair, honest price. We have an $95.00 diagnostic fee that covers the time to get to your home as well as the time to diagnose your systems problem. Once the problem is found, our technician will show you what the repair will cost up front before any repairs begin. We also offer free estimates for air conditioning and heating installation, and evaporation cooler replacement. We do not use subcontractors, all work is performed by our staff.

A good company to deal with. After researching AC/Furnace combination I selected the items I was interested in. With that knowledge I called Baker?s Mobile Air and spoke to Mark Wilson, General Manager and asked him for a quote on a Lenox System. He told me he will call me back in 20 minutes which he did. I found Mark a professional person knowing his equipment and prices. I made an appointment with him to see him at my house for next day. He asked what is most important in this ac/Furnace combo for me and after telling him that my house air intake is positioned poorly (noisy) he recommended a different furnace (for the same price) and also told me that he would have his installers install an air baffle to dampen the sound. (no extra charge). After agreeing to the cost we set up an installation date. Manny was the installer with a helper. I found Manny professional, caring and most importantly very knowledgeable about his work and takes pride in it. He also likes to work for the company and it shows. I would like to recommend Baker?s to anyone needing their service.

I have been using their services for about five years since they installed the new unit. When we had some problems with it, they took care of all the troubles. They have done and good job and are very responsive. Overall, they have done a fine job.

They were very responsive to scheduling. I felt that the cost for the service was a fair amount. The last technician who came out was real good. He even recommended not making any changes unless it was necessary.

I had come home from work to see the pipe spewing out water. The technician who came out was nice. He had the part with him that was needed for the repair. They welded a small piece in. They charged about $300 for the job which I thought that was a little high. I had asked them to put in more insulation round the pipe, but I am unsure if they ever did that. My experience with them was okay.
Description of Work: They fixed a leak on a roof pipe that had broken when it froze.

The unit had been leaking for some time...I called another repair shop, but the tech could not fix it because of back trouble he was having. He recommened Blue Sky, and he came out the next day and fixed the problem quickly. Excellent workmanship and a fair price.

Every company should be like Baker's Mobile Aire. After more than 10 years of homeownership, I have had my share of unscrupulous and slimy contractors but Baker's has restored my faith. I also got estimates from two other AC companies; one highly rated on Angie's list and the other contracted by Home Depot. Both used dishonest selling tactics to justify the extra cost. At first, I was a bit concerned to pay $89 to Baker's for a service visit when I already knew I needed a new unit and if I didn't use them, then it would be money down the drain. Dick, the service technician, came out to see if my condenser could be saved, but at over 15 years old, it was time to part ways. Dick was upfront about my options; replace just the condenser unit on the roof with the old freon type or replace the entire system which would be more expensive and not only the latest freon type but much more energy efficient (the other two companies didn't even give me the option of replacing just the condenser unit). The other two companies were pushy and flashy; going on and on about what made them better and putting down other companies. But the only reason I even considered one of them was because I needed the financing options offered by Home Depot...it was two weeks without AC in the middle of June and it was late at night, so in a moment of weakness, I signed the contract. I knew it was a mistake soon after he left. My first thought was how can they get a building permit for a 9am install the next morning when he left my house at 9pm? If not, do they return the $300 he claimed it cost? How can they construct all new, custom duct work by 9am tomorrow morning? I decided to cancel the contract with that company early the next morning. (I would come to find out that they forced thru the financing and I was hit with a $7000 bill for work never performed!) My decision to go with Baker's was confirmed when I compared the estimates side by side; I found that Baker's estimate for a 14 SEER system was almost $1000 cheaper than the 13 SEER identical system from the other two companies so I signed a contract with Baker's and have never regretted it. Baker's sent out Dick the next day to measure my current system so that they could prefabricate the ductwork. On the install day, Manny showed up on time and immediately went to work. Manny and his assistant (John?) were professional, friendly and explained everything. They even checked that the floor of the furnace closet was stable and would support the weight. I love the fact that Dick and Manny have been with Baker's for years; this tells me that this company treats its employees well and it shows. I like getting to know who is working on my house and building trust with a company and its technicians; I also trust the experience they have gained. I don't trust companies that send out young, inexperienced technicians who cycle through every few months. Working with Mark Wilson, the GM, is a pleasure. He responds to emails and voicemails quickly and answers questions thoroughly; he is an absolute professional. I was not met with any resistance when I told him I wanted to use a new thermostat that would work with my smart home system. I purchased my own, he credited my bill and it was installed and setup with no issues. The installers even noticed an issue with my Mastercool so they turned off the water supply and disconnected the power until I could have them back to service it. They completed the work at the estimated time, thoroughly cleaned up and answered all of my questions before they left. It has been over 3 months since my system has been installed and I could not be happier. I have recommended them to several co-workers and friends. I will use them again to get my Mastercool up and running next season and I will be using them for dryer vent cleaning. If you want a no-nonsense, honest company...call Baker's Mobile Aire. You will not regret it.

Baker's Mobile Aire,3149 E, 47th St, Tucson AZ 85713,, ph5206235449, www.bakersair.com. Manny arrived on schedule and checked out my Air Conditioner unit. He diagnosed the problem to be low Freon and filled it. He discussed a lot of what was going on and what was expected and kept me informed of the process. He worked wonders with the Air Conditioner. He washed the coils adding to the efficiency of the Carrier A/C. I would recommend thai company to anyone needing Heating/A/C service.,
Description of Work: A/C was continuously running to keep house around 80 degrees. the technician diagnosed and repaired the A/C by adding Freon and replacing an electrical part. A/C improved 100%.

Everything went well with the installation? Baker's Mobile Aire (BMA) crew were onetime and very professional. Installation time was fantastic, and the work performed was excellent. The crew cleaned up and removed all of their own materials. Now for the bad? well, not really bad, just a hiccup, but not from the service or system ? After a few days, I started having communication errors within my system. This was between the IComfort thermostat and the unit. They were not talking to each other, and the system would not come on. I called BMA and they were back that same day and worked on the system. Manny (supervisor) pulled all the wiring and reattached and the system was back up and running. This went on one more time, and BMA responded to the service call right away? they elected to replace the computer board in the system? This worked for a few more days, and the communication errors returned and the system shut down again. Now, I was in contact with Todd (president of BMA) and he got heavily involved? When I called, he said he was already monitoring my system (yes, monitoring - with the advanced IComfort thermostat), and he saw that the system had shut down, and was having communication errors again. He was already in contact with Lennox Corporate, and they thought the problem may be coming from interference within the home wiring bundle and causing the communication errors. Todd looked at availability of all his technicians, and they were all out on jobs, so, he (yes the president) came out to work the problem. After Todd got out here, he talked to me about what Lennox and him thought was the problem? Within the wiring that runs from the unit, condenser, and the thermostat, there are extra wires that are not used, so they are just peeled back and wrapped around the bundle (causing the interference). So, at each area, he pulled all of the wiring, and reattached, and then the extra wiring was grounded with a wire nut in all three areas. Because of the technology of this system, the communication between the entire system is very important. We discovered that some home wiring whether older or newer may be the culprit of these advanced systems? Since the last visit, I have not had one issue, and I am very happy with service of all at Bakers Mobile Aire.
Description of Work: I recently put in a new air-conditioning and heating system (Dave Lennox Signature Collection XC21 Air Conditioner andSL280V Variable Speed Gas Furnace). The whole process went very smooth from estimate to installation. I had to make the decision to replace my 10 year old Rheem compressor that went bad, and work some other minor issues with my system, or take the plunge with a complete new system. Well, I took the plunge after realizing that a new system would also save me money on my TEP bill over the long run... And it has already, 17% energy decrease from last years bill…

Everyone I spoke with was very friendly and professional and really worked hard. Since I'm new to the electronic "gizmos" associated with the wi-fi thermostat, they took the time to explain everything to me and show me how to make it work! The unit is very quiet and keeps the upstairs quite cool. We have not at this time received a utility bill to compare the effeciency with our old unit.

Manny Lagarda and his crew saw that the installation of our Lennox system went smoothly and on time. Our system included a Lennox wi-fi thermostat. After a few months it began to drop the wi-fi signal on and off throughout the day. We called Baker?s and Todd Baker came out that afternoon because everyone else was on other jobs. After much testing and head-scratching he could not resolve the issue but called the next morning to say that he would install a new thermostat. He and a technician came out that afternoon but the new thermostat had the same problem dropping the wi-fi signal. They determined that our internet wi-fi router was the culprit? which would explain why my iPhone was also dropping the wi-fi signal. We called the internet company who sent a stronger router. Problem solved. Todd Baker?s response to our problem was immediate? and time-consuming? We appreciate that he went to such lengths to provide us with the best service possible.

Awful, awful, awful. SUMMARY - Bakers sends minimalist, incompetent technicians who don't know what they are doing. They use gauges, not visual inspection or common sense. We don't care how long they have been in business or whether they are local or family-owned. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Don't expect a call back if you have already had them service your cooling units. Their mistakes cost us $800 in maintenance that had to be done over and over...and now we have a damaged AC compressor because of their incompetence. And we still have to deal with an evaporative cooler that they screwed up. STORY - Bakers performed regularly scheduled maintenance of our whole house evaporative cooler and central air conditioning. They checked the cooler and hooked up gauges to the air conditioning unit. When we finally turned the cooler on a month later, it didn't work efficiently. My husband checked the cooler. The cooler pads were filthy and encrusted. Bakers handed us the bill and never told us about the pads. The pads are 8" thick so we had to call them again to have the pads changed. In the meantime, our family was having respiratory problems most likely from the filthy, encrusted pads. (Legionnaire's type symptoms.) The cooler never worked properly, even after changing pads. One of the air flow flaps is probably closed. We called Baker. They did not call us back. Then it was time to switch to air conditioning. We gave up and haven't had the cooler fixed.At the same time as Bakers performed the routine maintenance on our cooler, we had Bakers service our air conditioning in preparation for the summer. When we turned the AC on a month later, it didn't work either. We called Bakers but they did not return our calls. When we finally got a hold of a real person (female), she was unapologetic and bureaucratic. We finally called Crystal Cooling & Heating on a friend's recommendation. Crystal's report: The AC refrigerant was overloaded and needed to be drained, The permanent filter that Bakers sold us was too thick to create a good air flow. The AC coils were filthy, preventing air flow. The coils did not drain. The compressor was damaged when it was overcharged with refrigerant.

Our company takes accusations of unethical business practices very seriously. It is unfortunate that your experience with our company has been less than perfect. We would like to address the replacement pad situation first. It is not our practice to sell our customers anything that is not needed. Almost all evaporative cooler pads in Tucson are encrusted even after a short usage. It is the calcium and minerals present in the water that makes the pads look this way. We are sympathetic to any health issues that your family may have experienced, but legionnaire’s disease is a very serious illness that is primarily diagnosed when pneumonia is presented in a patient. The bacteria are present in up to 80% of water, not due to a dirty pad. The communication breakdown that you experienced does not follow the character of the type of business we conduct. I'm not sure who you spoke to, we do not have any females that answer phones here. If you call, you will speak with Mark or Todd. It would be hard to confuse either of us as female. The filter that was sold is an Air Care 92% arrestance filter. It is ASHRAE ( American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) rated for use in residential air conditioners like yours. We do not sell or install products that would negatively effect the performance of any air conditioning system. We stand behind all service and repair with a one year warranty. If the same problem or failure occurs within that time, we fix it for free. We will honor that warranty for your cooler, we were unaware that you were experiencing this issue.
