This was the second time That Ralph, the Owner acted irresponsibly. Today was the most offensive. We had an agreed upon 1030 am appointment for weed service on the property. I called at 10:44 and no response. Called again at 1215 and was told that while he 'appreciated the business in the past, the 10:30 time was too late. He had another job opportunity earlier and it was better for his workers. So, he just didn't show up. He could have called, not sure why he didn't but to just blow off a job while leaving a customer waiting is poor business practice. I have used Ralph before with excellent results and was always pleased but this is inexcusable. About two weeks ago we had a date for service which he again chose to 'set aside' for another customer but we were able to work it out and because it was the first time Ralph had ever behaved this way with me I let it go. But today being the second time was a bit too much. And when he did do the front yard weeds two weeks ago, he was alone, no others workers and the quality was not up to the usual standard I have come to expect with this company. I am sorry to say that I will never again call on Affordable Yard and Tree and will not be able to give a good report if asked for a referral. This has been a very big disappointment. The first time I was able to overlook it. This being the second time I am afraid to say I cannot.

We hired them after finding them on Angie's List and they even gave us a discount. They responded back to us right away and we able to come out the next day. The owner of the company completed the work and he was here for almost six hours. Compared to other companies, their price was very good. They were very hardworking, punctual, and went above and beyond. They did a very good job with the work.

Ralph was at all times professional and efficient. He returned my call promptly, was able to schedule a time the same day, and when we agreed on the work and fee he got the job done quickly. All was done to my satisfaction and will definitely use Ralph's services again.

The owner was able to come out soon after I spoke with him. Our front yard was a mish mash of plants, weeds and wooded edging. He gave me several ideas on how to make this area look more attractive along with cost effective solutions. We agreed he would just plant the tree for now and we could go over my options again later. He was very professional, hard working and clearly has a good work ethic! Yes, we will call him to come out again.

Ralph did a great job. He showed up on time and was flexible working around my schedule which I really appreciated. I will use him again and recommend him to others. His price was in line what I expected.

He was wonderful and very knowledgable. He even took time to explain everything to me. He also suggested trees to plant for when we're ready to plant another tree. He definitely went above and beyond the call of duty.

They arrived on time and worked continuously until everything was done. Trees were trimmed up with some thinning. Two large bushes were removed which opened up the backyard. They hauled off some dead stumps and took out dying plants. Everything came out beautifully. Ralph was very professional and did a complete job. The price quoted was fair and realistic. We asked him to come back for monthly maintenance.

I was very satisfied. He responded to my phone message within a couple of hours and we were able to arrange a time for him to do the work very soon. He got hung up on another job, but called to let me know this and that he would be there within the hour and he WAS! His quick response to my initial call and his professionalism in keeping in touch with me about a brief delay in his arrival was impressive. In my experience, few landscapers do this. He and his workers did the work efficiently and I was very satisfied with the results. He listened to my requests and filled them as well as making some very appreciated suggestions as I am not "into" the gardening thing! All in all, one of my best experiences with a landscaper/yard worker. Thanks Ralph!

I have been using Ralph's service for 3 months now, and I am very satisfied. He did some major trimming on his first visit, and on his second visit he applied weed pre-and-post emergent to about a third of the lawn as well as maintenance trimming and yard cleanup. At this visit, things are in good shape and only need to be maintained. Ralph is very friendly and personable and is agreeable to doing what I want him to do. He arrives when he says he will and does a good job of cleaning up the yard and doing ongoing maintenance trimming of my bushes and some decorative trees in the yard. I plan to have Ralph continue to come on a monthly basis to keep the yard and plantings (bushes and trees - no ornamental plants or flowers) looking nice and well-maintained. It is a pleasure to see his smiling face when he comes.

It went very well. Ralph and his crew were at my house less than 24 hours after my service request. They got right to work, did a great job, and cleaned up well. I thought the fee was fair for the amount of work they did. I am very pleased. :-)

Contacted Ralph on a friend's recommendation. He set up an appointment. Today he called ahead to tell us he would be 20-30 minutes late. He was. He arrived with a a crew ready to work if we selected him. After reviewing the job, he gave us an estimate we thought was a bit high. He then discounted the estimate if we used his services today. This was acceptable, so he cm,ended. Ralph and his crew were friendly, efficient and fast. All of them were responsive to our questions and concerns. Everything was done to our satisfaction, except they had to explain to us up front why our idea about trimming a particular tree limb could unbalance the tree and cause damage to the tree and/or our fence. They cleaned up and even blew out the garage with a leafblower. At the end one of the crew said, "anything to put a smile on your face." They did!

.Ralph was very professional and knowledgeable. He had suggestions about trimming other trees on our property.

On Sunday afternoon I spoke with Ralph Levon Jr. (the owner of "Affordable Yard and Tree Services") and made arrangements for today at 6:00 a.m. Ralph and his crew were very punctual and after we spoke and he understood what I wanted done to the Acacia tree, they immediately began working. They were very polite, professional, and efficient, and are excellent representatives for Angie's List. I am very pleased with the outcome of the job that was done and the cleanliness of the area after they were finished. I highly recommend Ralph and his crew from "Affordable Yard and Tree Services"and I would definitely be utilizing their services again in the future.

Ralph and his crew arrived ready to work, and the work was "spot-on." Ralph looked at each plant, made recommendations, and listened to our requirements. While originally wanting to just trim the cholla, I went with Ralph's suggestion to remove it. And I'm happy I did, as it really "opened" that area of the backyard. I was amazed how thorough the clean-up was, especially with the cholla. We have dogs and haven't had any issues with thorns or stickers in their paws from the yard work.

I gave this provider a C because my yard was cleaned up, but i have several issue with the service. 1. This providers price is hardly "affordable." This is truly a misnomer and a "come on" in his newspaper and Angie's List ads. I had another service give me an estimate of $105 for the whole job. But, I couldn't get on their schedule quick enough. This guy was shocked when I told him that and assured me he would do so much more. Since hiring him, I had another service do the front and back yard for $100, and he even applied a pre-emergent treatment for weed growth prior to the beginning of the monsoon. When I told this landscaper how much we paid Affordable Yard and Tree Service, he responded, "I know how much those type of people overcharge. The Affordable Yard and Tree owner bragged about all the power equipment he has to do his work and explained that it was expensive. I resent his overcharging to pay for his equipment. 2. I asked him to cut unwanted growth at the bottom of my grapefruit tree and trim the dead stuff from the damage caused by the freeze this past winter. He took his power tool and shaped the tree. Many dead branches were not removed, and he cut off all the new growth that had the blossoms for new fruit. Last year the tree was laden with grapefruit. This year I only have 6 grapefruit because he cut off all the new fruit. You shouldn't need to stand by a landscaper's side to assure that he doesn't ruin your tree. 3. He supposedly trimmed a mesquite tree that was in the back yard. Three months later limbs are growing over the patio slab and into the neighbors yard. He didn't touch a lysoloma tree at the front door...it was dormant. Now that it has started to grow it is hanging over the house. He should have trimmed the limbs on that tree also. So my advice to others is, he is a sweet talker and will offer you much. But, you must "stand by his side" if you hire this guy, and refuse to be overcharged. Update: Changed rating on purpose. I had to hire a new service, because just 3 1/2 months after this "affordable?????" service, the lysosomal tree in the front of the house, which Ralph L never touched, had limbs growing against the house on the stucco. With the monsoon weather, I feared that the wet foliage would cause damage. In addition, for the $600' Ralph L. trimmed a grapefruit and mesquite tree in the backyard. i called the new landscaper, because the mesquite was growing across the patio, hitting us in the head when we walked out there. When the new landscaper looked at the mesquite tree, he showed me that just trimming the tips of a limb as Ralph L did, causes the tree to grow more branches. He said this is why the tree was growing over the patio. He said that if you want to trim out a tree you must remove the entire branch from the main limb. He did that, and we still have the shade giving canopy of the upper limbs without the lower ones, that were stimulated to grow more in May, hitting us in the head. The new landscaper looked at the grapefruit tree, and agreed that I lost a lot of fruit because the new growth was trimmed away when Ralph L shaped the tree. Four comments to the owner of Affordable Lawn and Tree Service as per his response to my first review: 1. In a busy season, don't try to cash in on all the available work, and only take on what you can do well. 2. Take a course in tree trimming so you can use your expensive tools effectively. 3. Several things you say in your response are incorrect. I called you ala your ad in the Arizona Daily Star after checking out your rating on Angie's List. Therefore, I do not know why you are referring to the work you did for me as drive up service. The $105 estimate was from a licensed, insured business that works for many owners in our development, and that estimate was not revealed to you until you gave your price. You told me how much better a job you were going to do for me listing tree trimming that wasn't in the other estimate. If you will retread my first review, you will notice that I agreed that my yard was cleaned up, and I was pleased about that. But, at that time I could not tell the ramifications of the work on my trees. I have had another service twice to clean up mesquite leaves, and again when the pods fell. They are licensed and insured, and they even applied a pre-emergent weed treatment before the monsoons. First service $65. Second service $ 45. Your prices are too high! 3. I will not contact you for whatever you offer in your post. You've done enough to my yard and me.

Ralph was extremely responsive and professional. He came to the house very quickly to provide a quote and did the work immediately - fast turnaround was one of our big concerns. He was one of the most straightforward contractors I have ever worked with. Ralph carefully listened to what we wanted to have done and did not suggest expensive add-ons. The work was great, our yard looks wonderful, he left our property very clean & neat. I would recommend Ralph to anyone.

Took four or five calls to get him to come to the house to give us an estimate. Since he and two men came we decided to go ahead and have the work done. However we thought the price was a little high.

Ralph and his colleague did a great job cleaning up my yard as well as pruning and trimming two trees. I was very happy he was able to do the work so soon after I called. Will definitely be calling him for additional work in the future.

Ralph L. was very informative and enthusiastic. Appreciated what needed done and did a great job with everything. He went above and beyond my expectations.

We are new transplants from California to Tucson. We just moved into our home and our yards needed some attention. Ralph and team did a great job and performed above my expectations. Trimmed things I did not expect and even cleaned the dog do from our back rocks. Very satisfied with the job and would certainly refer them to someone that is looking for their yard to be cleaned up

Ralph actually came out days before we had originally arranged. After showing him what I was interested in having done he got right to work. He did a wonderful cleanup for me. I asked about an irrigation leak and he repaired it at no cost to me. I will be having Ralph come back to add rock to my backyard. Ralph is a wonderful person to do business with and I will definitely use him again and would recommend him to my friends.

I wish I could give Ralph a B+ rating because his service was much better than a B. However, it was difficult to schedule a day and time with him. I have limited time available for things like this, so try to schedule appointments a week in advance so I can plan my other activities. This was difficult to do with Ralph, because he operates on a more immediate basis. (See other reviews where customers said they called one day and he came out the next.) We had a couple of miscommunications before he was able to come and do the work at a time when I was available. That said, he did a good job quickly at a reasonable price. My back yard was particularly messy and he got rid of all the weeds and trimmed back dead branches on a fig tree. Debris blown out from gravel and all trash picked up and hauled away. I definitely would hire him again.

I called Ralph and he answered his own phone. He agreed to come out on a Monday at 0900. He caled Sunday night to confirm an then showed up on Monday morninig. Ralph and Eric were prepared to do the work. They listened to what I wanted to have done and then made some suggestions that complemented what I wanted. They removed a palm tree, some bushes and plants that had been damaged by the freeze. They cleaned up the area around the orange tree and then planted 6 cacti in the front an dback yards. They also blew out the back yard to get rid of the debri. I would recommend the to anyone needing yard work done.

The owner, Ralph, was quick to respond and was able to do the work the morning after my initial call. I had a few other quotes for the same work description that were lower, but they could not get to it until the following week. Ralph worked with me to bring the price down a bit by prioritizing work. The tree trimming he performed was the best I have had. The two assistants worked diligently with proper blowing of the area upon completion. Ralph had me survey the work upon completion and wanted to make sure I was pleased with the services received. There are still a few weeds remaining, but overall, I am very pleased. He delivered what he promised in terms of getting the yard to a manageable place. I will use this company again. Again, Ralph does an outstanding job on mesquite trees! I appreciated his work ethic and professionalism.

Ralph and his four man crew showed up in two trucks with trailers. Both he and his crew were friendly and very professional. They cleaned up the entire yard and the public strips along the street (I have a corner house) in about an hour and a half.
