Our garage door had managed to get derailed somehow. I called A-Authentic based on its Angie's List reviews. The technician arrived on time and quickly evaluated the condition of the door. He started pointing out additional items that he thought needed to be attended to. Primarily, he said the springs were weak and should be replaced. That was followed by, "for the cost of the springs, you're better off getting the entire rebuild package". He said he could either charge me the cost of just the derailment repair (something like $100 or $150) or I could just apply that to the rebuild package -- which equated to him effectively repairing the derailment for free with the purchase of the rebuild package. I opted for the rebuild package, but I left this experience feeling like I was dealing with a salesperson versus a service technician. I'm pretty sure these "technicians" are encouraged to up-sell customers and I'm rather confident they must work on some type of commission. After scrutinizing the original invoice he left me with, I realized that the per item costs were not itemized, so I called them the next day asking for that information. For the sake of transparency, I am posting that here: 2x -- 250-39 Spring (red) -- 207 Spring (black): $99.95 each 1x -- 3 pc Bearing set EBF: $65 + $79.95 (not sure why there were two different costs here) 1x -- Set of Cables (7ft): $69.95 1x -- Set of Drums (7ft): $59.95 10X -- Nylon BB Rollers: $119.95 On top of that, there was $40 of labor and $35.89 in tax They gave me some $10 discount for being an AAA member. Would not use them again.

Technician accommodated his schedule to my availability. He arrived as scheduled and performed the job quickly and efficiently. Highly recommended for future jobs.

The service technician showed up and said he does not carry small garage door rollers.

It was done quickly and correctly. The unit is a whisper drive and works great.

I didn't give them high marks because I had to contact Angie's List twice to have the contractor contact me. Tech was only here 30 minutes, so not convinced I got my money's worth. He bent the track on both sides to get the old rollers out instead of unbolting the track. That didn't set well with me.

I called them today, they were able to come out today. They were prompt, punctual and professional. I highly recommend them.

While they did a great job on installation - follow on service was not covered by warranty even though the technician said it would be covered.

He fixed the door. Gave an estimate on the remaining "life" in the opener. Explained why the present opener was not engineered well. Provided an written estimate on a replacement door opener when it will be needed. He solved my program and did not just try to sell me a new opener--The previous company had come 4 times and never solved the problem, charged me a huge amount of money and gave me an estimate for a replacement door ---the brand and engineering which is inferior. The A-Authentic representative was prompt, polite, knowledgeable.

Replaced all the rollers with nylon rollers for more silent operation. Cleaned and lubricated all moving parts. Performed an inspection on the opener to make sure it was operating as designed. Very efficent at the job arrived on time and did a good job.

I was so impressed by this man! He could have gotten me for the whole system, but only charged me for the trip out and my door was fixed. He spent about 30 - 45 minutes trying to find this problem. They've impressed me before, the mechanics they send out have always been courteous, taken their time and their price is always fair to moderate, so I can't complain! This is my second time to use them. I would recommend them to anybody. They are excellent!

we get another 7 years of service out this part then we should consider replacing the motor. The technician was very professional, took the time to explain what he doing. I realized then that I'm glad I did not attempt to do this myself. When I called yesterday they offered to come right away! I said it would be more convenient to come the following day and they did. Then technician was prompt and waste no time fixing my opener. I would un-equivocally recommend this company to anyone.

i was charged $89 for this service by angie's list on 7/29/13. i was told that A Authentic Garage Door Svc Co would contact me on or before 7/31/2013. i have never heard from them.

My wife and I were leaving to go visit my elderly mother and were in a hurry. The garage door was up, but the garage door opener was accidentally touched and activated as I was backing out of the garage, and the car hit the door as it was closing, causing what we thought was major damage. We were devastated because of our stupidity, but also because it couldn't have happened at a worse time for us. We called A-Authentic right away and they sent repair technician Jose, who arrived within two hours. To my wife's amazement ( I had to leave to go sing in a Christmas concert), Jose easily put the garage door back into alignment and replaced two rollers. The door now works better than it did before I hit it with the car. What looked like major damage is now just a small dent that is hardly visible. The cost was very reasonable under the circumstances and my wife was very impressed with Jose's knowledge of garage doors. Jose gave us an estimate to replace the damaged panel and also to replace the entire door. Because of Jose's expert repair, we can put this decision off until after the 1st of the year. Thank you Jose!!

Jose arrived on time and went right to work identifying the problem and fixing everything. He told me what further work needed to be done in the near future to keep the doors running properly and gave me a written quote on those services. I was extrememly pleased with every aspect of this company's service and professionalism.

The door is noticeably quieter during operation. Identified another cause of noise during opening as a bearing problem, recommended a solution and gave a reasonable quote for repairs.

The technician arrived during the time frame quoted by the office and was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He clearly explained all of my options and provided quotes for each option. The repair itself took about 25 minutes and he showed me everything he did and tested the garage door in front of me to make sure I was satisfied with the work. I highly recommend them for all garage door repairs!
