They were on time, courteous, answered all my questions and were very careful not to dirty my townhouse. I would recommend and use them again.

The only part of this that I'm not 100% happy with was the initial investigation. My A/C stopped (in the middle of the summer) and I called my normal A/C guys but they couldn't come out until 2 days later (100+ degree days). I went to Home Depot looking for a room A/C and a guy asked if I was interested in a repair. I told him if he could get someone to my house the same day, I'd go with him. He contacted Orangutan to come by later that day. The service guy that showed up told me it would cost at least $600 to fix plus $200 for something else or I could replace the entire unit and get something that was more efficient. I'm not 100% convinced this was correct, so a second opinion would probably be a good idea. But, since it was going to be a hot day and my computer had crashed from the heat the day before causing drives to fail, I went for a complete replacement. The old unit was the original 12 year old unit that the builder put in. I thought the price I got the new unit for was a very good price. It was the Home Depot price (which was lower than their normal price) and because I was reluctant to do either (repair or replace) without a second opinion, he lowered the price another $700 below the Home Depot price. The installers showed up the next day. There was supposed to be a third guy but he was sick so it was only 2 guys. They worked hard for about 8 hours on a very hot day in the attic putting the replacement unit in. I'm extremely happy with the installers. That's the main reason I gave the highest marks possible. They did an excellent job and worked hard all day. They made sure everything was very well done and they showed up on time. This was the day after the initial call for service so it was scheduled the night before.

They were very professional. They work was done on time. No additional charges. I would highly recommend them.

I was very diappointed in the service because my main purpose for contracting this company was that I assumed that cleaning the coil would be a part of the system maintenance.

They did a fantastic job! We were extremely satisfied with the service and thoroughly happy with the job. They were neat and clean. This is very important because my mother is very particular. They even took pictures of the ac unit on the roof to show us how it was installed and how it works. It was unbelievable!

They were very good. I would use them again in the future.

I inherited the property and the service contract from my mother. The property is vacant this summer, but last week we observed the a/c was not working. Repairman came out and found a leak in the coolant He said that if the leak is under the house, the warranty will not apply. He said we needed to have a nitrogen test to find the leak. They scheduled that service for the following day from 10-2, but they didn't bother to tell me. I re-scheduled it for the following Monday from 7-11. I live 35 miles away and have to sit outside or in my car while they are there. At 7:30, I was told they were en route. At 8:45 I was told they would be there shortly. I finally left at 10:10. The repairman called at about 10:15, and I could not understand him but gathered that he would not be there before 11. Customer service people show no consideration for the customer who is out in the heat in 100+ degrees.

When I moved her in 2010 I sidned a contract with them yo check my heat pump twice a year.On the first inspection they replaced an electrical relay.The contacts did seem to be worn.On the second inspection they recharged the freon.I learned at this time that the maintenance workers are paid strictly commission.It was obvious that something would be wrong with my unit each time they inspected it.I asked them not to service my unit any more even though I had paid for a 3 year contract.

The price was good and they beat all the competitors. Installation crews need improvement where the senior tech was not helping the apprentice. The installation took 2 days to complete where other company installed the same system took only one day to get everything done. The drywall crew called and scheduled the apptointment but never show up as promise. Out of the entire experience, the sale person was the nicest.

Overall, it was a good experience. My husband and I read the previous reviews on Orangutan and were a little concerned. We had spoken to Joel of Orangutan at Home Depot who was very customer oriented. After making the appointment, Carlos (Tech) performed the entire inspection and found what the problem was. We felt we had made the right choice. Tony (Tech) arrived the next day, and installed the new compressor. Overall, we found the Team at Orangutan to be very professional and highly skilled at what they do.Thank You.

The job went excellently. Early in the morning, a design specialist arrived to confirm the installation details and take additional measurements. The crew arrived a couple of hours later with everything needed to do the installation which included (a) electrical for relocating the compressors, (b) materials for building air handler platforms to improve air flow and reduce noise, and (c) specialized connections to assure all seals with the existing duct work were tight. A thermostat was moved as part of the job. In addition the compressors were relocated. Holes remained in the wall after relocation were completely repaired. Mid afternoon, the system designer returned to review the job and make ceertain that all was being done according to specifications. At the end of the job, everything was cleaned up. The home was left spotless at the end of the job.

They were suppose to come in the fall, but didn't show up. They are not real proactive. I paid $490 for a four year contract. I would tell someone to use them, but they would have to stay on top of the matter. They always find something they have to replace, and it's usually pretty expensive. I have no idea if they are being dishonest because I don't know how to check. I take their word for it. They send different people every time, and some are real professional, others are not. They show up when they say they will. I will use them until my contract is up.

I think the guy ripped me off. I think he replaced parts that didn't need replacing. He also showed up late and I had to reschedule.

I bought the unit, which came with the maintenance agreement. They come twice a year to service the unit. The prices was excellent. They were punctual. I will use them again.

They guy that came out wasn't trained us well. He said we had a CO leak. I had our warranty company send someone to check it. They said nothing was wrong and that the tech that came was wrong and his test equipment was wrong. I complained to Orangutan and they eventually said they would refund my $60 I had to pay the warranty company to tell me that their work was wrong.

They were referred to me by Home Depot. They convinced me to take out a Home Depot credit card to get a discount for their services. I found out after they replaced my capacitor that I could purchase it on Amazon for around $14 but they charged me so much for it. After they had left I figured out that they had ripped me off and saw that this was a common rip-off technique by these types of companies. They left out screws from the AC unit. The guy also took out the old part, hid it in his truck and pulled out a beat-up one and said that was mine. I called him out on this too and then he told me he couldn't find my original one because it was mixed up with the other ones. I would use them again except that I have a maintenance contract with them still.

We were having our Air Conditioning unit Serviced for the season. The unit was and is working fine. The service man (Jason) was a high pressured salesman. He attempted to get my 87 year old mother to buy a new Heating and Air conditioning unit for $7500. If we purchased today it would be $5900, but we had to purchase today to get this price. He attempted to tell us that the system was going to fail and we had no other choice but to replace the system. Yet by his own admission the system was working fine. When I told him we were going to have to get a second opinion before making a decision, Jason (the service man) became belligerent and said the price he was quoting of $5900 was good only for the day and we had to make a decision today (Saturday). Very high pressure and disrespectful. I finally ask Jason (the serviceman) to leave because he was becoming verbally abusive. The whole experience upset my mother (and me). I have contacted the company with my concerns about the entire matter. In the future I will be very careful about who gets in my 87 year mothers home. Until now we had not had a problem with this company they had performed the Air Conditioning and Heating maintenance in the past without incident. No more services from this company, we will get a new vendor. Orangutan will not be allowed in our home again. Too risky for my mom!!!! At 87 you should just not have to go through this.

They were easy to deal with and they were good.

Technicians that have performed ongoing maintenance have been punctual and professional. However, technician indicated they are paid based on additional charges to free inspections. Every visit technician has indicated a particular part was malfunctioning. They have replaced the part at a discount each time. During the third and most recent visit, I was told the same part was broken once again. I opted not to have it replaced. I was also told my older system should be replaced. A proposal was provided on the spot for a new system and was offered a discount "if I signed now." I contacted another provider who indicated the part was NOT malfunctioning and the system does not need replacement. Since I am locked into a service maintenance contract, which I wish I had never done, I will continue routine inspection and maintenance but will not have this provider do any additional work. If they suggest parts or labor, I will contact the provider who checked Orangutan's work and was fair and honest and recommended by a friend who has used had a relationship with them for several years. I suggest NOT entering any ongoing contracts with this provider. Technicians have every incentive to propose parts and labor so they can be paid for visits. I also suggest asking any providers how employees are paid before entering into agreements.

We are reluctant to be acusatory, but the whole thing appears to be a scam. We not contacted ROC or Home Depot as yet. We will await to see how the next service or maintenance call goes. We have paid for 5 more maintenance calls in advance.

My quote from Orangatan was through Home Depot. It was the third and final quote that I had received. The sales representative was professional but very high pressure. Every time I waivered, he would lower the price. Although I normally do not like high pressure sales personnel, my final price was very good. I was also told that a revised bill of sale would be given to me during installation. When the installers did not have a revised copy of the bill of sale, a follow-up call to the salesman assurred me a copy would be sent to me. A second follow up call to customer service resulted in another promise but no delivery. On a third follow-up call to the customer assistance manager, I could tell my call was an annoyance. I agreed to have a document scanned and e-mailed to me. Although disappointed with with what was faxed, I was tired of pursuing this issue. The installers arrived on time. The first team of two men to arrive removed the old furnaces and A/C units. During the removal of the furnace from an outside utility closet, the installer discarded the furnace down an embankment, creating a significant amount of disruption to the gravel on the embankment when they had to retrieve the furnace later. There was a half hearted attempt to rake the gravel later with a pipe bender. A short time later, the second team of two men arrived to complete the installation of the new units. The installation of the two units couldn't have been more different. The original team of two men move to complete the installation of the unit located in the garage. During the installation, I had to remind the installer (same guy who threw the furnace down the embankment) to increase the whole size of the intake air when he shifted the furnace over two inches. Also this same guy, set a plenhum with silicone sealant on my garage floor, when it didn't fit properly, leaving a permanent spot.

We experienced a few problems along the way, but everything was resolved in the end.

I have a service contract with them. There are people who work for them that I don’t like and I told them not to send them to me again because they are very pushy about renewing contracts and so on. One of them wanted me to renew the service contract when it still had 2 years to go on it. Everything worked when they were finished. They are very responsive. I would use them again because I have a contract with them.

Rob Lux came out at the time frame that was promised. He was friendly and professional, and proceeded with work without haste. He did a good job, yet he did leave a slight mess and the new control unit is un-level, but overall, I was highly pleased. I would use Orangutan again.

They did the job and it works fine. I don’t have any complaints. They were a little high on the price. They were not very prompt on what time they were going to come. They are a little relaxed. They gave me a time and they were not here at that time. They do get there, but not when they say they are going to get there. They responded when I called them and asked about something. They were professional and I had no problems with that. I would use them again in the future if need be.
