Description of Work: After several hours they found the clean out cap. They contacted a cleanup service the created a larger problem and not a company that my insurer uses. One has to be careful when this happens due to the appearance of a plumbing company receiving referral money when they call their cleanup friends. I will certainly not recommend Canyon State to anyone.

Description of Work: Caveat emptor - Buyer beware. After 3 trips to diagnose my A/C system, and after getting stalled to order the part in 100 degree plus temps for 2 weeks my families problems was solved, or so I thought. A fuse blew 2 days after the new part was installed, and I was charged $200 more to come out and change a 25 cent fuse.The fuse changing tech strongly suggests I need a new system, after I just spent $700 fixing this one this year and $1,100 plus for last summer, so no, I would not recommend this company.

Description of Work: They did a checkup of the 15-year-old air conditioning / heat pump / electric backup heater unit on the roof of my unit. ($70 pre-agreed-to price). The technician found that the unit was drawing a bit more energy than it should, that bearings on both motors were starting to show wear, and that one of the two motor capacitors was failing. He replaced the capacitor ($152). He suggested the unit be replaced when any future repair is estimated to cost over $1000. Very honest about things. Very friendly. Very neat. Very complete checkup and cleaning.

 + -1 moreAll personnel who made appointments arrived punctually. Canyon State was very responsive as to our needs. Costs were exactly as estimated. On the day the work began they arrived early and were ready to go. The tear out and re-installation went well except for the time estimate that was given for total job time. Because of the difficult access to replace the system (In the attic) and the very excessive heat, the installers had to take many breaks or suffer heat exhaustion. Their estimate as to total time to install was way off--originally estimated 8-9 hours when in fact it took close to 14 hours. However, they hung in there until the job was complete. A more realistic time estimate would have been helpful. After the installation, during subsequent system operation, it was discovered that the new factory unit had an unforeseen factory defect which Canyon State took care of immediately. The factory could not deliver the parts for a few days, so Canyon State took parts from another new unit to immediately fix the problem. All in All they were very responsive, very polite, responded to problems immediately, and took customer consideration as top priority. They have also been excellent as to following up after installation as to customer satisfaction, scheduling a 2 week -how goes it-- inspection. I would definitely use Canyon State Heating and Air conditioning again.
Description of Work: Old House heat Pump failed. Canyon State came in and gave us an estimate as to costs, time and alternatives to replace the old system. We elected to go with a complete and above average replacement.

 + -1 moreThis started out to be a nightmare but when it was all said and done, he did a pretty good job of fixing the air conditioning unit. He wasn't very prompt in coming out which we didn't like that at all but I guess his work made up for it.
Description of Work: We got him to come out and fix our 10,000 dollar, 1 year old air conditioning unit that quit working. It is still under warranty.

 + -1 moreMike Gibson came to the house to check out the problem and give me cost to fix. He arrived as scheduled and checked the AC size and square footage of the area to be cooled. He quickly determined that the existing duct work had not been properly installed and gave me a price to fix it. Workmen arrived on schedule and completed the job in about 1 hour. We are very happy with the people that we dealt with. Room is now cool.
Description of Work: Utility room was not getting enough air to cool properly. They ran a dedicated duct from AC to that room and removed air duct that had been improperly connected. They called the day before coming to verify appointment and all people that we dealt with were very courteous and professional. They know their business.

 + -1 moreThe repair man arrived on schedule. He was a very nice person. He made the repairs and tested the unit to make sure it was putting out cool air. I don't find fault with 'him' that the first motor didn't work out, though of course I suffered some major dread that I would need an entirely new unit. I contacted the company and made arrangements to get on the schedule to have a new unit installed in case his return visit found the compressor ruined. (They have to machine certain metal parts for each specific AC unit, and have to schedule the crane for a second-storey installation.)I asked if the company would give me credit for the motor I'd had installed that hadn't worked, and they said they would. BUT the second motor worked, and all is well. I tried this company because I had driven past their store in Sun City West. It looked very nice and tidy. I also figured if they could do work for lots of exacting retired people, they must be pretty patient and must do accurate
Description of Work: The repair man indicated that the motor had gone out. He installed a motor that he had in his van that was of the right specifications. He tested it before leaving, and the AC unit was putting out cool air. However, later that evening, my AC unit started putting out warm air again, so I called the next morning to be put on their schedule for a return visit. He returned that day and discovered that the new motor had burned out. He went and bought a heavy duty motor, installed that, and my AC has been putting out wonderfully cool air ever since. I was afraid the compressor had been damaged, because he said the compressor had gotten really hot. If it had been ruined, I would have needed a new AC altogether, at approx. $5,450 for a 5-ton unit installed. I was fully expecting that I would need an entirely new unit; so you can imagine how ecstatic I was that the $535 repair - with the second motor - worked like a charm.
