Bob is the kind of electrician you want working on your place. He does things the right way the first time and does not take shorcuts. He was on-time, tackled a few surprises during the work and overall did a great job.

Bob was friendly and professional. He was able to fix the problem for us quickly and effectively. If I need an electrician again, Bob is the first person that I will call.

Bob Stellwagen was the first person I called. Bob had done some work for us before (we found him through Angie's List) and we were really pleased with every aspect of the job. Even so, we wanted to make sure we got quotes from a couple other contractors as well. Bob's price was the most reasonable, and ,because we had worked with him before, we knew that he wouldn't cut corners to improve his margins. Bob really understood the urgency that surrounded my building project. He took the time to understand exactly what my needs were, discussed alternatives, and allowed us to decide exactly how we wanted to proceed. He explained exactly what he would want to do if we gave him the work, so there were no surprises. In addition, Bob was respectful, professional, but very personable and patient. He was never in a hurry to get somewhere else, and really listened to everything we had to say. In the end, we selected Bob for all the above reasons, not just for his price. Understanding the urgency of our situation, Bob worked us into his very busy schedule, but did so in a way that made sure he had plenty of time to do the installation the right way. Bob was even kind to our two VERY friendly dogs, who ran off with a pair of gloves and a box (yes, a WHOLE box) of metal pipe connectors. Everything went very, very well....until the final check to make sure the heater worked properly. The electric worked perfectly (Bob did everything exactly right), but the heater I had purchased online seemed to have been damaged in shipping or perhaps returned by another customer. Even though Bob had inspected the heater closely before he started the project, the damage was nothing that he could have actually detected without electricity. Point is, the thing was messed up, and I had just paid good money for the installation of a dysfunctional heater. Again, Bob proved that he understood how important / urgent this installation was - while he was prohibited from actually repairing the heater (I believe it was due to liability concerns), he took quite a bit of extra time to look it over with me to determine if there was anything I could do instead of uninstall it, return it, order another and have him back to re-install. Turns out the fan was just slightly bent, and I was able to make minor adjustments to get it working. Sure enough, the fan is running really well, and our garage is now really toasty even in the dead of winter. I just want to thank Bob for this excellent experience. I find it surprising that there are still wise old masters out there like Bob doing exceptional work at a reasonable price. There is no other electrician I would ever use other than Bob - now or in the future. We HIGHLY recommend him for any electrical issue you may have.

We are in the process of listing our house for sale and had a few electrical issues we just hadn't wanted to deal with lingering around to be done. I called Bob this morning, he was here within the hour and within the next hour or so was done. He had what he needed on his truck, made sure I had everything on my list checked off and was out the door. It was almost magical. I had called two other electricians last week and to date neither of them have responded to my inquiry. He was very professional, kind and reasonably priced. I would absolutely use him again.

Bob was great. He showed up on time everyday and got right to work! Bob worked around our budget. Great guy all around. Professional, knowledgeable and honest. We will be calling him back to finish the job.

He did a good job installing the wireless switches. I was not home when he did the install (I wish I was) but he left two holes in the wall which I am patching up. The first one is where he junctioned into the wall to run the wiring to the new outlet. Not sure why he had to leave a hole in the wall for this outlet when he did the exact some thing in another part of the kitchen and there is not a hole in that wall. The second hole is where I am disappointed. He put a hole in the wall to install the wireless switches but ran into conduit so extended the hole to the right so that he could install a box to hold the switches. The first problem is that these switches are oversized so he left them uninstalled when he found out that they would not fit in the box he installed. Secondly these switches sit above some other switches but because he extended the hole when he encountered the conduit it caused the new install to be off center from the other switches below it. He is a nice guy but he should have told me that the switches would not fit in the box and that it was off center. All he told me is that there was two holes in the wall. I paid him to install the switches and this part should have been reimbursed to me since it did not happen. I had to go out and buy $25 worth of items to patch up the holes which does not include my time to patch it up and paint it.

Great. I had to get this work done in a pinch to sell my house and Bob came through coming out quickly and getting the work done right away. Very happy with the results.

Bob was great. Called Bob cause I wasn't comfortable opening the meter panel myself. He was able to come out within an hour and spent about 45 min at our house. Opened the meter box and found the likely source of the leak and sealed it up. Bob was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered a bunch of other questions I had about the wiring and such in our house. Highly recommend.

An appointment was set and Bob was right on time, as was his subcontractor that underground bore the new electrical though my yard not to disturb brick pavers and landscaping. The guy that did the trenching was just as professional as Bob; courteous and knew his trade. There was no lallygagging it was right to work, no stopping to text on phones, no breaks (they hand dug the start and end trench access points!) and only communicating what was necessary to get the job done. While the guys were boring the new line outside Bob was working on moving some electrical that was not ideal from the original builder. Bob completed the inside work about the time the line was bored from the house to the lift station. He then terminated the outlet at the pump and the circuit box in the basement. Total job: Inside the basement a new outlet was segregated off a previously shared circuit, a new lift pump dedicated circuit was set up and piped correctly through the foundation, new UF cable was run through the installed pvc pipe for future landscaper protection to the lift station, and a new stub and NEMA outlet box were installed at the pump access point.

I called Bob to remove 2 landscape lights and check 3 exterior GFCIs. He returned my call and was able to come out the same day. He was prompt, proficient and professional. Excellent service at a reasonable price. Will use for future needs when they arise.

We noticed that the lights on one circuit of our home were flickering and progressively got worse. On Saturday we pulled the cover off of the circuit breaker panel and found that at some point, one of the main breaker legs had actually caught fire and burned back about 2 1/2", and this never flipped the breaker to alert us. Scary scary scary!!!! I called Bob and he was to our home within a few hours. Unfortunately, he told us that the breaker leg was toast and we needed to at least replace that if not the entire panel (the old one was original to the house, approx 1977). Since it was such a large job the earliest he could do it was Tuesday (3 days later) but disconnected that leg so that our home was safe until then. This left us without dishwasher, washer/dryer, a/c, oven/stove, and lights to half of the house but it was a small price to pay to keep the house from burning down. We noticed more flickering on Sunday night and turned off even more breakers on our own. I could hear a "sparking" in the panel and called Bob in a panic on Monday morning. He is such a great guy. He rearranged his schedule and made sure to come out ASAP on Monday to get this taken care of once and for all. It took him most of the day but he tore out the old panel and replaced it with a new panel that was twice as large. He replaced the aluminum wires that connected the meter to the breaker with copper per my request and worked with us to figure out what wires went to which breaker and labeled everything. He also followed up with us the next day to make sure that everything was working well for us. I will absolutely use Bob again. He is a patient, trustworthy, great guy and I feel like I hired a family friend when I found him.

Bob didn't do this particular job, but was very polite and called to assist. He gave me some good information and I wouldn't hesitate to use Bob for other service in the future.

We purchased a Angie's List voucher for his services. He called promptly and said, although he would honor the voucher, we were way out of his service area (and he was trying to get it straightened out with AList). I offered to let him off the hook but he nonetheless said he'd do it. He came promptly and fixed it 1-2-3! Friendly. Professional. The only reason I'd not use him again is that we are more than an hour from his business.

Bob did an excellent job for a fair price. We will definitely use him in the future. He was very professional and fast. Highly recommend!

This is the first time I used Bob and let me tell you, I will definitely be using him as my go to electrician in the future. I was having insulation done in my attic and the insulation team noticed an electrical outlet that was sparking when they hit it. Obviously a fire hazard. I wasn't comfortable leaving it unfixed since I couldn't keep an eye on it and a couple other electricians I called were weeks out (despite this job being an hour max). I called Bob and though he was booked up and even on a job that day, he came by on his way home and fixed it for us. He was in and out in less than 20 min. While the job wasn't overly complicated, Bob taking the time to come by our house THE SAME DAY really set him apart. Again, I will be using him for my electrical issues in the future.

Bob is really a h*** of a nice and honest guy. Was very upfront about work done, scheduling and efficient. No surprises. Him and his two guys came in and worked very hard all day and were done in 7 hours. It was a big job thus the price. He made sure the work was done and walked me through everything. Very Happy. Would use again.

Bob responded to my email on Angie's list within 24 hours with a phone call, and came over to look at everything I wanted done the next day. He gave me as good of an estimate as he could, not know what the attic project might turn in to, but that was more than reasonable. He also did not hesitate to tell me work that didn't need to be done, which is always a pleasant surprise from a contractor. I was happy with every aspect of Bob's work. He was very easy to work with, and very reasonably priced. I definitely recommend him.

Bob was quick to respond and worked efficiently and professionally to change out an existing light with a motion light and and changed out a three way switch with a timer switch. Will use again in the future.

Everything went very well. The work was done quickly and neatly. I will call on Bob's Electric for future projects and will recommend Bob and his son to others.
