Our home was built in 1970; we purchased it in 2006. The work authorization, scheduled for spring of 2015, focused upon a complete renovation of one of our bathrooms. The demolition process involved the removal of the tub and tub surround, ceiling in tub area, the toilet, vanity, medicine cabinet, light fixture, and the tile floor in the bathroom. Additionally, there was a one foot section at the head of the tub, the ceiling of the tub and the base of the tub (bordering hall) that was removed. It was discovered that the wall at the base of the tub was wider that normal allowing for an 18 inch intrusion of the hall closet at the rear of the tub (bordering the Hall). This was removed and the AC/Heating duct-work was re-routed to enter the ceiling area of the bathroom. This increased the shower area size by more than two feet in length and one foot in height. | |The work called for a shower to replace the tub, a Led Can Light in the ceiling of the shower, plumbing moved into the new wall area as well as adjusted to accommodate the new vanity, electrical for the shower light, and to provide for the new vanity light. The shower floor was jack-hammered to allow for a new tile floor that would be level with the new tiled bathroom floor. The shower floor was also pre-sloped to insure the water stayed within the shower area. The shower door, custom made, was a frameless clear glass structure; the larger panel, stationary; the smaller panel opens in both directions. The vanity and the medicine cabinet were also custom ordered and the medicine cabinet was to be inserted within the wall. The toilet is a water saver style with extended height. All the fixtures are brushed nickel. What was left over in the hall closet area was fixed up into a small pantry unit. | |We requested estimates from four contractors; three showed up. Mr. Fix It, owned by Bill Goethe, was not the least expensive. After working through the estimate process with the three contractors, we were very impressed with Billy's overall construction knowledge and recommendations. Also, it should be noted that the manner in which he dealt with us made us feel very comfortable; no pressure; just suggestions and guidance. | |We sincerely believe we received Great Value for the price we paid. In addition to the owner, Billy Goethe, and Alfred, who did estimating, we developed a tremendous respect for his Technical Team Greg, Kevin, Larry, Tom, Frank, Gerry, Mark, Aron and Bob. They were always on time, worked consistently and cleaned up after themselves; they were very friendly, courteous, and respectful. We THANK Them ALL for their "Professionalism" and the "Excellent Work Product" they delivered. | |We also appreciate the office staff starting with Sandra, who also has responsibility for scheduling and interfacing with customers, Ashley and Nicole who, based upon our limited observations, were utilized in many important support roles. | |Ann and I Highly Recommend "Mr. Fix It" and his entire "Team of Professionals"; we are already beginning to line them up for our next project. | | |Ann and Bob Diaz, Home Owners |
