Think of Mr. Fix-It personnel as jacks of all trades and possible masters of some. Recommend you check on/ask about the background of the person set to estimate your job and on the experience of the personnel that will be sent to do your job. You also need to be there when they start a job to ensure the personnel know what needs to be done, and at least when they supposedly complete it to ensure the job was properly completed. I had multiple jobs done and I discovered the estimator for all of the jobs was a painter. He provided knowledgeable answers to my paint related job but could not do that for the other types of jobs (e.g., stuccoing over wood, new flat roof covering, facia replacement). The estimates were not as detailed as they should have been, and I wonder how the estimator came up with the cost for the job. When the personnel doing the job arrived, I had to explain what to do due to the lack of detail – the estimator was not there, so no oversight continuity. In one case, a stuccoing job, the person sent to do the job said it could not be done the way I wanted, so we had to negotiate what he would do. There was no mention of adjusting the amount I paid at any time even though the actual work done was easier. As for the personnel sent to do the various jobs, I discovered most of them had no or limited experience doing the type of job they were sent to complete – in fairness, the painting related personnel were professional. In the case of my flat roof, part of it had to be subsequently redone properly by a qualified roofing contractor once I discovered water had seeped under the new roofing material applied. I learned the Mr. Fix-it personnel that did the roofing job had worked elsewhere for a year or two with no or little formal training. Would you want personnel that did not know what they were doing try to fix a job they did wrong? I asked for a partial reimbursement for the roofing job and the Mr. Fix-It owner did not agree to this compromise. Other examples of personnel issues showing a lack of experience and/or training involve improperly hanging ornamental shutters and not properly completing and cleaning up after a facia replacement job. In both cases I had to point out the issues, as no one in Mr. Fit-It management checked their personnel’s work. Someone did come out and address the issues I raised, but why should this have been done in the first case? Again, I recommend you think of Mr. Fix-It personnel as jacks of all trades and possible masters of some, then take all the precautions I suggested.
Description of Work: Multiple jobs involving flat roof coating ($3292), facia replacement ($850), cedar fence voating ($1800), stucco covering wood ($800), driveway sign hanging ($400), and ornimental shutter hanging ($700).

I paid 80 percent down for a new roof in October with an explanation that they wouldn’t get to it until January. We are now a few days from it being April and still no sign of them. Two weeks ago they told me they should be there within a couple weeks. Today they told me it would be at least 4 more weeks. I have asked for my money back. Don’t know if I will ever see it.

Mr. [Member Name Removed] – We are sorry that we were unable to meet your needs. Please know that even in the best of roofing scenarios there are delays. We are unable to accurately predict wind, rain, supply delays or the true condition of a roof until we tear it down to do a re-roof. Many times, once we get below the shingles or tiles there is much more significant damage that cannot be seen until a roof is torn down. This is just the nature of roofing. Once a roof is torn down to repair or replace, there is no stopping to get to the next customer. We must finish that roof to not only meet our standards, which are high but building code standards as well. We try our best to communicate delays in projects to our customers and our office staff was in communication with you about these delays. Our staff had no idea you were dissatisfied with our service until the day you requested a refund. As far as getting your money back, once you asked our office staff for a refund, without hesitation it was stated to you would have your refund check processed and we would call you once our account team had that check ready for you to pick up which typically takes a few days to process. When you put down your deposit, we did explain there was a queue for roofing. We are now getting this queue caught up, you were our next roofing project to be started.

Wonderful! When was the last time you enjoyed a remodel? When was the last time you enjoyed having total strangers in your home? My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed having every employee come to work each morning with a smile on their face and a skip in their step. Each employee was professional, knew exactly what was expected of them, and treated us very well! They worked as a team and kept the mess to an absolute minimum. We would recommend them to anyone and already have.

I just wanted to pass on my experience using Mr. Fix It last week when I was having electrical problems in my home. However prior to contacting Mr. Fix, I had several different electrician come to my home and provide estimates. One company was reasonably priced but said the prices could vary depending on what they found. I asked them to explain what vary meant and the price jumped by double! The other company contacted I just did not have that comfortable feeling letting them do work in my home. The information the technician provided me on how he would repair the problem did not sound like the best solution. Well Mr. Fix it sent Aaron, an electrician who has worked for the company since December. Aaron was friendly, courtesy, and extremely professional. Aaron listened to the issues I was having at my home, he then made several trips into the attic and developed a plan to resolve the problem. Aaron was able to rewire my bathrooms without having to cut new outlets or damaging the drywall. He made a challenging task seem simple. The work was estimated to take 6 hours and he completed in 4 ½ hours without even taking a break! After all those trips to the attic Aaron was covered in insulation, sweaty and never once complained. Aaron was organized and cleaned up each area after he completed the work. In addition, Aaron added an outside electrical outlet and checked my kitchen and Arizona room for the same electrical problems that were found in the bathroom. He did find some issues and is developing a plan of attack to correct those in the future. Lastly, it was refreshing finding someone I can trust to work on my home and actually work the entire time he was slotted to be there. Thank you Aaron for putting up with all my questions as well.

I got 4 estimates. Three estimates came in between $4,500-$5,500. Mr. Fix-It's estimate was almost $10,000 (I do not remember the exact amount, it was over $9,000). They also made me feel like my house was going to completely collapse in the next few days if I did not fire them right away to complete the work.

Mr Fixit worked on this job for us for about 1.5 months (weather postponed completion for several weeks) & they stand by their work. Cost estimate was right on the money and they continued to work with us when we were not satisfied with the way our blinds fit in the windows after rebuilding the frames; they came back & re-did everything at no further charge to make it right. We are very satisfied with Mr Fixit professionalism, quality, & customer care!

I didn't have a soft water loop so it was necessary to run water lines from the main to where the softener would be located. Drywall wall was cut to run the waterlines in the walls. After the drywall was repaired, it is as if they never cut the walls. Everything turned out great. I am pleased with with the work. The plumber and Drywall-er both were punctual, knowledgeable, and professional. Cost was reasonable.

The appraiser was thorough in checking out everything we told him that we wanted done in the kitchen. The appraisal was presented to us promptly, and the price was less than what we were expecting. The scheduler worked well with us, because we had to delay once due to health problems. The workmen showed up on time, started to work immediately, and never slacked off. They were well-organized and meticulous. The job was very well done and needless to say, we are very happy with it.

Hiring installers, licensed or unlicensed, for anything in the Sierra Vista area is a real crap shoot. While some are good most are not even average. You know that feeling when you have been screwed and that you could have done it better yourself. Well these sliders weighed about $120 pounds each and there was no way at 73 I was going to do this myself. After searching for a trustworthy contractor on Angies List I reluctantly picked Mr, Fix It based on other customer reviews to do the install for us. Well we were pleasantly surprised. Their two installers showed up on time and went right to work in removing the 2 french doors, trimming out the frame openings to the new required size and installing the new doors and new door trim. The two workers worked well together as a team and finished 99% of the installation in one day even though the job bidder said it would take 2 days. The installers were very professional and knew what they were doing. When they were done they even cleaned all of the glass and vinyl frames of each slider. They even installed the sliding screen doors even though that was not part of the original bid. They were perfectionists in making sure that everything was square and level and that everything worked as designed. My wife and I were impressed with their workmanship. and work ethics. Their trim work was outstanding and looked professional. They even prime painted all of the trim on all sides before installing it. Who does that these days? Once they were done they cleaned up their work area and hauled away the old doors and trim. One of the workers returned the next morning to install a missing trim board on the outside of the door. Overall we were very impressed by and very happy with Mr. Fix It's team. I have absolutely no reservation in hiring them to do other jobs on my lengthy to do list or in recommending them to other home owners who want a job to be done right and on time.

This project was done over several days, seeing how we were at the tail end of monsoon season. This project started with electrician Jerry coming to the house to run the electric from our main panel about 50' along the house to where the "spa" panel would be located. Jerry was very meticulous, has many years of experience as an electrician, and we knew we wouldn't have any problems. On the first day of the excavation of the yard for the concrete, and after explaining to foreman Mark where we wanted the slab placed, he suggested making the slab just a little bit longer as originally planned. The original plan was to tie this slab to a small patio off of the master bedroom. As we have another patio on the other end of the house, off of our family room, Mark's suggestion was to extend the slab another 2 feet, which would enable them to tie into that patio also. As Mark explained to me, "When I see a project, I like to imagine how I would do it if I were the homeowner". That being said, it was only a couple of hundred dollars more, and looking back, well worth it. The crew did an excellent job of the excavation, along with running a trench for the electric from the house to where the electric would come up through the slab for the spa. The day of the concrete pour went just as smooth, and watching Mr. Fix It's crew go from the cement truck in the front of the house to the backyard with wheelbarrows filled with concrete, and what is involved then with the finished project was like watching poetry in motion. This project started in the beginning of September, as our spa was being built, and was "finished" on October 17, the day the spa arrived, and electrician Jerry finished running the wiring from the house to the spa. Bottom line, we highly recommend Mr. Fix It!

The company was very responsive and prompt with our request for service. The plumber was at our house within 24 hours of being called. He arrived early and got right to work. He was finished quickly and solved the problem for us. We had a shower that had both hot water and no leaking. Their price was much lower than I expected it to be. The plumber cleaned up after himself which was wonderful. I would hire them again without hesitation. Their office staff is also wonderful. They called after the plumber had left to make sure we were satisfied. All around wonderful experience.

Today was the install day. Mr. Fix It's crew, Mark and Trini were on time, took the time to inform me exactly what they were going to do to install our new window. They took out the existing glass blocks, made sure there were no problems with the rough opening, prepared the opening for the new window, and long story short, we now have a beautiful double hung window that we are able to open in our bathroom. Mark and Trini were meticulous in making sure that no debris was left either inside, or outside of the house. We wholeheartedly recommend a call to Mr. Fix It for any remodeling you may need.
Description of Work: Our master bedroom doesn't have a window. There are patio doors going out to the backyard, but who wants to leave a door open at night? So there is no ventilation on this side of our house. The adjoining master bath had a 40" x 40" glass block window, and the bathroom would heat up because once again....not able to open. We contracted with Mr. Fix to install a double hung window in place of the glass block window.

Lousy. The wall was regrouted with some grout removed (about 5 square feet). He was done in an hour. I looked later and nothing was done to the floor (less than 20 square feet). I called them back and the same guy regrouted without removing anything. He was gone in an hour. As I was on travel and it was usually used at night. I didn't notice more gaps between the floor tiles. After the job wasn't completed properly, They billed me sales tax for the labor. As a sidebar, when they came out for an estimate, I had them give me an estimate on repair and recoating the flat roof on my house. His estimate was higher than the other two estimated combined!

(member name removed) had us out to repair grout in a shower, we missed a couple of spots, after contacting us we sent the same professional out to follow up on the repairs and found areas that we missed and repaired them. after a some time we see that he had gave us a bad review on Angies List, we called him as soon as we saw this bad report(we were not aware that he was unhappy. We ask (member name removed) if we could come out look at it and he agreed to have the owner out to look at it. The owner of Mr. Fix It of Sierra Vista went out and inspected the shower and found that there were a few spots that needed some attention. Mr. Fix It sent a different technician out to touch a these few spots. And (removed member name) agreed that we have made him happy and we took care of his complaint. We correct the problem about 3 months ago and (removed member name) told us he was going to correct his complaint and at this time it is still here. We have tried to contact him but seems to be out of town. And we are still like always concerned about all our customers. We pride ourselves on taking care of all problems or corrections to any project no matter how big or small. We will continue to reach out to (member name removed) and make sure he his happy. I like Billy a lot. Billy is the owner of Mr. Fix It of Sierra Vista, everybody calls him by his name. He not only does great work, he's very on top of his crew, my house was clean everyday before they left. They were efficient and very trustworthy. I found he was a little bit on the expensive side but I'm looking at my house right now and he did a great job. I will absolutely use them again.
Description of Work: We were on phase one of our remodel so they took out half a carpet and replaced it with tile. They tore down a wall and finished it off; they did all the drywall and all that stuff. They painted and did quite a bit of electrical work; we had some new lighting put in and had to fix the old wiring, was strange to say the least. They did the lighting for us and corrected many of the fault for the house. They replaced two windows, put in the third. They did all my painting. They took down the ugly popcorn ceiling.
