 + -1 moreGreat company to work with. Saved me a bunch of money on the repair of the leak. Other pool company told me that the problem was much bigger then it was. Moore's Pool Service fixed the leak and set me up with a Barracuda pool cleaner for the same money the other pool company quoted just to repair the leak! Would highly recommend Moore's Pool Service to anyone.....A+ in all aspects of the business.

 + -1 moreJim Moore is the kind of person you always dreamed of meeting, when you have someone service your home. It's not that you can't service your own pool, it's that you already have a job and if you are going to outsource, you want someone to do it like you would, at a fair price. Well, this is the man that does just that. Quality work, no fabrications, exaggerations, etc., just "the facts." He's generous with his time, he is great with dogs, he has a great system and after using four pool services since 1988, we will never look again.
Description of Work: Replaced pump, impeller, etc, and began regular pool service.

 + -1 moreI met with Bill and his wife Sharron at the new home at a convenient time and received a 40 minute course on the pool and it's systems along with reviewing the inspection items. This Pool School 101 course was at no charge and I found both Bill and Sharron very pleasant to work with and elected to keep having them service the pool weekly. They also drained the pool a week later and gave it a needed acid bath, along with repairing the spa light at the same time. Bill has also passed on some advice over the phone to my brother on the east coast who had questions about installing a new pool in his backyard. Bill is knowledgeable with pool systems and very reliable. I highly recommend him for anyone needing pool service.
Description of Work: After purchasing a new home I contacted Moore's Pool service who has been maintaining the pool at the home for approximately the past 10 years. I ended up leaving a message and Bill returned my call within a few days after returning from his vacation. He invited me to meet him at the new home for a review of the pool and it's systems, plus cover any of the items that were mentioned in the home inspectors report.

 + -1 moreI called Bill Moore on Monday, asking for an estimate for a pool drain, acid wash, refill, and chemical treatment. He came Monday morning, and told me that we didn't need to incur all of those expenses, even though my pool water was pea soup! He treated the pool with chemicals and brushed it, among other things. By the time I came home from work, the pool was clear, and Bill had called twice to follow up with me. He came to check on the pool on Friday morning, very early to accommodate my husband's work schedule, and took time to show us the proper care and maintenance for our spool. He was very kind and professional. We will definitely use him again, and recommend him highly.

 + -1 moreThe pump motor was not working anymore. After we first contacted Mr. Moore, he returned our call promptly and was able to come look at the problem within a day. He suggested that instead of just replacing the motor, we replace both the pump and the motor to ensure a longer-lasting system. He also noticed that the filter valve was not working properly (it didn't turn smoothly any longer and made a loud squeaky noise every time it was used) and advised that we replace it as well. The whole system was about 7-8 years old, so we found it reasonable to have its key components replaced. Mr. Moore also advised to protect it from the weather by building an enclosure around it and to guarantee a longer life cycle.
Description of Work: Mr. Moore replaced the filter valve, the pump and the motor for my pool. He did so in a very prompt and efficient manner. He left the work area cleaner than how he found it.

He returned every call when he said he would, and he kept his appointments. I was very please with the experience. As it turns out, Mr. Moore services my neighbor's pool. Small world.

 + -1 moreBill was extremely thorough and made sure that we understood the various functions sufficiently that we can ''fly'' solo in the operation of the pool equipment. We were very happy with the level of responsiveness, and Bill's sincere interest in our ability to take care of the pool requirements. We tentatively set another appointment for about 30 days to examine a non-functioning pool light and determine the remedy. Overall, we were more than satisfied working with Bill, and would not hesitate to recommend him to others.
Description of Work: We recently moved to a house built in the late '70's, and had no real clue about the operation and requirements to keep the pool in optimum working order. We contacted Bill Moore, he responded quickly, came by voluntarily to take a look at the pool situation while we were at work, and then provided us an evaluation over the phone. We then engaged him to buy and replace a needed part, and set an appointment replace the part, and to together go over the specific needs and routine maintenance of the pool. Bill arrived for our appointment on time and brought the replacement part we'd discussed on the phone. We then walked through the condition of the pool, and its equipment. Bill demonstrated the various mechanisms (auto-filler, pool vac, filter, skimmer,etc.) and we discussed their condition, anticipated life-span, and how to achieve optimum cleaning with the existing equipment. (We called this 'Our Pool - 101').

He was on time, knowledgeable, friendly and very thorough. I can't say enough good about Bill Moore and his company. He not only did a great job doing the work we agreed upon, but he took time out of his busy schedule to explain all of the pool equipment to me. Bill also explained how to go about keeping the chemicals balanced throughout the year. I am just thrilled to finally have a better understanding of my pool equipment, on top of having a very clean pool. If you need a professional to work on your pool, you can't go wrong using Moore's Pool Service. You will be happy you did!

 + -1 moreI called Mr. Moore because I had had 2 different pool service companies in the past 18 months who had done a terrible job. The pool hadn't been kept clean and the chemicals were not balanced properly, which was ruining my salt cell. I had recently replaced the salt system and because of both companies improper care of the pool I was coming close to having to replace the salt cell again. Mr. Moore came out to my home and quickly realized what the problem was. The pool had to be drained and the chemicals redone. My pool looks beautiful and the salt system is working perfectly, which is the first time since I bought the house 18 months ago. Mr. Moore is also doing the weekly service. I couldn't be more pleased with his service. After having some very poor service and pool care in the past, I feel very fortunate to have found Moore's Pool Service.
Description of Work: Mr. Moore got my pool and pool equipment back to good working order. He had to drain pool and put in the proper chemicals and correct how the salt cell was working. In addition, he did a DE filter change and replaced any broken parts. He is also doing the weekly service on the pool.

I finally decided to stop his services when he wanted to charge me $3.8 for 2 tablets of chlorine he allegedly left in my backyard and a $30 piece of equipment he, of course, forgot to charge me when he worked on my pool. My overall experience with Bill Moore was a nightmare. He just thinks that he is always right and people are just here to pay him whatever he asks. He is the kind of guy that does work without asking you and then send you an invoice. When finally I was tired of him and decided to stop his services, he jumped my wall to get into my backyard and took a $30 piece of equipment from my pool. I strongly recommend not to use this guy for your pool.
Description of Work: DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY! I should have known on the very first day! The very first day I met Bill Moore, he told me that the water level of my pool was too high. He decided to look at my water floater and broke it. I should have known that day. Still I decided to hire the guy, because he was polite and on time on our first appointment. 2 weeks after, my wife calls me at work completely hysterical, the pool is empty, my backyard and my neighbors backyard are flooded. Bad timing, it was a windy day, so of course, the mesquite tree of my neighbor fell to the ground. It cost me $375 to put it back and lucky me its still alive. Bill Moore had forgotten to lock the security valve and he backwashed my whole pool! I thought it couldn't get worse and that he would now pay more attention to his work. Well, I was wrong, he charged me for some work I didn't ask for ($285), he replaced my sand filter and pump for $1900 (value of filter + pump = $1000 max). End of story in comment section.

I really appreciated his advice and for telling me that it was something very simple that I could take care of, rather than coming over and charging me for something that would have taken him a few minutes. I have already called him for another problem and will not hesitate to pay him this time, because of his honesty the first time I called.
