Moore's Pool Service

Timely, well done, and excellent insight into how to best manage the pool going forward. Will definitely use as my resource for pool care.

I called Moore's Pool Service even though I thought I was out of their service area to see if they could do a repair for me. As the other reviewers stated Bill was more than willing to let me know what I should try first before he would refer me to a pool service company closer to my location. I very much appreciate that he was willing to tell me first what I should try before having someone come out and charge me for a service visit. What Bill suggested did work and now we are waiting for a call back for a referral to a person in our area for pool service, not a repair.

Let me first begin by stating the Moore's Pool service had been servicing our pool since June, 2012. This review is mainly based on the work described above which was not a part of the weekly pool maintenance. My husband contacted them with regards to cleaning the tile and replacing some of the grout around the top part of the pool. When they came out, they did a test on the water and asked if we had ever had the pool drained. Since we had only owned the house since last June, we stated we did not know. They indicated that the pool had a high level of sedimentation and that it should be drained. Not a problem since my husband wanted the tile cleaned and the grout done at the same time. Our representative, Jeff from Moore's stated that they worked with an individual that did very good work that he would recommend to do the tile cleaning and grout replacement. It was important to do them at the time the pool was being drained as our irrigation system is somehow tied to the same water source as the pool fill and to turn it off would mean we would not be able to run our irrigation system until we could turn the water back on again. Again, Jeff stated no problem and that the gentleman coming to do the work would be here the day after the pool was drained. Everything was set up to have the pool drained the first day and their tile/grout guy to come the following day, followed by the water truck to re-fill the pool. Problem #1 - Jeff cam and set up the pump to drain the pool. Said he would be back the next day to pick up the pump and that it would turn off automatically. Well, needless to say, my husband had to baby sit the line running out to the front of the house into the drain opening since a while after Jeff left, the connection came loose and water was going all over the place. This occurred throughout the course of the day. When we questioned Jeff about it, he indicated that he had never had that problem before. So we were charged $150 to drain the pool and the only thing Jeff did was to hook up the pump, hose line and turn it on. My husband had to babysit it until the pool was drained. Problem 2 - Their recommended tile/grout guy shows up the next day. My husband walks out to talk to him and he indicates that he does not have the right color grout. Will still proceed to clean the tile. My husband informed me for the first 45 minutes, this guy is on the phone with his wife/girlfriend/significant other having an argument. Finally gets around to working on the tile. Says he will come out the next day to do the work and my husband told him that we already had the water truck company scheduled to fill the pool. Stated he would be back the following week to do the work. Never showed up and no one ever called. Problem 3 - My husband asked Jeff about the grout color issue and Jeff stated that he had never had that conversation with their "highly recommended" tile/grout guy. That was it. No followup from Jeff, the grout/tile person or Bill Moore about the remaining work. Summary, overall I think they do a decent job of servicing your pool on a weekly basis. They do not handle problems very well. Case in point, we had a problem with our auto fill. Called Moore's and they said that Jeff would take care of it when he would come out on is regularly scheduled visit. Could not wait since again, I could not afford to have the water turned off for any length of time so I went down to the local pool supply store, got a replacement and put it in myself. So again, basic pool maintenance service, ok, not good on anything above and beyond that. Poor follow-up and communication. I am in the process of switching over to a new pool service company.

After another company never showed, Bill came and saved the day for us!

I tried the technique myself, it worked and the pool motor started right up and has worked fine every since. Plus I saved a service charge.

I had hired another pool maintenance company two years ago and my pool was consistently turning green on a monthly basis. I finally got fed up and contacted Moore. Not only did I get a call back within a couple of hours but they were at my property the next day and immediately determined that my salt water pool had little to no salt and the previous pool company was using chlorine to shock the pool back into shape everytime it turned. Within an hour, I had fired the previous company and hired Moore who promised to pay special attention to my pool until it was back in shape and keep it that way so I could actually use it this summer.

Moore's Pool Service has done what they said they were going to do. They're here when they say they're going to be here. So far, we haven't had any issues. The workers are accommodating, helpful and seem to know what they're doing.

I contacted Moore's on Tuesday..Had to leave msg. Bill called me back and left me message and explained some things I could try and do to correct the problem. (pool pump was not pulling water thru, only a small amt was coming thru not enough to work the pool cleaner). If that did not work to call him back and he would come out and check it all out for me. This was the day after the big storm we had in Phoenix and all pool companies were busy taking care of customers. I had already cleaned out the pool baskets, but I was not aware of the area going into the motor where the propella was. When I checked I found that the propella was clogged up with leaves and would not even turn. I was able to get all the debri out and it began to work just fine. I called Bill back and thanked him for the info and asked that he come out to replace the backwash assembly which had broken for I was unable to backwash the pool. I could not be home the next day, so he came out in the morning fixed my problem (left the part so I could see what all was broken) and replaced the assembly. He left his bill so I could just mail him payment. I really appreciated him coming out so promptly, but especially appreciated his directions on what to do to try and fix my problem so I could run my pool pump for the entire bottom of the pool was covered with leaves and debri. I would use this company again for my pool needs.

It was great. James was very knowledgable and gave ne good recommendations on repairing/upgrading/servicing all the pool components as well as testing the water to determine proper chemicals, all for free. He arrived on time and the next day after first contacting him. I will use him again when I set up the spa.

I called March 20, 2013, and left a message. Bill called back the same day and said they did not work in my area. The map of their area showed they had indeed done jobs further out from my location - to the south and west of me. He said he would refer me to someone else closer to my area and have them call me. To date, April 4, 2013, no one has called.

Bill Moore provides great service! I called to schedule service on my backwash valve on Monday, 3/25 and he was able to come out the next day to repair my valve on my filter. He was quick and efficient and got the job done right. I talked with him about some additional work that I need done on the pool in the future amd he discussed several options with me. I will definitely make Moore's Pool Service my "go to" for all my future needs. I HIGHLY recommend them!

Contacted Moore Pools via email in the morning, received a call in the afternoon. Scheduled appointment for the next morning and James contacted me to let me know he was on his way. I was a little surprised that the technician was not an employee of Moore Pools, but James was wonderful. He answered my questions and he gave me a range of the potential cost. I decided to hire him for the monthly service and he returned in the afternoon. The problem with the pool was minor... there was no charge. It is refreshing to come across a contractor who is honest and doesn't try to scare you into a large repair.

Bill came out three times to help diagnose the lack of suction to my cleaner. He ultimately discovered the cleaner had been reassembled incorrectly. I never would have figured this out and it was well worth the $140 especially given the amount of time he spent on it.

Bill fixed several items - filter, pump motor, polaris - over past few weeks. Bill always provided options and alternatives to fix problems. I always felt he was working with me and not for me and that he was doing what he would have done if it was his pool. I highly recommend him and his company and would not hesitate to use him again in the future.

The suction on the pool vacuum and at the skimmer was lower than normal. Upon calling Moore's Pool Service, the first thing they did was suggest potential reasons for the low suction and gave detailed instructions on how I could check if these might be the problem and how they could be solved without a service visit. This was amazing because most companies just set up an appointment without trying to first determine if it is a simple problem the customer can fix themselves. Since I was out of town I decided to have them come out. The technician gave me a call prior to reaching the house and once there gave me another call explaining what he determined was the problem and how he fixed it. He explained how he changed the setting on the pump and that everything was now working. I was completely blown away when he said that the repair literally only took a few minutes and that there would be no service charge. I will definitely call Moore's Pool Service for any future repairs or service.

Called and left a message. William called back within minutes. He was extremely friendly, professional, and full of knowledge. This guy definitely knows what he is doing when it comes to pools and pool equipment. He is so swamped with business (understandably so!) that he walked through trying to help me solve my problem over the phone! He even had his electrician call me to help me out with our issue. What a great guy! I will definitely use him again in the future and would recommend him highly.

I called Mt Moore for advice on heating pool with heat pump vs propane gas. He spent a great deal of time talking about cost and efficiency of either approach. He was extremely knowledgeable and honest. When he found out he does not service my area he gave me the phone number of a company that doe service my area. He gained nothing but good will and saved me from makimg a mistake. Great Guy

They are pleasant to work with and are very reliable. They address your problems immediately.

Technician promptly came out and evaluated pool pump and motor functionality ....provided best options with pricing...replaced pump motor in a timely manner.

I had just moved into a house with a pool, and wanted to use the spa a week before Thanksgiving. Bill was quick to respond, courteous, and definitely came off as an expert in the pool business. He sent out Ben, who took time to walk me through how to use and clean the spa and pool. He showed me all of the features from the self-cleaning system, to the aerator, to how to set the waterfall to flow over into the pool. I had problems with my pool heater, and he was extremely knowledgeable about my particular model. He stopped by several times to check on it, and see if he could get it working...it turns out I was just out of gas for the heater. They weren't going to charge me, but I insisted I compensate for his time and knowledge. I have signed them on for monthly pool service, and they are doing a great job!

As discussed above they were helpful and did not charge me for their checking and review of the spa system in the house we are buying. they ran the spa, checked water, gave information about the equipment and over all system. They were friendly and no charge.

We bought our house 4 months ago and the inspector recommended some repairs on the pool system. So a couple of months ago we had another pool service company give us an estimate on repairs for our pool pump system. We were told all of the plumbing and valves needed to be replaced on the pump and filter system (approx. $300) not to mention that they never told us it was a Diatomaceous Earth filter when we kept referring to it as a sand filter. We tried on several occasions to contact this company and never received a call back so we did what we should have done in the first place and that was contact someone on Angie's List. We were so glad we called Moore's. He came out the morning I was able to talk to him and he fit me in that morning. He showed me that it was a diatomaceous Earth system, that there was nothing wrong with the plumbing and that only one of the valves was frozen. Since the house had been empty for 2 years, Mr. Moore recommended the DE be changed and the filter system itself be cleaned and inspected. He also explained how the system works and since it is an older filter unit what to look for if the system starts to fail. After removing the DE he showed me that the plastic spider type piece in the bottom had a significant crack in it and suggested it be replaced. The work , including getting the parts, was done within an hour. Mr. Moore is extremely knowledgeable and we will continue to use his company in the future.

Did a great job. I called & he was out within a day to help replace a broken piston on our backwash filter & an issue we were having with our water. Pool is running great now - very happy with the service & speed!
