I sent and email on 8-30-14 (a Saturday) as follows: "Got your info from Angie's List ... I'm pretty sure I have a leak in my system as I see evidence on a rock retaining wall ... can you come and check it out? Here is a picture of the damp wall ... when the water has been on an hour, it's actually wet. The water is coming from the plant area above." I included a picture of the damp retaining wall. The next day I remembered a leak in the front yard under a large Texas Sage. I sent another email mentioning the second leak. Monday was Labor Day ... got a call from Controlled Rain saying a technician could be out Tuesday to check out the leaks. I told them I wasn't in town but to go ahead and check out the problems and call me when they were done. Tuesday morning I got a call from Justin saying both issues were resolved (faulty emitter in front yard, and a 1/4" line separated from the main line in the backyard). Very pleased that it was done so quickly and efficiently ... looking forward to a smaller water bill next month!

They were prompt, responsive and professional. Quickly figured out the issue, discussed the options, came up with a plan to have the control system changed out. Communicated well with us. Definitely will use again.

Josh and his crew showed up on time, dug trenches, removed the old lines and installed the new drip lines. The crew then covered the lines with our dirt and granite. They were efficient and cleaned up after the job. While they were here they were polite and non intrusive. The charges were fair and as estimated. Josh was great. I would use his crew again.

The price was a little higher than I wanted, but I needed the job fast since my house is on the market. Very responsive and punctual. There were several leaks and several sections of tubing that needed to be replaced. It was done quickly so there was no padding of the billing.

I was out of town, but they showed exactly on time, did the work, billed by email. I really appreciated the fact they did not ask for money up front. They know their stuff.

I was very happy with the work he did. I haven't had sprinkler problems since I used them.

Jim showed up on time and completed the work in a timely fashion. Very courteous and hard working. It was great to have the job done quickly and at a reasonable cost. We would definitely use Controlled Rain Inc again. And we would welcome Jim back to do the work!

I have used Controlled Rain three times on my rental properties. My first use early this year went remarkably well. Fellow showed up on time and promptly competently made major repairs and adjustments to a significantly neglected and damaged irrigation system. Unfortunately, the next two experiences did not repeat that performance. First there was the minor problem of service person showing up at the billing address rather than the service address. Broken pipe and sprinkler heads were replaced or repaired. However, the adjacent sidewalk and porch paver areas were left splattered with mud. In one instance, mud even caked in the irrigation control box with telltale finger prints. More serious, in one instance, a sprinkler head was left spraying in the wrong direction. In the other, the line was NOT flushed after repairing the broken pipe. Drip heads clogged with mud. The problem was not discovered until the tenant reported that plants were dying. Costs were reasonable, although always a bit higher than the original estimate.

I used Controlled Rain a couple of years ago to replace the drip system in my yard. They did such an excellent job that I called them again in May, 2014 to add new landscape lighting in my front and rear yards. I contacted Josh of Controlled Rain and scheduled an appointment for him to come to my home and give me an estimate. He arrived promptly as agreed and spent 30-45 minutes with me evaluating the options for my lighting and providing suggestions on how I could meet my objectives within a reasonable price. A couple of days later, Josh sent me an email with a detailed estimate with some alternatives and options. I approved the estimate and schedule a time for the installation. On the scheduled day, Josh (with crew) arrived on time and once again walked me through his plan for my lights. He proceeded to do the installation, which took several hours. At the completion, Josh, once again, walked me through the entire installation and ensured that I was totally satisfied with his work. He encouraged me to contact him if I was in any way dissatisfied or wanted the lights adjusted or repositioned. One of my timers was not working properly and Josh suggested, as a cost savings, that I remove the timer and rely on the feature allowing the lights to operate automatically during the night time. After a couple of weeks, I determined that the lights were staying on for too long and once again contacted Josh for a resolution. Josh researched options on the internet and located a reasonably priced timer, which he came out to my home installed a few days later. Josh only charged me for the cost of the timer, which was $45. This type of service drives high customer satisfaction and typifies the company's enviable work ethic. There is no question in my mind that Controlled Rain, under Josh's leadership , is an exceptionally professional company operated with the highest integrity and focused on bringing the customer exactly what is promised. I highly recommend Controlled Rain and encourage anyone who needs the type of service they provide to contact them. They have an unequaled rating on Angies List and it's beyond clear that the accolades are well deserved.

Justin was great. He called 20 minutes before arriving. He arrived on time and took care of my problem very quickly. Everything was repaired and restored back as though nothing ever happened.

I was very happy with the service they gave the last time. They did a very good job. That is why I am calling them again. The control box is 14 years old it is always giving me trouble. I never replaced it so i may be replacing it. They even fixed something that they weren't supposed to. He went ahead and fixed it for me. He did not charge me anything extra. Price was very reasonable. He put in a lot of work long time an hour and a half and there were lots of parts to replace. He came when he said he was going to come. He was responsive last time. I like the way he worked.

quick to respond to initial request for a quote, and they provided me with multiple choices from a pricing, quality & warranty perspective. they showed up on time, they clarified / confirmed, what the statement of work to be completed was - as their first step, prior to starting the job. finished on time, and walked me around the house, showed me each water 'emitter', and how several of those can be adjusted, to provide more or less water, without having to reprogram the entire drip line. they showed me how each line / zone, was laid out, and confirmed the 'program run hours & days per week', making sure that my desired watering amounts & time, were programmed correctly. before departing, they insured that the work site was cleaned up. very professional & friendly folks.

Justin came by to do the quote, and then actually performed the work. I am so impressed with him that I don?t really know where to start. First of all, I like my landscaping company a lot. In the past I would have them do incremental repairs to the sprinklers, but for this job I needed the big guns. I?ve decided that going forward I?m going to send all of the sprinkler system work to Justin and Controlled Rain. In my opinion, asking the landscapers to perform these repairs is like asking your general physician to perform open heart surgery. Wouldn?t you rather have a surgeon with a specialized focus instead? Furthermore, these guys are licensed, bonded, and insured. They also back up their work with a warranty (big plus!). In my case I had rotor heads that were giving me all sorts of grief, and a few sprayers that wouldn?t retract. They came out and performed a no cost estimate. I had advised them I was coordinating with my home warranty company, who was paying for some of the repairs. They were extremely patient and kind enough to go thru the hoops of working with them so that I could get reimbursed for part of the work. Since I had 10 rotor heads, I asked about replacing them all. They provided a very fair price ? and it was advantageous to do more of them in the same call. Most importantly, they noted that the rotor heads are sometime prone to more maintenance needs. (I had a new one fail in less than 6 months). They suggested MP heads, which I had read about online. These new MP heads look much nicer and spray the area more efficiently. Everything turned out well. Justin was on time (a little early actually) and kind enough to answer my questions regarding making adjustments should they be needed in the future. I appreciate their very honest evaluation of the system, and as many people here have said, they don?t attempt to up-sell you. I have a few really old valves, Justin confirmed that they were solid and not leaking. He could have easily tried to push me to replace those, but he didn?t. He did let me know what to watch out for, so that if they do start to go I can catch it and not waste water. Given the amount of work, this would have been far more expensive had I used my landscaping company. Justin is great and offered more innovative solutions, like the MP heads, than I would have received otherwise. Also Carol, who handles the scheduling and billing, is as nice as can be. Really solid company with really good people.

Obtained 3 quotes. Ken's was the most reasonable and exactly what I was looking for, no more no less. Didn't try to sell me a new system, all I wanted was to have the existing system re run in the front yard. Due to my need to travel for work, he performed the services when I wasn't home and emailed me the bill. Was great to leave with an issue and come home to it repaired. Will definitely use again if additional work for irrigation system is needed.

He told me how to fix it so I wouldn't have to spend a couple hundred dollars to replace everything. Easy day!

it went well. Great service. We delayed doing it for a year, worried about the cost. But after seeing how bad of shape the older system was in, it, seemed worth it. They were also very accommodating in allowing us to add new plants to the system. Very personable customer service. The only concern I might have had was a lack of communication. Two plants that were previously irrigated were't set up for the new system. Still, all it took was a phone call, and an employee came back to revise it. Also, we asked for details on a lighting system, but we didn't feel comfortable with the cost without truly knowing the specs of what we'd be getting. But I imagine they do great work there, too. They were also quite willing to accept the $100 discount from Angie's List and reflect that on the bill. My $1,700 job became a $1,600 job.

The work was done very quickly and done very well. The installer was up front with me and did just as he stated he would. I was very happy with the whole event.

Called Controlled Rain to get an estimate for the work and Justin came out within a couple of days of my initial call. He looked at the work to be done and talked with me about the details of what I wanted then gave me an on-the-spot estimate that was later followed up with an email hard copy. We scheduled the work to be done within a week and Justin and crew arrived on time as promised. I was please to have the guy leading the work detail who had done the initial estimate as that reduced any possibility of miscommunication of the result I wanted. The crew was in and out in roughly four hours start-to-finish and they delivered exactly as promised. Everyone I dealt with at Controlled rain was friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive.

He was here when promised, and fixed the leak with no muss or fuss. He even fixed another leak at the same time. I apologize but have forgotten the tech's name, but he was very good and quite professional. I would certainly use this company again :-)
