Stunning relief given the extreme estimates we were getting to replace knob sets, etc.... Tom was on time and on target. When we asked about keying outside gates differently he suggested keying those cylinders such that our keys worked on all locks but vendor keys would only work on exterior gates. All keys worked perfectly. Hire again is a flash!

All went very well and fast. He knew how to take the lock apart without being able to open the door. He also did a quick fix on the main door latch as it was not catching the latch cleanly and the door would swing open

He arrived on time and completed the work in a careful and competent manner, performing more than was requested to leave me with locks that function perfectly.

Tom was very polite, extremely pleasant to deal with, treated me with respect. He knew what he was doing and the work was done quickly at a very reasonable price. I definitely recommend this service to anyone and would surely use it again if the situation arises.

After dealing with the frustration of the post office, we called Budget Lock and Key. Tom came out promptly and in no time changed the lock and accepted our coupon. Great last minute service on New Year's Eve! Very pleased and recommend!

Tom was very organized. He answered all my questions and got the job done efficiently.

The overall experience was very positive. He called ahead and show on time. We found him to be courteous and helpful to us. I observed him spraying oil on the locks and door to reduce noise and improve overall efficiency of them. He drilled a couple the holes to improve the locking area without our asking him to do so. He didn't charge us for any extras. He just did his job and charged us a very fair price . I have already recommending them to our realtor, security company and our friends because we were so pleased with his professionalism and price. We will use again for all of our locking needs. He even assisted me by looking at a problem lock on my truck and tightened it for me at no extra cost.

He was a great guy. He's been out a few times. He shows up on time & calls you back when you leave a message. He's prompt, courteous, & professional. When he's all done ask him to do a magic trick - He did a great one for us!

Called Thomas early in the week based on his Angie's List reviews. We made an appointment for the following Monday, but he called me the Friday before our appointment to let me know he had an opening if it would work for me. I met him at our rental property and he was right on time. He rekeyed all the locks and made me copies of the keys in well under an hour. He presented me with an invoice on the spot for the amount we agreed to on the phone, and he accepted a business check. Before he left, he noticed that the dead-bolt on the front door was sticking a little bit when it locked, so he ground down the strike plate so it would work smoothly. That little bit of extra service went a long way with me. His number is in my phone and I'll call him for any other lock related needs.

After searching through the top 10 or so businesses shown under "Locksmiths" on Angie's List, I picked Budget Lock & Key. I guess the word "Budget" is what hooked me, but I also liked the many positive reviews this company had received. I know that just because the company name has the word "Budget" in it doesn't mean you'll get the best prices, or the best quality of work. Well let me tell you, there was nothing at all budget about the work that Tom (the owner) performed except the price! I am beyond pleased! Tom gave me a time estimate of "late afternoon, around 4" after I called him at noon. He showed up earlier (one hour) than scheduled, and I appreciated that. Tom got right to work without delay. His attitude was professional, he was extremely efficient with his time, and he seemed to have just about everything and anything in his mobile unit (truck). Not only did Tom perform the work I'd requested, he went out of his way to fix two other problems we had with other door locks, and he fixed one that was about to be a future problem. He also lubricated every door lock. I feel like I have brand new doors! No doubt, they are in better condition than when we bought the house. To top it off, Tom made me six new keys (I'd asked for five) which he made himself rather than copying (so they will all work smoothly). Here is a person who runs his business the old-fashioned way, the way people expect but (these days) seldom get: WITH THE CUSTOMER IN MIND.

Upon completing some yardwork, I discovered that my key no longer let me in the house. After determining that it was the lock and not the key, we went on Angie's list and made some calls. Budget Lock & Key was available after 6pm on a Saturday night and was ready and willing to have someone out within the hour. This was a nice surprise as others we called did not work weekends. When the technician arrived, he recognized the issue immediatly, he was also frendly, helpful, and showed plenty of patience with our overactive 4 month old puppy. The price was less than we expected for an off-hours job. This was mostly due to the of the experience of the technician who recognized and fixed the problem within 15 mins. We highly recommend Budget Lock & Key.

I moved into a new house and need the locks re-keyed. Thomas was able to schedule me quickly, arrived on time, was very professional, and cleaned up. Thomas exceeded my expectations. He was able to re-key all doors to one key which I didn't think was possible because of the security door. A few of the existing knobs were brass and I wanted nickel ones and he had them in his van so he was able to replace them right away. I would definitely recommend Budget Lock and Key.

Great - everything was installed quickly and to expectations. In particular, everything was mounted flush so no issues with tricky deadbolts anymore.

Thomas Console of Budget Lock & Key worked with me over the phone to obtain the combination for the floor safe. He suggested I call the manufacturer to obtain the combination. The manufacturer would not release the combination to me personally so Mr. Console called them and requested it on my behalf. When they released the combination, he worked with me (again over the phone) to use the difficult combination. When I offerred to pay him for all of the time he had spent, he declined. I decided to send him a payment never-the-less for all of the time he spent on hold with the manufacturer and with me. During all of the calls he was professional and never seemed bothered. I would not hesitate to highly recommend his services and use him again for any other needs. This is refreshing to find a skilled person who actually is honest and dedicated. I went to Angie's list to research locksmith's. Having just seen a segment on Dateline where locksmiths were ripping people off, I was sceptical. After reading the reviews for Budget Lock and Key, I decided to give them a try. I called this morning and set up an appt. for tomorrow. Tom called me this afternoon as he was in the area and offered to stop by. He was very professional, friendly, and courteous. He solved my problem and was in and out in about 30 minutes. After viewing the program on Dateline, I was afraid I'd get hit with a $200+ bill and was delighted with Tom's service and fee. I'd call him again in a heartbeat!

Tom was on time and on estimate for the work he did. I've called him back for more services.
