Brad is a very personable, trustworthy and meticulous individual. During his three visits he always came to our home on time. He knows how to execute and complete a task in a timely fashion. What impressed us the most is his skillful ability to paying attention to small details. He left his work area spotless clean after completing his task. We highly recommend him for his professional work, and will definitely call him for future repairs.

The guy at Hawthorne Handyman Services was fantastic. He did most of the work and he never cheated us, and went above what he was supposed to do. He showed up when he was supposed to. He's a good guy, very honest and hardworking. He did everything so well. We would recommend him in a heartbeat.

Nice enough guy but he told me he was swamped and couldnt get to my fence till late march. I said okay but needed a bid via email to decide. That was a week ago. No bid no call no nothing. I just noticed a reviewer saw him around same time span and posted review that on or around the 16th Brad had called and confirmed job!! Congratulations to the person that Brad will work with! I was polite to Brad and I dont understand why he moved on one job and not my mine?! . I joined Angies List because I was finding unprofessional,sloppy workers on Craigslist!!! A large new armoire was scratched by one CL handyman and I was left with huge furniture to move all by myself from another CL handyman. Nothing but nightmares so I thought maybe Angies list would be better. I dont expect anything less than quality work and as long as I am treated fair Im a happy camper. I really appreciate Angies list so other women can judge for themselves whom they should hire. Im hoping I can someday give a good rating to SOMEONE with all the work I need done around my home.

Even though these were small jobs we already have thought of several more different things for him to do in the near future and will call him again soon. Both times he called when he said he would and showed up when he said he would. We thought the amount he charged was well worth it and are very happy we finally thought to look on Angie's List.

I met with Brad to obtain a project estimate prior to his performing the work, and we set a date for the installation. He called several days later to confirm the day and time. On the day of installation he called to let me know when he would arrive and then called again when he determined he would be a few minutes late. The installation took about two hours and went smoothly. I was impressed by Brad's professionalism, his attention to detail, his explanation of the installation process, and the fact that he left the work area completely clean before he left. The locks work well and provide additional security as well as peace of mind.

The handiman business is his second job, but in spite of that he came out on short notice, found the problem, fixed it and explained how to avoid the problem in the future.

Brad came out to my house in the early evening after he got off his regular job. He installed a hanging ceiling light, not a fan but it was big and heavy. He did a great job, was neat and cleaned up everything. Then he installed a motion detector over the dog yard. I was very happy with his work and will call on him again. His price was reasonable.

Brad is courteous and prompt. He has a great personality and his integrity is reflected in his work.

In fairness to Brad, once he got here, he got on top of the project estimate by going over it with me and continued to ask questions later to make sure everything was covered. I already had a quote of $750 for the project and I was starting to get concerned because Brad was, to me, putting in a lot of effort for a $750 job. About 1 week later I received a $1200 quote from Brad for the job. I told Brad that he was high and I would have to go with the other bid from someone else who has done work for me. I wouldn't say "NO" to using Brad, because I've read some very good reports on Angie's List regarding Brad. However, I would get other quotes.

He was always on time when he came to take a look and give an estimate. He came by twice. His estimates were really good. Most everything he said seemed very reliable. He is a really good guy. I felt I could really trust him. He is a pretty straight shooter. His prices were better than anyone else. I didn't have him to the work because he was not available right away, however, I still might have him do it.

I saw on Angie's List that Hawthorne Handyman had a good rating. I called Brad and arranged for him to come and re-stake some trees in my backyard, which had come loose the day before in the monsoon storm. He agreed to come that same day, at 4:30 pm. At 4 pm he called to say that he would not be able to come until 6 pm as he works another job and has to work late until 6 pm. He does his handly man work as a side job. I agreed to this later time. In the same telephone call, I told Brad that my circulating pump was making an odd noise and seemed to have been damaged in the monsoon storm (earlier that day) as a result of the power outage. I asked him if he did plumbing-type work and he said that he did. I asked him if he was familiar with circulating pumps and he said that he was. Brad arrived before 6 pm but because it was raining we could not re-stake my trees at that time. Brad did, however, look at my circulating pump. It did not seem to me that he was familiar with circulating pumps. He said that the noise it was making was "normal" (it was not). He said he would "not" replace the pump (even though it was damaged). He did not offer any resolution or explanation for the odd noise. I told him that since he did not seem sure about what to do, that I would like to get a second opinion. He said, "Fair enough." Since nothing was done, there was no charge. The next day I called a plumber and my damaged pump was replaced with a new pump.

I have used them twice. He has high quality workmanship.

Brad offered to come out to check out the work needed on a Sunday at 10.m. He hadn't shown by 11 but called with an apology that he had overslept. He arrived around noon. Rather than just give an estimate, Brad offered to do the work right then, which was fine with us. Our main problem was the door latch/handle mechanism on the door to our garage; it had come loose and was spinning in place. He opened it up and found that extenders had been installed but had come loose; the bolts used were also too long and not catching properly. He cut the bolts to the right length, so they would grab properly. The door now works just fine. We had a peephole to install, but we were not confident in getting it right. Brad measured to ensure that the thing would fit the frame and was at the right height. He also adjusted a door that was sticking badly; it appeared that it would be necessary to make new holes for the hinges, but he was able to make the adjustments without drilling. He offered to come back and fix it for free, if his repair didnt' work. Brad is very friendly and communicative.

Brad showed up when our meeting was scheduled and was very detailed in what repairs needed done. I showed him what I knew needed worked on, and he found several other things I had over looked. When we started talking figures I was very pleased with the price point. Originally it was going to be about 3 weeks before he could do the job, but since I am not currently living in the home so he comes in whenever he has some time to work on it. The job isn't complete just yet, but I'm very pleased with the progress so far.

I was very happy with the quality of the work and Brad's professionalism...the estimate was accurate, he kept me informed, he was punctual and efficient. I recommend him highly and he will be doing additional work in the future.

The window caulking went extremely well. I made an initial call after getting an Angie's List referral. I got a call back within a few hours and a quote the next day. Mr. Hawthorne completed the window caulking the following afternoon. He was prompt and courteous. I was pleased with my entire encounter with him. While here, I asked Mr. Hawthorne about the lawn services offered. He gave my phone number to his son, who called and offered to come over and turn on my irrigation system and check it out. He rerouted some of the system for me, checked every outlet and programmed the timer. He also cleaned up my yard and relayed a brick border. He was efficient and professional. I would have both of these gentlemen work for me again.

They do an excellent job of communication, for we get the time and the coordinate services and stuff like that. They did a very good job. I would use them again in the future.

He performed several different jobs for my neighbors with reasonable prices.
