Went well. Showed up in appointment time frame. it was 3 different crews for the different services. Had to reschedule the stump grinding because their grinder broke.

Tree Pros provided the worse customer service I have experienced in a LONG time. What I thought would be a simple project turned into false promises, excuses, delays, and frustration. My tree was scheduled to be removed on 7/25 and the stump was supposed to be removed on 7/26. Tree Pros rescheduled the stump removal 3 times (over a period of three weeks) using a variety of excuses. On the third reschedule, they simply did not show up. In addition, half the tree was still in my yard! I finally had enough and fired them. At that point, I had to rent a trailer, haul rest of the tree (2 ½ tons of wood) to the dump on my day off and hire another company to grind the stump. Tree Pros then attempted to charge my credit card without my authorization for a slightly reduced remaining balance! This company is not reliable. Their business practices are unethical and their communication is terrible. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

I called and scheduled an estimate of the trees I was wanting trimmed. Ben called me the day before and showed up bright and early in the morning. Was right on time. I walked the property with him and showed him what I was wanting done. He took notes and said he would email me an estimate and told him that would be fine. I received the estimate the following day however there were some items on the estimate that were incorrect so I sent Ben an email requesting a revised estimate. On his estimate Ben said to either call or email if I had any questions. A week went by and I did not hear back from Ben so I sent him the same email again. A week later still no reply. I finally gave him a call and he told me he never checks his emails because the office is too far away. I thought this was a pretty popular form of communication these days! So he said he would update estimate and send me a revised estimate. A week later I still have not received revised estimate. Three weeks later I have not received an accurate estimate. I called into office to request they send someone else out to do estimate. Was just curious if they would follow thru this time. A day was scheduled but no one ever showed up or called. Moral of this story is that Tree Pros must have more work than they can keep up with and is not interested in taking care of past clients. I have hired them before and they did a good job but I will have to look for someone else for my future tree trimming needs. You might want to do the same thing and avoid all the wasted time and effort.

The crew was very responsive to requests and really knew what they were doing. The were fast, efficient and did a great job cleaning up. Their supervisor, Kyle, did a follow-up which we found to be very professional. Many companies promise a follow-up but this was the first one who actually did it. We wee very impressed with the whole process.

One of the Tree Pros arborists came by to look at our trees. He was fixated on removing a couple of the trees, said they were to far gone to be saved & that the rest of them needed some special treatment with nutrients the tree had lost. Then, he proceeded to tell me that there would be an additional charge of $300 to remove any stumps, saying that was a discounted price. The $300 per stump, times two, were not added in his quote. Then he said it'd be a $1000 to run one drip line, making his quote a whopping $2900!!! As I was looking over his estimate, in total disbelief and on the verge of tears, this guy had the audacity to say to me that if I write him a check for half now, they could be out in two days to do the trees and was unsure when the drip line could be ran. I called another landscaper, he came by and gave me a quote for $580, for the same work without cutting any of our trees down. ALL of our palm trees are doing excellent and have new growth. We haven't lost any of them! So happy I did NOT go with Tree Pros.

I asked for a visit to give me a proposal to do the work, and provide me same via email. Evidently they don't need the work or have the capacity to do the work. I never heard from them, and asked for the proposal several days after the on-site visit to look at the work to be done. Nothing. After a call to ask for the proposal and complain about not receiving the proposal ... nothing. Arrogance. I suggest go to someone who actually has the capacity and willingness to perform service as suggested they can provide. I've used them for at least a decade and this is how I was treated ... like nobody. Tree Pros - forget about them.

I've had Tree Pros come out for the last three years to do an annual pruning. Each time they did a great job. Last year the really put on the deep root fertilizing sales pitch real thick. This was a pretty big turn-off. This year, I called to schedule an estimate and "there was a mix-up with the arborist" and he failed to show up. Okay, no big deal. I called back to re-schedule and they said someone would be out the next day. A no-call no-show again. So I call back this morning. I'm apparently not in their system anymore. Please don't take my $400 that I'm trying to throw at your company for 1 hour of work. I usually forgive a company for something like this, but three strikes and you're out. Maybe I should start up a professional tree service.

Estimator showed up on time and discussed several different options and priced each out. Work was very reasonably priced as compared to several other quotes from other companies. Work crew showed up on time, did an excellent job trimming the tree and cleaning up all debris. Work crew were friendly and consulted with me prior to and during work to make sure trimming was performed to my preference. I will be using this company again in the future and recommending them to family and friends.

In a word, TERRIBLE!. We chose Tree Pros for a bid because they had done some tree removal work for us in 2006, when they were just getting started, and we were happy with their work. I used their web site to request a bid. No response. I called them to make an appointment, and told them about the web site no response. They didn't care and weren't interested in any details about their failure to respond to the web site request.. Anyway, I scheduled an appointment for Wednesday. They said they would call Tuesday night to give us the time range. Tuesday night comes and goes with no call. Wednesday morning comes, with no sign of them. I called them around 10 am to ask what was happening with our appointment. They said that their guy had a family emergency and wouldn't be coming. I asked why they hadn't called as they promised on Tuesday evening, as they promised, or Wednesday morning, when they learned that they couldn't meet the appointment. Brenda, who I had made the appointment with two days earlier, gave a verbal shrug of her shoulders, and offered a Friday appointment, again promising to call on the evening before, Thursday. Thursday evening comes and goes with no response from Tree Pros. Friday morning comes with no response. At 8 am, I call them to find out what was happening. Brenda again couldn't explain why the promise she made two days before to call wasn't kept. She said Paul would arrive between 11 and 1. 11 comes and goes. 1 comes and goes with no sign of Paul, and no communications. At 1:30, I call them again, and get a different person. She says "Paul is running a little behind", and that he should be at our home between 2 and 3. Shortly after 2, Paul shows up. He is polite. We explain that we want a tree removed and a branch trimmed. As I take him into the back yard to show him the trees, he starts a running criticism of just about everything in our yard. He barely looks at the tree work we wanted done, and instead tells us all the things "wrong" he sees in our yard. One thing in particular, he claimed that our trees were trimmed too high at 10 feet. I didn't know what to say, as the trees are actually trimmed to about 8 feet. Later on, he admitted this and apologized. He didn't like our trimming of bushes (we prefer natural shaping and he seemed to want perfect globes or maybe topiary.) By this time, my wife and I were getting tired of being criticized, and for him not listening to our desired work. But, trying to be polite, we led him around the yard so that he could make a 'survey' of our trees, as that was their process. Eventually, he wrote up his proposal. It started with $5500 to trim all our trees, a service we never asked for and repeated told him we weren't interested in. In all, he proposed more than $10,000 in work, when all we were looking for was to remove one tree and one branch. Paul, while superficially polite, seemed to have his own agenda, with no interest in what we asked for or wanted. He came across as a pushy salesman, always pushing his "certified arborist" credentials. He acted as though he knew everything and we knew nothing, even though we have personally cared for all the trees and bushes for 18 years, with good results. In short, they were terrible at responsiveness, didn't listen and pushed hard to sell us 'services' that we neither asked for nor wanted. Their price for just the tree removal was twice the other companies' bids. We recommend staying away from Tree Pros.

I will begin this by saying that I have had Tree Pros out twice before over the years with no issue. This crew was very sloppy and/or lazy. I have a narrow path from the backyard to the front. Instead of cutting the large branches off the trees in back down to a smaller size they just dragged them down the path scrapping the sides of the house, windows and even breaking a Malibu light off its stake. I had plants covered to minimize damage but they dragged the cover off too and just kept going break branches and leaves off plants they were not supposed to even touch. I found lots branches in the canopy of my tangelo they never cleaned up. For tangelo I only wanted a little off the top and cut it back 1 foot where it touched the house. They did not trim the part touching the house and took off too much in other areas. For the pine tree they did not want to knock down any of the dead needs unless the entire branch was cut off. I shamed them into knocking some of that off, it took a whole 5 minutes. We agreed to cut the dwarf oleanders in the front to 1 foot but they left them 2 1/2 feet tall and almost still touching the sidewalk which was the whole point in cutting them back. They did a lousy job of blowing out leaves under them so I started raking out the area under them myself until they must have felt ashamed and decided they should have taken another 5-10 minutes to finish the job right. I spent 1-2 hours after they left cleaning up and repairing the damage they did. The WORST landscaper crew I have had the misfortune of dealing with. I did complain to Tree Pros but all they offered was sending another crew out but at that point I already cleaned up the worst of it so too little, too late. They should have offered me $100 off the job but instead this morning they went ahead and automatically charged my credit card for the full balance. Based on this experience I will never use Tree Pros again.

That was quite awful really. I sent a letter to Angie's List, I sent the letter to Tree Pros too because they were charging me...what I bought from Angie's List was $125 worth of service for $75 and when the guy came out to do the estimate, he was here for 15 minutes, they said that was a $125. I picked up a card from their business and it was for a special which I was kind of going to go with one of their specials because they hadn't done me wrong yet, and the card was 'free tree estimate' and then under it said, the value was $75. So essentially they were telling me that my Angie's List Deal, that you guys sold me was $75 thing...anyway it was all wrong. They called the other day and apologized and gave me the $125 credit. It was a long time of people calling and then I am explaining the whole idea of Angie's List and they are like, okay, then somebody else had called with the same...it is like, don't you guys understand what...it didn't seem like they did. That was my problem. There was more cost but it was because I bought more product. I bought a whole lot of things to feed my other trees, plants and stuff. They didn't show up a couple of times, it was crazy.

When I first called for someone to come out to give me an estimate they said it would take a week to get someone to come out.I really did'nt want to wait a week for an estimate but agreed. At that time before hanging up I asked her how long of a wait would it be to get the job done if I did decide to go with their estimate and she said a week. 1 wk later he shows up and gives me an estimate and also tries to sell me a irrigation evaluation for 100.00 which I agreed to plus 150.00 to take down the tree. Said they require 50% up front, drew up a contract which I signed and said the office would be getting in touch with me to schedule. The next day,I changed my mind, called his cell number (from the card he had left with me) and told him I just decided to have the tree taken down and the irrigation system would have to wait. He was polite about it and said he would let the office know. He had come on a Thursday for the estimate and by the following Monday afternoon I had not heard from anyone. I called the office, let them know I was'nt going to wait another week just for them to schedule, and they said that their scheduler was at lunch and would call me back. He did call me back 10 min later (didn't know I was only going to have the tree removed and not the irrigation) and scheduled me for that Friday. (I feel like if I hadn't called upset,I'd still be waiting.) Called the night before with an window frame for time of arrival. Came on time the next day, asked if I could open the back gate. Told them the tree that they are taking down is right there in the front yard-they acted surprised. Took it down, grinded the stump, and I saw them with the blower, blowing some leaves up but upon further inspection, they didn't even get up half the dead leaves so I don't know if they were just blowing them around to look good or what. When finished, the guy knocked on the door and I handed him a check for $25.00 which is what I owed them. He didn't say nothing to me and just took the check. He didn't even have a balance due for the work done on a sheet of paper. I have never done business this way before and I know I won't be using them again.Very unprofessional. I wonder if the owner is reading all these reviews and wish I had before I called them. There seems to be no communication and takes forever for estimate and job done. I feel like I was one of the lucky ones after hearing other peoples reviews.

It's now two years later. They did not tell me I need to change the watering schedule. In January 2014 they came and gave me an estimate of $320 to clear and shape the tree, trim deadwood and remove all debris. They never said I needed to change the watering schedule. I had a landscaper trim the tree for a lot less, and they changed the schedule to give all trees and shrubs more water.. But since then, more branches have died. I don't want to remove the tree because it still provides a lot of shade to the house which saves on power. Because of the design of the system, I cannot verify myself that the tree is getting water. Tree Pros called recently and said they would send an arborist. A different arborist came today and told me looking at the tree he would recommend removing it. He did not know that Tree Pros had installed a $2750 watering system 2 years ago to save the tree.. He said it wasn't getting enough water and that I should have known to change the watering schedule. I told him that no one from Tree Pros ever mentioned that the watering would need adjusting. If they had told me that, I would have asked for the revised schedule(s) and the date or dates it should be adjusted. I was very unhappy that Tree Pros recommendation was to remove the tree after I paid them for a watering system to save the tree. The arborist left today without giving me any information on revising the watering schedule. (He told me to read the back of the contract. I looked at it and it refers to a website which is not Tree Pros) I am hiring an irrigation company to give me recommendations. I would not recommend Tree Pros.
Description of Work: I consulted Tree Pros about a Locust Bean tree which had dying branches. Their arborist told me to change my watering system. They said it should solve the problem with that tree and also help our backyard large pine tree and 2 citrus trees. The current system watered only at the trunk, they told me I needed water for each tree around its drip perimeter. They changed the entire system for $2750 (October 2013) and set it. I came from CT and didn't know anything about watering systems. They were my expert and I told them I was relying on them..

Unfortunately, it was a terrible experience. The gentleman told us that the tree in question was rotten and would eventually collapse, and he scared us into having the tree taken down completely. However, it was clearly evident that the tree was in good health after we looked at the trunk and stump. We are very upset by this since we planted the tree nearly 40 years ago, and it was one of the most beautiful trees in the area.

if If i sprayed the trunk with fertilizer. The workmen showed up 3 days later than scheduled and did the small limb trimming, which left the tree looking very unbalanced. Nothing else was done ( I am so very glad they didn't finish the job), but I was sent a bill for the balance ( I had paid $300...half of quoted price) and the balance was for #370.00 as they had dropped off a gallon or 2 of fertilizer spray. For 4 weeks, I kept asking the receptionists for information about finishing the job to which they answered each time "Which part of the job have they not done"? and I suppose each time pretended to write notes down since after 4 week no one had any information regarding this case. Dan "the arborist" could not be found on the phone by either myself of the receptionists. A few days ago he called and said he and the manager were coming here for a "redo" Not sure if they ever came or not so I called Trees For Needs...also recommended on your list. The arborist ( I believe he really is) named Karl said he had already come by the day before to assess the tree and side of the roof. bHe said in no way should any limb, especially the main limb in question, should be touched. He said he knew several inexpensive contractors ( licensed handymen now) who could shave down some of the wall into an L shape ( no one could ever see it) to allow the tree to slowly grow into again at which time the lower limbs would have a chance to sprout at which time thinner limbes growing out of the main limbs could be cut to take the weight off the main one. He was much more detailed than this and clearly explained that he he had enough experience with ficus trees and had seen the results when not taken care of well. He is going to have the name of the contractors call me and I am so very pleased with this tree company they deserve an A plus. In the meantime Tree Pros is trying to get their money back and if they want to go to small claims court that is fine with me. Carol
Description of Work: The contract was to assess the situation of a large (18" diameter) main limb of a ficus tree that was beginning to cut into the side of the roof and to trim small limbs so as not to have leaves falling on neighbour's property. The assessment made was to cut the massive limb off and then fertilize it. I kept asking if that wouldn't kill the tree and the so called "arborist" said no not

The salesman/aborist (Andy) met me at my house and we drove a couple of blocks to a house I was buying. There were three trees total: one on the property I was buying and two on a fence line shared by a neighbor. On the drive to the property I tried to make small talk with him and he was unfriendly. Got to the site and he quoted me $2800 for the three trees. I explained to him I wanted it broken down: the cost for my tree and the cost for the two trees on the fence line (I pay for my tree and split the cost for the other two with the neighbor). He refused to break it down. I explained again why I wanted it that way and his response was something like, "You're getting a price for something in bulk. When you go to Costco and buy things in bulk you can't separate it and pay for just what you want." We drove back to my house and he was just as unfriendly as he was before. I gave him my email address so I could have a copy for my files. Nine days later I have yet to hear from him.
