The work started on time and was completed very quickly. Unfortunately the workers were a little over zealous and took out two of my Oleander bushes. For some this maybe a big issue, for me however, I don't care for Oleanders so I say good riddance... Overall, I will be using them again to get rid of the remaining Oleanders. I had a good experience with the estimator, work crew, the schedulers, and the office staff... I recommend them without reservation...
Description of Work: Professional estimate, that thoroughly detailed all services to be performed. Had two trees and a evergreen bush removed, also two large trees trimmed and thinned, as well as 12 Oleander bushes trimmed, plus two Texas-Ebonies trimmed and shaped. A week later, they ground off all the stumps for the items removed.

The gentleman that gave our estimate was extremely courteous and prompt. He worked to get us the best discounted price. The workers arrived on Saturday to remove the palms exactly when scheduled. They were courteous and fast and willing to let me watch them at their work and ask questions. The stumps were removed on Wednesday with the same quality. All stone was replaced and it doesn't even look like there was any work done other then the missing eye sores.

Description of Work: I used Tree Pros for tree service. They did the work about a month and a two ago. I have used them twice for tree trimming; once in fall and then in spring. They have done four different trees for me. They charged me $125 per tree. They did deep root irrigation for $100.

Two men arrived a bit early on the appointed day and got right to work. They had the tree removed and the stump ground out in less than an hour and the palm tree was as high as my roof. The guys were very efficient and polite and very respectful. They did the job, cleaned up and were gone almost before my day began. I am very pleased with both the price and the work and I would definitely recommend Tree Pros and hire them again.
Description of Work: I contacted Tree Pros for an estimate on removing a palm tree that had grown up much too close to my house. They came out, and because the tree could be viewed from the front of my house they did not disturb me until they were ready to give me the estimate. It seemed a very reasonable estimate so I hired them to remove the tree.

Trees pros called the day before and told me that they would be there between 8-11 am. The First group that removed the trees showed up at 8:10. The were finished in 1 hour. They removed the tress with damaging any other plants or disturbing the flower beds. Not once was the house disturbed or touched during the entire remove period. The yard was completed clean and all the trees were removed before they left. The stump removal crew was to show up between 10-1. They showed up at 10:15 and the entire removal and clean up of all 4 stumps was completed in 1 hour. The crew used screens to protect the house while they were working. Both crews was professional and a pleasure to talk with.

Everyone I spoke with was polite, helpful and professional. They made the arrangements for APS to shut off the power so the crew member could work around the power line, then had it turned back on again--one less item on my to-do list. The estimate had to be revised several times as we clarified the work needed, and they made the changes and got a new estimate to me quickly each time. Great customer service. The crew arrived within the time frame I was given, and got to work. They worked quickly and removed debris as they worked. A big selling point was that there was no charge for hauling away the remains of the palm tree. Thanks everyone!
Description of Work: Hired to cut back tree branches that had grown around power lines, to remove a tall palm tree that was inches away from the patio roof, and to grind that stump and an old one in the front yard.

I had called several companies for estimates on thinning the pine trees. They are 60 feet tall and overgrown in the tops. Tree Pros was the only company that actually followed up on the estimates. They called me for about a year. When I could afford it I took the next call and scheduled the work. They sent Joe out to see if things had changed and he verified the cost was still the same. While he was there I showed him an Ash tree that had several big branches damaged by borers (big worms). He called me back with a price of $3,500 to bring out a crane and take out the whole tree. I declined and said we did not need to take out the whole tree. I need to say that he was correct that the tree needs to come out but I can do the rest of the work, I could not take out the big limbs that hung over the fence. Joe said to take it up with the crew when they arrived. The J team arrived and from the very first handshake they were professional and a pleasure to work with. They trimmed the pine trees and when they left you could not tell they had ever been here. If I had not seen the work and knew the trimming filled the whole truck I might have disputed how much they actually did. The trees look really good now. They looked at the Ash tree and agreed they could go up and take out the bad limbs. The cost was agreeable and again when they left the tree looks as if that was how it always looked. I read some of the other reviews and I would comment that tree people trim to a different standard that some homeowners expect. They trim for future growth and sometimes that looks pretty sever, but in most cases it is not wrong, just not attractive for a while. In addition I never let contractors or other trades people do work without supervision. If you do not stay involved they will make decisions on their own that you may not agree with. Many times these decisions are based on construction knowledge not your vision. So if you have a vision, stay visible and supervise. This has always been accepted eagerly by the people who have done work for me.

The estimate for the work done seemed comparable to other arborists with whom I had spoken. The Tree Pros arborist mentioned that I lived beyond the usual service area and that a "distance fee" usually applied but that he would waive the fee. The quality of the tree trimming and stump grinding was excellent and they removed all waste associated with the trimming. However, the workers destroyed the low-voltage landscape lighting and the drip irrigation system in the process of removing the damaged tree, which I did not notice until after I had paid the bill. The damage was fairly obvious (pieces of shredded irrigation tubing and wiring for the low-voltage lighting littered the ground) so I doubt that the workers didn't realize what they had done.
Description of Work: An arborist from Tree Pros provided an estimate for work to be done. The work included trimming of two trees and large shrubs, removal of a damaged tree, and stump grinding of the removed tree.

A while back, we got an estimate to remove a tree in our yard. They were a little inconsistent with their communications--sometimes very proactive in calling, another time not calling back for days. We ultimately decided not to remove the tree after all. Their bid was very reasonable and they have many, many great reviews on other sites so when we decided to have all our trees trimmed, we considered them again. They also offered a really good discount. I was hesitant based on our past experience, but their reputation was so good that we thought it would be fine. Communications didn't improve once we decided to hire them. When they did the estimate, they left out part of my request and had to come out again. I called to schedule the work and someone from scheduling had to call me back. Several days later, I hadn't heard anything and had to call them again. They couldn't come out on Thursday like we wanted them to, but since we didn't have to be there, it wasn't a big deal to have them come out on Wednesday. Wednesday afternoon, they called to "remind" me that they were coming out the next day! Because of the nature of the work (we didn't have to be home for the estimate or the work), this was mostly just annoying. Otherwise, we would have been more unhappy. However, the price was great and our trees really do look so much better.

Able to quickly schedule for individual to give estimate and take notes of desired tasks. Work crew scheduled promptly. Crew of five individuals came to home early in day and worked continuously until task completed. Excellent clean-up of all "scraps." Yard looked extremely well-groomed. Shaping of bushes was as directed. Certified arborhist fertilized palms and he came afterward to look at the work that the crew performed.

A few days later a team showed up, sat down and ate lunch on my lawn. Lunch over, they came to the door and said "How you want us to trim these trees?" I said "According to the arborist's notes." That seemed to confuse them, because they kept asking "How you want us to trim these trees?" They said they had the "arborist's" notes, but apparently never referred to them. Out in the back yard, I explained again what I wanted done to the trees, then went inside to my office and my own work. A little later they were done and I went outside to look. And was horrified. The Chinese Tallow had been stripped of all small branches in the middle, and the larger branches cut "to the bone." The way the leaves grow on it now, it looks kind of like a giant green poodle. Same thing with the pine: a trunk with sticks. The fig tree was OK, but it takes a lot to kill a fig. The real damage was in the front: To the Arizona Ash trees they had done the EXACT OPPOSITE of what I had requested. The trees were still tall, the lower branches which I had wanted to spread, were all cut short. And they'd cut mostly live wood from the Bottle Brush tree. I told them I'd deal directly with their office regarding payment, and sent them packing. // The office sent out a man who tried to tell me that the evidence of my own eyes was wrong. I sent him packing, also. Finally we agreed on a settlement: I paid them for everything except their work on the two Arizona Ash trees. I still believe I paid them way too much.
Description of Work: Tree Pro's know how to advertise, and that's about all they know. They sure suckered me in. As of early 2008, all my trees needed trimming, and since their ads sounded believable, I called them. They told me a "certified arborist" would be around to check the trees and provide a report, then they would follow up with a team to do the actual trimming. The "arborist" showed up and I walked around my front and back yard with him, listening to his advice and telling him exactly how I wanted the trees pruned: In the back yard, the Chinese Tallow to be shortened and shaped, the fig tree cut back, dead needles cleaned from the pine. In the front yard, the two Arizona Ash trees to be shortened, but the lower branches to be LEFT ALONE because I wanted the shade to spread; and the Bottle Brush, where the hummingbirds nest, to have the deadwood cut away. The "arborist" made his notes and went away. So far so good.

They were not as good as I thought they were going to be. They did not explain to me the service as well as I thought they should've. They broke one of the sprinkler heads in my yard. They said they didn't do it but they ended up fixing it. They told me I would notice a difference in the trees within a month or two but I have not. They didn't trim the tree as well as I thought they should've.

My initial (and subsequent) calls were answered in a timely fashion; the estimator arrived during the specified time; the tree removers arrived during the specified time; the stump grinder arrived during the specified time. I'm not sure if the price was reasonable because I didn't get any other estimates. The tree was about 25' tall so I think it was reasonable. Because of the good communication and follow through I am happy even if the price was a little high (if it was).

After I came home and saw the damages, I called Roland to find out why Tree Pros did this to my property. He said that we had a "verbal agreement". However, the estimate that Roland gave me states, "This contract represents the entire agreement between you and us and may not be amended or modified except by a subsequent written agreement." It also states, "All work is guaranteed to be performed in accordance with the specifications submitted and completed in a substantial work-like manner..." The Estimate then states, " The above prices, specifications and conditions are satisfactory and hereby accepted. You are authorized to do the work as specified" and that is not signed by me because I did not authorize Tree Pros to do the work. After Roland hung up on me, I called Tree Pro's office and spoke to Mike Espanoza. He also refused to discuss the cost of damages his company did to my professionally landscaped property. Tree Pros has ignored my letter and email regarding damages.
Description of Work: A Tree Pros representative provided me with a written estimate for the possible removal of one queen palm and the trimming of dead frowns and seedpods on my two other queen palms in my front yard. Two days later, when I was not home and without my authorization or a scheduled appointment, Tree Pros removed one of my queen palms, leaving it's stump that has to be professionally removed now, and "butchered" my other queen palms. These were large mature 13 year old queen palms, which are now struggling to survive without the frowns they need to stay healthy and disease free and look attractive. Tree Pros Estimate I received from Roland, has both ISA Certified Arborist and ISA Certified Tree Worker numbers printed on it implying that Roland is an ISA Certified Arborist and ISA Tree Worker. ISA logos and ISA trademarks are on Tree Pros Estimate and advertising flyers implying that Tree Pros is ISA certified or associated with the ISA, which I believe is false and misleading advertising.

This customer gave a verbal approval to complete the job. She then received 2 follow up calls and at no time did she cancel. In Arizona a verbal contract is valid and legal. She has slandered our company and we are now going to pursue legal avenues for payment of our services.
