"I am a homeowner who is out of state. Gerardo was extremely proactive and responsive when I called him. Within two hours he had done an assessment and provided me a quote that was 15% lower than the next best quote (I had received from another company). Within a day his team had installed the hvac system and had it operational. I highly recommend Sun Devil heating and cooling."

"Margaret contacted me very quickly and sounded very informed about HVAC systems, asking detailed questions to give the technician the best idea of the problem before they arrived. I had a burning smell coming from my vents inside and outside of my house. This was concerning so she made sure that I was scheduled right away, same day, within an hour of my inquiry. Jose showed and within 2 minutes he had an idea of what it was and as soon as he climbed down from the attic, he showed me photographs of my burn out, seized up blower motor. The exact issue he had thought it would be. He has a rough idea of what the fix would cost but said the office would send me an invoice with the exact estimate. They didâ ¦ in minutes! With a quick electronic approval, not long later Jose showed me my nice new motor before he hauled it back up to the attic, cleaned up behind himself and went outside to take one last look at my AC unit. When he did, he discovered that the tech who replaced my capacitor last summer didnâ t put the panel back on correctly and water could have been getting inside of an area it shouldnâ t get to. Thankfully where I live gets missed by most storms; however, I am very grateful the Jose took the time to be thorough and look closely at the state of my unit and then follow through with adjusting the panel to the proper position for me. I had an incredible, professional, caring, expeditious experience with Valleywide Cooling and will call them again without hesitation for any HVAC related needs."

"After a sleepless night (too hot) with little AC, I put in a request for AC service with Angi. Within seconds of completing my request, one hour Heating and Air Conditioning reached out. I scheduled service for a few hours later that same day. Cody came out and worked on the system for around two hours to resolve our issue. He stayed long enough to insure the system was working as it should. Upon completion I was expecting a fairly large bill for the service but was delighted to find I could sign up for regular service for a small fee. Everything is working great and we are happy and Cool!"

"Our AC stopped working suddenly due to a grounded compressor. He came out to our house that night, helped diagnose what went wrong (while showing me all the steps he was taking) and was back the next day with a new unit to install. Friendly, punctual, and always kept me updated on everything. Will definitely recommend to family and friends!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, HVAC zoning is generally considered worth the investment by both experts and homeowners. Zoned systems offer significant benefits in convenience, efficiency, and comfort by allowing you to set different temperatures for various rooms or 'zones' in your house. This ability to heat and cool only the spaces you're using leads to energy savings and lower utility bills. Zoned systems are especially effective in multi-level homes that experience temperature fluctuations, but even smaller homes can benefit from the ability to adjust temperatures more quickly. While the up-front installation cost can be high, many find it's a worthwhile long-term investment, particularly for those who plan to stay in their home for a while.

If the air coming from your AC unit is cool but never quite cold, there are a few reasons this might be happening. For starters, it could signal that your refrigerant levels are low. If there are no other indications of this particular issue, like hissing noises or frozen refrigerant lines, anything from dirty filters to damaged condenser or evaporator coils could be responsible for the problem.

Yes, a mini split AC system can replace central air—and quite easily, too. Since mini splits don’t require ductwork, homeowners can convert their central air system to a mini split to save money and energy. Consult with an HVAC professional to learn more about the process of replacing your central air with a mini split.

If your AC suddenly stops working, the first thing to check is your thermostat settings. Ensure the thermostat is set to the appropriate temperature and mode (cooling). Sometimes, a simple adjustment or replacing the batteries in the thermostat can resolve the issue. If that’s not the issue, look to see if the circuit breaker tripped. These basic checks can often identify simple fixes before you need to call for professional assistance.

While personal preferences widely vary, sleep experts say the best temperature for sleeping is between 60 and 67 degrees Fahrenheit rather than 78. If you do choose to sleep with your AC unit tuned to 78 degrees, you might want to use only a sheet or light blanket rather than a comforter. You might also consider installing a window unit in your bedroom so that you can be cooler in bed without wasting energy cooling the whole house.
