Description of Work: I have had a huge amount of blown equipment and light bulbs. They came through and analyzed what might be causing the problem and offered several solutions. One is the whole house surge protection they put on the panel. I will be getting that. Also have switched to a lot of LED bulbs.

+ -1 moreWhen I initially called, I was told there was to be a $49 trip charge to do the estimate, even if no work was done. I have been caught in this game before and was cautious. In my previous experience the technician came out and gave an outrageous estimate, collected his trip charge and left. Since this was a very simple job, I thought that if their price was outrageous, at least I could get them to do a small portion of the job and do the rest myself. Two workmen came to the appointment; arriving on time. One was an experienced electrician, the other was in some late stage of training. An estimate was given and agreed upon. I was surprised to find that the $49 trip charge was in addition to any work they performed. The price seemed high for the work to be done, but it was late in a remodel process and these guys seemed to know what they were doing. I did not want to call in someone else and start all over. They did the work as estimated, completing the job in about three hours. They left the worksite clean.
Description of Work: Completed wiring for electric cook top. Installed two recessed cans (provided by me) and an outlet.

+ -1 moreTwo men arrived on time and thoroughly inspected the kitchen and electrical lines in our old condo. They installed the new ground fault interrupters and discussed with us the best way to install the new outlet if that is what we decide to do. They inspected the circuit box and checked to be sure ground fault interrupters had been installed in the bathrooms. They pointed out an area where the previous owner had done some home-grown handy work that was not done to code. They advised us on two ways that ceiling fans could be retrofitted...a hard, expensive and invisible way and an easier, cheaper but not so pretty way. We felt that the work was competently done and the advice they gave was valid. If we ever get out from under the kitchen project and on to other things we will definitely call this company again for electrical work.
Description of Work: They were called to upgrade the outlets in our kitchen which we were remodeling. We also wanted advice on installing a new outlet and the future installation of ceiling fans.

+ -1 moreWhen I called for service, I was treated professionally. The office ran through a checklist (check the circuit breaker, etc) before scheduling the service call. They scheduled the call on Friday as I requested. The technician arrived within the time frame quoted. He was professional and thoroughly explained his process. He identified the problem and fixed it within 30 minutes. He also provided tips on how to inexpensively replace our pond's burned-out light transformer. While dealing with The Mighty Electricians was a pleasant experience, I felt the cost for the work done was a little high.
Description of Work: Diagnose power line to water feature in back yard. Socket had bad GFCI. Replaced the GFCI socket.

+ 0 moreOMG!!! Do these guys know their stuff! What a fabulous company. Punctual, clean, knowledgeable, respectful, proficient--I'm sure I'm leaving out an adjective or two. They explain everything they're doing and, while not the cheapest in the Valley, I think they're worth every penney. I now have a "wish list" of the things I couldn't afford. I think I'll ask for some more art spots for Christmas!! Talk to them, you won't be sorry.

If you are looking for experience, honesty,cleanliness, professionalism, then I highly recomend Jerry and Jon at Mighty Electric Company.
Description of Work: We bought our house in May of 2010. It was built in 1984. I contacted Mighty Electric to look at our service panel. They came when they said that they would and even called me to let me know the eta. This was huge for me because I have had bad luck with contractors in the past that were late or didn't show up at all. I have very little patients for companies that do business like that. When the electrician arrived he was very professional, and even put covers over his shoes. He answered all my questions and explained everything in detail that was needed. There was no pressure at all, and I could tell that he knew what he was talking about. Experience shows. I had them put in a new service panel and whole house surge protecter. They made all the arrangements for the permit, APS, and kept me informed during the whole process. I have a dog and didn't want him to get in the way of them working so I felt 100% safe leaving them alone at the house while they did the work. When they were finished they called me and they stayed until I got home and went through everything that they did with me. They were very thorough with the work and labeled each breaker switch letting me know which switch went where. They informed me of some other electrical problems that our house has and will gladly let them do the work.

I cannot say enough good things about them! The worker was professional in every way. He even called 30 minutes before arriving, which I appreciated. He also took the time to wear shoe covers in my home as well as a uniform. I could not be happier with the services.

+ -1 moreThey very quickly understood the problem and identified that the problem was with the service to the house, which it turned out it was. They made the call to the power company and arranged for them to get their part of it done. They just charged me for the standard rate for the service call, which was about $85. I thought that the price was a little high but that probably is normal for electrical work. I was very pleased with the work. Based on that very brief experience, I would say that they seemed to be very competent. They didn?t come back to me on a couple of quotes I had asked them to give me for two additional small jobs. I would use them in the future, if necessary.
Description of Work: I had a problem with power surges, and so I used The Mighty Electricians to check it out for me.

+ -1 moreJon had come about 2 weeks earlier and did a full house inspection of the electrical system and discovered the meter box was pulling away from the wall. We discussed the options depending on what SRP would allow. He then contacted SRP, and called to set an appt. for work. He arrived on time, did the initial work, and waited until the SRP inspector arrived. Fortunately, the meter box could be re-screwed to the wall, but, unfortunately it wasn't holding and he had to come inside and cut a hole in the drywall, install 2 wood braces between the studs and finish attaching the box and caulking around it. While the SRP inspector was checking the work, the inspector broke the meter socket, (which accounted for $571 of the cost and will be paid to me by SRP), which Jon replaced. A whole house surge protector was also installed. A few hours after Jon left, I realized the AC wasn't working, so Jon returrned and found the breaker was broken, and replaced that.
Description of Work: Re-attached loose meter box to the wall, caulked around it, installed a whole house surge protector, replaced the meter socket, and replaced a bad breaker.
