The Mighty Electricians

We contacted the Mighty Electricians (ME) after we bought an electric car and wanted to install a charging station at home. Our breaker box had no free circuits for the 50A/240V line we needed and, in any case, was in need of an upgrade for future solar panel installation. So ME's Jon (owner) and Shane installed a new 200A panel, a new riser, whole home surge protector, the 50A/240V line and outlet, and the plug-in Clipper Creek charging station. They also upgraded the water bonds and ground rods, and handled permitting in Tempe and coordination with SRP. Overall, Jon and ME were very easy to work with and professionally completed the job on time. The work was expensive but, in my view, reasonably priced given the scope of the work. I would certainly work with Jon and ME again and recommendation to others.

It took a long time for them to figure out and remedy the repair. Cost more than I had hoped. And, as for promptness and responsiveness, it could have been better.

Wanted to use them because I heard of great reviews but of all the electricians I called, they were the only ones who required a $49 travel fee so I moved on to the others.

Started work on time the day before Thanksgiving and worked well into the afternoon. Found various issues and was able to provide solutions for all issues. Job was completed very professionally.

We had a large tree blow over onto our powerline, bending the electrical mast on the roof. The electrical company couldn't reconnect the line to the bent mast, so we needed someone to come out quickly. The Mighty Electricians made our service call a priority and they did not charge us extra. The electrician who did the work did a great job quickly and he was very professional. I would recommend them.

Electrician made several suggestions that made service a little cheaper and was very thorough with the install.

Mike recommended a type of LED light with which we were unfamiliar, and we're very pleased with them. The LEDs are heads and shoulders above what we had planned. They are mounted on an adhesive strip rather then in a fixture. Because they are a strip that can be cut to size, we have more even lighting than we could have achieved with fixtures that only come in set lengths. The under cabinet LEDs were $1,480 and the conduit replacement was $335. Mike was pleasant, professional, did high quality work, and protected our property from dust/damage as he went.

I was so impressed with the work. I needed some outlets installed in my older home. I didn't have any cable outlets in my family room and I wanted to hang a tv to surprise my husband. I also had some outdated ceiling fans and no ceiling fans in my living room and family room. I also didn't have a light over the front door. Mighty Electricians came and gave me a quote and I liked them so much I didn't even get another quote, especially since it was a really good price. They had to run wiring for all but one fan that I wanted and then had to cut my drywall to place the outlets, switches and cable outlets. During the installation they discovered that I'd gotten the wrong type of fan and, amazingly they went to Home Depot with me to help me get the right thing. They also suggested some great wall switches that dim and control the fan speed. Those were a bit pricey but soooo worth it! No more fan remote controls or chains hanging down! So nice! Then, as they were finishing up, they offered to hang the tv for me and I told them I had to go pick it up and they offered to take me to Costco to get that since they had a big box truck. I took them up on it and they went with me and delivered the tv right to my front door. I didn't have them install it because it was getting late but just the fact that they did all these extras for me was the most amazing thing I've ever encountered when working with any company!

I bought an older home and was dismayed to discover the condition of the main panel so I called The Mighty Electricians to get it sorted out. I'd used them before and trusted that they would do a professional job and they did. I am planning so upgrades to my home in the next few years and I told them what I would be needing and they ordered a special panel to meet my needs. They also recommended a 225v panel with a surge protector for the house to meet future needs. It was professionally installed and labeled, a really nice piece of work! For all consultation appointments and on the day of service, they showed up right on time and even though they told me the job could take all day they were done hours before I expected them to be, so nice! The only reason I gave a B for responsiveness is because I requested an emailed quote for the work and it took several texts and calls to get that to me. Not a reason not to use this fabulous company again though.

We had to have recently had to have the work re-done. When you met him, he was a very nice punctual, person. First, the electricity seemed to be okay. Once there was something wrong with the job, we could not get a hold of him. I spoke with his secretary several times and he never got back to me. Later, I found out that his secretary was a company from out of state that he had never met in real life. I would never hire him again.

Mike was very nice to me. He came out to look at the light and did some tests. He said the wiring fixture was no good an needed to be replaced. He sent someone out a couple days later and they did a very good job and I was pleased with the job.

Mike came out and said it was already hooked up so he didn't need to do anything. He was great. He was extremely honest and plenty of other companies would have taken advantage and said they did some work when they didn't. I would certainly call him again if I needed an electrician.

It's been over a month since I sent them an email and I still haven't heard back from them.

I called for an estimate to add electrical service if needed to my home office. Two professional gentlemen came out and surveyed the situation and gave us a written estimate for $4800. I was somewhat shocked but after all, figured it was needed and not cheap. To get a second opinion I actually called the electrical contractor who built this house and got them to come out and do the same and they said I was fine with the load currently being placed on my system which they tested extensively. Said I didn't need any additional work and proceeded to add the extra outlet I wanted in my bathroom. So while I am not saying the Mighty Electricians did anything wrong, I think their estimate caused me to get a second opinion and that was far different than theirs.

The two men who came were knowledgeable, clean, prompt and friendly. While we did not end up using them, I have no doubt that their work is of high quality. We chose another contractor for two reasons: First: Lack of Design Experience We needed an opinion on which light should go where. Should this be bright or soft light? How low should this chandelier hang? They had opinions, but not very strong ones, "Oh yeah....you could do that if you wanted." They also wanted to install a LOT more lights than we thought we needed. They would probably do better with jobs where an exact result is needed. Second: Price The biggest concern we had was price. Their bid came in THOUSANDS above other contractors. We are very particular people and like you - we like things just so. While we knew they were of high quality, the price was just crazy money. If you do hire them, I'd recommend having a second or third company bid the job - unless you really want to pay hundreds of dollars per surgical bootie that they wear.

They were very professional and prompt. They got the work done quickly and in a timeframe they had told me. I would definitely use them again in the future if necessary.

They showed up on time, were polite and mindful of keeping the floor clean. I was very comfortable even though I was home alone. They were very professional and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Owner Mike actually came out to do the work. He was a top-notch professional, experienced, knowledgable, genuinely courteous and helpful. He listened carefully to our description of the problem. We appreciated his explanation of preventive maintenance we might consider. We also appreciated his post-job follow up. Their trucks are well-stocked to address most problems that might be encountered. We felt we received good value for money spent and will call them again for future work.

Instead of replacing the subpanel which was too old to refurbish, they agreed to route the subpanel circuits back to the main breaker box turning the sub panel into a junction box. The best part was that they only charged me for one run when they could have charged for each circuit since they were able to route all the circuits back using the existing conduit serving the subpanel. Several individual circuits were overloaded (kitchen) or could be easily overloaded (bathroom, media wall) so they ran individual dedicated circuits to outlets serving the refrigerator, washer/dryer, media center and a gfi protected circuit to the bathroom. Once again the delivered value by only charging for two runs where the circuits were located close together (fridge/washer dryer) , (media wall/bathroom) when they could have charged for four. Lastly, they came up with a flexible solution to an outdoor circuit that wasn't properly grounded or weatherproofed. Responding to my request to only do what was needed to make the system safe and to keep costs down, they proposed to a work-sharing arrangement where I would demolish the old run and they would replace it for a reduced cost. In the process of demolishing it, I decided that parts of it could be saved and that I could do the installation of the grounds, weatherproof j-boxes and fixtures myself. That ended up being a win-win for everyone since it created some room in their tight schedule and I saved the estimated cost of the run (about $1,200) minus materials ($300) and got the benefit of their oversight and input. In summary, these guys (John and Jon) were great to work with. They did work I can trust to be safe and reliable and demonstrated how they earned their Better Business Bureau Ethics Award by providing transparent pricing on each part of the job and by working with me to offer flexible options to keep the work and costs in line with my needs. These folks were extremely professional from start (i.e., my initial contact to get a price and schedule the work) to the end when they walked out of the house after completing the job. Professional, pleasant, customer-focused and quick. For pricing, they use a standard price sheet, so whether the job takes more time or less time than they estimated the price is the same.
