The Mighty Electricians

Description of Work: I should have known I was in trouble when the large, clean, well-appointed truck pulled up and two men, in uniforms, emerged. My immediate thought....OVERHEAD. Of course, one cannot get ANY information over the phone before scheduling an appointment. So, they come out and tell me that (1) my two ceiling fans as "blown" as they have been improperly installed, (2) they would have to get in the attic to know how much it would be to fix the situation, (3) they weren't willing to get in the attic as it was 111 degrees, (4) I had the wrong 'wire bundles' on all of my outlets (3000 sq ft house) and the ones I had were a fire hazard. So, I was just charged a "diagnosis fee" which was bout $230. I had a $29 coupon. When I asked them how much it would be to install two new ceiling fans, they said $800!!!!!! Most handy men charge $100-150 to install a fan. I called my contractor about the outlet issue. He called the electrician who installed the oulets just 4 years ago. My contractor told me that the electrician told him that he installed equipment that was 'to code' at the time and that The Mighty Electricians Inc were just trying to scare me into spending several thousand dollards to replace all the oulets in the house. This is my first experience with Angie's List. I'm not sure what I expected. I didn't expect this. I guess I thought I would find good quality help for a reasonable price. I didn't expect to be gouged.
