It was fine. They went there very quickly to do it. They met all my expectations and they just did the inspection. They did everything I expected them to do. The scheduling was fine.

Everything went great! They were on time, professional, and gave me a great price. Even my home warranty company stated they were the best roofing company they have ever worked with. I would recommend this company to any of my friends.

They exceeded what I thought they would do. They were very polite and thorough even did a great clean up! What they did was check the roof on house and Gazebo for loose tile or missing tile. I had an end piece that fell off. They replaced it and secured about ten others that were loose behind it. I had the piece of tile they needed but it was great that they fixed it. Also, I had some tree branches growing over the roof. They clipped them and blew out the valley of the roof that had the debri. They also cleaned front of house and side where debri fell from the roof. They gave me tips on how to preserve my roof underlay longer. I would definitely hire this comany again.

I purchased one of the $199 maintenance packages on Angie's List from Spencer 4 Hire Roofing. I knew I had broken tiles and I appreciated that it clearly stated that it would cost an additional $10 per broken tile. Upon purchasing the package I was quickly notified through Angie's List and passed along my contact details. I then received a call and notified them they could access my roof any time for the initial inspection. They did the initial inspection then confirmed the total number of broken tiles that needed replaced along with another repair. I proceeded with the total list of repairs and they were out within a week to finish the repairs. Overall, they did a great job and I appreciate it.

There was absolutely no doubt that the roof needed replaced; there were multiple large leaks and the roof was poorly built to begin with and not maintained by the previous homeowner. I met with nine other companies and received estimates from all of them. Their representative came over and was incredibly professional, performed the estimate quickly and was very polite. I had felt bad because I was called into work and had to rush him out of the door and if he was upset he didn't show it, he was actually very accommodating. He clearly explained my options, gave me an easy to read estimate, and answered all of my questions. He was not condescending and did not seem like he was pitching me anything. I scheduled the service within three weeks of the estimate (this was more of a delay in my schedule rather than theirs). They arrived early in the morning, started work immediately, were very respectful of my home. They were even very careful to make sure that my dog was safely inside before throwing anything off of the roof (they had to remove the entire thing). Unfortunately, the roof had significantly more damage than previously expected and they gave me an opportunity to contact my insurance company to see if they would cover anything before resuming any work. While they were waiting, they took the opportunity to go and get the materials needed to fix my wood trim around the roof (I think it's called flashing?) and they were able to find a cement board product that looks exactly like wood so it would hold up better and it looks beautiful. They even did the service of going over my pitched roof and repairing or replacing broken or loose shingles, despite the fact that I only asked them to help with my flat roof. They finished up, cleaned up all of their materials and trash, and were polite and courteous the entire time. Not once did they ever not answer or return a call within the hour. Why am I writing this review now almost four months after the work was done? Last weekend my neighborhood was hit with a microburst storm that happened during a monsoon. It was so bad that streets closed, power lines were downed, trees were downed, streets were flooded, block walls were destroyed and the rain was torrential, and multiple people's roofs were ripped right off. However, our roof is just fine, not a detectable leak anywhere. The wind was strong enough to break thick branches off the very large tree in our front yard and uproot plants from our garden, but the roof is great. I could not recommend Spencer-4-Hire more, and if I ever had more work to do I would not hesitate to contact them again.

Called Brandon, at the last minute, to see if he could replace approximately 20 cracked tiles and do an overall inspection of my roof. Brandon responded quickly and had a crew out to the house in about 3 days. The crew did a great job. They not only inspected the roof and replaced the tiles... they also cleaned the roof, hauled away the debris, trimmed a tree that was rubbing the roof and re-tar'ed a couple of air vents. I was thourougly impressed by the crew's attituded and quality of work. I was also very pleased with Brandon's rapid responce and willingness to assist us in wrapping up our sale. Thanks Brandon!

I contacted Spencer 4 Hire.They came at the appointed date and time, and inspected my roof. They gave me options on what could be done with corresponding prices. They gave me a date as to when they would start and how long the job would take. Two days prior to the start date, they called to say that the start date would be delayed by one day due to the previous job not finishing on time. .They arrived the day they said and started the work. Each day at the end of the day, they made sure that everything was cleaned up both in the front and back of the house. One of the owners came during the work as well as the end of the job to inspect all the work that had been done and to see if I had any questions. They were very pleasant and professional though out the time they were here.

The Spencer brothers were extremely professional, accommodating, the work was done quickly, and the level of quality was second to none.

Brandon arrived and completed a competitive estimate as scheduled. I ended up choosing another contractor for the work because Spencer 4 Hire Roofing had a full schedule for the next 2 weeks and we had a need to have the work completed sooner. I will definitely consider Spencer 4 Hire Roofing for any future roofing needs as they seem to operate professionally and with excellent communication and follow-up.

We knew it wouldn't be done immediately and they gave us an estimated work start date. In the mean time they came and had workers cover the problem areas with plastic before the expected rain storms came. When they began work, they put in long hours, were on time and very neat and courteous. Any questions or phone calls were quickly responded to. When the work was finished they cleaned up thoroughly and the roof looks great and we haven't had any issues.

Spoke to the provider around 3/18/14. Wanted to see if I was located close enough to Ahwatukee to take advantage of their Ahwatukee Special. I came away from the conversation believing that the next step would be an inspection of the roof and then I would be notified of the work needed and the total cost. I was told no one needed to be home for them to inspect the roof. On 3/26/14 they arrived, my husband acknowledged them on his way off to work, they looked at the roof and left. (I was actually surprised to see them since I had not been informed of a date for the inspection. I knew no one would have to be home for the inspection to be performed but I also thought a date would have been provided.) I observed them from my home office window. Now I am thinking that I am waiting for the next step. I expected the next step to be a call providing complete details of repairs needed and total cost for service. But, as I was working I saw the truck pull back up about 4 hours later and men begin to unload things to start the work. I placed my caller on hold and ran downstairs to find out what was going on. At that point I was told they were there to do the work. (Now it may be a regional thing but I have never known a contractor to do business this way. In all of my experience there is an evaluation/estimate, a conversation about the estimate, an agreement to accept the estimate and have the work done, or a decision not to have the work done and a fee paid for the estimate if it was not free.) I told them to stop and I returned to my call. Shortly thereafter I got a call from the office basically scolding me because they were there to do the work and his men were wasting valuable time. I was told that the phone call had authorized the work to be done. When I explained there was a miscommunication I was emphatically told that there was no miscommunication because everyone in his office is trained to say the same thing and they do not do estimates unless they are authorized to do the work! I had a call come in that I had to take. When I got back to him he told me he spoke to the rep and the understanding was that I was going to pay $250 for the maintenance and $10 for any missing tiles. And everyone in the office presents their service the same, ?we do not do free estimates?. He said, ?I don?t understand why you are saying there was a miscommunication. I know ?Rep Name? and he would not lie?. Now this may be an overreaction, but at that point all I heard was you are lying. Because if he doesn?t see what the miscommunication was and he knows his guy and his guy would not lie then the only logical conclusion is that he is saying I am lying. Again this may be regional but no respectable business owner would ever speak to a customer in the way that he spoke to me. I have no idea what the service quality is but I do know I would not employ their services no matter the cost. People do business with people, which is why we on occasions will pay more for a service if we like the provider! I would stay away from this provider he believes the customer is always wrong! Based on at least one other review communication is an ongoing issue with this provider.

Once we decided to go with them, they scheduled our service about three weeks out. They started on the same day they scheduled, and ended on the same they estimated (about 4 days total). Payment was half before the job, and the remaining half once completed. The quality of the work was great, and the workers were thorough, asking questions about our preferences along the way. We felt comfortable using them, and thought the whole transaction was very professionally handled.

They turned out good. They were straight out honest. They said that I did not need the maintenance package. I would use them again.

Very professional and did their best cleaning up each day. Not the cheapest, but estimate was detailed and they give a 10 year warranty and they showed up on time, worked hard, and finished on time. We had tried patch fixes in the past but so glad we redid the entire thing.

I contacted this company first several months ago for tile roof maintenance. They did a great job came quickly and repaired our roof. So after a big storm this summer I called about inspecting the roof and fixing a tile that had fallen off. We probably played phone tag for 3-4 calls but finally I actually talked to someone. I told him about our problem and thought he would call me back to schedule an inspection. That call never came. In the mean time I called Porter roofing. They came out did an inspection and since it turned out to be a super easy fix fixed the tile for free. So I guess I should say thank you for not calling be back you probably saved me your tile maintenance price of $199

A complete waste of money! Worst purchase I have made on Angie's list!

Nathan came to my home along with other roofing companies,I went with Spencer for hire due to promptness and urgency of my roof, other company's stated they were 3 weeks out we had just had a storm I understood due to storm damage and that's when most people call,however Nathan was out the next day provided a great price along with discount for being on Angie's List which helped greatly,the roof was scheduled to start 9/23/13 a ways out but that was ok they arrived 9/13/13 when done it was great the on issue I had was with the debris in my pool the crew cleaned site very well and picked up most of the debris that were floating except water jug and pieces of clear plastic that are still in my pool ,all in all Great job and I would Recommend them to anyone Great Job Nathan!!!!! Representative arrived and complained that the Big Deal was not intended for an inspection and for minor repairs, but proceeded to climb the roof and check things out anyway, There seemed to be a difference of opinion regarding what the offer through Angie's List intended. Nevertheless, he made a recommendation and gave me a price for some minor patching to seal around chimney, vent pipes, skylights and flashing so that there would be no leaks during future rains. After I agreed to the price, he said he would have a crew come out and do the work on another date. No date was specified, to my recollection. About a week later, I came home from running errands and found some men on my roof. Thinking they were up there to catch tree trimmings from work done on a neighbor's palm tree, I asked what they were doing, since they were walking all over the roof. Then they explained that they were doing patchwork. But I received no courtesy phone call (a 'Heads-up' call, if you will) to alert me that the men were coming. Two days later someone else from the company came and inspected the work that was done and asked for payment. All in all, I had to deal with 3 different company representatives.. Rather disconcerting. Apparently the job was completed well enough that I suffered no additional leaks (into the garage) during a really good rain storm. I was not thrilled with the multiple representatives coming to my house nor the communication, or lack of same.....

They even took the extra care to rearrange roof tiles so that all of the new ones were hidden behind the chimney, rather than scattered out.

I decided to have them do the repairs. Spencer's provided me with a hand drawing detailing what they would complete... They showed up on time, did the work quickly, and were very professional. I would use Spencer's again. They were easy to work with.
