We hired Dov Shapira to install (3) three sets of Andersen Sliders we purchased for our home, and we are very pleased with the results. He removed all three sets of our 25 year old sliders, and replaced them with the new products. Dov came out to look at the project, evaluated our needs, and a couple days later called us with his estimate. He delivered everything as promised. The quality and time of installation were exactly as Dov promised us. He was knowledgeable and confident about the project and the installation of the doors. Dov arrived everyday as he planned, did the work he promised, and methodically installed each door, one every day. After installation he framed the interior to match perfectly with our home. As Dov said from the beginning, he did not leave until we were 100% happy with the project, and everything was done as expected and as promised. Dov performed excellent workmanship, he was very easy to work with and we would defiantly recommend Dov for any home project, and we would certainly use his services again.

Dov Shapira had a professional and courteous attitude and was very conscientious in performing the assigned project from start to finish. His costs were also fair and reasonable. His integrity and knowledge impressed me and I wouldn't hesitate to call on him in the future or recommend him to a friend. I was very satisfied with the final results.

As skilled a carpenter as you are going to find. Not many craftsman like this left in the market. I learned my lesson.... big name companies send illegal aliens over and put the money in the owners pocket. An independent specialist is the way to go. Follow up on small corrections is much easier than with a company with offices.

Shapira Builders did a good job. Very professional. You can tell Dov done doors for a very long time. From the time of estimate he knew exactly what need to be done to get the job done right. We scheduled an appointment and showed up with all the necessary tools and material. He got to work immediately. It took him 2 days to complete the work (about 6 to 8hrs of actual touch labor). Would have done it one day but had to wait for the mud work to dry over night. He matched the way the base boards and curved molding was to the rest of the house. Price seemed fair. Others quoted more time to do job. I don't feel he cut any corners. He took pride in work. He did a small grease stain in carpet from on of his tools but I was able to clean it up. Wouldn't keep me from using him again.

Dov Sharira responded within minutes to an email requesting an estimate. He came to my home in far North Scottsdale the next day and provided a written estimate. I agreed to his terms and paid half of the estimate price at that time. He scheduled the work for the middle of the following week. He showed up as schedule with a helper and completed the work in several hours, including clean up. The door and molding he installed exactly matched the other doors in my home and the workmanship was very good. Dov Shapira is courteous and delivered exactly what was promised.

We had a wonderful experience with A Shapira Builders. We were looking for a good woodworker to fix our sun-damaged front doors, which were specially made during a renovation two years ago. The heat from last summer caused the wood to shrink, exposing holes in the woodwork. The wood had even peeled and splintered in spots. Dov came out when he said he would, assessed both front doors and immeditely gave us what we feel was a good price for the work. We paid half before and the other half after the work was done. Dov again came right on time on the date he said he would. He was always in contact with us even to tell us he would be late on one particular day. He finished the job in two days and the doors look great, no light coming in where the wood had shrunken. We would definately use A Shapira Builders again.

Everything was done well. Dov met with us to assess the job and gave us an estimate for the work to be done. He picked up the custom doors stained them and brought them back to be installed. The job was done professionally and efficiently. If I have any more doors that need staining, installing or other such woodworking I will definitely call Dov.

Dov did great work. He came to the house in advance to take a look at the job, and then provided a free written quote by email. He scheduled the work to accommodate my travel plans and finished in one day. In all, he tore out the old frame and door, purchased the new door/frame, custom-fit the door, installed the knob/lock that I supplied, and painted everything nicely with paint that I supplied. The door looks great and functions beautifully, with a much better fit/seal - a huge improvement over what I had before! There was very little for me to clean up afterwards. Dov does great work, and I would gladly re-hire him.

The final result was very good. Had to take apart the entire door structure. We thought we would need a new door. he said no it could be fixed for much less. It was still not right after he fixed the first time and he had to come back the next day to make it right.

After exchanging emails and a phone call, Dov Shapira stopped by to show me pictures of what he has done. When he showed me what he built for another artist, I knew that's what I wanted. I had drawn him a picture of what I thought I wanted but his photo and suggestions made much more sense. My studio was a mess before, and now is so organized and a much better painting environment. I am very happy with his work.

I must give this company the highest possible rating for the quality of work, the fair pricing and the prompt work done. Dov Shapira was excellent at communicating about when we could expect him and about when he would complete the work. Custom installation was completed promptly and correctly. All doors fit snug and are weatherproof. Dov inspires confidence and he also is fair with pricing. An outstanding experience.

The owner, Dov, was very prompt and courteous. He did an excellent job and listened to the special need I had (I live in an area with scorpions). He added additional materials to the sides of the door frame. He cleaned up after himself. I would definitely hire him again. He kept in contact with me at all times so I knew exactly what time he would be arriving and what days he was available. I really appreciated that.

In speaking with three different firms Dov Shapira was the only person who felt he could do a good job using the existing door frames. All the others wanted to charge more and re-frame the doors. The job Dov did was just amazing. He is not only a superior carpenter but a dedicated craftsman, such a hard thing to find. If you are looking for exceptional work with a fair price Dov Shapira is the man to call.

He gave me an accurate proposal of services at a fair price and made himself available on short notice to accommodate my schedule. The work took a little longer than both of us expected, probably because the home is old and the openings were irregular. It was definitely a more difficult job than he anticipated, but he did not modify the estimate, which I appreciate. He did exactly what I requested, and both doors swing properly and close and lock securely, without drafts or sticking. Plus they look a WHOLE lot better! He asked for 50% down and the balance upon completion of the work. I had to leave before he was complete, and felt comfortable leaving him alone in my home, and he locked up when he left. He also called me to inquire about my satisfaction with his work. Overall, it went very well!

A few months before, Home Depot sent a guy over to measure my front door frame for a security door. This character said he couldn't t install a door there because of the previous homeowner s amateur door framing job; he gouged me with a $50 bill for this fine advice. Dov inspected the front door frame and announced that he was sure he could install a security door. It took a little doing, but after some extra work he succeeded in getting the door in place. The installation is sturdy, level, and clean, and the door opens, closes, latches, and locks smoothly and correctly. Another doorway needed re-framing, which Dov did with no problem. He works alone, and so it takes him some time to accomplish job, but his workmanship is excellent and he is pleasant to have around.
