Very good. Sweeps were unusual design. Door sill was warped. He was able to put new sweep in and adjust sill to seal the door. Side Garage door was replaced due to damage on prior door. Due to some issue with the house. the install was challenging. He was very responsive to come and adjust for issues after install to optimize. We contacted him again for some other door work a year later. He offered some suggestions that would be better for us in long run even though that was not in his immediate best interest. Would definitely hire him again

The work was completed in a reasonable amount of time and the final cost was the same as the original quote. The overall quality of the work performed was good however I noticed later that 2 of the hinges were missing some screws.

It was a 2 man job and took a good 3-4 hours. Dov purchased the door but custom built the frame, door jam, etc. on site. He had to cut out the wall for the door and there was no damage to the exterior stucco or interior walls at all. Looks very professional.

Dov and his assistant David stripped the door and trim, treated the wood, stained, and applied urethane to make the door look great again. They spread the tasks over several days to ensure that the wood was properly conditioned and the surfaces dried before proceeding to the next step. The attention to detail was outstanding. I will definitely use Shapira Builders again and recommend them without hesitation.

Dov installed two sets of new French doors for my walk deck. He got me a great deal on doors with double-paned "Low-E" windows. He did the work in a timely manner and did a great job of letting me know when to expect him to be at my house to perform the work. Everything is looking great now! Thanks Dov!

One thing, I asked Dov for an estimate to refinish the exterior of two-door front entry. Dov said it would be a lot cheaper to just replace the doors; that they would have to take the doors down, have them soaked in some kind of bath to remove all the finish, varnish, etc. We looked through some of the catalogs, but everything we liked would cost between $2000 - $2600, and would have taken a week or two to get here. Luckily we were able to find another company to refinish our double-entry front doors for far less money.

I called Shapira Builders to get an estimate on adding French doors into an open arch way for my formal dinning room so that the room can be turned into an executive office. Dov was the first estimate I received as I bid out all my jobs by at least 3 contractors. He was priced in line with others, but unlike other contractors who quoted me for the job I asked them to, he went above my request and actually suggested that instead of French doors that I make the doors sliders and to add dry wall to the beam supporting the doors and glass to decorate the arch. Other door companies just quoted me for the doors and explained that there would be a beam that the doors are suspended from (much less attractive) and I would need to call someone else to dry wall around it. Needless to say, his willingness to use his expertise to make suggestions is what set him apart. He installed the doors and added the dry wall, he even helped me look for a glass company that would be willing to install window stops for the glass since I could not find on willing to do that part, only install the glass. I could not be happier with how nice these doors look. They look like they came with the house instead of installed after, which is exactly what I wanted. Highly recommend him for this type of work. Any concerns and doubts I had along the way, he addressed them head on and gave alternatives to make me feel at ease. The approximate cost for this work was $2500.00.

Dov is a craftsman who assesses the problem before beginning work. We installed a new built-in refrigerator that was larger than the old one, so the appliance installers had removed the trim to make it fit. Dov's challenge was to reassemble the trim without having to fabricate new pieces and stain them. Mission accomplished. He carefully removed the glue from the old trim and sanded it, but he also modified the insulation trim in the refrigerator and realigned it because it was not square. All of the old pieces went back into place with new glue and nails. The trim looks like it has surrounded the refrigerator for 15 years. The fire door to the garage no longer slams and smoothly latches. The outside utility door has new hinges, and Dov came up with the idea of having a fab shop create a metal sill to keep the water out of the utility room. Dov's strength is a door doctor, but he is really a utility craftsman that can take on any carpentry challenge. Dov is very responsive, punctual, professional and cleans up thoroughly after his work. His fees are neither cheap nor overpriced, but seem fair for the value you receive. I would recommend Dov for your trim and door carpentry needs.

I didn't hire Dov, but I would keep him in mind for future jobs.

Dov and his partner worked very quickly in removing the arch and installing the frame. Workmanship was very good as everything was lined up well and the frame and door are very solid. My only minor complaint is that the spackling work to cover up the arch wasn't done with the same precision as the frame installation and required me to smooth everything out before applying a coat of paint over it.

We were so impressed with not only the professionalism of Dov but also the true craftsmanship that I find hard to find anymore. The doors were made and fit perfectly but more than that he and his assistant were a true pleasure to have in my home and do business with. When Dov was here to do the estimate on the door replacements he noticed some issues with our front door. We have just recently moved into our new home and truly hadn't had time to see every issue here. We were very grateful for the suggestion to refinish the front door that had a lot of sun damage in some areas. This door is oversized and curved and would have cost a fortune to replace had it dried out more and cracked. This door looks like new and he even worked on the hardware so that all of that looks great too. On his way out, after finishing our projects, he noticed that our back gate was hard to close and we have dogs. He went ahead and fixed that before he left and now it also works perfectly, no chance for it to stick and stay open so the dogs could get out for an unexpected adventure. This was one of the best experiences with any type of service that we've had since moving here. Dov is a true gentleman and artisan

He is excellent in his workmanship! The crown molding was perfect. He suggested that molding around my windows would finish the look I wanted. Therefore, molding was installed around the windows. Wow! After the rooms are painted It will be three beautiful rooms! Mr. Shapira was very nice and fun to have around, too.

Dov did a fantastic job. He returned my calls promptly and went out of his way to get my job done quickly. The workmanship is fantastic and my doors look beautiful. I plan on using Dov again for future work.

Dov responded very quickly to my original request for a quote through Angie's List to replace an exterior door that had leaked for years. I described the issue over the phone and he suggested replacing the door and installing a storm door to prevent future leaks. He researched the options and called back with a quote within 48 hours. Dov had asked me to take care of painting the door and trim which was fine with me since it cut down on the project cost. Once we agreed upon the price (very reasonable compared to the other quotes that I received), he came to the house and measured the door to be replaced. He immediately ordered the custom storm door which took 3 weeks to manufacture and returned a few days later to replace the leaking exterior door. The new door fit perfectly. He returned to install the storm door about 2 weeks later and again it fits perfectly. The only issue that I experienced was that it rained shortly after the initial door replacement and a small amount of water got in under the door. I called Dov and he came out first thing the next morning and fixed the problem (missed a small spot with the spray insulation). This was only an issue because the exterior trim had not been installed yet because it was scheduled to be taken care of when the storm door was installed. His quick response and resolution demonstrated to me that he definitely stands behind his work. The quality of work was excellent as was the craftmanship of the door trim that he cut and installed both inside and out. I highly recommend Dov to install doors and would definitely use his services again.

We finally decided that we wanted two 10-lite French doors to be put into the space. This left Dov a good bit of work to do before even bringing in the doors. He had to frame the very large opening to accommodate the doors we wanted and then put up drywall. He initially said two days of work; I was thinking that there was no way he would be completed in two days. Day two came around and I got a call from him stating that he was done and to come check it out. Dov gave me a very fair quote and stuck by it. He also slapped mud on the new drywall and framing that that he put up even after we agreed that he wasn?t going to do mud or texture work. I felt even better today after another contractor saw Dov?s work and was really impressed. He started pointing out other things about Dov?s work that I would have never noticed or known about. At the end of the day I?m very pleased and will have him back. Do yourself a favor and call this guy out? Mr. Dov.

The service was great. Our front door and back door no longer have any gaps of sunlight around it. The back door even locks more smoothly then it did before, and opens more smoothly. Dov had to custom make some of the pieces to use on our doors, and it was very much appreciated. Dov also pointed out some potential future issues with the back door, and told me how to keep them maintained so they don't become an issue. Overall, great and friendly service.

Dov is very conscientious about his work and it shows in the details. This was an extremely challenging job as my home is an old 1936 historic home complete with 80 year old challenges when it comes to updating. Dov surpassed my expectations and not only installed the door, but installed new trim and patched up the exterior stucco. He also communicated thoroughly throughout the entire process, from our consultation and help ordering the door through the installation, calling, texting, and sending pictures of the progress. We are very pleased and will be using him for future projects!

Excellent! I couldnt be more happy! I'd talked to 4 other builders who recommended I replace old door with a new per hung door. Minimum cost starts at 5500$. Shapira builders said that's a waste of money. They built new jamb and re hung our existing door. All work done on site in about 4 hours. I'll say this, if you need quality work done on your home weather it be doors, windows, etc. Shapira builders are the best by far.

Replaced six interior doors, including one pocket door. I provided the door handles, but Dov installed them as well. I will paint the doors myself. The project went well and the new doors look great. I found Dov very easy to work with and will use him again.
