Everyone did everything that was agreed upon in the contract with the techs doing some small extra work at not cost which ensured the satisfaction of the homeowners.

 + -1 moreThe plumber arrived and I showed him the leak. Within a half hour he had the pipe dug up (2 feet down in the mud) and the problem diagnosed. He recommended a pretty large repair, involving replacing the plastic pipe with copper pipe, from the meter to my house. It would have to go under the driveway slab also. The estimate was for about $5,000. I got a second opinion, and I am very glad I did. The second plumber suggested that a simple repair of the pipe was all that was needed, and placed the repair costs into an overall perspective of house repairs and future values. It was suggested that Parker was a bit slow at that time, and they needed the business. (By the second plumber, as well as the Parker plumber). I wish the Parker plumber had presented a less biased opinion. He was not dishonest about it, I feel, but to me it was pretty close. It was at least heavily biased. Estimated cost was $250.
Description of Work: This was for an estimate only. I was referred to them by a lawn irrigation repair company that I had do an estimate. The lawn irrigation company did not do plumbing. The person dug up where there was a leak in the water pipe that supply the house, from the meter. He then suggested the work that needed to be done, and an estimate for that.

 + -1 moreThe guy from Parker & Sons spent way more time doing the work than they should have. They didnt even fix it the first time and I had to have them come out a second time. The technician cut a whole in my yard and it cut into my sprinkler system and created a new leak. I had a landscaper come out and repair the sprinkler system. He was able to repair everything for just $150, whereas Parker & Sons charged me $629 and didnt even do the work correctly.
Description of Work: My water meter was leaking. I called the water company to check it and discovered that it was not their issue and that we were responsible for fixing it.

 + -1 moreOn a Saturday morning we discovered a broken water line to our refrigerator. Called Parker & Sons and they were at our house within an hour. Their representative Bernie, was professional, explained what work would be need to be performed, asked if we understood and always asked if we wanted each repair as he did the work. He not only did great work, he cleaned up the area after the work was completed. I would recommend Parker & Sons for any job and will use them again the future if the need arises. Also put Parker & Sons in our company's database of preferred service vendors.
Description of Work: Found the broken water line in the wall behind the refrigerator. Found and replaced shut off value to water line. Cut out drywall and repaired broken water line. Put in water shut off value and connection box at the refrigerator.

 + -1 moreIt ended up being a condo/association wide problem. The matter later became a condo project. I think they are 100% and did a good job. Also, when the installer came out to put a new thermostat in for me, after the job was finished, the installer accidentally pitched my instruction manual as he was gathering up all of his materials. I didn't think it was a big enough deal to get upset about it and I would still use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I was having a problem with moisture accumulating in my condo unit. They come out and service my a/c unit semi-annually.

 + -1 moreWe were due to leave on vacation. The day before leaving, we noticed a water leak in the bathroom around our toilet basin. It also happened to be a Saturday. Yikes! Busy day for most plumbers. We were a bit panick strickened but called Parker & Sons and Benjamin Franklin which was also is listed on Angies' List. Both were very responsive/helpful. Benjamin was booked but Parker/Sons was able to get us in. The service was great as well as the price. Benjamin Franklin did call later and said they had a cancellation if still needed. We will use either one of them in the future. Very happy with Parkers & Son. They fixed the problem, the cost was minimal and we were able to enjoy our vacation. Thank you Parkers & Son and Angies's List.

 + -1 moreIt went real well. Todd came on Sunday to finalize the deal. I hated to have him leave his family on a Sunday but I also have a family to take care of, and right now they needed air conditioning. They showed up bright and early Tuesday morning and finished before the end of the day. They had about 3 crews on it. Everyone was real professional. There were 3 things that I had a little problem with. One, they should have told us when they were turning the air back on. A lot of stuff blew out of the vents on my kids and some guests. 2, they should have cleaned up under all the vents in the house. They did clean up their mess but they should have cleaned up the mess from the air ducts after kicking on the new units. The third problem was they sent a guy out in a Yankees cap. (Enough said.) There still is a little follow up that needs to be done, but we can already tell that these new Lennox units are fantastic. So are the air filters. It's expensive but worth it.
Description of Work: They came out and installed 2 new Lennox Air Conditioners for our house. They were the third company we called for an estimate. All 3 companies would have been great to use. It was a tough decision and we chose Parker & Sons because we are familiar with them through their advertising on the radio as well as the reports on Angie's List. Also Todd (the salesman) took my cards for blinds. We will work with people and companies who will work with us. We did get a 4th estimate from an older couple who was a lot cheaper, but there was no way we were trusting them to do our work. After 2 estimates we weren't feeling good about the prices we were getting so I called Parker & Sons in hopes they would either be less expensive or they would validate the prices we were getting. Adrianna talked to me for half an hour. She was excellent. Very informative and friendly even though I told her I was probably not going with them. She was so kind I decided to have them out and Todd was just as good.

That is also the guest house that all our family stays in when they come to visit. I have several sisters, so we wanted a good, heavy duty water heater that would be sturdy and last us a long time.  + -1 moreHe did cut a hole in the wall and said it was saturated inside but could not determine where the leak was without going further. I had him stop at that point as I had another plumber coming out and wanted a 2nd opinion. The 2nd plumber said he should never have cut a hole in the wall without knowing where the pipes were located and/or a leak detection had been done. He also found that the ice maker was leaking behind the fridge. I wish I had gone with the 2nd plumber first and saved the cost of making the hole and now repairing the cement block and sheetrock necessary by the 1st plumber's actions.
Description of Work: I had a water leak in a condo that I rent out in Glendale, AZ. The tenant said it appeared to be coming up out of the floor (he's on the ground floor with slab foundation). The HOA said that they had had similar issues where a pipe cracked and the foundation/flooring etc. had to be dug out and fixed. Anyway, I scheduled 3 plumbers (all from Angie's List) to come out and diagnose the problem and give me an estimate. Brandon from Parkers & Sons was the first to come out. He arrived on time around 8 am (was supposed to be out "first thing" or between 8 and 10 when I pressed for a time). After pulling out the fridge and looking at the dishwasher, he found that the walls were saturated with water about 3.5 - 4 ft up, and that usually is NOT indicative of a slab leak. He suggested cutting a hole in the wall to see if the leak were there. He also suggested I could contact a leak detection service who would pinpoint the leak(s). The cost for the leak detection service was about $275

It ended up being a bit more work than the plumber originally thought but he held the $300 price nonetheless. These people are punctual, responsive, caring, and operate with integrity.
