Parker & Sons

Our water heater gave up on the night of December 17. It stopped making hot water and was leaking. We called Parker and Sons the next morning to see if we could get someone to come and look at it for us and replace it if necessary. The office was not open when we called but the answering service representative said she could have someone call me. I had a call about 15 minutes later. This person said they could not make a definite time but would try for morning. I had a technician at our house by about 10 AM. Our water heater needed to be replaced and he left to get a new one. Everything was done within about 2 hours. He did a great job for us. He hauled away the old one, cleaned everything up and now we have a new water heater that works like a dream!

Initially installed the system incorrectly and had to reinstall on the 2nd day. We later discovered that they actually installed a different less efficient unit than what we were quoted and paid for. To date we still do not have resolution, even though Trane the manufacturer, says the wrong unit was installed and Parker and Son's need to correct the issue.

I contacted them for AC tune. Scheduled an appointment a week in advance. Appointment was set for a weekday.They told me they'll give me 30 mins heads-up. So far, everything went great and then 15 mins before my scheduled appt, lady calls and said, they are really busy and will not be able to make it today and requested me to reschedule. I was okay with rescheduling and we rescheduled me over the weekend. I was told that it will be in the morning and will be given priority. It was Sunday and till 11 am, I didn't receive any call so I call them to ask and person on the phone told me that another 2 hrs or so as they are working on a house and I am next. I am waiting..its 2.30 pm now and no call from them. I call again and lady answers and I tell her the whole story. She puts me on hold, comes back and says, they are still working on a house and will be at my place "sometime today". I asked for a specific time and she said, we don't give time slots on weekends. They will come when they can and best they do is call ahead and I should be home. This really p***** me off because I've been waiting all day, was kind enough to reschedule my appointment in first place and not even willing to commit to a time. She was extremely rude and unprofessional and I just canceled my appointment. I don't know of a company that doesn't give you an appointment time slot and expects you to be home when they arrive with 15 mins advance notice. They lost my business for good..

Best service I have ever received from any company I have dealt with in the past. Parker and Sons went far out of their way to make me a satisfied customer. I would recommend them to anybody.

He seemed competent and knew what he was doing.

Could have had same day service at no extra cost even though it was a weekend, but chose Tuesday instead. The serviceman called and arrived on time. Except for suggesting the main shutoff at the house so as not to have to make a call to the city or perhaps damage the city's property, all the work done was as previously discussed. No pressure to add work. This was the second time we've called Parker and Sons and would do so again. And it would be a pleasure to have Peter again. One problem, though...We deal with Parker & Sons, Inc. I couldn't find it by that name.....Angies List has it as Parker Cooling Heating and Plumbing.

It went well - I will call on Parker and Sons again.

We were cleaning out the refrigerator at mom's house when the sink started backing up. We had used them before, so called them out to handle the problem. The tech arrived and checked out the problem, brought in what was needed. The plug/problem was stubborn, but he kept working at it until it was resolved.

We contacted Parker & Sons because our A/C unit was not generating cool air even though the fan was blowing. We were preparing for the news that we would need a new unit since ours is 19 years old. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that we did not need to do that yet. We very much appreciated the professionalism and honesty displayed by Zach from Parker & Sons. We will definitely continue to use them for our maintenance needs and, when needed, will purchase our new system from them. Not only did we get our immediate needs met, but we also have the peace of mind that when we do have to replace our old unit we don't have to agonize about where to buy it.

Flat rate labor rates rarely benefit the customer. I paid around 150.00 an hour for labor with this company.

I ultimately did not have Parker & Sons perform any services, after a highly unsatisfactory phone call to them, to inquire about a very specific job. All I needed was for the large filter on my rooftop cooler to be replaced. The *customer service* rep (The '*' denotes sarcasm) refused to quote their fee on this, but that "the trip charge would be only be applied if I did not go forward with them doing the work"... as if this was good news, when for all I knew, their price to replace that filter could have been exorbitant. We also went around & around, with her stating no set price could be given, since the job might entail more steps / services; & myself continually having to respond, "YES I GET THAT'S ALWAYS A POSSIBILITY -- BUT AGAIN, FOR NOW I JUST WANT TO KNOW THE COST OF A SIMPLE FILTER REPLACEMENT, & SURELY YOU HAVE A FEE LIST." She finally replied, "Well yes, but the tech would have that, not me. I will have one call you back." NO ONE ever got back to me, & the rep's attitude was rude overall. Bottom Line: Clearly the only way to get that quote, was to have them come out; & if it did turn out to be too high for me to want them to proceed, THEN I was stuck paying a 'trip charge' for the honor to find out. Under my circumstances, a tech would NOT have garnered any more info about replacing a filter for this make & model, in person than over the phone. I will NEVER use this company due to this experience, to include the phone clerk's manner. When I see their commercials now, I just laugh & think, "Yeah right, & NO THANKS". Parker & Sons Inc replaced an air conditioning unit in May.

They were prompt in responding to our request and the gentleman who came to the house was nice enough. However, in comparison to the other companies we dealt with, they were not nearly as thorough in doing the energy calculations and figuring out the proper unit for our home. They had more of a standard formula approach and didn't do actual measurements. Their price was also higher than the company we went with. Probably most disappointing was that no one ever called us back to follow up on the quote and see if we had additional questions. They didn't try to earn our business.

They did a great job solving our problem.

I called in the morning to make an appointment to have our air conditoner serviced. They came that afternoon. The serviceman checked out the air conditioner and then showed me a picture of the dirty coils and recommended that I have them cleaned. He explained how long it would take and the cost. I agreed and he cleaned them in the amount of time that we had discussed.

I wouldn't recommend them. We weren't impressed enough to use them again. When the guy came out he tried to sell us stuff that we didn't need.

We had a positive experience with them once again and will continue to use them. They don't have the best rates but it is worth it for the quality and professionalism. They always give us great advice and you can tell they are honest businessman.

The guy showed up on time. It took a couple hours to install but i expected that. He was pleasant, cleaned up after himself, and the filter works well. Happy customer.

They quoted me a great price on a new Trane complete system and weren't pressuring me to upsale. They also knew the real scoop on what is approved for Federal and SRP rebates and what wasn't. My unit went out on a Friday, so they provided portable a/c units for me to get through the weekend until they were able to install the unit on Monday. They really went above and beyond to make sure everything was installed and running properly. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

called around 4 pm, and they provided same day service. Tec arrived around 6 that night, checked out many things and then replaced the fan. On a day that was around 110 degrees, same day service was invaluable. No extra fee for after hours or for working late. The individual that came by was very cheerful, helpful and cleaned up work area.

GREAT! We are 100% satisfied and will definitely use Kevin and Parker and Sons, Inc. the next time we need plumbing services.
