Water heater broke - Replaced with a new one.

We've used them over and over. I know them for years now. They do yearly checkup for us. They are very good and right on time. They come when they say they're going to come. They are very polite and very clean.

It went well. An A/C unit that has been serviced on multiple previous occasions, and was beyond its life expectancy stopped cooling. Their technician showed me the broken parts and oil leak to confirm the problems, and told me that it could be repaired, but that it would cost around $4000 and the warranty would be for one year. An entirely new unit would start at $6000, and would have a considerably longer warranty. The work was done a few days later. The team arrived exactly on time. They were courteous and professional throughout the job. They checked in with me periodically to give me updates on their progress. After the work was complete, they took time to review everything with me and offered to demonstrate the operation of the new unit. They cleaned up every scrap of mess from the project, and I can't tell they were ever there. The new unit seems to be working well, although the days are still cool and it hasn't been used much yet.

Very prompt, courteous, always on time. They were supposed to replace the rotating vent but they didnt measure it right and had to come back out to do that.

We have been using these guys for over 30 years and will never stray. You definitely get what you pay for with these guys. May not always have the best price but always do the best work.

Bathroom drain (sink and bathtub/shower) was clogged in the master bathroom. Could not clear it, so looked in the phone book and called several plumbing companies. A plumber from Parker and Sons was able to come out fairly quickly, much appreciated. He was pleasant to begin with. I told him the best way to clear the drain. I have cleared it myself a number of times, but did not have a snake this time to do the job myself. The plumber spent about 15 minutes trying to get the snake through a 90 degree turn in the pipe (which goes to the sewer). After the 15 minutes, he said "I can't clear this f***ing thing" and gave up. Wrote up an invoice for $145.41. I paid it, not wanting to get in a confrontation in my home (only me here) with a profane plumber. I see those Parker and Sons ads on the television frequently, touting their great service, low prices, and satisfied customers. I know the truth and will never use their services again. BEWARE!

They were very prompt in coming out on a Saturday for our kitchen water leak problem. The problem turned out to be a long term leak from our refridgerator ice maker water line. (Word of advise: get rid of your 1/4-inch copper tubing and use flexible stainless steel tubing!!!). Parker & Sons in turn recommended an independent underground leak detection service to check for and rule out anything going on underground, which turned out there was none thank goodness. Overall very satisfied with their services. I guess the price was commensurate with the emergency weekend timeframe.

He did the work but charged us almost double the phone quote!

It was a nice experience. They took care of everything and it works fine. They were courteous and through. They wear those little things on their shoes so that they keep the house clean when they come into the house. They were prompt and did the job. The price was fair. I would use them again in the future.

I called several companies on the Angie’s List site. I believe 2 of the 3 weren’t even able to conduct estimates within a 2-3 week period within which we needed the systems. It obviously didn’t bode well. I believe both of them were very high as far as overall quality and responsiveness all that, but they certainly didn’t meet our needs. With Parker and Sons, it went very well. They were very professional. They went above and beyond from the original quote and estimate that we got. They took longer than they originally anticipated. However, it seemed very reasonable given some of the challenges of the space. The price was definitely very near the quotes that we got. They were right here on time. They seemed pretty with it.

They are timely, responsive and mostly professional. Did have a leak that the tech had to come back for on the water softner and they were very high on their prices, but the work is good.

We had occasional problems with our home water pressure, and called Parker and Sons to investigate. After a check of all our water systems, we discovered that we needed a new water softener. The salesperson came to our home and thoroughly explained the choice of systems. It was installed promptly. We did have a few initial problems with the digital read-out and a leaking tube, but they were fixed promptly at no charge.

Everything went very well. Parker Brothers went out of their way to completely satisfy my air distribution problems.

Their price was on the very high side. They charged $500 for the regulator. They wanted more. We talked them down. It was just soldering some piece together. They charged $250 for a filter change of the water softener in the kitchen. They charged $4500, which is worth a new water softener. Their employees seem to be happy working for their company. Overall, the job went okay. They did okay except they had an accident with the spraying of the chemicals from the old water softener. They sprayed one of my plants outside which was about 5 feet high and about 6 feet in diameter and killed it. We told them, and we very pleasant about it. We just needed it to be replaced. They just never admitted it that they did it, but they were willing to try to do something about it. They came out and just started they wouldn?t be able to personally to take it out with shovel they had. We just told them that we will hire someone to take it out, and we will get a small plant and nurture it back in 6 or 7 years. The next year when they come to change the filters it would be approximately $140 or $150, and they would take that and replace doing the plant work. Other than that, we have not had it for very long; only may be a month and a half or two. I wouldn?t really recommend them. They are too high. When we saw the incident, they called my husband a liar. My husband is trying to feed in some information because they called him a liar. I don?t like all that. Actually when I had to call them, I had to keep calling them and I had to wait a week. Finally, I could get this one professional that was a salesman on the product and he was the only one that really helped us get things done. They were here pretty much on time. We were talking about having air conditioners. Even though they may be better in that, I just don?t feel that they would get up to what I would want from someone.

They were very professional. I now that they were more expensive than other companies I had contacted. I would probably contact them in the future. I don't have any reason not to contact them.

I spent $1200 on that work. They were good to answer the call and come out and do the work. The technician was competent.

I was not happy with them. I spent $650 on that work. I was not thrilled with them. It was a lot of money for them not doing any work. I would never ever call them again. Whatever they advertised online, it seemed deceptive to me like their quality and that they listen to the customer, but they don?t listen.

They showed up right when they said they would and answered all of our questions. They were extremely professional and I was very pleased with their service.

Great! They installed the unit with no proplems and came out promptly if we needed them after that.

We called early in the morning and left a message with the answering service but were told that the message was not received. I called later and they said that they would come sometime that day. They arrived at 5:30PM. They did a good job explaining the problem, and cleaning out the drain. We felt that $225.00 was a little expensive. The drain works great now.

I have used them for a while now. I have a contract with them. They come out on a regular basis. I like their truthfulness, honesty, and straightforwardness. They are prompt and they are courteous.

gimmick... they say they are discounted with Costco but jack their price up and apply a fictitious discount. Costs more than every other contractor. Replacing our heat pump, requested an estimate. Found them through Costco. The rep didn't show up, and I called them in middle of time frame to make sure. Time frame was 4pm - 6 pm. I called them at 5PM. They confirmed the rep was "stopping at home" before stopping out at our place. He never showed. I called the next morning. They "didn't have us on their schedule" but offered 5% discount. The rep came out the next day as scheduled. He wrote up a VERY high quote and never mentioned his missing the appointment, never put down the 5% discount. I wonder if they wonder why I didn't call back. The new unit from another company is running great and was only 70% the cost as from Parker. Very unprofessional! Rep was dressed like a laborer instead of a professional. He quoted city requirements which were not valid about the condensation drain.

I have been using Parker and Sons exclusively for Heating/A/C and plumbing repairs for the past 14 years. They have replaced two complete heating and A/C two units in my house, several water heaters, seasonal check ups and repairs of my rental. Never had any problem with scheduling or repair, until this year. Contacted Parker and Sons to perform a seasonal checkup on my vacant rental units heater as well as inspect and possibly repair the duct work. The time was scheduled for after 8 am on a Saturday morning. After waiting until 12:30 pm that Saturday, I called to find out when I could expect the service tech to arrive. I was informed, by a somewhat unprofessional phone rep, that they don't give specific times on the weekends for routine maintenance, all priority goes to the customers who's units have failed. I explained that the property is vacant, and that I had already been waiting for 4 hours and would appreciate a general time frame. After all, it is not reasonable to wait indefinitely. Since the property was due to be occupied the following Wednesday, I suggested that we reschedule for Monday. Of course no openings were available. I then suggested that I might have to schedule with a competitor since I was under a time constraint, at which point the tone of the rep changed, to one of we don't really care about your business. Thinking to myself, after14 years of loyal patronage and and receiving great service what a change. I told her this was very disappointing. She immediately cut short the call and connected me with her supervisor. A very friendly man got on the phone. Continuing in a non confrontational tone I explained the situation and said all I am looking for is a time frame. He was very helpful and said he could have a tech out by 2 pm. I said that is perfect. I still had some repairs to complete and I should be there until 4 or 5 pm. 4 pm rolls around. No tech, no phone call. I called Parker back, they could give me no explanation, or time frame, so I was left with no alternative but to cancel. So there I was, I have a property that is promised to be ready for occupancy by the following Wednesday, and my once reliable heating and plumbing company drops the ball. Bottom line, I suspect that Parker and Sons has become so large that they can no longer offer the service they once did, especially for the routine maintenance. If you need a repair immediately they will come out pretty quick (I think - they used to - who knows now), but it looks like if you need routine maintenance you will be hard pressed to get a firm time window for a tech to arrive, especially at the beginning or end of the week. Side note: The following Sunday, I discovered a drain problem in the rental, I called one of their competitors, they came out and repaired a damaged drain pipe in the wall. Parker lost a juicy repair deal because of their lack of customer care the day before, not to mention the still to be resolved duct work issue...... Ouch!
