They came the same day. The plumber remove and replaced a leaky water heater. He replaced the old lines and put a new brass drain valve in. He was very professional and cleaned up all the debris.

They charged $500 to replace two cartidges in shower faucets. Meterials were $40. I should have gotten more quotes but the holidays were coming. Recently I had a toilet and a new kitchen faucet put in for $300 by another Angie's List company.

The representative was nice, friendly, neat, no problems with him. But I feel like I was totally ripped off. I should not have been so naive to believe that the low cost check-up was a good deal and not just an opportunity to get into my house and upsell me on other, I suspect, totally unnecessary maintenance. He showed me on his checklist the two suggested pieces of maintenance he recommended, and I swear he told me the cleaning of the coils would be $131.00 and NOT $231.00. Reexamining his writing (I am a professor), there was little difference between a "1" and a "2" in his writing. I was then shocked for two reasons: first, the final cost was $100 more than I anticipated; and, second, 30 minutes to clean coils and charge me $257.00, give me a break. He showed me on his cell phone the before and after cleaning picture of the coils and I had to ask him which was which because there was no discernible difference. So the whole procedure in my opinion was unnecessary. I have used Parker & Sons intermittently for the last 23 years, and I believe the behavior I encountered was clearly unethical and misleading, probably simply dishonest. The company needs to review its practices. So next time I will be a little worldly wise. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Parker & Sons will not be receiving any more of my business. I feel totally ripped off. Please refund my $231.00. Invoice A942280.
Description of Work: Performed about a 45 minute check-up on the heating unit. Informed me of two services that needed to be done: install a power surge protector; and, second, clean the coils.

Made an appointment at Costco to get information about installing a water softener. The person who came knew nothing about where it should be installed or how to connect into existing plumbing. He gave us a quote for the largest unit even though there are just two people living in the house. He never called back to see if we had made a decision.

On my annual HVAC inspection, the "senior" tech informed me one of my AC units needed R22. I had this issue the year before so I was not surprised. He added 2 pounds and it cost $125/pound! Wow. He said the condensing coil was likely leaking and needed to be replaced. The unit was not in warranty he said. However, I know it's in warranty for 2 more years. I contacted the home office of Parker and spoke to s manager. I questioned the cost of the R22 (I had quotes from others at $60) and he said that was "their price book" . I questioned the rapid conclusion of leaking coil and he offered to send another tech out to do a leak test at no charge. 3 days later a tech shows up reeking of cigarette smoke, he goes in the attic opens the air handler (I am watching) turns on a gadget and it beeps and he says "yep the unit is leaking R22". I start to evaluate replacement units vs. replacing the coil part on warranty. At the same time, my pool heat pump started to make a new noise, so I called the AC guys that work in that unit. As it turns out they are also fully qualified for house HVAC units and the first thing the owner says to me "did they put in leak detector fluid to find the leak?" I say no, he says he will put in in while there and check the compressor pressure. He determined he needed add 1/2 a pound of R22 and it was $30/pound. Wow again. He came back in 3 days and opened the air handler in the attic and using a black lite and yellow goggles, searched to evidence of a leak. NONE FOUND! He said that the next logical choice was the Shrader valve at the R22 input port on the compressor. The often get dry and leak, like the valves on your auto tires. He replaced the valve. For all the service (2 calls, 1/2 pound R22 and a value) he charged $95. So who would you want troubleshooting your HVAC. The jerks at Parker or a competent small guy? Parker may have won some award 10 years ago BUT STAY AWAY FROM THEM. I canceled my Parker contract and moving on.. So should you

They were recommended by my realtor so this is why i used them/trusted them. BEWARE: This plumber cut off and took away our heavy copper pipes without our permission!!!!! They were on time. The price was a bit high for what I thought was going to be a very simple job. The plumber seemed to understand what I needed him to do so I left for a bit to get my pets. I told him to call me if there were any issues. He never called and when I got back he had cut out and removed all our copper pipes [heavy copper pipes that are worth a bit of money at scrap yard....] almost to the ground for no reason and looped them. There was no reason to do this at all and I would not have approved cutting down all the pipes had he consulted with me first. He removed all of the heavy copper pipe for the filter attachment which was about 4' of copper. He did not do what I hired him to do which was cap off the pipes [i never asked for him to cut them off and take them]. When I asked why he did this he said that the bypass valve was broken so he could not cap the pipes. He should have then just attached the pipes at the level the pipes were already at, not cut several feet off and cap near the floor. He did not call me before authorizing the change in work and he was not authorized to take all our copper away and cut the pipes down to just a few inches above the ground. He said he was going to leave everything there when he was done and I trusted him but I discovered he had put the RO unit in his truck and I made him return it. I did not realize he took our copper pipes away and left us with all the worthless parts, I should have looked at the pipe and looked for the pipes. What doesn?t add up is that he made it clear before he started the job that he was leaving all the scrap and parts at the home when he was done for us to dispose of but then changed his mind and took away a large amount of our copper pipes and then supposedly threw them out at his office according to his receptionist?!? Why would he do this when he left everything else behind for us to dispose of. To us it looks like he took what he thought was of value to resell or reuse? He did not have my permission to do this. When I asked for copper back the next day it I was told it was thrown out ?! I am having a hard time understanding why he only threw out our expensive copper pipes and tried to take away the RO unit to throw out and left water softener and all the plastic stuff? My husband made them come back and put back the pipes they took and put back the filter connectors. They put in thin cheap copper pipes not nearly the same thickness as what they took from us and they welded in the old dirty water filters on the water line so that they can never be removed. This contaminated our water system because they had been on the ground overnight in the garage!! My husband also said they blamed me for all this [This really made me angry!!!!] and said this is what I asked them to do -- pretty classy thing to do. I never told him to do anything he ended up doing. I never said it was ok to take all our copper pipes or our RO unit and I never said to cut the pipes almost down to the floor either!!!! I would never EVER use them again, not ever!l I will be telling my Realtor about this experience as well.
Description of Work: Asked for old water softener pipes to be capped, old filters to be removed and capped and also to remove RO unit and make sure water line for refrigerator was connected to main line.

Their prices for soft water units were high. Above other estimates we received and the pressure to change out plumbing that is functioning just fine was not appreciated. The cost of everything they wanted to do was high. We have had the water softener installed by another company and estimates to fix the plumbing on the water heater that are much lower than this company.
Description of Work: We received an estimate by the provider. After speaking with the salesman at length, he recommended not only replacing the soft water unit, but also our water heater plumbing and the pressure reducing valve. I understand that the recommendations were to update our current situation to maintain codes, however the cost and the pressure to make the extra changes that we could not afford at the time were not appreciated.

They fixed the problem, temporarily. We learned that the unit was on its last leg, and due to fail again. We asked for bid on new unit, and theirs was one of the highest. For our home and other investment properties, we always opt first to go to Parker and Sons. We have a technician (Ken Porter) that we ask for specifically, because of his honesty, excellent workmanship, and great personality. He's never steered us wrong.

They are great. You can call them twenty four hours a day and they will come promptly for any issues that may occur. Everything they do as excellent.
Description of Work: We use them for refrigeration. They have put in insulation in the attic in the past. They check our units twice a year. They installed a new air conditioner in the past as well. They did a whole house plumbing inspection most recently. I have a contract with them for $10.00 a month and they will check the plumbing and the air conditioner and heating unit.

My water heater burst and we came home to a mess I called parker and sons because they helped me with my air conditioner and did a really great job. They came out that night however they couldn't replace it that night and said they would be back first thing in the morning and did not show up until 1130. The company is always professional and they do a great job however I feel this time they overcharged me and the new water heater should have been put in the night I called. After talking to a few people I know other companies would have done that for me at a lower price.

They're very good. They're very thorough on it. I need to get a sewer line, that's the bottom line. I have insurance for that with the city of Tempe. I live in Tempe and I didn't go with them initially because it was on a weekend and I didn't know if they were able to help me on a weekend. If it can, they won't reimburse me for Parker Service and I just have to wait until the problem happens again before they do any service. The information about the city of Tempe so far has been good. The price was good. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I had a problem with the sewer line so I had Parker and Son's Plumbing HVAC come out. They rodded it and as part of that service, they also did a visual of the sewer line. They had a special tool that they can do that with and they showed me that.

Mark arrived and quickly went to work. He installed the toilets (which were of great quality), removed the old ones and cleaned up. He wore booties over his shoes to protect the floors and packed the old toilets in cardboard to avoid drips and stains. He was very professional, friendly and helpful. He even answered some questions for my son who is planning on replacing our kitchen faucet. I would definitely use them again if I had a need.

The entire process went very well. This is not the first time I have used Parker & Sons. The first time I used them was 9 or 10 years ago. My AC stopped on a very hot summer day. It was an old unit and I was afraid It was something major. Turned out it was just a fried wire or switch. I think the bill was less than $200 and the AC / Heater unit worked perfectly for another 8 years. I could have kissed them I was so relieved. I know I am not the only one very happy with them, I see their trucks on my street all the time.

We had bought a new washing machine to replace an ancient one. The day before the new one was to be delivered, I attempted to disconnect the old one and found the faucets were badly corroded and would not turn off. I called Parker & Sons and requested Damien who had worked on repairing our sewer line about a month earlier. He showed up first thing next morning, disconnected the old washer and installed new faucets, which incorporate a ball valve and only need a quarter turn to turn off and on. We were now ready for the new washer. § 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 - = Backspace Tab q w e r t y u i o p [ ] Return capslock a s d f g h j k l ; ' \ shift ` z x c v b n m , . / shift English Deutsch Español Français Italiano Português ??????? alt alt Preferences Preferences § 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 - = Backspace Tab q w e r t y u i o p [ ] Return capslock a s d f g h j k l ; ' \ shift ` z x c v b n m , . / shift English Deutsch Español Français Italiano Português ??????? alt alt Preferences
